It was in July of 1921 that Adolf Hitler took over the leadership of the National Socialist German Workers’ Party, also known as the Nazi Party.
The Nazi Party was made up of a very small number of nationalists who were out to persuade the public that it was the Jews who were the main reason for Germany’s problems and woes at the time, rather than the consequences of World War I and the punitive and divisive conditions of the Treaty of Versailles.
Before Hitler came to power, Jewish and German citizens had lived and worked side by side, though it did not take long for Hitler to change this once he became Reich Chancellor in 1934. Thirteen years after Hitler became their leader, the Nazi Party had become the largest party in Germany. Propaganda leaflets were posted through doors suggesting that Jews were filth – (are we not seeing this now with the way our refugees and migrants are portrayed in the media, that they are to blame for all our woes?) – and a bill was passed, the so-called Nuremberg Laws, that stripped Jews of German citizenship and legislated against the marriage between Jews and non-Jewish Germans.
How was this possible? What had persuaded people to turn against their neighbours and business associates, made them suspicious of their friends and relatives? The national media got behind Hitler to create and incite more hatred and blame, promoting a feeling of separation towards all people in minority. On an international scale, Time Magazine named Hitler ‘man of the year’ in 1938.
Germany at this time was in depression and had high rates of unemployment, which provided Hitler with a perfect political platform to play on the general discontent and unease of the public.
The recipe of propaganda, a false picture of a better life and a cry for change, all mixed together with the stench of nationalism (sound familiar yet?), gave rise to what we now know as the Second World War that resulted in millions of deaths.
Between 1939 and 1945, Nazis and their collaborators were responsible for the deaths of an estimated 48 million people, including about 6 million Jews: the death toll in the USSR alone was in excess of 32 million, including deaths by famine and deprivation. (1)
Deaths were orchestrated in concentration and extermination camps and through mass executions. Other persecuted groups included communists, homosexuals, gypsies and the mentally and physically disabled.
Nationalism was a huge motivating force in Hitler’s agenda.
Nationalism, I noticed whilst living in Egypt and Israel, is often pivotal in enticing and inciting fear; the notion of ‘them and us’ would always lead to dangerous situations, sparked by a fake ideal and belief of being better than another or of some kind of superior heritage.
In England I have also seen this with the use of the St. George’s flag (the English Flag) – however, instead of being proud I would often feel how it was used to keep people separate and as a barrier to keep people out, and even be used as a direct threat. Seeing this white flag and the red cross on it has become more common in the UK in recent years and one must ask the intention behind it, as just like the swastika was once used as a sign for wellbeing and peace, we can see how something can also be used for evil.
Whilst travelling I met many people from all over the world. And having lived and worked in a number of countries I have become quite accustomed to getting to know a wide variety of people and how they live. During this time I had a vast array of jobs but what I learnt mattered the most was people – how people have a choice to either open up or shut down when faced with someone different. How people have a choice to be racist, ignoring and condemning you based on an ideal they may have, or how they can choose to treat you with equality, love and respect. As humanity we have so, so much we can learn from one another; we can quite simply choose to learn and love or we can choose to retreat and hate – it is up to us.
So what instigates someone to hate someone else based on their differences?
When we do not claim the love we all naturally are we end up expressing what we are not; allowing the energy of separation and evil to run through us.
No one person, not even Hitler, is born ‘evil’. But when we are separated enough from the love we truly are, and allow hurts, ideals and beliefs to control us, we can allow great harm to come through.
Einstein introduced the concept that ‘everything is energy’, and Philosopher and Author Serge Benhayon has presented since 1999 that if “Everything is energy”, then – “Everything is because of energy”.
When considering the above past and present historical events, it is evident to say that there must be an energy that is opposite to truth and real love; an energy that works through the minds of men and feeds the illusion that we are separated by national borders, beliefs, cultures and the like, and will stop at no means to instil this separation, inhibiting us from feeling the real unity we are all from.
Evil is separation, and/or that which causes it as it allows people to see themselves as different to others, it incites hatred and comparison, it generates fear and in that fear we are able to see others as a threat or as lesser than ourselves.
Any decision that is not based on real love must then be evil (separation).
