Note: before reading this blog, it might be an idea to visit the loo and then put on a cuppa. It’s lengthy… but worth a read.
What would happen if a cosmological being was sent on a mission to visit Earth, morph into human form and then report back on its observations? This is how it might read…
During my visit to Earth, the strange behaviours I observed led me to question human sanity. Here’s what I unravelled…
Many humans in ‘advanced’ western cultures are pre-occupied with money. The more they get, the more they spend. Most appear to spend more than they have, then borrow more money from institutions that charge more money to do so. This is called debt. Most of these institutions are very wealthy because they have little regard for humanity. Then humans have to work harder to get more money to pay back the debt. Confused? I was!
It appears that these problems are caused by greed – a condition where many humans and institutions desire more than they need.
Because many humans work long hours, they have less time to relax and be with their loved ones. To counter this, they wait until they retire (which means they stop working when they are older) so they can relax and have more time with loved ones. But in the meantime many become agitated, develop a condition called stress and suffer from deteriorating health. This often results in relationships falling apart and then there’s no loved one to spend time with.
To relieve their agitation they put many peculiar things into their bodies including a liquid substance called alcohol, which causes blindness if consumed undiluted. To prevent blindness, they mix in other liquids to dilute the alcohol. This has strange effects on their bodies and their behaviour, including unusual speech patterns, hysterical laughing, shrieking, crying, losing balance and becoming aggressive. One of the by-products of this alcohol epidemic is an abnormal amount of violence and vehicular accidents – except most are not accidents because they are preventable.
I asked many humans why they drink this liquid and they told me they do it to relax or have fun. When I asked what was preventing them from relaxing or having fun without alcohol, they didn’t appear to know.
Some said it brought out their true personality, so I asked why they needed alcohol to do that. They did not know. Some said they drank to escape. “Escape from what?” I asked. “A meteor shower, tsunami or avalanche?” It appears that they use alcohol to escape from themselves. But why?
After drinking alcohol, many humans feel very sick and make solemn vows called ‘never agains’. But alcohol must affect memory, because believe it or not, within a short space of time they are back at it.
There are also huge, wealthy organisations where toxic chemicals are blended with crushed dried leaves and the mixture packed into small paper cylinders. Around a billion humans pay trillions of dollars to light the cylinders and suck in the poisonous smoke, which damages their respiratory systems and causes various illnesses, often ending their lives prematurely.
Most humans know this is bad for them, but they choose to continue and would rather sacrifice their lives than cease to suck in chemical-laced smoke. This is where the term ‘sucked in’ comes from.
There is also a leafy plant which many dry, then pack it into paper cylinders or glass vessels. They light the substance and breathe the smoke in deeply. The effect is zombie-like behaviour smattered with outbursts of uncontrollable laughter. Consistent use results in diminished brain function and delusions for which many require small tablets for the remainder of their lives in an attempt to balance this condition.
Some inject a liquid made from poppy flowers directly into their blood stream while others sniff powder through their noses. When asked why, a common response was “It’s OK, it’s natural.”
When I mentioned that snake venom and strychnine are natural, so why not sniff or smoke them, there was no response (apart from one human who said he would ‘give it a go’ – but he passed out before that was possible).
No-one is forced into these rituals. It is a choice that many consider to be quite normal because others do the same. Why do they follow each other to self-destruction?
Yet this was only the beginning of my discoveries…
Governments (a group of humans who are elected by fellow humans to manage their countries) contribute to this cycle of violence, death and devastation. This occurs because governments have a vested interest from collecting lucrative taxes on the white cylinders and billions of litres of alcohol that humans pour down their throats.
Ironically, much of the money is needed to pay for more nurses, doctors, hospitals and rehabilitation centres to help these ill-fated humans.
Meanwhile, other government agencies continue to approve more licences to sell more alcohol and permit longer drinking hours. Should it not be reversed? Go figure! (That’s an Earth term meaning “What the?!”)
Then there are non-alcoholic drinks laced with sugar and caffeine. Television screens tell humans these drinks will boost energy. That is not true. These drinks give a false boost of energy for a brief time, only for the human to experience a fall when it wears off. This eventually results in the collapse of the human energy system.
Governments also have other ways to raise funds. In many of the buildings where humans drink alcohol, there are many rows of machines adorned with flashing lights and sounds to attract donors. Humans put money into the machines hoping they will receive more back than they put in. But this is impossible because the venues and governments ‘take’ a percentage of the contributions.
From ‘the take’, huge buildings have been built to house even more machines. In America, a religious group and crime syndicates developed a city called Las Vegas from ‘the take’. Every year, millions of humans go there to donate their money and drink alcohol.
Some humans become elected members of government so they can make heartfelt decisions to serve fellow humans. Yet most eventually make decisions according to the will of the group they have aligned with. Their intention to help humanity dissipates. What becomes more important is retaining power at the expense of what is right and fair for all.
Some humans are considered beautiful because they have symmetrical facial structures (compliments of the lucky sperm club). ‘Beautiful’ humans are often acclaimed by other humans. I found it quite odd how humans praise other humans’ bone proportions.
Many ‘beautiful’ people are used as mobile clothes hangers to display various garments.
Some ‘beautiful’ people are involved in a vocation called acting where they mimic others and appear in movies that are beamed onto large screens. An annual contest determines the best actors and the best films, but only those associated with the acting industry vote. Humans who watch the movies do not. The real reason for the competition is to dress up, be noticed and praised.
Many actors are very wealthy, yet insecure, although idolised by numerous humans. This is most peculiar, particularly as those who teach children and care for humans in hospitals receive little recognition and are paid very little.
Humans have even de-nourished their own food supply. Crops and food have been modified and controlled by large corporations who seek to make huge profits. Most of the Earth’s population has lost its natural vitality. Many humans are either very large or very small.
Eating has become an obsession in developed countries where cooks become celebrities. Believe it or not, they even compete on the television to see who can make the best meal.
I also came across extremely wealthy corporations involved in producing small tablets which assist humans to sustain their lives and give them relief from illnesses, diseases and anxiety… most of which are self-inflicted. Many humans in poor countries are denied access to the tablets because they do not have money. But the companies have more money than they need.
I was beginning to despair as I continued to ask myself, “Are humans insane?”
But I was looking forward to attending one of Earth’s biggest events called the Olympic Games which occur every four years, where humans from countries around the world gather together to play games, also known as sport. Initial reports indicated it was a celebration of unity. But that was not the reality.
What I saw was a commercial monolith focused on politics, image, lucrative sponsorship and television profits. From the thousands of humans who participated there were winners, and there were many others called losers. I felt the despair of many of the losers who did not perform to a preconceived standard after torturing their bodies for four years to prepare for the competition. If this event represents global unity, then what is left? Where else can humans find true harmony?
This concept of winning is unique to humans. Winning means beating or triumphing over another. It may not mean hurting another physically – although the effect can be emotionally devastating, resulting in ongoing behavioural problems.
A popular activity many humans engage in is hitting a green sphere over a fence with an object that looks like a musical instrument called a banjo. Known as tennis, there appears to be much love in this game, because they repeat the word regularly. But there is not. The person who wins the last point is the winner. That person feels elated while the other does not. There are four major global tennis events each year. At each there is a male and a female winner who feel elated and another 254 humans who do not.
This is common to most sports.
Other activities include boxing and martial arts, where rowdy humans yell and scream to encourage the participants to hurt each other (similar to football).
Winning extends further. Leaders of some countries like to be winners, so they declare war on other countries. A boundary (an imaginary line on the ground) is often the catalyst for fighting, torture, death and misery. Even humans within their own countries kill each other and leaders turn armed soldiers against fellow citizens.
I saw wars fought over oil, greed, power and religion. Some leaders of countries with weapons of mass destruction say other countries cannot have those weapons, or they will attack them. Yet it appears to me that even though these leaders may triumph, they are indeed losers.
Even language is changed to dehumanise atrocities. Instead of saying, “We attacked an enemy and also murdered other innocent humans who had no involvement”, they now say “There was collateral damage.”
I saw large, gentle creatures called whales slaughtered in the name of science, while governments lacked the courage to stand up against the executioners. I also saw revolutionaries on the high seas using aggression and intimidation against other humans to ‘protect’ these non-violent animals. Is this not ironic?
There is so much more to report, however, enough is enough. It is time to present my conclusions…
On Earth I saw greed, corruption, obesity, malnutrition, disease, loneliness, disrespect, envy, disregard, anger, violence, murder, abuse, control, manipulation, separation and more extraordinary abnormal behaviour.
Many humans live in ‘hope’, but the reality is that hope is futile because it is an intangible somewhere in the future. And the future, like tomorrow and like hope, will never come; it is always distant.
But more importantly is ‘NOW’, and ‘now’ is the place where I eventually unravelled the questions I had about humanity.
It was easy to see what was wrong on Earth, but I needed to be more vigilant to seek what was true. I realised I had focused on what humans did, rather than who they truly are. I had neglected to genuinely connect and be totally present with humans when I communicated with them.
And then when I did, something magical happened. I looked into human eyes and I saw sadness, despair, fear, resignation and sometimes almost nothing. Yet there was something else I saw – a flicker, a glow.
In a moment of revelation I recognised that within every single human on Earth, even the most disturbed, is a light: an inner-fire just waiting to be kindled. For some the light is dull, for others it is a bright glow radiating out and touching others.
That light is Love.
Most humans have chosen to build protective shields to hide their light. They appear to be continually dousing water onto a fire that refuses to go out.
Humans feel hurt from an absence of love. Yet ironically, their natural essence is love, which is omnipresent from childhood. But humans shut it down and deny loving themselves. Hence the hurt and the abnormal destructive behaviours I saw on Earth.
Ironically, by doing so, they are missing out on a life of constant joy.
Love is the most powerful and unifying agent in the universe. And no matter how many reject it or fight against it, love is expanding on planet Earth right now.
More and more humans around the planet have made the choice to discard the abnormal, unloving lives they previously lived and instead, now live with self-care, compassion, brotherhood, service, love and freedom.
The changes in their lives have inspired others to live with love and discover how wonderful life really is. In turn, more humans will be inspired and so it will continue.
So to answer the question, “Are humans insane?” the answer is “No”.
Humans have simply lost their way without comprehending how much love and potential they hold within.
Insane? No.
A little crazy? Yes.

Richard just caught what you are saying
‘The Kingdom of Love is within…’ us all.
Didn’t Jeshua say something similar of 2,000 years ago? Wow we are very slow on the uptake of his teachings.
Very well expressed Alison we have become so fixated in our own navel gazing that we are lost to the rot of humanity. As long as we the individual are okay then nothing else matters. This is why we are all experiencing this gross condition we then call life.
I really the appreciate the humor and what you have exposed…
‘Because many humans work long hours, they have less time to relax and be with their loved ones. To counter this, they wait until they retire (which means they stop working when they are older) so they can relax and have more time with loved ones. But in the meantime many become agitated, develop a condition called stress and suffer from deteriorating health. This often results in relationships falling apart and then there’s no loved one to spend time with.’
I am old enough to have witnessed this phenonium for myself amongst my friends, it’s crazy but true.
When all put together it does sound absolutely crazy. But when we get down to the reasoning behind it all it’s very simple. When not Love we are everything but love.
This is cracker Rod, an incredible exposé that gives us insight into what’s going on. Once all the rot was revealed, and I was shocked still in my body reading it, you bring in the true truth, that there is Love inside all of us that can be kindled. It takes but one spark to ignite a bushfire, who’s flames can burn across a country side, changing all and clearing the way. We are and all can be that fire, it’s time we set our heart ablaze.
Love this road map of the many ways that humanity has lost it way and forgotten the love that we all are. Recognising this craziness and having the willingness to make changes offers us all the opportunity to transform our lives if we so choose.
To live or give energy to hope is to deny or dismiss what is being offered in the present. It is a get out clause from not living the truth of who we are.
The justification of atrocities beggars belief so what do do about that? Look the other way and pretend because it is not on our doorstep that it does not affect us? The sadness you mention seeing in people tells me that we have tried doing that and it isn’t working. So perhaps it is time we employed a deeper level of honesty so we can accept what we have accepted that is not decent of respectful, let alone loving, to our fellow man and in doing so change our behaviour. If we can contemplate the possibility that how we are in our own lives will have a ripple effect in the world, then why wouldn’t you give that a go?
It seems we try to squash ourselves into whichever box will have us accepted and loved. It is only when we do not look outside of ourselves for that acceptance and love that we can truly know what we would like to do for our work, rest and play.
What a great question:
‘Where else can humans find true harmony?’ Looking outside hasn’t worked so far, only inside ourselves we can find true harmony and nature can reflect it to us.
Human beings don’t want to give up on their individuality and deny the power they have inside and the wisdom and love they can access in themselves.
After reading all the crazy things we do as human beings it sure is reassuring to read the truth about the power of love:
‘Love is the most powerful and unifying agent in the universe. And no matter how many reject it or fight against it, love is expanding on planet Earth right now.’
Rod, I always love coming back to reading this blog. ‘Humans feel hurt from an absence of love. Yet ironically, their natural essence is love, which is omnipresent from childhood.’ If we can connect back to this then it would make sense that much of how we choose to live that doesn’t work would simply disappear.
I agree Rachel Rod has summed up the human race in a few words. WE are missing the absence of love something we knew as children but lost the connection as we grew up. Society is set up in such a way that if anyone steps out of line to live from the love they know they are innately from, they are vilified and are treated as outcasts. This has been happening since day dot. There are unwritten rules that Rod has exposed that allows us to indulge in what ever takes our fancy but do not reconnect back to your soul.
Indeed it makes no sense to go against our whole body intelligence and yet it appears the mind is able to make some very not so intelligent choices to abuse the body it is housed in.
Jennym has humanity ever stopped to consider who is controlling our minds? Or, are we kept in perpetual motion so there is no time to stop and consider where our thoughts come from.
And there are those who are True Students of The Way of The Livingness all they do is be a divine reflection for others, thus sharing True Light!
It would appear that humans are energetically pre-programmed by the social systems to be ‘insane’ in order to continually override the natural way of being from very early on in life – these become fixed ideals and beliefs handed down through generations and accepted as ‘normal’.
It is great to write that Love is Expanding on Earth, because this brings in the science of Love and as such, raises questions about what Love actually is.
And now it seems that ‘vaping’ is on every street corner, we have 3 ‘vape’ shops on our high street and the perception is that it’s not as bad as smoking but is it? Or is it the same thing just with different packaging.
It is true, however, this world will never make sense for the fact that we are here is totally contrary to the everything the universe has told us. Only when we return will we ‘make sense’.
Brilliant blog to re-visit Rod – How strange it must look form the alien perspective living love to visit earth and see the plethora of the very strange things humans do to deny the love that is awaiting to be re-claimed within.
Yes, bizarre behaviour it must appear, and is, ‘very strange things humans do to deny the love that is awaiting to be re-claimed within.’
Brilliant blog to re-visit Rod – How strange it must look form the alien perspective living love to visit earth and see the plethora of the very strange things humans do to deny the love that is awaiting to be re-claimed within.
Thank you Rod – There are wonderful gems throughout this blog – meeting others in their essence, not judging them by how they are or what they do is the kindling that lights the inner fire once more.
“In a moment of revelation I recognised that within every single human on Earth, even the most disturbed, is a light: an inner-fire just waiting to be kindled. For some the light is dull, for others it is a bright glow radiating out and touching others”.
Looking at our behaviour like this brings it home as to how wayward we have gone and how we don’t even realise we are in a mess, and if we do, we go more into the behaviours as described here so as not to feel.
Are we insane? Yes but incredibly clever to have fallen for our own illusion.
Great to bring this reality to the fore. We seem to follow things because they are normal not because we actually take a step back and ask ‘why are we doing this’ – it is something that is deeply ingrained into us all, and so reading this blog and hearing it from a subjective ‘outsiders’ point of view actually lets me consider just how invested in identity and comfort we all are.
You can imagine this being a child’s view of the world – and them not truly understanding why we do what we do. It reflects the responsibility we have to raise children in a way where they observe and make choices that support their bodies rather than what humanity is going along with.