During my travels I was grateful to be taken into the hearts of many foreigners – people who would enthusiastically invite me for dinner with no other motive than to share time with me. I tried many different styles of cooking and learnt lots of local words though in truth the language did not matter, it was the intention to connect equally with another being that sparked the magic. During this time I made some amazing connections which confirmed to me the fact we are all one, no matter what our seeming differences on the outside; it became clear that we all want and deserve Love, no matter how we try to express this.
I loved getting to know the locals and avoided the touristy places, mainly because I would sometimes feel ashamed of how people from my own country were acting. Not always, but often I found the English groups behaving in a way that was disrespectful of another’s way of living. Of course this was always magnified with the use of alcohol.
What kinds of decisions are made when they are being made on the basis of disrespect of another?
The recent British referendum has fractured Europe, divided families and split the country.
Coming out of the EU will be costly; emotionally and financially the consequences and implications are enormous. We are already seeing how incidents of hate crime have skyrocketed since the result, and far right movements across the world rub their hands with glee as they too contemplate separation. We must not forget that the energy of separation led to the Second World War. We cannot afford to be complacent to the fact that Hitler rose to power through ‘democracy’.
In a world made up entirely of energy we need to ask: what energy was behind the Brexit campaign, what energy murdered politician Jo Fox?
From an energetic perspective, if there is such thing as evil (which we know there is), and if evil is an energy that works through people (which we see the outplay of only too often), then is the energy of the Brexit campaign more sinister than meets the eye?
Evil does not want to see Britain united, evil does not want Europe united; evil wants the world to be at war.
In truth the campaign to leave Europe was orchestrated from the start to cause separation and division amongst people and had the perfect opportunity to work through the disgruntled ones, creating a groundswell of bitterness and resentment.
I have felt so blessed to have been able to travel and experience getting to know others and see through labels such as race and religion. I hold much appreciation for the opportunity to meet different people from all over the world. As a remedy to ignorance and arrogance we need to be able to interact and get to know people from all walks of life.
We need to be able to look in another’s eyes and not see them as a label such as migrant / refugee / foreigner, we need to look in their eyes and understand that we are family. True brotherhood is universal, it is not about blood or nationality; we are all one family and the fact we don’t acknowledge this is a big reason for why we currently find the world in such a mess.
Winston Churchill was one of the first to call for the creation of a ‘United States of Europe’. And in doing so his aim was to eliminate the European ills of nationalism once and for all.
In his famous ‘Speech to the academic youth’ held at the University of Zurich in 1946, he stated: “There is a remedy which … would in a few years make all Europe … free and … happy. It is to re-create the European family, or as much of it as we can, and to provide it with a structure under which it can dwell in peace, in safety and in freedom.”
We must build a kind of United States of Europe.” (2)
Since Winston Churchill gave this speech in 1946 we have built strong ties with the rest of Europe, we have supported each other and many friendships have been made.
“To build may have to be the slow and laborious task of years. To destroy can be the thoughtless act of a single day.” Sir Winston Churchill (3)
Sir Winston Churchill’s words seem spookily relevant to what happened in the United Kingdom on 24th June 2016. Why, on the grounds of nationalism and idealism, would we want to destroy unity nurtured and developed over many decades?
Yes, being in the European Union has not been perfect, but like any marriage it requires commitment and understanding; Brexit has not shown any commitment or understanding.
On the morning of the 24th July 2016, once the results of the referendum were known, I cried… in fact I cried for hours; I could feel in my body the devastation that such a decision would cause, the stench of separation it stood for and the evil that had been used in the media to sway people.
The media has too often been used as a driver for the energy of separation and in this case we have seen how the media, again and again, used its power to incite blame and mistrust amongst migrants / refugees and the public.
Throughout history we have seen how nationalism and patriotism have been used to ignite and fuel war. We need to remember we are far more than our nationality, race, colour or creed, we are all equal, we are in fact universal and any movement away from this is playing with the same evil that created, instigated and orchestrated World War II.

‘Those who fail to learn from history are condemned to repeat it.’ – Are we not seeing this play out time and time again. In our personal lives and on a wider scale in what we now see with politics today?
“The recent British referendum has fractured Europe, divided families and split the country.”
So true there has been nothing but pure complication since.
When I feel into the energy of Brexit all I feel is a deep cold. Pure separation. And the media I now see are there to stir this separation into peoples lives. It makes connecting to others, feeling that warmth between us, all the more important.
I personally can’t wait for brexit
Brexit has caused nothing but confusion and separation. Time will in deed tell how divisive this whole thing is.
What a mess
What a complication
Seeing this display of irresponsibly has made me step up and do my best in my local community we need leaders who lead with their heart and with their feet firmly on the ground.
I am sure in the future brexit will be a word used for anything complicated, misleading and unnecessary.
It will be very interesting how history views this time. I used to hope that Brexit will be stopped now I see it as going ahead it’s a shame, it will be messy, but if this is the only way we as society we learn that separation is the not way, then so be it.
Great confirmations you received on your travels, ‘During this time I made some amazing connections which confirmed to me the fact we are all one, no matter what our seeming differences on the outside; it became clear that we all want and deserve Love, no matter how we try to express this.’
We seem to be slow to learn some things in life, surely it is time to bring back love as the foundation of our lives, ‘When we do not claim the love we all naturally are we end up expressing what we are not; allowing the energy of separation and evil to run through us.’
Two years on and this issue has not gone away in fact it has got worse, people are still confused
This whole situation highlights the spirits need to mess things up and get stimulated by emotions
Simple Brexit = separation.
Well said, exactly how I feel ? and my feelings haven’t changed. Thank you for writing this ?
(just one thing, you said ‘On the morning of the 24th July 2016’, did you mean June when the referendum was)
Yes when we see World War II as energy we can see it is not in the past but is still very much there and possible to be repeated today. Especially when we are not aware of the energy behind everything that we do.
I know that many people who live now in Germany feel a lot of guilt about the second world war, and I can see how this is a difficult feeling to overcome. I also see this in Britain, with many people expressing their guilt about the vote to leave Europe. But with all of this guilt, is it possible that it will be very difficult for us to move on as nations and to rebuild our futures together?
“the notion of ‘them and us’ would always lead to dangerous situations, sparked by a fake ideal and belief of being better than another or of some kind of superior heritage.” The entire Brexit debate is showing so clearly that when countries work together for a shared purpose there is greater harmony than when one group tries to go it alone and tries to grab the cake and eat it and then is surprised when others take the plate away.
‘When we do not claim the love we all naturally are we end up expressing what we are not; allowing the energy of separation and evil to run through us.’ Thank you Samantha and that this is ongoing over 2 years after the referendum result leaves many feeling powerless but actually we all have a responsibility to live the love that we innately are and reflect that to others.
I cannot understand what is at play when politicians and people are standing by Brexit even when many of the arguments have turned out to be lies and the future is so uncertain. No-one has been brave enough to say come on, let us work together at making our society one of respect and equality. People seem to be battening down the hatchets trying to save their idealized comfort. I work with asylum seekers who are declining to come out of their community. They too are wanting to obtain the security that everyone else is competing for. It seems everyone wants to surround themselves with what they are comfortable with and not venture out to make connections with others. We are in such danger of living in divisions within divisions and the conflict this creates.
Overall most in Britain do not want Brexit any more any way. They realise how they have been sold lies and lies about the benefits of it but see not any good from it but the cost and pain of having chosen yet more separation.
It is coming up to 2yrs since Brexit and still, there is uncertainty. Overall – it is a great shame that we can split up a country based on borders and ownership, and not even consider the fact that we are all migrants from everywhere.
We repeat the same mistakes, over and over again until one day we learn and we will learn. We will shed tears at the realisation of how harmful we are to our fellow human beings.
Yes the tears of how far we have reached in the realisation that basic decency and respect for another has gone by the wayside in the thirst for individuality and leaving one another behind.
The stark reality that is revealed in this article should be a massive wake up call for each of us. There are questions we need to ask, first and foremost… Why have we not learnt from the atrocities of the past? Why would it be that such choices to ostracize another, or group of others be made and championed? Has not each and every one of us felt the hurt of being left out? How is this different to the behaviour that makes one better than another? We need to learn/remember that we, each of us in our behaviours, thoughts and ways of living either demonstrate the possibility of living together or fuel the ugly reality that Brexit is.
It’s clear to me that what Brexit represents to humanity is a current reluctance to take responsibility for creating the economic mess and corruption that then leads to a irrational decision such as leaving the European Union. It is so much easier to simply blame some ethnic group or refugees for our problems, and that comfort of irresponsibility is then easy to sell by the media.
The notion of ‘divide and rule’ is the force of separation energy and the opposite of Brotherhood.