Humans like using the word, “love”. It is so overused and has varying definitions and meanings. To use the word as though it has a universal understanding and meaning, is another example of the stupid and insane things that humans do.
Maybe Greg the purpose of over using the word love in its varying definitions and meanings was to lay many false trails, so that the truth of the real meaning of love would always remain hidden and obscured. However our every particle in our bodies are made up of love so at some point we will all return to that love that is holding us while we seek for the truth which is already within us waiting to be expressed.
It is interesting that no mention was made of the blind and illogical faith many humans have in a supernatural and fictitious character whom they call “God”. As a cosmological observer, it would be very hard to miss this prevalent and insane humane behavior.
Yes we are insane and what better way to prove it than to have a world cup in Football – sorry to rant but its that time again and wow it really does just compound separation and competition – you would have thought we might have grown out of that by now…..
It does compound separation but being in a country that gets right behind its players and team it forges a great allusion of bringing the country together at the expense of separating us further from the other competing nations.
Sam, I read an article years ago that said that Football was encouraged by the church as a means to keep men occupied after they had finished working, as a way to stop them from being idle and going to the pub and spending all their money on beer. This may have been the case but the deeper understanding I have is that it champions separation, teams against each other, towns and cities against each other, so much so that the police have to get involved to break up the violence between the fans, before during and after a football match.
I love your clear view on whats actually happening Rod, too many of us in society try not to see whats really going, in fact the world cup, the olympics are just two events we use for distraction purposes to not actually see what is going on in the world.
Taking a step back, it’s easy to see just how crazy we are in our behaviour, but whilst we are in it we don’t see it so clearly!
Great exposure of the many ways that humans attempt to smother the ever burning flame of love inside us all. As the love expands so do the intense and crazy behaviours that we have chosen as a means to block our love. Recognising this and choosing to reconnect to it is more possible now and we have increasing numbers of other humans who are making loving choices to light our way back.
Why do people use alcohol to escape from themselves and become extraordinary restless in their bodies as without there is so much to enjoy from being in the stillness of oneself?
I like this concept of observing human behavior as coming from another planet. You then can see the idiocy of it, but too that almost all people are contributing in one way or another as they believe in this creation and through that cannot see that they are living a lie.
This also really shows how our current education models do not prepare us for life. They support this set up of humans not knowing themselves, going into competition with each other against their natural ways, having to constantly look at getting somewhere but never making it and in this dismissing all that is known and felt within in a drive to get something to complete them. Yet the set up is there, forever a tension because the love is held within and it is this that needs to come out and be expressed in the world.
Yes MW, the current education system is part of this insane world, therefore will contribute to it in making sure that everybody will fit in into this ill created world. Anyone that does not fit into these school systems will drop out and are called not normal but in fact are more honouring to what they feel from within, that the system they are forced to come to live in is a lie and does takes them away from who they truly are and to maintain this creation as it is.
It feels to me Nico van Haastrecht that we are living inside a bubble, which contains us because we have become so wayward. Life outside the bubble is the pure harmony and intelligence of the universe. The bubble is earth and we are trapped here until we re learn our true origins and decide we have had enough of what we have created. We are not at that tipping point yet, but I believe in the next 200 years or so, we will really be able to see the changes within our society that shows our willingness to return to our soul.
I love coming back to your words here Rod, a very lighthearted way to look at the craziness we have made life to be and that nothing is ever lost that it just takes honesty and a willingness to see where we truly are at to then be able to change what we know is so obviously not working.
We have access to enormous amounts of love – but so often we tell ourselves that we don’t, pretend we can’t see it, turn our back on it, etc. Love is always right there with us and for us – it’s just always our choice about whether we’re open to seeing it and accepting it into our lives.
“On Earth I saw greed, corruption, obesity, malnutrition, disease, loneliness, disrespect, envy, disregard, anger, violence, murder, abuse, control, manipulation, separation and more extraordinary abnormal behaviour” Unfortunatly this has been the way for thousands of years and to date we are still not learning.
If we look past the disaster the world to the truth of the crazy outplay of life it all starts to make sense.
Observed like this, the way we live life is absurd, yet we have enshrined it and tell ourselves nothing else works. It’s so far from the truth. We are perfectly designed to live love, to move with grace and ease and embrace completion and simplicity. It’s just a matter of changing the energy source that powers our life. Thank you Rod for this brillliant blog.
It was really enjoyable to re-read this great expose’ of the human condition, Rod. When viewed from the perspective of an outside observer as you portrayed, it really does become blatantly obvious just how crazy and backwards human behaviour can be. What comes to me now is that perhaps the behaviour has to become more and more senseless and ridiculous to avoid the pull towards living in a way that is in line with that inner fire that Rod described which is constantly calling us to be our true self and let go of all those crazy things we use to avoid this.
The idea or theme behind this blog has been echoed in many a science fiction story… Perceiving the extraordinary bizarreness of humanity through new eyes… The thing is that when the veil is lifted from our own eyes we can see what is truly there to be seen.
I loved reading this blog again Rod, thanks for sharing a very clear picture of the craziness that our world is indulging in at present, but that will change over time more and more people open their hearts and minds to another way of living, one that brings in self love, love for humanity, responsibility and quality in our every day livingness.
Humans are only capable of hurting ourselves and each other when we do not like ourselves so much. We have disconnected from our own love and joy. In understanding this about ourselves, we cannot judge but only understand this about others. Whatever their choice, however unloving, is a choice made from lovelessness. How can this be changed? None other than the love we develop with ourselves in time, in appreciation, and with each other. The world is not insane, and craziness is healed with our self-love.
I love this blog. Yes we are totally insane if we are not choosing to live from our true essence of love. Anything else and we are totally off our rockers!
It’s interesting that when we look at ourselves as humanity from a distant point of view like a ‘cosmological being sent on a mission to visit Earth’, some behaviours appear to be obviously bizarre. It feels very healthy to review those behaviours and come back to our original light, which naturally doesn’t include any harm for anyone. A very different reading we would receive then!
Yes Rod, and even in the time since you wrote this, the insanity is extrapolating exponentially… And so it behoves us who have found, through the ancient wisdom, that connection with who we truly are, to be bringing that connection and that love to the world.
There is such a divide between the celebrity/rich/elite and so called working class/poorer/’less valued’ members of our society, and this separation is crippling and underlies a lot of the ‘insane’ behaviours you talk about in your article Rod. What makes someone better or more important than any other person in truth, when we are all made of the same particles, cells and makeup?
Life really did not make sense to me, I could see all of this craziness around me and could not work it out, now I feel so much more settled in my body not because life out there is getting any better but because I have a better understanding of myself in that I have a better understanding of others.
Many great points to consider in your article Rod, as lost as we may appear to be we can find our way back home.
“Love is the most powerful and unifying agent in the universe. And no matter how many reject it or fight against it, love is expanding on planet Earth right now.”
When you’re in the thick of it and abusing with your choice of medication you can’t see through the trees. Once you can, however, the feeling of being so lost and empty is really hard to feel. This is where we can start to truly build a connection of love with ourselves because of the honesty of where we have got to. Universal Medicine Sacred Esoteric Healing has been an extraordinary help not just for me but hundreds to thousands of people in healing the deep buried hurts.
“After drinking alcohol, many humans feel very sick and make solemn vows called ‘never agains’. But alcohol must affect memory, because believe it or not, within a short space of time they are back at it.”
This can be said for so many other abusive practices we may have. the ‘never agains’ is a complete self wind up, unless we get to the root of why we subject ourselves to this sort of abuse then we are just on a merry go round of irresponsibility.
I love the title of this blog, says it all really if we look at the state of the world today one would have to surmise that humans are insane. We just need to look at how we continue to have wars and destroy whole countries killing millions of people. How the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, that illness and disease is on the rise, that people are getting sicker and just because they do not have cancer they think they are well. How families and groups of friends go out for dinner and are all on screens and do not connect with each other. The list could go on but this is enough to see that humans we are quite insane.
We have a growing problem with drugs in the UK, it is really apparent, where as 20 years or so ago people would at least try and hide the fact they were out of it, unfortunately now it is so mainstream people are much more blatantly obvious. it seems it has become far more normalised. so yes Rob in answer to your question we are insane to have allowed this problem to get so big.
This is an awesome blog Rod that clearly exposes the irony of what we accept as normal in this crazy world but is actually abnormal.
Great exposé Rod. There were many lines that made me laugh and in particular this one: ” I found it quite odd how humans praise other humans’ bone proportions.” We really are ridiculous and this was a very playful way of exposing it. But underneath the laughter is a great sadness because this is the state we are in.
This really highlights how destructive we are towards ourselves and others, and points out the ridiculousness of our behaviours.
Far from what we are carving on the inside but are holding back due to the ideals and beliefs that it cannot be discussed or shared with another.
Rod, I absolutely love this blog, its choc a bloc of truths from what we are choosing, to the truth of us within all of that underneath. I feel it would be great to have an update from the Cosmological Being.
This is still one of my favourite blogs of all time -why? because it exposes the ludicrousy we live in.
What I have observed over the years is many people working long hours, not taking care of them selves, hardly having time with their family, then collapsing in a heap when they retire and then having to tend to all their health issues from living the last 30 years in disregard of their body…I would consider this behaviour nuts!!!!
Thanks Rod I had a few laughs at your humorous presentation. In answer to your questions. ” Are Humans Insane ” I think not, just a little confused.
I was recently offered the opportunity to consider a future world where there was no money. I had gotten to the point where we all got paid equally but the idea of no money, whilst delightful, made my head boggle! As you have pointed out we are very absorbed by money, the gaining of it and the ways we can spend it. We often use it as a measure of our worth, power and status in society. We also consider (quite wrongly I feel) that it can fix things, even though the energy within us and our life patterns haven’t changed a bit! Bring on the future when we have learnt not to base our worth around money and have put aside our greed and need for security.
I can feel how often fear about money e.g. not having enough has ruled my life and yes considering a world without it is challenging as it exposes how we have used it to mask other issues. When we connect to purpose there is no need of money because we are clear about what we are here for and can trust that our needs will be taken care of.
I love the name of this blog ”Are Humans Insane” We are so used to the way we behave we consider it ‘normal’ but any one looking in from another planet would consider us insane for all the reasons you have named in your blog…. and I consider our behaviour insane to.
Yes humans are insane! There must be some other player running the show, because surely if truly connected to who we are we would not be able to do the abusive things we do now.
We are not insane, we are just very lost. And this is an important distinction to make in that recovery from insanity can take a long time, recovery from being lost can be fixed in one second.
‘To counter this, they wait until they retire (which means they stop working when they are older) so they can relax and have more time with loved ones. ‘ It’s amazing how retirement doesn’t live up to all of the pictures we have held once we get there and realise that we actually love work and purpose and an eternal holiday is not all it’s cracked up to be.
Timeless and straight from the universe speaking back to us on the earthly realm Rod. On one – limited – level, we can see the insanity in the world today and blind ourselves to it; most people shrug their shoulders, ‘accept’ that level and enjoin into it. Then there’s the next level where we start to see the insanity and seriously question what’s going on – very healthy to do so. And then there’s another level all together that sees beyond this earthly dimension alone and considers what’s been lurking underneath and all around us all along – the stupendous Love that we are and that we avoid – and that we will eventually return to. Not because of any hope that simply keeps us trapped, but because that is our future, our inevitable way when we eventually say ‘enough’ to the devastation we continually put ourselves through.
More and more humans around the planet have made the choice to discard the abnormal, unloving lives they previously lived and instead, now live with self-care, compassion, brotherhood, service, love and freedom.”
A sentence that reverberates and calls, one that clearly states that living the old abnormal, is not the new normal, nore even the future normal, so the invite is there across the world to consider giving away the old abnormal ways that in no way show a life lived with Love from the body we each have guidance over, which is our normal way of living.
A great unpicking Rod, thank you for sharing. Your article goes to show that perspective is everything; when you’ve jumped in and invested in the rot it’s difficult to see a) what’s wrong and b) a way out, but if you observe life and not absorb issues as part of YOU then it’s easier to see if our behaviours are harmful or healing (so to speak) and make changes.
This blog highlights well the medications we seek to seemingly escape if not take the edge off the intensity of life and to what avail… it is humbling to admit the lies we have willingly accepted in society that are well at odds with the love and truth that we innately are – it is little wonder we have tension within when we have allowed if not contributed to the lies we breathe and live.
Taking a look at things from a larger perspective such as this highlights what is going on, and makes us question, what then is the greater purpose here?
I love the title of this blog – are humans insane? It’s a great question – I often wonder what life here would look like if you came from another planet – I can imagine them saying – “these people think it’s normal to be unhappy!” What if all the misery and suffering we have here is in fact not normal and we really are way way off as a species? We’d need to really commit to changing things ASAP…
I love the way this is written. It offers a great perspective on life here on earth and how ridiculous a great deal of our behaviours are. It offers many people food for thought.
Looking at things from this angle does highlight how far away we have gone from the loving nature we were born with, so is it any wonder people feel despondent and desperate.
Rod, I love this blog! You lay it all out on the line. You really show just how lost as a collective we are…’So to answer the question, “Are humans insane?” the answer is “No”. Humans have simply lost their way without comprehending how much love and potential they hold within.’
“On Earth I saw greed, corruption, obesity, malnutrition, disease, loneliness, disrespect, envy, disregard, anger, violence, murder, abuse, control, manipulation, separation and more extraordinary abnormal behaviour.” What a great summary of what is really going on for us on earth. We are so caught up in how ‘we’ want life to be, looking through our rose coloured glasses, so we don’t have to see what is really going on. I for one now look at what is really going on and feel that it is not pretty and not pleasant, but through living my connection with myself, it find that living with responsibility to who I truly am, is what this world needs to change.
Aha! When we hear the familiar question, “How we can fix the problems of the world?” can we afford to wait for others to ‘do something’ about it, or do we take inspiration from Raegan’s comment and joyfully step up and participate?
The amount of behaviours that we do that are so far from truth is amazing, why on earth we choose to abuse and hurt ourselves and others is something that we should deeply study. If we do, perhaps we can heal the drive of self destruction and live love in our lives. The world would change very rapidly when we do.
Humans in their full humanness of separation and disconnection are the most destructive beings on earth bar none. We seem insistent on carrying on as if we can only live like this when we all fully know that we are able to live in complete harmony with life and all living things. The chaos that ensues when we are not aligned to this glory is only evidence that we know the truth and live the opposite.
To look at every human creation, every twist and turn, every direction, every avenue of it and try and make sense of it, it is too complicated. The simple fact is it doesn’t make sense, but boy we know something must because in our inner most we know love, truth and order exists.
To have made so many un-truthful choices, we must be masters at truth – because to chose the opposite we must first know the original. My point being that we do know, each and every one of us, somewhere inside of us, EXACTLY what we are doing when we walk away from love.
Why is it that there are things we are willing to learn from (eg – if you touch the hot oven, you will get burnt); and things we are not willing to learn from (eg. If I eat this food I will bloat, or if I drink alcohol I will feel sick)… it goes to show that we are so much more than human and there is far more at play in our choices than common sense alone.
A beautiful exposure of the human condition but in this mayhem is the reflection for all to return to the love of who we truly are and this light today is reflected to humanity by Serge Benhayon through his living way and the presentations of Universal Medicine.
Observing life and seeing the ridiculousness of all that plays out is actually very needed in order to even begin not contributing to the mess – but instead something of simplicity and substance.
‘Are we Insane?’ One would think so if we logically set it all out , because the amount of anguish we create in the world doesn’t make sense. Why would we do this to ourselves? What else is at play? Serge Benhayon is the only person I have met that completely makes sense of the mess we are in, and also shows the way out.
It is very ironic that by shutting out the joy that lives in our hearts, we end up dearly missing it and going in to self-destructive behaviours, when actually all anyone ever really needs to do, is to choose that initial Divine Joy once again.
It’s also beautiful how you turned it around at the end of the blog, to make me realise how much I love people – no matter the choices they make – that is something that is not them. yes it’s okay to spend less time with people if the are making unloving choices that are then directed at you frequently, but to still hold them in love and love them, who they really are not the choices they make or the behaviours they display.