When we live in a way that considers ourselves as separate somehow, cut apart from our brothers, this can seem ‘normal’ ‘understandable’ and ‘true’ but it’s just the way evil in this world comes through us and starts. We are universal, connected and interlinked – living anything else is indulging in illusion. Thank you Samantha.
It’s easy to make life about the details that we see and blame despotic tyrants for their outrageous acts but what we need to see is that we contribute unwittingly to the energy that does these deeds whenever deliver less than Love.
Brexit was a car crash from the moment it was suggested and since then, it is becoming the biggest pile up ever – the further we get, the worse it gets and yet no one is willing to admit that what was voted for, is not what we are getting and that the basis of the vote to leave was made from: a) not knowing all the facts, and b) driven by emptions and prejudices that have nothing to do with the reality of what leaving the EU will actually mean. To me, the most powerful and impressive move the government could now make is to admit that it’s wrong, that what its trying to do is a mistake and is going to do more harm than good, to be honest and transparent with the people about the reality of Brexit – it may still go ahead but at least it will be on an honest platform.
A most sobering and pertinent contribution, the parallels between Brexit and the period leading up to World War II. The similarities are undeniable which makes it even scarier as the wounds, scabs and scars of racism, resentment, hatred and vilification have not ever been truly healed but overlaid with a thinnish veneer of tolerance, legislated and decreed multiculturalism and whatever else could be garnered by way of solutions rather than exposing the whole rot in all its goriness and get to the root cause of the evil – our subscription and slavish adherence to a consciousness that is not of us but comes through us to be disseminated and further spread to the corners of the earth and via its stench across the whole of the universe, known or yet to be known.
If we don’t deal with the root issue then it keeps resurfacing in other ways. As a humanity we do not seem to have learnt from all these wars and just keep on and on repeating the same lessons like groundhog day – one day we will wake up and start a new day, but for now many seem to prefer the suffering, separation and struggle.
That is what the written word is all about – to expose the lies, evil and corruption. For many aeons word has been used to cause separation. If there is any thought of not love, separation or non-unity it is proof of the energy of evil. Our responsibility is to not allow it to manifest into reality.
There is a saying “be careful for what you wish for, for it may come true” – many in England are going to have a not so pleasant experience of what they have asked for.
It seems we still need to be reminded that we are all the same and all equal, ‘We need to remember we are far more than our nationality, race, colour or creed, we are all equal. We are in fact universal and any movement away from this is playing with the same evil that created, instigated and orchestrated World War II.’
The fact that we even have flags to distinguish countries is an act of separatism. It is a shame that the world has come to a point where being separate is what we know and relate too. But we have to look at what is behind this – the need to be separate can only stem from ourselves first – the need to be individual rather than working together.
That is a great comment Jennifer, and yes separation happens within first, so to reverse this means it is important for us to re-connect with ourself, with who we truly are.
I am not someone who knows history, but I do know that we learn very little from what we have lived in history. I have wondered for a while with countries in the Middle East in the dark aged they were the ‘enlightened’ countries of great learning and knowing and great societies that are the foundation to what we ‘know’ today in the west. But to look at some of these countries today we would not know this. Or more to the truth we have forgotten this. We think that these countries were always this way. Could what have happened there be similar to situations like Brexit, where we as a whole community take our eye off the ball? Where those with views of separation are given free reign because we have ourselves chosen this. It’s time for us to see very clearly that this method does not work for us as communities and global communities at that. However, we do need to understand that this separation happens within first, that we choose to disconnect from who we are first. Then the domino effect is inevitable.
At the moment Brexit looks more like becoming a farce, though a very expensive one, than a road to war.
It is shocking to consider that today we might actually have a similar situation to the one that lead us in to a world war. And I want to ask about our complacency, our levels of assumed comfort and our need for distractions that could allow for such a situation to occur. How is it that the last 80 to 100 years has not brought the absolute stop and end to any possibility of war through a collective knowing of what horrors come when war is given traction and viability as an answer to what global problems we may be facing.
Powerful message. For a minute I had no words. But I can feel that there is something for us all to look at here. To feel deeply the degree of which we stand and live in separation in our lives. Of course it is not just the media, as if there were no followers or people standing for the truth the media would not be able to survive or go on with such lies. Hence there must be a demand or a denial from our society that these lies are allowed. So, we have to look a little deeper and feel our part in all of our honesty without condemnation.Simply truth is and love always holds you.
What the world has become – in all its separation – is a tragedy as it shows that we as a humanity are fighting the very thing we naturally are – love.
Any form of separation leads to war, be it within ourselves or with others.
The energy of Brexit is no different to the energy of politics in general in most countries. Essentially our system of debate is based on a lie. Yes debate is great but as shown in the case of brexit such debate was also based on lies. The facts presented were not always true but only became appealing for the majority because they did not want to discern whether such facts were actually truths as so touted.
Yes, the cooperation of the public in the lies is an important point.
The Time magazine award is pause enough surely for us all to stay vigilant and observing what is truly happening on our planet
Yes I was shocked to read that fact today and feel the false reverence that is awarded to those who appear ‘successful’ when it is built on a false platform of lies and separatism that continues to this day.
The path that the UK has had to follow in its pursuit of a Brexit deal is nothing like the ideal that was sold at the beginning, when promises were made and a kind of utopian parting was imagined. The reality is far more complex and difficult, with politicians scrambling to find their way through a myriad of obstacles that no one could have predicted. Brexit it seems is therefore a much harder journey than what was promised as the UK attempts to re-define itself within Europe and the rest of the world.
Whenever we create the mentality of us and them we also lose our connection to basic decency and respect and the fact that we are all equal.
Freedom of speech is a precious thing, and because we have it here in this country we are able to read this piece of writing which is tremendous in its honesty and care for people. This is something not to be taken for granted, that we can be given such a candid view of global events and have the freedom to come to our own conclusions about them because this simply is not the case in every area of the world, where there can be a lack of information given or what is given is manipulated to suit the ones in control. However, what is very important too, is the fact that although we here in this country can enjoy such freedom of information and expression, we could be considered to be under a different kind of manipulation and control, one that dulls us in to thinking that comfort is king so we can be complacent to what is truly going on, so long as the tv shows continue to entertain and the latest gadgets continue to get more dynamic, while all the while there continues to be deep levels of corruption, greed, neglect and abuse happening in places that would seem hidden and out of view but actually if the gadgets and the screens are put down these places are much closer to home than perhaps we as a country are willing to see.
Yes, Britain has been very good at this but now their reaction is more violent than most.
Brexit is an example of people behaving irrationally but it then gets hard to know when and how they will stop. In 1939 it took the total destruction of large parts of the world. Today?
Sad to say that this article is still so relevant today – a year on. “When we do not claim the love we all naturally are we end up expressing what we are not; allowing the energy of separation and evil to run through us.” Thank you Samantha.
The world has changed, and is changing constantly. There is an overbearing sense of immediacy and tension everywhere, whether it be in the secluded comforts of our homes or the dramatic outplay of global events – be they political or weather based – there is a crisis happening here on earth right now, and we all need to stand up and listen.
Evil creates the illusion of separation for distracting us from feeling the unavoidable fact of connection… and the grandness that comes with it
To champion one grandness over another is far from what we all know is true not matter how we may sell this through media, support and the falseness of brotherhood that is masked in nationalism.
It’s very interesting that the media has played such an enormous role in both events, manipulated millions of people, shared false stories AND incited hate, and has not been held accountable. Regardless of the fact that the media is an establishment and collective of organisations as opposed to a single person, their role in society should be carefully looked at and they should follow the same laws as any individual, including the fundamentals of respect and no discrimination.
‘So what instigates someone to hate someone else based on their differences?’ This is a great question to ask, after all very young children do not distinguish a dislike, or like to someone based on how they look or what political party they belong to… they can only feel love or not love. I agree with you, Samantha that when we do not claim the love that we are, the only alternative is to not be love and thereon in anything is possible in terms of separation, disharmony and aggression.
I too get uncomfortable when I see the St Geroge’s Cross flying. It is the flag chosen by footballers and sports players and is flown to show division and separation not only against other countries but often within the UK.
One of Sir Winston Churchill’s quotes was: “Men occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of them pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing ever happened.”
Ironic is it not that the Universe constantly showers with Truth left right and center, within our own bodies, through our relationships, by the state of the world… you name it. There is not a day without at least one story clearly spelling out that separation, inequality and lack of care of one another does not work and progressively destroys our World on all levels. Yet we can have occasions such as Brexit when a nation who holds Sir Winston Churchill as an important historical leader, proudly stands as a force to reverse the foundations he set up for a United Europe.