Very clever – I love this ” It appears that they use alcohol to escape from themselves. But why?”
“What would happen if a cosmological being was sent on a mission to visit Earth, morph into human form and then report back on its observations?” They’d be like ‘friggin heck – what a mess the world is in – I’m not going back there again’.
‘It appears that they use alcohol to escape from themselves. But why?’ This is a very good question. In the simplicity of seeing our behaviours for what they are, we are free to observe the absurdity that human life has become.
Humans have indeed lost their way … in fact they have lost their way for millennia… And yet there has always been a thread of ancient wisdom… always threading its way lifetime after lifetime is the lifeline for the return to the connection within that joins all the dots.
I love your breakdown of human life Rod. What is very evident from your blog is that something is definitely not working; we intoxicate ourselves, invest in shallow relationships, do our jobs to ‘get through’ and use competition and screens as distractions, and as a result many people are living with an empty feeling they can’t shake off… Are the comforts really worth it? What if it was actually easier to let this go and live a life of purpose, with less weighing us down?
“Are the comforts really worth it? What if it was actually easier to let this go and live a life of purpose, with less weighing us down?”
That’s a great comment to contemplate on Susie. Could life be actually easier without the comforts we carry around and burden ourselves down with? I’ve heard of ‘Stairway to Heaven’ – perhaps this is the ‘Doorway to Freedom’.
absolutely great comment Susie, and we have so many people trying to ‘fix’ the mess so to speak, we have doctors, nurses and psychologists etc but they too have become those that just ‘get through’ and Doctors have the highest number of suicide rates…
I love coming back to this very playful, but very accurate account of where we are in society and how we are treating each other and the world. It is so very true that if someone did look upon our planet, this is exactly what they would say.
The thing is , as 2016 draws to a close, the insanity is becoming more rampant … AND more overt… eg… the latest politicians being elected
Reading this blog there is no doubt that there are many ways in which we as humans are living would confuse anyone who would visit this planet. How mad it would appear and how often we champion this as the norm? There is no doubt that when we get to the basics and make all that we are about love there is little room to create or increase the levels of insanity that are so well depicted in this blog, but an opportunity to ponder on the madness and the possibility that there could be another way.
There is so much that we judge in this world, each other, ourselves. If we looked out at the world and choose to only see that mayhem and bedlam that is going on, we would just be caught up in that and see all the ugliness. But if we are loving with ourselves and those around us, we see so much more that is going on in the world.
Love is the binding factor which make us humans all equal and the same. We all know that how we live life here on planet earth is not OK, that the greed, corruption the abusive behaviours to oneself and to each other is not our natural way of being. We all know that from deep within but in a way are not able to step out of this unhealthy way of living and continue the unhealthy behaviours. We will do this until we find our way to our inner hearts, there where we can find a knowing that is far beyond that of our mind and tells us exactly how to live in way that is in correspondence to our being.
And the thing is that the disturbing trends of dysfunction in our societies are actually being magnified and in our political systems, as elections play out around the world
Love this blog Rod, I laughed much at the rediculousness that we live as humans, but understand the choices we have created to escape the emptiness we feel, from missing ourselves. Was I insane when I lived this way, no, just momentarily lost.
‘More and more humans around the planet have made the choice to discard the abnormal, unloving lives they previously lived and instead, now live with self-care, compassion, brotherhood, service, love and freedom.’ Yes this is the ‘new normal’ and thankfully so.
How often do we see the truth of who we are in the extremes of circumstances? The question is why are we waiting for the extremes know the love and care that we are and that we bring to others, when we can choose to make this our everyday and our every way.
I enjoyed this quirky way of presenting the irony of our lives here on earth Rod… it truly makes many of our behaviours quite ridiculous when looked at in this way! You have made the senseless make a kind of ‘sense’, however will we all make true love, joy and harmony our living way every day and bring the changes that humanity so desperately needs?
I always love to come back to this blog. A playful way to illustrate how very uncommonsensical our behaviour and way of life has become.
I look at the picture and I think of ants… yet ants manage to organise themselves in a very coherent way, all working together to do their part. The picture shows the exact opposite and unfortunately this is how it is in the human world. When will we wake up and see what is truly going on?
I am sometimes puzzled why it is human beings will to coo, adore and treasure a young baby, and not treasure and adore themselves. Why it is they would never pour a toxic drink into a baby’s mouth but consume the same toxic drink themselves. Supporting people to re-connect to and nurture themselves as they would a tender precious infant is a responsibility we all have.
We can resist and carry out behaviours which only delay but the outcome is inevitable… we will all return to love eventually. Patience is love.
When we only look to the behaviours of our human race you would indeed say that we are insane but truth is we are not, we have only lost our connection with that light of love that lives in us. Restoring and rekindling this inner light will bring us back to who we truly are and with that restore the balance in this world. That is the power we carry and it is highly needed to be lived once again.
It is certainly overwhelming to look at all our unwise collective choices all at once, but why have we consistently made unwise choices that would add up to such intensity? Because we have not confirmed ourselves or have been confirmed of how precious , loving, wise, grand we truly are, because we have chosen to support struggle and not true brotherhood, and yet, what we have not chosen, can be chosen now. Anyone who has felt the preciousness of who they are, who has confirmed themselves and felt the love so warm can express the same to another and another, for them to truly feel this about themselves.
There is nothing more supportive than opening the conversation with absolute honesty, the honesty of what we feel. And in the honesty of what you have shared Rod, it has allowed me a deeper appreciation and understanding of all of us as a whole, humanity. I am embracing even more of all of our choices, every single one of them, and I feel a closeness to people like never before. This is not to want to change any of them or their choices, including my own, to embrace my choices and continue to confirm the deepening of relationship with myself. It is through love, and only through love, will true change begin.
Insane NO! Not willing to work through what needs to be dealt with YES!
Awesome translation Rod! Us Earthlings do indeed live in the darkest corner of the universe but some of us are finding our way back to what’s real and true and makes sense – simply by discarding all the crazy behaviours and tapping back into the spark of love inside.
yes indeed… Insane most people are… That is in a state of mind that prevents normal perception… And then of course we have what is normal… Normal at the moment seems to be obese and hypertensive but is it a reflection of what our true essence can be… Of course it is not… We have the capacity to be a reflection of the divine nature that we all truly are and indeed this could be and will be one day considered the true normal
Well it does make you wonder if we are insane by just looking at many behaviours, whether it be politicians, and what is going on in the US at the moment with their election due today, or the everyday man on the street and the turmoil and chaos many live with.
Not insane but definitely lost their way is seeing their true potential. This incredible blog is a great sharing of how often do we stop to examine honestly how we are living our lives and the layer of protection we carry just to cope with the daily grind that is far from how we are truly meant to live.
Rod, you’re a legend. Thanks for the translation, but moreover the funny and accurate description of life on planet Earth. When you break it down and describe it the way you have, it really does make us look crazy. All the things we do to keep us away from just being a loving, sharing, harmonious global population. But as you rightly point out, there is fire within us all – and it’s good to know there are people like you who don’t mind letting it shine outwards.
Great title Rod Looked at from above it would certainly seem that humans are insane, and becoming more so since you posted your blog. Some are waking up from the illusion and discovering there is a different path to be trod – the way of the livingness – that encompasses everyone with love equality and respect.
When you think of all the chaos the world is in and the absolute craziness that still goes on then yes you can not but say the world is insane. Everyday we hear on the news such unbelievable things. We all have the capability to learn from mistakes and evolve yet this is unfortunately at present not the norm.
Yes we al have the capacity to learn from our mistakes. i was reading Tanya Curtis’ ‘OOPs’ book to a group of children this week. What was interesting was that they were focussed on not making mistakes – at six years old – rather than just going OOps and understanding that we all make mistakes and can learn from them.
I feel the answer to your question is a resounding yes – we are insane and my sense is becoming more so each and every day. We will continue to do so until we truly claim that “Love is the most powerful and unifying agent in the universe.” it really is and life is going to become more and more insane until we make this the foundation for all our choices.
I think its the retirement one that really takes the biscuit… we want to more and more, but as a result never have any time to simply enjoy ourselves and what we have already. We are already everything we need to be!
When we stop and observe the craziness that humans live in and with we ask the question – why? And Rod, you offer an excellent reflection on the human condition. “Humans have simply lost their way without comprehending how much love and potential they hold within.”
A great article to expose the ridiculousness and lovelessness of our choices…. and we wonder why we have so many problems in the world when this is our normal.
Great blog Rod, no we are not insane, however we are far removed from living in a way that is reflective of the love we are. It is great to remember we have a choice.
As a human living on this earth I often feel like an alien but it wasn’t long ago that I was also part of the strange behaviours. So I know it’s possible and each one of us will return in our own time, when we feel the futility and emptiness of a life lived in pursuit of happiness, money and identity, rather that living knowing we are Love, Joy, harmony and stillness already, it’s just a choice to stop the insanity
What a great blog on the world we live in today. I was having a conversation yesterday with a few work colleagues and noticed that we can so often blame and get caught up in the way things are not going right and forget to focus on the simplicity of what we all bring when we put this aside. There is an opportunity to bring greater understanding in many situations rather then get caught up in the rant and raves that often separate us from one another.
Great blog Rod demonstrating lightly, though actually the severity of our craziness should not be taken lightly, how there are so many ways we are living that do not make sense. It is as we make these choices time and time again that once there is an illness or disease, accident or similar trauma that we wake up and see the consequence of this craziness.
Yes we are definitely a little crazy or succumb to the craziness often but in fact when we do connect with each other and see the light ignite in each others eyes, we absolutely know that the love and light in them is all that is truly needed and all the other craziness we have signed up for is not real. We absolutely need to truly connect in this way much more, life would be so very different.
We are all Love yet we have lost our way, some further then others, ultimately we all know we are so much more then what we are currently living.
Returning to your delightfully refreshing blog Rod, has reminded me that, yes, taking an overview of how humanity looks it appears that the majority of us are hovering on the edge of “insanity” in one form or the other. But it also reminds me that there within every single one of us is a flicker of inner light, when once chosen to be connected to, has the power to pull us back from the edge, and to present to us that there is another way to live, a way where we learn to live in harmony with ourselves, others and this beautiful planet we are caretakers of.
It used to feel that we had definitely signed up to a collective insanity, but thanks to Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine, there is a voice speaking up for truth within the madness. It is not always popular, because the madness prefers to stay identified within itself, but at least there is someone out there making sense of the insanity, and confirming for so many the truth of what they had felt.
I love coming back to read this Rod, it is so playful yet profoundly deep in what you are offering us to stop and consider. ‘Are humans insane?’ well there could be a simple answer of yes, if you looked at the news these days and see what is going on across the globe, or we can say, we are not insane, just incredibly lost. We are so far away from the amazing, loving and wonderful beings we are, but life choices are not reflecting this amazingness consistently and across many countries. There are pockets of people who are though and that is worth noting here.
I love the question you pose here Rob, Are Humans insane? With the UK recently voting itself out of Europe and wanting to separate from the unity built I would definitely say yes that humans are insane?
I love this Rod such a great sharing on what humans have come to accept as ‘normal’ but so often is very far from the truth. Living in this way we all confirm to another that this is ok to live this way, when someone stands up and makes different choices that are loving and true we notice this, some judge and ridicule us but they cannot help but clock their is a different way and that we all do have a choice in every moment.
Beautiful Rod, a glimpse into the squalor and misery that human life has created here on earth and equally into the truth of who they are, the light that shines within but which has been forgotten or buried and lost in the darkness. Which means it only needs a light to hold steady its shine that will light the way out of the darkness once more for all.
Wow Rod – when we look at the world in this way we have to be honest with ourselves and ask how have we become so good at getting lost? At not being who we truly are and of calling in things to take us away from how simple things can be. This is hugely exposing and very relevant to our current way of life.
What a fun way to explore the madness that has become ‘the norm’ on this planet. When you lay it all out it reminds us just how important it is to live in an inspirational way, sometimes you can forget that even those little daily choices are important. Every choice is felt by everyone. The choice can either be one born from the little spark inside or the crazy greedy, violent and lost world outside.
In answer to your question “Are human beings insane” I would have to say yes, our behaviours our way of living are completely unnatural to how we should be living, so yes we are crazy, we are crazy because we have let this way of life go on for so long.
I have loved coming back to your brilliant blog Rod, and I don’t mind one little bit that it is rather long, as everything that you have said needed to be said to show we humans that so much of what we have accepted as normal, is far from it. But to know that many are beginning to “discard the abnormal, unloving lives they previously lived and instead, now live with self-care, compassion, brotherhood, service, love and freedom” brings a sense of joy and possibilities to a world that otherwise seems rather bleak, and at first observation, quite insane.
It is insanity. The missing link is putting love first, before everything else, and the whole game changes.
I’ve read this blog many times and have to say it is one of my favourites, there are so many beautifully constructed points about what we could call the human condition. It really got me to reflect on what is our most destructive behaviours, so much of it stems from greed, a desire to have more than we need. Isn’t it also ridiculous that we praise people for having “asymmetrical bone structures”. When it is worded as well as Rod has it really brings home the lack of intelligence in what it is we currently covet.
I love the way you describe money, we have become so used to having debt that we see it as normal to pay the banks thousands of pounds in interest on borrowing yet this is totally absurd when we look at in from a different angle. Mortgages are a relatively recent thing, my grandfather would never have taken out a mortgage whereas now we see getting a 90% mortgage as almost obligatory without really considering the impact.
Rod, this is a brilliant blog, I can see a short film being made out of this. It so aptly shows our total lack of common sense and intelligence and highlights the absolute mess we are entwined in.
A brilliant analysis of the collective mess we’re making of the true joy that is life, presented with a matter of fact-ness that can’t be ignored. Instead of clinging to hope we have merely to return to recognising the love we truly are and from there we can begin to live more truthfully.
Yes, Rod, even though what we do does not make sense and can be self destructive we all have a knowing of what is true deep inside of us and some of us know that the answer is to reconnect to the love that we all have on the inside and then what we do and how we are living may change.
A little crazy – Yes, but I am loving each one of them and the beautiful potential that is there when the choice is made to re-connect to the LOve they are. Thank Rod this is gorgeous.
Looking at the way we are living and treating one another through the eyes of a cosmological being highlights the insanity of how we are treating our brothers. We can and will slowly but surely find our way back through a commitment to love.
The one thing you forgot to talk about Rod, was humans and dogs – if we came from another planet to observe humans and dogs, then we would think it is the humans that are slaves to dogs for the humans are the ones that feed them, play with them, put them to bed and take them for walks and also open the car door for them so they can jump in and be driven around everywhere etc. etc.
Love your sense of humour Rod! And the key thing here is as you have said, that humans have simply lost their way without comprehending how much love and potential they hold within.
Awesome blog Rod Harvey, every bit of it is simply common sense. Is it possible that as humans we have forgotten to apply this very divine simple aspect to our lives?
We certainly do live within a chaotic world but as you say Rod seeing the glow or flicker in someone’s eyes reminds us that all is not lost, there is a simplicity and a grand love to be lived here if we choose it.
“Love is the most powerful and unifying agent in the universe” So true Rob yet as we all can see is not lived by humanity yet.. but in truth we can not stop it, we are all eventually destined to realise and live this love – such is the power of true love.
Rod, I love coming back to this blog – a definite favourite of mine. You have completely nailed how insane human behaviour is.
“Most humans have chosen to build protective shields to hide their light. They appear to be continually dousing water onto a fire that refuses to go out.”
Hilarious Rod, I chuckled reading this. How true, that we repetitively try to put out a fire that, like the sun, will never go out! How long will we continue this game for? I have (finally) realized the game I was playing and will no longer choose to perpetuate it, lighting the way for others to make their own such similar choice so that one day, we may know ourselves again in the loving harmony and intelligence that is our way.
So much of what you describe is insanity, especially when observed from an outsider’s perspective, one that comes from a place of knowing the absolute love that exists in the Universe. We most certainly have lost our way; not just some of us but all of us, lost in the fog of illusion. Thank God for Serge Benhayon holding firm to what he knows to be the truth, lighting the way for us all to re-awaken.
Until humanity really acknowledges the deep distress they are in, and unite as one can begin to heal the deep and awful separation that they have with their true selves, the insanity that we see daily will continue and indeed intensify.
I like re reading this article lighthearted but so true
What makes us give up on ourselves so much? When I was younger I had a problem with alcohol and would smoke, however if you asked me when I was a child do I want to pour and fill my body with poison when I grow up I would have said no. So how did this change? Lack of self-worth, self-love and not being shown how to truly nurture and take care of my body and self. The same for all the other people you speak of, I am sure if asked when they were a child if they would want to smoke drugs or become addicted to heroine they would say no. We have a lot to learn and also a huge responsibility in how we live and what we reflect to younger generations. It is also vitally important that we have an absolute and true understanding of energy as Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine teach. If I knew this when I was younger I know my life would have been so different.
I love you have brought the responsibility word in hear Vicky. Humanity to date has been living deeply irresponsible and has suffered the often devestating consequences of those actions. We need more blogs like these to knock out of the arrogance of thinking we are an intelligent race as only when we are loving and responsible in our actions will be a truly intelligent.
So much exposed here. Wanting more than we can afford (greed), putting poison in our bodies, wanting to escape from ourselves (I mean that sounds ludicrous but we have all done it at some point of our lives or still want to do it). In the last few hours I have seen pictures of devastation of the earth and what is happening including rainforests being burnt, a river smelling so foul in Mongolia that a shepherd has to cover his nose, dead sea birds tummies filled with plastic and waste materials and so much more. When I was younger I used to think that as I grew up I would see progression (although my idea of progression now thank goodness has changed to an understanding of true evolution since knowing Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine) better health, better homes. But it is actually the complete opposite. More devastation, more illness and dis-ease, more poverty, more homelessness. It doesn’t take a genius to see what is going on is not right.
Rod, I think they are! Humans definitely are insane as they are acting against their nature.
You’ve nailed it here Rod with an awesome blog. We humans have made a giant mess but there are many sparks around the world which are helping others to realise that the flame within is nothing to fear and is actually something very powerful and amazing.
‘The flame within is nothing to fear’. You’ve presented something fascinating Helen, in the way that fear can hold people back from shining their glorious light.
So where does that fear come from? Perhaps from the desire to desperately hold on to the familiar and the comfortable – the fear of not wanting to let go. Been there – I can relate to it – and it’s quite absurd when I consider it.
Fortunately Serge Benhayon has introduced precious healing modalities and building blocks to humanity, such as the gentle breath meditation, walking in presence and esoteric yoga to help us build foundations based on connection and love…which in turn can dissipate those false fears.
Spot on description of why hope is not what is required “Many humans live in ‘hope’, but the reality is that hope is futile because it is an intangible somewhere in the future. And the future, like tomorrow and like hope, will never come; it is always distant.” What is required is responsibility, commitment and heart felt decisions that consider the whole and not the self.
This is a big issue for us humans…”To relieve their agitation they put many peculiar things into their bodies…” Any tension, sadness, hurt, anger, you name it concerning the myriad of emotions that flood through us and we take on, and we reach for the biscuit, the beer, the cigarette, the gin…without considering that just possibly we are stronger than we ‘think’ and that the dis-ease we are feeling is a message to say things can be different and that what ever pain does go through us and however painful it appears to be we can actually handle it through observation and building a foundation of love and care in our lives. My foundation is there for sure and it could be bigger, however I do know that through it being there I have already handled very tricky situations without the tension, drama and overwhelmed emotions that once hounded me and consuming the comfort food and drink actually inhibited me from finding the strength required, any comfort felt was always short term. Self-love is what sticks and offers true sustenance not the cake.
The animals on our planet live more in harmony than we human beings do. We are the so called intelligent ones, but sometimes I feel the animals make choices that are more intelligent than ours.
Very true Mariette, animals don’t get lost in their minds, this is why they know when a tunsami is going to hit and head for the hills and we humans are still lying on the beach!
“Love is the most powerful and unifying agent in the universe.” Hear hear Rod. If the focus of our daily lives were about exactly this, there would be a very different society. Love being the foundation for how we are with ourselves and others. But what does this really mean? Being love, living love. It is all the self honouring things we feel and then act on for ourselves, not overriding that innate knowing within. Living from that place, not belittling it or others.
What a great read. When you look at what we as a human race choose from our own free will it is insane! It is like we have forgotten we have a choice and this results in incredibly irresponsible behaviour that harms not only the person choosing it but so many around them. I hold out that the internal spark will speak louder though, the more and more people choose to let that spark nurture a more loving and responsible way of living, the brighter and stronger the spark will grow and shine making love and responsibility normal.
I just loved re reading you blog again Rod, I just loved how you present truth, so well through humour, not offering at all, but certainly gets its point across, in a non imposing way.
I agree Jill – having just come back to re-visit this blog, I am enjoying reading it through several times . Love the humour Rod and how you expose our distractions and foibles so well.
I loved re- reading this blog, what is so great about it is, it’s so accurate. I have no doubt that there is someone somewhere having this exact feeling about how we live and choices ‘those humans’ make down on earth. We certainly have unique ways of living, ones that do not align with the natural rhythms of the universe and there is an arrogance in current man’s thinking, that we are the centre of the universe and that is how we live and think.
There is a very ancient wisdom that offers the same view point, that of humanity going around and around in a small fishbowl that it thinks is massive, and yet it is such a limited edition of the unspeakably amazing universe that we live in
I find your play-full approach to seeing human life very dissolving of all the seriousness and illusionary ways that are so commonly attributed to human life. It is very simply put that in the end despite all of the struggles, tensions and pain, it is all about Love and being that Love that we truly are.
This is an awesome blog to read, its lighthearted, and serious at the same time
You’ve covered it all Rod! There is both a funny and a sad side to what you have written but before I become too melancholy, I remind myself that there is a global group of Universal Medicine students who are really taking a lead in showing others that it is possible to shine brightly and to side step all the traps that us Earthlings have created to distract ourselves.
Awesome article Rod. As I read it I cannot but feel the debt of all these choices accumulating in our body and our planet as a whole. It’s no wonder our poor health statistics are escalating and we are having immense and intense social problems with all the imbalances these choices create. My question is how bad does the world have to get before we all wake up and do something to arrest and heal what we have created and presently continue to feed?
I love coming back to this blog, so entertaining. Like your writing style Rod
Wow – why did I leave it so long to read this?! You really begin to get a sense of the ridiculousness of humanity to an outside observer and then by a simple reflection realise that we have known this for some time but are just too caught up in the ‘craziness’ with everyone else to make the choice to be who we truly are.
Good point Michael, we have all been living in a way that says to another it is ok to act like this. Not many are claiming the divinity that is within. Thankfully with blog sites like this and knowing a man like Serge Benhayon we have a clear guidance and reflection back to the divinity we all truly are.
Thank you Rod for another one of your great articles, I love your humour, our behaviour at times certainly is crazy, and crazy because this is not who we really are on the inside. looking for love outside of ourselves when the amazing love we are, lives deep within.
Revisiting this blog Rod I get a real sense of how confused we all are – almost like rather than stopping to feel and make a clear decision that would benefit all – we try to make ‘everyone happy’ and this leads to complete and utter mayhem. Which way is right we then ask ourselves rather than coming back to the simplicity of feeling.
Yes, I sense this too Lee. We all try to keep each other happy and abandon the truth that we know and the love that we are. Definitely crazy.
A very entertaining read Rod, it appears love is the only solution to the mess the world is in.
Well we have tried everything else Joe, and look at the mess we are in – financially, socially and health wise.
I love your “are Humans insane” blog Rod. When we read about ourselves in a report from the “cosmos” it sounds horrific and when I watch or listen to the World and Local News it once again begs the same question of sanity! But we know thanks to Serge Benhayon and the teachings of The Way of The Livingness that there is Love and light within us all even though we aren’t seeing this demonstrated in the way many of us live our lives and the horror of war that ever seems to end. We are all needing to remember the fire within and live in Brotherhood, with all. Thank You Rod.
‘
SO very true Roslyn, I too love this blog and such a great question – are humans insane? Looking at it from Rod’s quite light and playful perspective it is a definitive yes. There is a question sanity when we watch the news of see what is actually going on in society, yet very few question it. They just ‘get on with life’. Yet there is so much more to life, that most of unaware of or choose not to look any deeper.
Yes Rod, welcome to planet Earth, … humans have indeed lost their way, and even more bizarre is when some comes, and with pure love shines a light onto the path of return back to their own hearts, to a return to feeling the wonder and joy and harmony of knowing our connection with God, that person is pilloried .. ah but they have a habit of doing this as well don’t they.
It’s funny but it’s true. Many of our behaviours are absurd and damaging. Many make no sense at all. Why would it be ok for a competition to elevate one to glorious heights and have many feeling awful? We know that the glorious heights don’t last and when it’s gone they feel awful. Wouldn’t it be better to find a way for all to know how lovely they are? Once we all start coming back to love, true love that cares deeply for all, then we will begin to stop being dangerously absurd and begin to know that we are all amazing and can all shine together.
Thank you Rod for sharing your research with us. I have often questioned just why we fight wars, kill and harm and belittle each other in so many ways, and still profess to know what love is. Without the Teachings of The Way of The Livingness Presented by Serge Benhayon I know we would still be locked in the dark place we have been in for thousands of years. Love will sin out in the end.
This makes me realise how reacting to and judging all the craziness we see in the world will only have compounding effects, leading to even more separation and even more coping mechanism to come out in all kinds of shape and manner. And all I can do myself is just keep choosing to connect to that inner spark as best as I can.
Humanity may appear to be lost but with this spark inside all of us it can only be a matter of time (or space;)) before we all connect back to ourselves and each other on a much more consistent basis till we are all in truth and love once again.
I love the line “they appear to be continually dousing water onto a fire that refuses to go out”. It’s true, no matter how much we dim out light throughout our lives, when we choose to connect once again the fire we come from, we find it is still burning brightly. Sure it takes work to clear all the debris that we have built up over time, but the connection to our truth is never actually lost.
This is a great line Joanne – we are in the strange situation of putting extra effort into delaying the inevitable and avoiding our joyful, loving way to be miserable.
So gorgeous Rod, loved this playful way of looking at where our world is really at. “Humans have simply lost their way without comprehending how much love and potential they hold within.” We certainly have lost our way and wouldn’t it be interesting if someone was truly to do an assessment of the earth. To then play back on every tv station globally, what the results were and why they assessed us in such a way. Something to make people stop and look at truly what is going on.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this blog Rod and your way of presenting the truth and craziness of how we are living with humour and compassion and understanding that we are not insane – just a little lost.
When you put it all like that Rod we do seem insane and the ridiculousness of human life would be funny if it wasn’t so disturbing. However the light within each of us is undeniable even when resisted or rejected… and if nurtured and expressed, has the power to heal the insanity.
Hilarious Rod, but I love the gear change into the poignancy of what we are all so pointedly ignoring about ourselves.
It is the stuff of great comedy, but also painful to face up to.
The line that really made my afternoon: “They appear to be continually dousing water onto a fire that refuses to go out.”
We douse anything onto that fire. Yet it continues to burn. One day we will stop.
This is a very interesting blog Rod, looking at the bigger picture from outside the human perspective. I would have to agree that by watching human behavior you would have to conclude that humans do not follow logic or rational thoughts, and do very little to work towards the very thing they want the most. It is easy to miss but that spark in the eyes is ever present, equally in all. Humans have deceived themselves, and all have participated in creating a grand illusion for each other. The spark in their eyes is merely a hint of our divine origins and this world is a stage for us to see that everything we create without the divine love of our forgotten origins will be horrible. But with that divine love, we can live heaven on earth.
Sometimes we are so immersed in the so called normal society that we cannot see things in perspective, like someone looking from the outside in does, and wondering what´s happening to human beings? and calling things for what they are in an unusual but very true way. It can be hilarious and it can be tragic, but it is not the natural way we are living as a whole. Great report of human life, especially when at the end you refer to the inner essence, not to forget in the middle of all the corruption, greed, selfishness and emptiness.
This is such an awesome article Rod, a great re read and in answer to the question posed by the title I would have to say yes human behaviour is insane! Thank God for Universal Medicine who though their presentations are making sense of it all.
It takes the wisdom from our cosmological being friend to hand it to us straight, ‘Love is the most powerful and unifying agent of the universe.’ Now question is, are we ready to comprehend exactly how much love and potential we actually hold within us?
Your article paints the picture very clearly Rod, thank you. The trouble is for most of humanity we are so deeply embedded in the way of living you describe that we cannot see how truly ridiculous it all is.
Rod I didn’t need to go to the loo or get a cup of tea although there was a bit there I had to swallow as I have been part of some of the craziness. But one day I looked into the eyes of a human named Serge Benhayon and saw a reflection of light and joy, like looking into what the humans call a mirror and I recognised me looking back at me.
Thank you Rod for highlighting what we do simply to avoid who we truly are. It’s absolutely crazy that so many choose to indulge in their hurts rather than focus on love especially self-love. “Humans feel hurt from an absence of love. Yet ironically, their natural essence is love, which is omnipresent from childhood. But humans shut it down and deny loving themselves. Hence the hurt and the abnormal destructive behaviours I saw on Earth.” This is a wonderful reminder and confirmation giving me a clear understanding of why people carry out the behaviours they do. Sometimes depending on who it is I can so easily forget where their actions are coming from and take it personally but when I see the bigger picture it makes so much sense.
I agree Toni. It amazes me the lengths some people will go to, to justify these destructive behaviours work. I have been living so ignorantly and arrogantly of the dishonesty taking place around me thinking it wasn’t affecting me and that it was not my business. Boy, am I realising now more than ever how saying nothing and therefore feeding this dishonesty serves no-one!
Oh yes when I read this I definitely feel that we are more than a bit off track.
I love your description of what alcohol does to humans – I know so many people who are convinced they are being themselves after a pint or two but I have watched many an intelligent man or woman go into a personality that is loud, argumentative, and not at all like the person I knew beforehand. I can see that for some it is just a small step into physical violence and harming themselves or another. The health service of many countries would be a lot better off if no alcohol was consumed, there would be far fewer liver transplants, far fewer road deaths and less accident cases visiting Accident and Emergency departments. I am not suggesting prohibition – we need to come to that decision for ourselves. Alcohol is a poison that chemically alters our brain function and our physical body, and perhaps Doctors can help by no longer saying ‘drinking in moderation is OK’.
Have you noticed that doctors who say ‘drinking in moderation is OK’ usually don’t mind a drink themselves? Often it may be an expensive wine…but the quality of the alcohol is still equal to the quality of alcohol in a cheap flagon.
And so the question could be asked…”Doctor, what is moderation?” And the truthful doctor could reply, “it depends on how much poison you think your body can tolerate in one sitting”.
Absolutely Rod this is a great point and totally undoes the supposed intelligence that sits in the chair before us answering the questions…
I agree Carmel, I always find it somewhat ridiculous that a poison that causes so much death, destruction, illness and disease is considered healthy if consumed in small doses. The old saying “everything in moderation” keeps people in the illusion that moderate drinking is OK as long as you know when to reign it in. The facts are slowly starting to rear their head – starting with “there are no safe levels of drinking alchohol”.
Great observation, written with humour and a plyfull-ness but delivers a strong message. Indeed its hard to see the incredibly stupid things we do to ourselves with alchol, but with the goverments giving out “safe Guidelines” for drinking its something that is going to take a huge shift in humanity to see the enourmous problems alcohol brings to the human body.
I loved the idea of a visiting inteligent being questioning our habits, one day we will all question these traits and many more.
This is such a classic blog!
It is really quite astounding how absurd our society has become in so many ways. Some of the things we just consider normal, if we really step back and look at them form the bigger picture – are really completely crazy! Insane!
Such a playful way to expose this Rob.
Thanks.
With Love,
Simon.
It is very healing in itself to observe what is going on around us – rather than being ‘in it’ so to speak. To observe we need to come from a base of connection within ourselves and then we can see more clearly what is going on around us, rather than absorbing or reacting to it. Observation is a choice and requires will – as it is common for us to live our lives so that we do not see and feel what is happening within and around us. This article whilst funny in the presentation, support us to see the absolute lack of common sense and harm that we are creating through the choices we make in our lives, and at the same time calls us to more deeply connect to who we are – thank you Rob.
I think many human behaviours actually are insane! But is it the humans or the energy that impulses their choices that makes them so? Is it reaction to their hurts that drives them to distraction? We really need to get to the bottom of what is driving our loveless absurd ways to start arresting them and reclaiming love as our foundation.
This article deeply exposes the flaws in our idea of what it means to be intelligent, for can we be intelligent when we disregard our bodies and have a deep need to better another, to use two of your many great examples. A lot of what you describe Rod is a disharmonious state and when we look at the animal kingdom this is not something that we see in nature. That we prop ourselves up with drugs and seem to be surviving rather than thriving shows to me that we are living less than the true intelligence that we innately come from. Time for a re-definition of what it means to be intelligent, because as you summarise, we all have a deep love within us, and it makes a lot of sense that we should start to let this love out, looking after ourselves and each other better would be a great first step towards this.
I love what you bring up here Rod that “Ironically, much of the money is needed to pay for more nurses, doctors, hospitals and rehabilitation centres to help these ill-fated humans.” government bodies are issuing licences to sell more and more alcohol as they corruptly get income from the taxation however as a society we are only getting more and more health related problems and thus much more of this money is having to be spent on the health care of the patients. Maybe it is time to go to the source of the issue and stop overloading authorising the growth of alcoholism.
I can fully relate to the building walls protecting the inner fire and at times pouring on the water… there may have been a drop or two whiskey in it, to insure nothing could escape for the world to see. Universal Medicine has allowed me to see the walls I have built and I have chosen to take them down and embrace the world with what I have been hiding… the tender, loving and gentle man I am.
What a thoroughly good read Rod, I Love it! Connection is the key number 1, and taking care is key number 2, to turn around much of the absurd things we humans do.
Are humans crazy? What a question. It was 5 degrees’s the other morning. I was dressed in layer upon layer and then I see a man walking in thongs. Now thongs in Australia are like sandles – your feet are bare, completely open to the almost freezing cold air. That to me seemed crazy. But then for this guy maybe he didn’t feel cold at all. So the crazy thing was not so much that this guy was wearing thongs, but that this guy was not able to feel. When we all actually feel so much, it showed me how crazy it is for us to numb ourselves to all that we feel and the harm that we do to ourselves because of it.
I know what you mean Vicky, as every morning I walk around my local park and to me it feels fresh so I put on a fleece and sometimes my autumn downy coat and on two occasions people have commented and said ‘it’s so warm why are you wearing a winter coat’ and obviously my reply is ‘I feel the cold’ but there seems to be this perception that because its August here in the Uk, it then must be summer and the word summer means hot, but is it actually as hot as we want to believe – in the mornings my body says no it isn’t.
I agree Vicky, and I also often see people wearing thongs in my shop when it’s winter and really cold. I asked a lady one day “aren’t your feet cold?” she answered “my feet? I haven’t felt them in years!”. So numbness is a choice we make and then we champion our numbness because it means we don’t have to feel. How far do we get away from loving ourselves and nurturing our beautiful selves. This part of us does appear crazy!
Beautifully observed Vicky the fact that we can choose through behaviours and activities not to feel what is so natural for us to feel tells us immediately that something is quite off.
That was a wonderful read Rod, thanks!
How crazy have I been?
Pretty crazy…and I see it…but there is a cure for us all.
With love!
Rod your article lightly pokes fun at the absurdity of what is going on on earth, and allows us to feel the enormity of the situation. However I love when the visitor looks into the human eye and feels the spark inside each and everyone of us. Therein lies the the way to resolve the big picture problems – lighting the spark within until it becomes a flame.
Great blog Rod not only is it a great read and humorous it highlights the fact that much of how we live is quite crazy and we deem it ‘normal’. This blog needs to be accessible to more of humanity to read so they can begin to wake up out of their self- imposed slumber and see what is really going on.
Rod when you write it all down like that it seems absurd, absolutely ludicrous. I could write about most of my life in the same way and it would be just as ridiculous as everything else that you have mentioned. I am so grateful to Serge Benhayon for standing out so brightly as a very real example of how it is to make different choices and to live a different way.
Wow Rod, I am almost speechless after reading your blog. I enjoyed your light and comical way offering us as the reader an opportunity to deeply consider the way we live on our planet and indeed, are we insane? I was thinking as I was reading it, yes we are. Then to get to the end and be reminded that really we are not, we have just lost our way. It almost bought tears to my eyes with the reminder that we all have an inner light and the simplicity of reconnecting with it and letting it out for all to see. Thank you Rod for a powerful piece offering much to ponder on.
Well written article Rod, I do see this light in the eyes of people when I connect and choose to see this beauty that is there. It is hard to hide because everybody is that love first before they choose to dimm and hide it with emotions, identifications and reactions to the hurts that they think the are. We are all coming from love, as a baby we knew this and felt it, and slowly chosen to hide it because we where not seen from love anymore as we grew up it became more about what we can do to fit into this system of existence in lovelessness. Our choice to feel this love from inside is key and answer to our quality of life.
Humans have indeed lost their way… Thank you Rod for translating this enlightening picture of us all… And yet the way is always there inside us all, as is the light, as is the love; always there just waiting just waiting for the spark to be let, the flame to be rekindled.
This post is so much fun to read because it is so true! As human beings we have lost our way and the quicker we realize it the better and begin to get honest and eventually truthful with ourselves.
Why human beings engage in all kind of self-destructive habits is worth posing a question and worth talking about the issue. One thing is very clear, it is a matter of choices based on hurts we carry and we want to avoid feeling.
So many ‘rituals’ in society do not support us “No-one is forced into these rituals. It is a choice that many consider to be quite normal because others do the same”. And yes many of us do continue to follow by choice, in over consumption of alcohol, cigarettes, fat, sugar etc as well as all the other drug and behaviour habits that cause life style illness and disease. I would suggest that if for even a moment we stopped to consider and feel in truth how these substances and behaviours feel in our bodies we would not continue to use them.
This is very well written Rod. It is so simple when we really look at how much crazy stuff we do here on earth. Great article loved it.
An excellent exposure of the human condition and beautiful to feel that spark of love that is in every person on Earth responding to the love of the Universe.
Brilliant report Rod exposing how we have simply forgotten to live the love that we are, from our essence within. And from this how our behaviours have developed and created the world that we exist in today. This is probably why this existence does feel so foreign as it doesn’t make sense to the inner-heart of our being. However there is another way, a way to re-turn to our Love, to live from this essence that we are and we can begin to live this way now. And as you beautifully said – “More and more humans around the planet have made the choice to discard the abnormal, unloving lives they previously lived and instead, now live with self-care, compassion, brotherhood, service, love and freedom”.
Absolutely true Carola, and this is the way it has always been. The Ageless Wisdom has been there for aeons showing there is a way to live with harmony.
The bastardisation of what is truly going on is apparent in so much we see, “collateral damage” is really murder, human trafficking is slavery, alcohol is poison, cigarettes are lethal, if we call a spade a spade we can start to see the true cruelty and insanity that has become our normal. I love how this article exposes the ridiculousness of much of what we live and accept.
I often feel, like an alien myself in this world! It’s only recently I have found others that do not support the systems in place and have found the Love you refer to and have chosen a different way to live, as you say you only have to look into their eyes to see their light and know they also don’t feel like they belong.
Love this blog. “It was easy to see what was wrong on Earth, but I needed to be more vigilant to seek what was true. I realised I had focused on what humans did, rather than who they truly are. I had neglected to genuinely connect and be totally present with humans when I communicated with them”. You as the alien fell into the same untruth all humans do when they are born in their full light and then buy into a life of identification and recognition instead of love. We grow up and define ourselves by what is untrue, we focus on doing instead of being and all this because we loose connection and conscious presence. Strong forces acting here, but as you said the fire is innate in all of us and it is just a matter of choice to ignite this fire and live truth.
Wow. This encapsulates the state of the world we’re in, ‘gone wrong’ somewhat, or as is so eloquently concluded here, a result of a global collective of humanity having lost its way and having lost connection with themselves. The cruelty and despair the world is wrapped in these days is acute, on the papers everywhere everyday the stories abound of behaviour that is so far away from who we are. Just like these gentle whales being slaughtered in the name of ideals and intellect, human beings and their natural tender ways are being sold out in the name of an intellect as well, one that has absolutely separated from the heart of man. The bridge back home is through our hearts, through our feelings that we can connect to when we are honest, not shying away from the truth of what is actually going on.
Rod, I simply love this and keep coming back to it. We are not insane but quite a bit lost and off track opposed to who we truly are. How beautiful to point out that our inner sparkle is always there and ready to be ignited.
This is lovely how you put this Esther – “..our inner sparkle is always there and ready to be ignited.”
Yes the *sparkle* caught my eye as well, Karina letting me feel that there is light amongst the darkness currently present in so much of our human behaviour. Choosing our love again brings more and more sparkle back so others can see the way.
Hi Rod, your blog is long but well worth a second read, and there could be so many blogs written as spin offs, take the opening observation about the monetary system, how mad ludicrous and crazy is it that on earth money and material objects seem to take president over Love.
I really looked forward to reading this blog and it was indeed a great read! What I got from this blog is to focus on what is there in every human being and that is Love. I sometimes get carried away in the devastation I see around me but this blog inspired me deeply to connect with everyone knowing that I am Love and that others are that too. So why live less?
I agree Lieke and Leonne, we can so easily get caught up in the ugliness that is everywhere and forget to look more closely and open up our hearts to what is really going on for people. When we do this, we see people who underneath their pain have so much beauty and sweetness even if it is not what they live. Seeing that in another offers the whole world a healing beyond compare.
Rod I just loved reading this blog again. It moved me to tears this time as this morning I had to call an ambulance for young woman I found innebriated and unconscious on the sidewalk. I felt the light your alien so beautifully described in this woman despite the efforts she went to to hide it. Thank you for reminding me that humans not insane after all.
Despite of all the craziness that is going on, the love is always there to be felt and seen. We just have to connect, open up and look into each others eyes to see and feel this. Seeing behind all the behaviors, patterns and choices that people make, love is and never leaves.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading your blog Rod, very entertaining and totally true, from the choices we are making, to the truth of who we really are. It does seem a little strange that we are all seeking the same thing, but try our level best to not attain it, when all through all of that, we are still it anyway. Love and it’s amazing ways, totally supporting us no matter what. You would think we would be more grateful.
I just loved this blog Rod and didn’t even need a cuppa to get through it; every sentence was a joy to read and there were a few giggles along the way. Seeing our life on earth through the eyes of your little friend certainly showed me that the way we are living as inhabitants of this planet is simply crazy, with not much common sense in sight, which unfortunately we have grown to accept as normal. In the end I am delighted that he was able to see the reality about why we live the way we do, and that he discovered the amazing light that is in us all. These cosmic words sum it up perfectly: “Humans have simply lost their way without comprehending how much love and potential they hold within”. I trust that your little buddy will return one day to see if we have found the way that we have lost.
Thank you Rod for such a cutting expose of the insanity of the way we live. It highlights for me that it is our minds that come up with all these crazy ideas that would be good to do and if we were to ask the body if it could speak it would say no. It begs the question why do we look for our solutions to our problems from the same place which created these ‘good ideas’ in the first place.
Love, Love, Love this blog Rod. Even though I knew all of this was going on, to see it through the eyes of another like this had so much more power. Your love for people is tangible. So very real.
What a great perspective. Really this does make us see that so much of our behavior is actually insane.
Thanks Rob.
So funny, but so true. Thank you Rod. This made my day.
Great blog Rod. It exposes all the behaviours which are not really us at all and that there is much love being lived now by so many. A reminder of how we have been in the past and how we can now live. A true miracle.
Loved reading this again Rod.
What a great way to express the ridiculousness of our choices in such a humorous way. I especially loved what you said about alcohol…that people clock and express the awful after-effects of drinking it swearing they wont drink the poison again… and yet keep continuing to time and time again! That is not an intelligent way to live.
Rod what a powerful account of what we humans are doing to ourselves without truly taking responsibility for the consequences on our bodies, the planet and each other. There is another way as every person has an innate desire to be loved and to love.
I found the first part of your blog very sad- it has the potential to be devastating to look directly at the choices humanity is making and the they way we conduct ourselves – it is a very self-destructive way of being and yet it’s not who we truly are. Thank you for bringing it back to the light and love we are- without this perspective and inner-connection we are deeply lost and yet to be found again is only ever a choice away.
We humans certainly seem to be on a merry-go-round where we continually search for a way to numb the pain and continue to seek ways to change how we feel. If we were to stop and get off the merry-go-round and search within we may find that life can be simply beautiful, as we offer ourselves a moment to connect to all the knowingness, love and wisdom that is ours for the asking. To reject the way life is can feel overwhelming, but that is just mind play and an illusion – it is as simple as we choose to make it.
Amazing, amazing amazing Rod – A humorous and truthful piece of writing that I loved reading. Everyone should read this!
I can imagine if children read this they would look at us and say “you crazy adults…you didn’t need an alien to tell you this, we could have told you.”
So much craziness and so much love available. Well said, in such a funny and entertaining way.
So much love and so much potential, all already in our very essence. Such crazy beings we are chasing something (for a long time) that we already have…that we already are.
Thank you Rod. This is a great expose of human life and our way out of the madness. I really enjoyed reading it.
The light hearted way you have addressed the very sad and destructive way of how most human beings are still living is enough to make anyone who reads this article stop and take an honest look at how crazy this way of being is. But then as you say Rod, there is a light within every single one of us waiting to burn brightly, in some at present that light maybe dull, in others it is a bright glow radiating out and touching others. That light is Love and no matter how many reject it or fight against it, Love is expanding on Earth right now. Those who know this as true, have a wonderful responsibility to shine brightly and they will inspire others to see and feel there is a joyful way of living, which they can also choose
I could read this again and again Rod so funny yet so sad at the same time to think we humans can act so insanely!
Utterly brilliant and so true! Its my second time of reading and I loved every bit as much as the first.
What a blog this is!! This is my second time to read this and it just gets better and better. This not so crazy human loves your work Rod.
And that’s what the extra-terrestrial discovered Madeline…that while humans might be somewhat weird, there are many of the ‘not so crazy ones’ who are indeed inspiring others to shine.
I would love to have a chat with the extra-terrestrial, Rod! There is something about the “not so crazy ones’ who inspire confidence and trust, or the ones who ‘used to be crazy’ but aren’t now and who saw what wasn’t working and changed.
To be love in an environment that is love-less is a tense experience. To live with this tension is not an easy task. But when I confirm this for myself, there is deep understanding for others, who are part of the love-less life, instead of reacting to it with more love-lessness.
I love this Rod! Beautifully exposing the ridiculousness of it all.
What an awesome piece of writing Rod, I loved reading it. You show how crazy and absurd our behaviours can be and how we try to justify them (and not very well I might add!) BUT also that all is not lost, that there is love inside each and everyone of us should we choose to connect and be inspired by it.
What a delightfully playful, yet exposing summary of human life. So accurately describing, what it is we call life on earth and actually the absurdity of what we classify as normal and how people choose to live. It doesn’t seem logical at all.
Quite a long list of aberrant behaviours that do not make any sense; put together like this, human life does indeed look quite insane and ready for admission. Not admission to an institution, but the admission and honesty that something is very very wrong.
Thank you Rod I loved you blog and at some points I did giggle. What you say here is not only true but beautiful “Love is the most powerful and unifying agent in the universe and no matter how many reject it or fight against it, Love is expanding on planet earth right now”.
Its brilliant the way you zoomed out here Rod to see how we behave. When you see the whole picture like this it simply is absurd. I can only agree that I too have seen that flicker. That light is LOVE and it is something I feel strongly here in you and every word you’ve written.
Zooming out indeed is the key for us all Joseph – zooming out so that we can truly observe all that we are surrounded by, what we have created and inextricably become a part of. The zooming out is essential so that we can all start to feel that we are not this stuff and behaviour. We have a choice and we have the opportunity to make that choice right now.
When you put it like this, it surely does make our life on earth seem crazy. And how, to the outside, the answers look simple but humans society has made it so complicated. This is a great insight into where we have come to but also a loving reminder that we all have that spark of love within us that we can connect to and therefore change it all.
Rod you are soo funny, thank you for writing this gem. Humanity has a long way to go but with the spark in each of us continually glowing, our reflections will light the way for all. I’d love to hear from your alien friend again when he comes for another visit to our planet.
Thanks Rod, certainly refreshing to know that I am not the only one shaking my head at the games we play in our societies, thinking all the while we are very smart, yet knowing deep within it is all a complete sham. Having recently spent a few days with the Vietnamese people of Hoi An I am inspired to see that ‘all is not lost’, that some of us humans have not completely lost the plot and are living simple, joy-full, harmonious lives. Though this remains steps away from living in the truth of who we are, it is nonetheless a start.
Lovely to revisit this ‘report’. Is is not too long, Rod, very readable and incredibly bridging. The ‘alien’ perspective offers a fantastic detached perspective to the reader which I feel really brings the truth of humanity home. An entertaining but insightful read. Thank you once again.
You have really shown how crazy is the way we are living Rod, and many of us have felt powerless and sad about the mess we are in. Knowing that we are loving gentle hearts and living this empowers us and gives us purpose. If we live this way, are we creating our future?
Great writing Rod. You have expressed the ridiculousness of our way of life with great simplicity and honesty. I hope you can publish this article more widely to help wake up a wider audience to the truth of our current situation.
Your extraterrestrial friend is very observant! Thank you for the translations Rod. Humans have indeed created an abnormal world which has at times made and twisted us into that abnormality to a point where we believe that that is life and that is normal and what we get given and nothing else. But as your friend so aptly put that is what we have done, not who we are. We may choose to get bent out of shape at times but now there are more humans living from that inner fire to show others how to get ourselves out of those pretzel shapes (The roles, cultures, genders and more identities than you can shake a stick at) and live from that fire within them also.
I love this blog because of the extraordinary truth contained within the humour, that we have such “vested interests” yet have to use taxes from substances that harm our health to pay for the care needed to tend to the resulting harm is one of the most glaringly obvious and most strikingly ridiculous occurrences of our time. What a crazy world we have made.
A light hearted take on what is such a prominent issue in the world; our lack of feeling love, and the tangents we go of on to numb the hurts.
An extraordinary piece of writing, thank you for translating Rod!
Written in context of an alien visiting earth was a fantastic idea, as it allowed me view the situation in the world with a little distance which allowed perspective.
The humour was a vital part to, as ordinarily I find the current state of the world and people to overwhelming and depressing to read about.
Exactly Thomas. Sometimes standing back a little and just observing allows us to see something more clearly for what it really is. The alien didn’t appear to have judgement either, just curiosity so he was able to see past the behaviour to the shining light just beyond.
This was sooooo worth the read. I love the way this is written, pointing out the farcical, ironic and the ‘just plain crazy’ way we live our lives with such gentle humour. I had never thought about it before, how Governments collect taxes from alcohol, cigarettes and gambling only to pour millions of dollars back into the health system (which is not coping!) What a ridiculous and pointless cycle we are trapped in. Returning to the love we are is the only answer that makes any sense.
Wow Rod, that was simply incredible- I loved the whole thing. This part – Many humans live in ‘hope’, but the reality is that hope is futile because it is an intangible somewhere in the future. And the future, like tomorrow and like hope, will never come; it is always distant.’ Just Wow.
Awesome Rod. It made me uncomfortable reading this to think how our choices as humans really do affect one another. I love what you present at the end though – it really is so simple and comes back to us making loving choices every day in how we choose to be with ourselves, and every body else. Slowly, but surely, we can get ourselves out of this mess – one loving choice at a time.
Rod this blog is truly amazing- and it needs to be shared with the world. What we are doing to ourselves and the planet is incredibly sad and you have shared it all. It all comes back to self love and brotherhood as you have shared and isn’t it beautiful that many of us are feeling to come back to this now.
Totally agree Anne, this blog needs to be shared with the world. Imagine it in a small book form ~ could become a series of stories all lovingly & humourously exposing where we are at and more importantly what we truly are and how we can get back to that.
A beautiful, grand, sweeping blog that covers so much of life on this planet, and these few words really struck me “Humans feel hurt from an absence of love” sometimes I am asked by my children why people are angry and why people get hurt, and this is what I tell them, ‘people are hurting and because they have become so loaded with this hurt, they have forgotten about what they are truly made of, buried underneath the hurts is pure unadulterated love.’ I know because I carried hurts with me and I was looking all around for something that was missing until I became aware that it was right there inside waiting to be felt. This is what I share with my children. A super blog to share with the world. Thank you.
That is a beautiful foundation for your children to grow and develop with Samantha. It would be wonderful to see it presented in schools.
Wow. This blog made me just stop and I was lost for words. It is real ‘stop the world I, want to get off stuff’. There really can be no argument after reading this that there is something seriously wrong with the way we are living. Yet despite all of this, ‘there is a light that refuses to go out’.
Awesome Rod
That’s right David Upfill…after reading this it’s hard to bury your head in the sand and pretend everything is ok in the world. But what keeps me inspired is the spark and light within me that now knows there is another way…and when I share that spark with other sparks of light they too see that they too can choose another way.
And those sparks ignite other sparks which ignite others until the light will be so powerful on this planet that it will override the destruction and devastation we see today. It will take time, but as the cosmic being pointed out, it is happening right now. And each of us has our part to play – which is what inspires me too Marika.
What an awesome article…I so enjoyed reading this. The sad thing is …it is all true. All this self destruction, us humans do to ourselves and each other. I know we’re not insane, but our behaviours are, which you have cleverly expressed. But us as humans do have a choice…we can choose to keep up with these insane behaviours or we can make another choice and choose loving choices, which can inspire others to do the same.
I really enjoyed your blog Rod, it does sometimes feel like we have gone crazy but great to know that no matter how crazy things can get we all hold the light within. Brilliant writing and brilliant reminder to shine our light as bright as we can, thank you.
I loved your blog Rod, the humour and joy in your expression while at the same time exposing how we live on this planet. I loved especially how you finished it off at the end. Great writing thank you.
Brilliant Rod. A gentle but powerful portrayal of the human condition.
Love it Rod, I was reminded of those TV shows ‘Mork and Mindy’, and ‘3rd Rock from the Sun’, though you go much further in making clear the ridiculousness of what we do to ourselves, funny but also crazy. Importantly you also recognise the inner light and love we also all have and our ability to connect to that and each other when we choose. “nano nano”. 🙂
Awesome blog Rod. The truth presented in such a loving way which allows us to stop and truly ponder on how we are choosing to live and why. So much to see and feel in what you have written, responsible we must be. Thank you.
Very amusing blog and playfully exposing (a tiny bit of) the insanity of how earth life plays out. Thank you Rod.
Thank you Rod for a great read. I want to ask every single human too, why on earth you do all the things that damages you instead of doing things that shows your powerfulness? I keep going.
Thank you Rod. Loved your blog. Full of humour at how crazy we are and can be. You are right, the light is in every human but it sometimes takes some searching for, but it is there.
Classic blog. It’s so awesome to know that despite all the wayward choices, the inner love is always there to connect to.
So true Tracy…the inner love, never leaves us…. it’s just waiting for us to reconnect to back to it.
“Love is expanding on planet Earth right now.” And you don’t need to be a creature from another planet to look deep into the eyes and hearts of your brothers and feel it and see it happening – yay!
I like your expression Diane, yes I can feel and see it happening everyday, since I am more middle in the cities work wise. I couldn’t believe this that I only have to look into someones eyes from my connection of love, there I can see a spark lightning up, the offer and invite is the love meeting this same love, it is that simple and with this connection to our love we bring a change to this world.
The light is so clearly seen in children. We just have to look back and know that same light is still there even if our choices have dampened it so much we have trouble seeing and feeling it. Small loving choices make us shine. Thank you Rod. Awesome blog!
Small loving choices make us shine. Love the simplicity and the accessability in this line Laura.
Me too Jacqueline and Laura – small loving choices are wonder-full and add up to become big loving choices over time too, and then becoming just loving livingness.
I love this Rod! Thank you for sharing from the cosmological being…. they are so spot on in every way.
This has always stood out for me as a weird setup and something I’ve never understood – “Many actors are very wealthy, yet insecure, although idolised by numerous humans. This is most peculiar, particularly as those who teach children and care for humans in hospitals receive little recognition and are paid very little.” Especially some actors getting astronomical amounts of money for something that does not truly support or offer inspiration.
The conclusion was beautiful, and one I feel, that if we stop and look past all the ‘outside’ stuff we would all see and feel the light in every person.
I always felt the same Aimee, that our values are skewered when it comes to actors or singers and have often wondered what true support or inspiration do they really offer, compared with those who teach children or care for people in hospital. I enjoyed the line in answer to the question “Are Humans insane… No… Humans have simply lost their way without comprehending how much love and potential they hold within. Insane No, A little crazy, yes”
Rod you have a playful way of expressing real issues within our world and how we live in it. We forget that underneath all the ways is a loving playfullness in everyone, it’s just that naturalness of being is sheltered by the illusion of life and the many ideals we have created. When we begin to strip away these ideals, the natural smile of knowing we are not really from here emerges and that we are light before we are human.
Brilliantly playful yet such truth in your words. Thank you for covering so many topics and writing it succinctly. I feel your observations of humanity greatly reflect where we are going wrong and I love that you took time to put it into words so that others can take time to reflect on what is being presented here.
I love this article as a take on humanity. It is all too true and something to share with the world.
What a great read Rod. You had me captivated from the word go as you effortlessly exposed all the shortcomings of our supposed sophisticated way of living.
Rod, like everything regarding human beings there is always a redeeming feature and you expressed it. Thank you.
Truth written here in black and white.
I have often called us humans ‘lemmings’ (little characters from a computer game that just keep digging, walking or doing what they’re doing until they fall off a cliff or come to some other death). As with your blog, I have to laugh!
What I loved about your blog was that it became evident that you have not given up on humanity despite much evidence one could easily tally up and make such a call.
Unlike the lemmings I referred to earlier, I agree with you that there are increasing members of the human family who are and have started to dig for the gold within themselves and are beginning to make wiser more self-loving choices
Thanks to the loving reflection of Serge Benhayon (no sign of a lemming there !) I too am waking up to see some of the ridiculous behaviours I too have partaken in. And, although it is still very much a work in progress, I am learning to laugh, let them go & choose a more loving way to be. With me and all others.
Love the lemmings analogy Pernilla and particularly enjoyed reading your last liberating paragraph. I’m with you!
‘The fire that refuses to go out’, such a lovely unifying comment. For many it is buried so deep within themselves that their behaviours of corruption, greed, deceit and manipulation cause untold hurt for many people. These behaviours only show how far we have strayed from love and truth.
Hello Rod, I love your metaphor of “a fire that refuses to go out”. Thank you for writing this, I very much enjoyed it.
Thank you Rod for confirming my suspicion that WE are the extra-terrestrials here! Perhaps we are at odds with our bodies, our environment and each other because we are yet to acknowledge this fire that burns within regardless of our futile attempts to put it out. Hey, that’s not such bad news…
I simply had to come back for a re-read! It is so well written, with humour but also reflecting the truth of life currently on planet earth!
This is a brilliant piece of writing Rod. You’ve captured the truth of the rot in society and how crazy it really is. Seeing it spelt out with a lightness here, allows us to see the utter mess we’re in. Yes it’s insane when you look at it like this. Perhaps this is why other life forms haven’t come our way? Hardly an attractive holiday destination. I loved how you rounded up, without judgement, in what your out of space buddy discovered, for “within every single human on Earth, even the most disturbed, is a light: an inner-fire just waiting to be kindled.” This is so beautifully put. Knowing this love is within us all and is “the most powerful and unifying agent in the universe” surely change is possible…
Loved the blog Rod, not only entertaining but true
I absolutely loved this article Rod! It was smart, entertaining and witty but most importantly so accurate. What majority of people do to themselves and to others in the world today is baffling and i know it often made me feel lost, unsure and afraid of our future. Now being shown another way by Universal Medicine and the support offered by Serge Benhayon has made me more aware and given me more understanding of the reasons behind peoples actions and reactions.
Thank you for this article Rod!
I loved reading your blog Rod; a very humorous and witty take on the human race we all belong to and how we live in the modern world. Whilst reading I could feel the absurdity of the choices we make , individually and collectively. Hopefully more and more people are beginning to realise that there is another way. Thank you Rod.
Yes there is another way! I am so glad to know this other way and have found it , thanks to Universal Medicine and Serge Benhayon! It is inside of me and everyone can choose this way as well.
I loved reading this playful blog, I couldn’t stop reading it. It is craziness for us to blindly follow each other into self harming behaviours and insane that our leaders take advantage of this. I would very much like for you to visit the Aliens home and report back to us on how they live on their planet.
Rod I Love your article. It really gives you an outside perspective to our so called ‘perfect’ world, because it’s not perfect it’s actually ‘a little crazy’ 🙂
Rod, the play in this blog is great. It is important that we look upon these issues lightheartedly whilst also understanding the seriousness of them. You have managed to do this very well. I love your conclusion, yes, we have simply lost our way.
Rod, thank you for translating this report from our cosmological buddy. He is a good and clear observer. When you sum it up, like our buddy has done, it becomes so clear that we loose our way, that our lives and communities become dis-harmonious because we are living disconnected form our inner-light, the love we are so desperately searching for.
Just a little crazy? Maybe the real curse is in being ‘normal’ , where everybody does what they see everybody else do without ever feeling for ourselves and in our body whether something feels right or not.
As human beings we all do crazy things in our life, and one was taking up the bad habit of smoking.
It seems at last people are coming to realise the great harm it does to the body.
I am sure Rods cosmic friend will be very pleased.
I love this. Thank you for reminding us of what lies underneath the craziness we experience and witness.
Great read Rod, a light-hearted way to expose the behaviours of most humans which are seemingly, a ‘little crazy’! Please report to your cosmological friend not to despair, we will all have that fire rekindled and burning bright one day.
Thank you Rod, a lighthearted and witty approach to many serious issues. The question begs to be asked that if we are ‘under the influence’ of money, drugs, alcohol, food, power etc, then we must be under the influence of something that is making us choose these behaviours and make these choices.
Good point Mathew. We can be arrested for being under the influence of drugs and alcohol, but how can we arrest the cause of those behaviours? Perhaps the clue is to focus on that ‘spark’ of love within each of us that the alien refers to.
I felt that in my body Rod ‘Perhaps the clue is to focus on that spark of love within each of us…’ – expressed from a loving and wise man.
When I re-read the articles, I recalled the old despair and emptiness with which I used to look at life where I viewed all the visible and superficial aspects of the world as the only things that exist. Looking back I can see the level of giving up and closing down. It was such a blessing when I was inspired to reconnect deeply to my heart and to remember that love is my true essence, our true essence.
I love the ending of this article, especially “Within every single human on Earth, even the most disturbed, is a light: an inner-fire just waiting to be kindled. For some the light is dull, for others it is a bright glow radiating out and touching others. That light is Love.” A great article and important message.
Rod, this is a really interesting take on the way we live, it turns so much on it’s head. I loved the opening topic, ‘Many humans in ‘advanced’ western cultures are pre-occupied with money. The more they get, the more they spend. Most appear to spend more than they have, then borrow more money from institutions that charge more money to do so. This is called debt.’ This is such a crazy concept and what boggles my mind is that there is no limit, no matter how much money someone has, it seems it is never enough.
I concur with Jane…. I would like to hear more from the “alien!” Rod, you offer a unique humorous expression in observing humanity and our choices, whilst writing with understanding and compassion. Your view allows us to look at ourselves from another angle. Thanks for writing.
Your opening paragraph about money and greed is a blog in itself, this has got to be one of the maddest setups in all the known universes. The more money the institutions print the more debt is created. We know this cannot go on forever and I don’t think it’s going to end in a good way. Greed is the factor at the heart of the problem. I wonder what makes us humans want so much when some, a small percentage of the world’s population hold so much wealth they could never use it in a million years while they watch their brothers die from hunger and disease.
“After drinking alcohol, many humans feel very sick and make solemn vows called ‘never agains’. But alcohol must affect memory, because believe it or not, within a short space of time they are back at it.” Reading this made me giggle, such amazing awareness and playful observations, that are in truth very real. Great blog Rod, when it is exposed in this way it is clear that there is something very crazy going on.
I wonder why some people choose to abuse their bodies in such an abusive way over the Festive Season? Maybe if the authorities video their behaviour and showed them, if they would then feel it is acceptable or not.
Great way to expose life on earth as it currently is; but there is definitely another way, because as you allude to at the end, there is so much more to us (our being, or essence) which is not currently accounted for in the world’s systems and the way that life is operated. Once we acknowledge and accept the grandness of our essence, life on earth can develop accordingly to be a truly joy-filled and harmonious affair.
Since you ask the question Rod, it does indeed appear that human’s are insane. One only has to look at health professionals or doctors who drink or smoke, fully understanding the damage and harm that it is doing to their body. Or people with diabetes who continue to eat foods containing sugar knowing full well it could lead to their leg being amputated, and, or loss of sight. What is really going on here?
A beautiful article thank you Rod , and I agree, ‘Humans feel hurt from an absence of love. Yet ironically, their natural essence is love, which is omnipresent from childhood. But humans shut it down and deny loving themselves. Hence the hurt and the abnormal destructive behaviours I saw on Earth’.
How great that some people are now inspiring others to live a more loving and caring life.
I love this blog. It exposes the ridiculousness of how we live. I love how you have exposed how the common choices made on a daily basis are simply to avoid and shut down the natural love that we have inside. When observed like this it seems absurd that we are avoiding the very thing that we are craving for. So well written, thank you.
Thank you Rod for an amazing read – I feel deeply touched by your take on humanity and your love for each and everyone of us. It is easy to give up on the world and think it is all too hard but you have given a fresh and beautiful perspective that should never be forgotten – “In a moment of revelation I recognised that within every single human on Earth, even the most disturbed, is a light: an inner-fire just waiting to be kindled” Just beauty-full. Thank you again.
A humoristic and playful view from a distance on us human beings. Reading it like this magnifies the crazy things we do to forget how tender and precious we actually are. And how there is only 1 thing in our lives we all want: LOVE.
Did your cosmic being notice porn as well? The craving for intimacy?
How can we get people to take more responsibility for their bodies and not keep taking drugs.
We all have free will, but also know what harm any drug can do to the body and mind.
A great and funny article showing the craziness of human beings.
I say thank you Universal Medicine as, ‘More and more humans around the planet have made the choice to discard the abnormal, unloving lives they previously lived and instead, now live with self-care, compassion, brotherhood, service, love and freedom’. Thank you Serge Benhayon for showing us there is a different way to live our lives here on earth, a way that is joy-full, beauty-full, truth-full, harmonious and loving.
Hear near Lorraine. A huge gratitude to Universal Medicine for inspiring so many to take a very real and honest look at the craziness that we have accepted as normal.
There is so much understanding, and so little judgement – and that is what allows the ending to be so heartfelt and positive. Beautiful.
From the perspective of someone who does not take the existing status quo for granted (our alien friend), it is absolutely incredible what we put up with. What we have allowed to continue just because it is what has always happened. Its as he says towards the end – that light is still there, but we have given up on bringing this out. Time for a step change for us all to reconnect to the spark, stop allowing what is currently going on, and start making just simple, honest, truthful relationships out in the world,
Yes Rod I remember on several occasions making those vows ‘never to drink again’, and what did I find myself doing days after that new found realisation – back to having more alcohol. Thankfully I got to a point where I truly wanted to stop it and as hard as it seemed to be, I stood strong in what my body was telling me and stopped. To this day I can honestly say it’s been one of the best things I have done for myself. I feel Amazing after letting go of this controlling drug.
“After drinking alcohol, many humans feel very sick and make solemn vows called ‘never agains’. But alcohol must affect memory, because believe it or not, within a short space of time they are back at it.”
This is very funny and at the same time conveys what really does go on and the lack of true intention to make a change when we say “never again’.
Hi Michelle…I guess many intentions are made that feel true at the time, but fall over later.
At least we can determine the strength of our intentions by seeing if we continue to repeat behaviours that we had previously declared not to.
Which leads me to observe that I have been a particularly slow and ill disciplined learner at various stages of my life.
Often the intention is true but we often don’t have the support to make the loving choice to stop. That is what was so brilliant when I started attending Universal Medicine presentations, they made sense for me of why I was making a knowingly harming choice and it allowed me to follow through quite easily on the committment to stop drinking.
Rod it is true, how humans live in hope for most of their lives. I was one of them for many years, hoping life would change if I did this or that, or believed in a particular belief system. I got caught up in culture, rituals, belief systems, but very little changed, the hope was out there in the future, there was a lot of sadness, resentment, jealousy and comparison. When I met Universal Medicine and as I started to understand that I first had to start to love myself and work on healing my hurts and emotions, only then through living with a truth in my body my life would change. Only 4 years into working on my self love, my life has changed amazingly. I have a more greater understanding of self love. More beautiful opportunities have come into my life with this greater understanding. As I work on living in the now and working on my self love, my dreams and hopes are turning into reality, Sadness, resentment, jealousy and comparison have all nearly faded away.
Amita, I can also say that I used to live in hope. The present wasn’t a happy one, but I clung onto the fact that things might change in the future. Things never shifted and I also experienced a lot of sadness, jealousy and comparison. When I started to heal what I felt has hurt me and began to become more loving towards myself, everything shifted. I can now whole heartedly say that I rarely experience the emotion of “hope” any more because I feel content and fulfilled in life. As Rod has said, ”Humans feel hurt from an absence of love” but by restoring the love in me everything has fallen into place.
Rod, your humour is priceless ! I loved reading your blog exposing the life that is lived on planet Earth. From a distance it does look completely crazy but it is a real account of what we see around us everyday. All is not lost though as the fire is burning in all earthlings and there is that love in everyone of us.
I love reading this article. It is profound in its observation of the ways we are living as a humanity and what we are accepting as normal, although on closer examination we can see they do not make sense. And it is deeply loving in its observation and appreciation of the great love and potential every person holds within.
I just loved rereading this Rod, it is so beautiful ” I realised I had focused on what humans did, rather than who they truly are.” and that love is who we truly are we just need to remember to reconnect to that eternal flame! Gorgeous.
“Love is the most powerful and unifying agent in the universe. And no matter how many reject it or fight against it, love is expanding on planet Earth right now”. I love this, it makes me feel that there is a huge ball of love gathering momentum and speed with every breath. We are living in a world where love is behind us every step of the way, and with every move we make that is truly loving, it gives way to an expansion of love that can be felt by others.
A great analogy Jenny.
Hi Rod, this is such a delightful way of ‘reporting’ on humanity and the crazy way we are living. What I enjoy is that it says it as it is, but also focuses on the light, ‘Humans have simply lost their way without comprehending how much love and potential they hold within.’
Carmel thanks for highlighting that quote, to me it’s ironic and inspiring at the same time.
Hi Carmel, thank you for sharing this line again, what really stands out is “how much love and potential they hold within” – we all have this.
A beautiful blog Rod and so spot on. Thank you.
I agree about the craziness Ariana… and how, if we take a step back, we can see what is really going on in the world and the part that we play in that. Yet more so, by opening up to the love that is naturally within us, we as individuals will ‘light up’ and through our inspiration, ignite the flickering flames in those around us – in turn they will do the same. Pretty neat aye!
And the list could go on. We are in a mess.
Yes we are Vicky but the light of love that glimmers dimly or shines brightly is there within us all and will bring us all back home.
I love the fact that after listing a whole load of unimpressive human dynamics, instead of judging humans harshly, or giving up on them, the concluding remarks are: ‘Humans have simply lost their way without comprehending how much love and potential they hold within.’ This is a wonderful way of viewing everyone in all situations – with love and understanding.
Great point reiterated Golnaz, imagine if we truly met everyone like this, with this love and understanding – where would we be? Perhaps as Rod says…. ‘discovering how wonderful life really is!’
Yes – no giving up in this take on the human condition
I love the lightheartedness of this blog. Though actually very serious and true. Thank you Rod!
Rod this is totally brilliant. Its filled with humour but is actually a very true reflection of humanity and the craziness of life. It is a sad reflection that we choose not to live the love we are but as you say ‘Humans have simply lost their way without comprehending how much love and potential they hold within.’ And we will all find our way back to the love we are.
This is a great fun insightful Blog, thanks Rod
Rod and Cosmo Buddy. What a great article on the abuse of our bodies by drugs. I have been down that road of not loving myself and not really caring for other people. I thought the use of alcohol and tabacco would take away all my pain and I would come out the other side a different person. Who was I kidding?
It took me many years to realise the harm I was causing myself, but also to other people.
I suddenly got a wake up call to tell me that I was going down the wrong road, and I needed to change direction – well I did and boy do I feel great.
I loved reading this article, Rod. Writing from the perspective that you do, brings new insight to the insanity in human life.
Fabulously funny blog Rod! I love your playful observations inviting us to ponder on the craziness of how we live. Writing from the alien perspective really does expose quite clearly how lost we have become as a human race.
I Love it… did not need a cuppa, I was gripped from the beginning right through to the end. So inspired, to write with pragmatic observation concerning what is happening on this planet. “In a moment of revelation I recognised that within every single human on Earth, even the most disturbed, is a light: an inner-fire just waiting to be kindled. For some the light is dull, for others it is a bright glow radiating out and touching others. That light is Love.” It is there in each of us and I feel it more and more as I accept myself and accept where others are at… it is available for all because it is inside all. Thank you for sharing this blog, it is a mammoth exposition, fantastic.
What and how this has been written so playfully, is relatable for everyone whether human or alien! The mess we are living in throughout the world cannot be denied when presented in this way and it seems in trying to cope and manage the mess we will keep making more mess until we stop. I am learning I have a responsibility to stop and ask, “Really, what is going on here?” and am beginning to clear up my corner, so changes can happen. Thank you Rod.
So true Julie. When we do stop and honestly ask “what is going on here?”, it invariably brings it back to ourself, we deepen our understanding and start to truly make a difference. But when we rush in to fix the mess we are still in the same mindset and drive that created the mess in the first place, we end up in effect simply rearranging the furniture which may look better for a while until the holes start to show again.
Through the eyes of our Alien friend I just playfully saw the futility of going round and round repeating the same behaviour hoping the result will be different!
This is awesome. Very enjoyable and packed with insights. It reminds me of the innocence and to the point observations that children often make which has the power to stop you in your tracks if you take a moment to really consider what is being reflected.
Hi Rod, I love your playful way of writing. Through the eyes of a cosmological being, the behaviour of the humans on this beautiful planet we know as earth, would certainly be a puzzle to them as it is to the present occupiers. When its all written down like this, it does seem a ridiculous way to carry on and highlights what we now see as normal.
Agreed Julie – it does make it all rather ridiculous. I love how Rod has brought in the simple truth of – “Humans have simply lost their way without comprehending how much love and potential they hold within.”
This was indeed worth the read!. With a playfull touch you have brought to light how …”losing our way”….. make us ….”a little crazy”……
Thank you Rod for such a brilliant article.
Wow Rod your cosmological buddy sure has a great perspective. It really does take the ability to look at life objectively and from a distance to get the best view. What a mess we are in. He really has our number. Really glad he saw the light and truth in each and everyone of us. That under all of these layers there are billions of beautiful luminous beings waiting to emerge. Beautiful thank you.
I really loved reading this. It’s so playfully written I found myself laughing at parts where I thought you’d covered it all – and there was more! I love the way you’ve pointed out the (vast) majority of aspects of ‘human life’ as we know it – and just how ridiculous it is. Crazy even. I was particularly inspired by the cosmological being spotting that there was a flame within even the most lost humans – that can never be doused. Great read – thank you for sharing Rod.
I love returning to this blog, funny, playful and highly accurate. It is beautiful to expose the ridiculousness of our choices and the games we play with ourselves and others. Our natural essence is love, that is so true and can be felt in every interaction when we let others into our lives. With Universal Medicine I have been learning to let others in and cherish the connections we can all make if we so choose to. That for me is what life is about, thank you Rod.
Amazing refreshing take on the world and its absurdity! Loved it, thank you for sharing! And so beautiful to feel the true flicker and flame within us all at the end underneath. So refreshing and capturing so much of human life and the real love in the universe that is always there and so powerful.
Loved the Blog Rod. You have captured the absurdity and futility that we live in and yet just around the corner is a true life that has none of these crazy things in. Next time you see the Alien could you say thank you and ask him/her to come back in a another few hundred years and see if the world has woken up to his words. “love is the most powerful and unifying agent in the universe”
Rod, I loved your blog, your stye and your question! Are humans insane… NO, but is our human behaviour insane,… YES! It is so true what you have written, when we connect to our love and potential within then the ill behaviour will heal.
Another amazing piece. Makes me want to hire a UFO and a green suit and then drop millions of this article from the sky. Then watch whilst everyone below reads with wonder and amazement what the alien newspaper has to say. Put in black and white like that there is very little to argue with, only oneself and one’s choices.
Thanks Rod it was well worth the read. As you say more and more of us have made the choice to discard the abnormal, unloving lives that we previously lived and instead, now live with self-care, compassion, brotherhood, service, love and freedom and that number will just grow and grow. It’s the only way out of the insanity.
Sounds sane to me Kevin!
Thanks Rod, this a brilliant article, humorous and true.
Well, when you look at all of it in this delightful and amusing way, it IS ludicrous the things we humans do, and only serves to delay the discovery of our own inner light and love, ‘Love is the most powerful and unifying agent in the universe. And no matter how many reject it or fight against it, love is expanding on planet Earth right now.’
Well said Carmel, a great article by Rod written in a way that shows us just how crazy humanity is with the choices we as a whole are still making. This should be the topic of debate in government!
And in that moment when our alien visitor stopped and gave himself the space to feel what was going on behind all the madness, truth was found. That is all it takes, a moment, just to reach beyond the superficial, to the spark, equal and divine, that is in us all. Thank you Carmel and Rod.
Absolutely Matilda.
Well said Carmel, we “delay the discovery of our own inner light and love” by all the distractions available on Earth. How about we go straight to the point and BE LOVE.
Thank you, Rod. With humour and sweetness you have blown the lid off the madness of our choices…perfect.
Rod this is such an awesome article.. a must read for all. Thank you.
‘That light is love’ says it all. This is a beautiful article clearly showing the craziness of how most of the world exists. There is another way and it is by kindling the light that is love. Thank you Rod.
Well Rod, that is a brilliant piece of interpretation you have done on behalf of the alien observer! It certainly shows the extent of the insanity and as you so beautifully expressed at the end, that every human being beneath the madness, hurt and protection is an amazing light of love, glowing – just waiting to be connected to and with. Gorgeous – no hope, just now and connection to that innate glow! PS TELL THE ALIEN we are super pleased he came and shared what he observed with no judgement but the love of the universe that we are equally a part of. PPS Also tell the alien that there are many dedicated to the truth and living love. He should revisit in a few years and give an update, – no hope required, there will be more light glowing from earth, and one day it will be a bright star in the universe.
I’ll pass your messages on Vanessa… if and when my alien buddy contacts me again.
I love this Rod. A great observation of the little ways of men and the choices we make to perpetuate the craziness when all along the simplicity of life is right here for us to connect with and live. Awesome.
thanks Rod – covers many bases! So much that we do does not make sense and I have certainly lived that way too! That there is a different way to live based on love eluded me for many years – yet it has been the best discovery of my life without doubt – it changes everything.
Yes this blog exposes so many of our madnesses whilst also leaving it open for us to explore the many more, knowing that the answer does not lie in finding solutions but in surrendering to the love within us all. Living that fact changes everything. Thank you, Eunice and Rod.
Rod this is really beautiful. It’s extraordinary how much Love there is and how much we try to fight it by these silly behaviours you describe. Seeing it all as a way we resist Love is extraordinary! Imagine front page news: Humans Resist Love by Harming Themselves.
I like your headline Shevon (although it may be a little while till we see it published). I’m also looking forward to headlines from a few journalists along the lines of…
‘I was wrong and so was this newspaper for publishing so many lies’
‘Oops… I really stuffed up and I am so sorry for doing so’
(Mmm… might be a while)…
Rod, your article is simply fantastic! I had such a pleasure reading it. How playful and yet truthful you show all the insanity of human race. I like that you write it from the alien point of view (it could be a child’s view also)-so detached and innocent, just seeing things for what they are without judging them. And the final piece about love is simply beautiful.
I had the same idea as Shevon – it would be so great to see articles like yours on the front page of the newspaper – instead of celebrity’s second marriage. Thanks a lot!
Shevon I love this, “Imagine front page news: Humans Resist Love by Harming Themselves.” How so very very true, this is actually front page news, when we read about all the crazy abuse, and harm we carry out to ourselves and each other on a day to day basis across the world, but not seen, presented and felt so clearly as you have expressed here.
Love your playfullness and your headline Shevon… can you imagine how extraordinary we humans are when we do not resist love, new headline; Humans Accept Love And Love Each Other As Love Expands on Planet Earth…
This is a great take on the current human condition, Rod. It is so easy to look around us at all the greed, corruption, despair, war, murder, etc. and get to a point as a human race where people just give up because it seems like it will never change, or “that’s just the way it’s always been” mentality controls us.
But you have provided the most important reminder that even among all that horrible stuff is a spark that can’t go out no matter how we try. If we can just keep focusing on that within each other, no matter how small or dull it seems, and inspire each other to keep stoking that love that we tend to hold back, slowly but surely we will find our way back to what we have left behind.
A beautiful comment Michael. Each of us has a choice on what we can focus on. I particularly like the ‘sparkling’ option you suggest!
I find it crucial to remind myself that love is who we all are already. If we were not already love then it would feel very overwhelming to feel where we currently are at as a race of people.
Michael I feel you have made such a great point here. People give up because they think it will never change, when in truth as you so rightly have shared – no matter how big or small we all feel we have that spark inside of us, that will never go out, and it is a matter of responsibility in inspiring and reflecting to one another the love that we really are.
I love the simple imagery Michael, a spark that can’t go out no matter how we try and, no matter how small or dull it seems, all we need do is to inspire each other to keep stoking that love. Beautiful.
Well said Michael, the issues facing the world can easily be seen as overwhelming and a feeling of where to start and as always the first place will always be with ourselves. By making everything we do about love we then give others the opportunity to also make it about love, and as you say, eventually we will all get back to our natural state….LOVE
Super blog cosmological being and well translated Rod. This has certainly highlighted some of the ridiculousness of human life.
An absolute gem of a blog, like Matts, I too hope this translator sticks around to give more observations and insights.
Thank you for this most humorous and powerful unveiling of the absurdities of ‘modern’ living. Just loved it.
Loved your blog. Great way to look at the life that occupies our big blue marble.
‘Big Blue Marble’… love the analogy Steve. Could it be that this life we live is just one big game?
Absolutely loved this amazing article. It made me chuckle whilst also knocking my socks off with the power of your words. I loved the non judgemental way you covered so many topics, and reported on them in such a way that left me sitting here thinking ‘when you put it like that, it really doesn’t make sense’.
Absolutely Rebecca.
Yes me too Rebecca – it’s the first blog I’ve read when I’ve actually snorted out loud with laughter (tennis/banjo – just gold Rod!). And it also knocked my socks off as well. I was reading the blog and feeling deeply sad and aware of how we humans are living and the craziness of it all and then when I got to the end and read about the love bit – I was like…oh yes, I do see that flicker of glow and for some it flickers strongly and others in a distance, but it is ALWAYS there.
I agree, there is no judgement in what Rod has written but there is no reservation when it comes to expressing the truth of the planet. A lovely blog, thank you.
I absolutely love this blog, absolute genius Rod, amazingly playful and humour but oh so deeply true – to be shared again and again.
A great read Rod. Some serious issues put forward in a playful way that really makes the reader ponder on the some of the ‘insane’ things we do in this life here on earth.
Rod, I love this blog! Such a simple overview of what is happening here… Thanks for writing. I hope many more people read this!
Exactly Rachael, I fully agree very simple yet hard hitting.
I loved reading this article Rod (with a cup of tea 🙂 ) & didn’t feel it to be long. I love how you’ve addressed so many areas with simplicity esp. about competitions – it’s in so many areas of our lives & since we’re kids we’re championed for winning i.e. separating us from us (what we are is not enough, so we have to prove ourself) & also from others (with whom we are competing). Love your sharing about how it’s just simply about love & we all do have that loveliness, just have to feel & express from there. Thank you for an awakening & an awesome share.
Awesome article, we do live in a way that’s crazy when you step back from it, it’s obvious. We do admire those with narrowly defined physical beauty not ever seeing what we are missing in such definitions. The most attractive women I know have shining eyes and complete presence in their bodies. It’s nothing to do with skeletal structure or skin tones. I am glad as you say that so many are starting to turn around and choose to be the love they naturally are, you are right, the flame is never extinguished. I see this potential in all people now, no matter how far they have gone, I know such light and love to be in us all equally too, we have just to reclaim it.
Very true Falicity, all you need is to take a step back and you start to see the crazy things we do for what they are, crazy. But also when you step back you get to see, as Rod has said, that we are actually not crazy, just struggling to survive in a tough and unloving system.
Absolutely Genius Mr Translator! I love the observations made and love the conclusion at the end! I hope you will remain on earth to share more of your observations, it made me smile!
Hi Rod, what a brilliant and awesome article. I loved it and have read it twice! It was such a truthful account of life here on planet earth, but written in such a playful way without any judgement. It was easy to see how we humans get ‘sucked’ into it all – but with all the madness, how on earth could humans help themselves get out of this mess, was the question I was asking?
Then the article beautifully flowed into your conclusions and how humans had simply lost their way but had not and never had lost their light or love. And no matter how they tried to reject or fight against it, love is expanding here on planet earth right now.
PURE DEAD BRILLIANT – as we say in Scotland!
“How on earth could humans help themselves get out of this mess?” is a great question. It’s crazy how we accept and even embrace all sorts of weird self destructive behaviours which take us away from our amazingness and the natural love that is within us. Why indeed? Perhaps a simple starting point is to consider the possibility that we do hold a light within… after all, why continue a struggle to deny it?
Hi Rod, this is a beautifully written blog and one that definitely held my attention to the end! I know deep inside that I AM Love (as indeed we ALL are, equally) and that by holding this love and reflecting it to others there is a way out of this mess for all of us.
Amazing Rod, yes great question – why do we continue to struggle and fight against this light with so many crazy behaviours? I’m just imagining if you took some of these crazy humans off the planet and let them look down on what was happening from above would they eventually stop and see that it’s all about love?
Fantastic point here Rod I feel if we all took the time to look deeper inside we would realise there is something amazing, tremendous and glorious just waiting to be rediscovered.
I love that Rod – start with the possibility that we do hold a light within… for me it has always been a knowing, I just got lost a little along the way. Returning to the light that I am brings so much joy, love and playfulness to every day. There is more to life than our physical bodies… we are part of the Universe.
Indeed Jacqueline, I know many humans who have found their light and love and more and more are re-claiming it as they are reconnecting to their inner-heart.
Yes I loved the lack of judgement, simply observations throughout the article. You have encapsulated the last paragraph so well. We have not and never will lose our love or light no matter how hard we try to reject, fight or bury it! It will simply remain there waiting for us to reconnect again.
Hi Rod, thank you of this super cool article, I very much enjoyed it. Very light-hearted and humorous and yet so spot on.
Yes Esther Rod’s chosen expression as an alien is brilliant in the way he observes our humanity in such humorous way! Could we not feel the truth when the alien discovered that LOVE is forever within and increasing on the earth. Loved this blog Rod.
Thanks Ariana… I feel your love!
This is just fantastic, Rod. Wonderful and playful.
Rod, this is an amazing, brilliant and well expressed article. I love the playful way this is presented to expose all the ludicrous things we do as humans and justify them so effortlessly. As you say also, there is another way to live, from love and with joy that we can all share. I am still chuckling! Thank you!
Yes, there is another way we can live together in harmony Stephanie… I guess my extraterrestrial buddy has highlighted that we humans are slow learners (but at least we’re getting there).
Yes Rod, it’s incredible how slow we are to get it – we seem to keep going round and round doing the same thing even though we know it is harming us and often it’s not until we have an ‘accident’ or a disease that we stop to really look at what is going on. Your blog gives us the broader perspective to help us see the extent of the craziness. And it’s so true that when we really connect with people we can see that many are just lost and looking for love outside themselves in the form of recognition for what they do. Those who have connected with the love within are no longer identified with the need for approval from the outside and then all these crazy behaviours just drop away as they are no longer needed.
Sandra, your last sentence is revealing. Could it be so simple…that by connecting with the love within, then the problems besetting humanity would drop away?
According to the ‘alien’s’ observations many who have re-connected to love have disconnected from their own issues to live a more harmonious life. And in turn, they are inspiring others to connect to love and our natural state of harmony.
It’s spreading!
As you mentioned Rod they are not insane but just a little bit crazy. Lost their way and finally making their way back to the light!
Hi Rod, What a funny look at us humans! There is an episode of one of my favourite tv shows, where the main character laughs at what the aliens on other planets must think when they see humans being dragged along on a lead by a dog, while picking up its poo in a bag. Something along the lines of – who do you think they would say is in charge here?! This episode always made me laugh. But your writing has taken this look at humanity to the next level! I love how you talk about being ‘sucked in’ by cigarettes and about the all the so-called ‘love’ in tennis – hilarious! Thank you for giving me some perspective of our planet and of how we, as humans, may be perceived by those on other planets. A great seed for change.
I just wanted to add… But what you have also said is true. We are not insane. Just finding a way to cope in an unsupportive system when we have lost our way. This is important and well said.
Well said Simone.
Hi Simone, I completely agree that this blog offers amazing perspective. It’s amazing the power that is held in simply.. saying it as it is… no matter how ridiculous.
That’s a great point Simone, it is a very unsupportive system we live in, so the more people who can provide that light and that spark the better. That inner fire is just waiting to be kindled as Rod so beautifully expressed.
I love it. Yes the inner fire in everyone is just waiting to be kindled. And the more individuals choose to spark up, the easier it becomes for those who haven’t made the choice yet to do so.
Simone well said and there is sooooo many coping mechanisms and tools that we have that are ‘acceptable’ like alcohol, drugs, coffee, sugar, everything that substitutes the fact that deep down we all know we have lost our way.
Very true. What we choose in order to not deal with what we are feeling is insane behaviour but we ourselves as a human race are not insane. However, continue to choose behaviours that abuse the human body and it will break down so that the connections do not fire in the same way. The most important thing to remember when an opportunity or an experience is in front of us is that we have a choice in each and every moment to harm or to heal. Responsibility for our choices is perhaps worth having as a daily practice in order to not feed this insane behaviour.
I agree Simone Lewis, this very important for all to understand as it allows for support rather than judgement.
Thanks Simone… I’ll have to get back to my Extraterrestrial buddy and ask why the dog poo wasn’t mentioned. But he (or maybe he is a she) did mention that he/she found it peculiar how many humans walk around hitting a little white ball with a stick until it goes into a hole and do that 18 times for relaxation, although they become quite exasperated. And sometimes hundreds of people follow them around watching them do that.
True Mary.
Thank you Rod, there is so much humans do that just does not make sense. There are no other species in this world that are addicted to substances and choices that poison, harm and kill themselves.
I like the way you truly observe what is going on with no judgement – just an openness to see how it really is for now.
Very well said Simone, I agree, this article is very humorous whilst also exposing some of the ridiculous ‘normal’ things in life.
I love your ‘report’ and exposure of the ridiculous issues that we champion. I also love that you end with reminding us that we are so much more than ‘what we do’. Thank you.
Isn’t it crazy (but not insane) Carmen that it takes a being from an outside world to point out to us how wonderful we really are… when it doesn’t take too much digging for us to realise that for ourselves?
Yes it has become one of the engrained behaviours that our visitor did not make a note of, for humans to look at all the wrongs and just focus on that. While as he beautifully observed: at those moments they have simply lost their way without comprehending how much love and potential they hold within. We would do well if we chose to hold love and potential as our main focus.
Golnaz, how about at the end of every sensational tv documentary exposing yet more inappropriate human behaviour there was a closing line …’they have simply lost their way without comprehending how much love and potential they hold within. ‘?
Rod I agree but I think we need another report!
Absolutely – I’d love an Annual Alien Report. Such wise and observational beings – love how they tell it like it is 🙂
Rod, I agree – the whole scenario seems to be really crazy. I loved the way you expressed this in your blog – such fun and playfullness in exposing the ridiculousness of all the things that are ‘going on out there’, and that we too may possibly have been involved during some part of our various lives, but also loved the fact that you brought it back full circle so that we may also be reminded that the crazy-ness stops when the human being chooses to stop, maybe practice a little gentle breathing and then chooses to come back to that still place within – that’s when the craziness stops I have found. What a beautiful moment when we discover that we are all amazing and so full of love and tenderness and do not have to accept that just because most of the world seems to be doing this or that as choices in their lifestyle behaviours, we do not have to enjoin the craziness, but we actually have a choice to be all that we are, naturally love and express that in all that we are engaged in on a daily basis.
I agree definitely, something we all need to study we are so much more than what we do, this is beginning to unfold but with time science will show more.
Rod, I thoroughly enjoyed reading your post. Seeing through the eyes of a cosmological being helps see the craziness of what we have learned to call ‘normal’. When I saw the extent of the insanity, it was great to be reminded that despite everything on the surface, there is Love within each and every person. I particularly appreciated the confirmation that more and more people are choosing to live in “self-care, compassion, brotherhood, service, love and freedom” and this is inspiring those around them to do the same. Thank you.
Thanks Golnaz… I’ll pass your comments onto my cosmo-buddy.
Rod. Great reading of your blog. We are really not insane, but boy do we do crazy things from time to time, and people may think we are either mad or insane. We are gorgeous people who sometimes lose our way, but eventually come back to who we are.
Yes far from insane but far from who we truly are!
I agree Golnaz. Great blog Rod – it has been soo easy to forget that underneath each and everyone of us there is love.
This is a great question, Jane – why do we do it this way? Rod’s awesome blog really highlights that we need to keep asking this question until we get to the truth of who we truly are.
I love what you share here Jane in that we all have the ability to keep asking questions about how we are living and to be honest in this discussion… It really does open up the avenue for further conversation with others and really does confirm that there is another way!
I just had a conversation yesterday with the lady at the supermarket who was commenting on the crime rate and the disengagement of the world where everything was about profit margins not people. Her comment to me was… “It feels like the world has gone insane.” This blog is a timely reminder of how mad things have become as we are forgetting the simplicity of returning back to love.
What a great point, Jane. It’s very easy to be part of the herd and to trundle along. But, as you rightly ask, is there another way? Just posing the question alone is enough to make people stop to consider – they may prefer to continue to trundle, but perhaps not. The question alone is an opportunity.
I too love that confirmation Golnaz. What is key in that for me is appreciating it on the outside as well. Taking the time to reflect with others about just how much care they are now taking of themselves and supporting them through my example and my investments in myself. Remembering to not go too far and impose my feelings on them has been an interesting learning for me but above all it’s about just enjoying it and enjoying learning to take more care of myself.