On a personal level, people tend to ignore the truth they stumble over until it hits them as Cancer, a break-up, or some other devastation that forces us to stop and pay attention. On a planetary level do we need another World War?
The ugliness of brexit is found from start to finish in the lies that accommodated the successful campaign, to the inward looking, racist and myopic feeling that has enveloped Britain since. Nothing good will come of leaving the EU, because the issues that rode the campaign to success did not arise from EU membership, but are part of a much deeper rotten core of self interest and high level corruption embedded in British life.
Brexit truly is separation and not taking responsibility. I love the way you describe the EU as any relationship that needs to be worked on, and what a tragedy that we have got to a stage where people even consider being separate. Certainly it all starts with the way we are in ourselves and we have a world in which we have many cases of people choosing to separate from self.
How telling that this has taken place now, when humanity aches for connection, and the voice of the few is taking the all into deeper separation… it is indeed a reflection of the gap most feel in their lives , that must, eventually, be healed.
“To build may have to be the slow and laborious task of years. To destroy can be the thoughtless act of a single day.” Sir Winston Churchill – this is such a powerful and profound statement from a truly great leader. It ought to have all of us sit up and diligently examine and discern the impact of our choices regardless of the veil of glamour or fear mongering cast by the media and socially influential invested parties.
“The national media got behind Hitler to create and incite more hatred and blame, promoting a feeling of separation towards all people in minority.” The media have a responsibility to get behind truth. The public have a responsibility to question and challenge what the media do and how they support separation. Ultimately we are all responsible for the world that we allow.
Spinning the ‘us and them’ story has been a tactic of controlling populations for millennia and from the way things are going today in the world, it seems we have not learnt from these mistakes of the past and their consequences.
“we can quite simply choose to learn and love or we can choose to retreat and hate – it is up to us.” – incredibly wise words during these turbulent times. You remind me of Sir Winston Churchill and how his love for people was able to surpass all the evil that was abound during that time. And like him, you too stand on the brink of a monumental series of events and having the awareness to be able to relay this back through our global history gives you not only the great insight but also a lovely depths of understanding which is so valuable now and needed more than ever.
The big problem with Brexit is that a small, committed part of the UK Conservative party is now dominating politics because there is no alternative and their agenda – we never lost a war, so we are unbeatable and can do what we like – is divisive and damaging.
With the general election coming in so swiftly after the announcement of Britain officially leaving the EU (Article 50) I return to this blog and wonder, if we didn’t read into the energy at play then, what about now? Is this train going to continue it’s track or can we bring a greater understanding to all of this and choose/vote from there? When considering who now to vote for as to who will essentially lead the UK (and by example to the world) into this exiting from the UK your question Samantha: “What kinds of decisions are made when they are being made on the basis of disrespect of another?” feels important to keep in mind when reviewing the options rather than who the media say is popular or who can talk the best talk.
I agree Leigh with this election we have an opportunity to continue down this clearly destructive path of separatism or we can choose to change course towards something that respects and unites humanity.
Great relationships are built on commitment and dedication to love and truth – Britain leaving Europe is like walking away from a relationship when everything gets a bit too hard to deal with, it does not solve the issue and it will resurface in the next relationship. That is simply the way it works.
Nationalism was considered by academics as one of the great leading causes of both WW1 and WWII – enough said.
What a blog to read this morning! It is quite a reality check on how Brexit played into peoples fears and how similar it is to the fears and manipulation of the 2nd World War and the rise of Hitler. We can choose not to see it or do anything about it but there is no question we are at a turning point and we each have a part to play.
Thank you for bringing a concise and brilliantly written blog on the similarities with the start of World War II and Brexit Samantha. I had not heard the words of Winston Churchill before but his words are now ringing very true when he suggested that the way forward was a United Europe, but that we needed to build it slowly with a strong foundation. We had been doing this for over 40 years, it may not have been perfect but it was heading the right direction. The words we did not heed were ” To destroy can be the thoughtless act of a single day.” On June 24th last year the country through a thoughtless act of complacency and lack of true awareness we chose to destroy the work of the last 4 decades, we chose nationalism over a United Europe, we chose protection over brotherhood,
There is an amazingly wise part of this blog, when you Samantha, talk about how we always have a choice to be open and to learn from one another or to shut down and judge or condemn what we see or judge as separate, different, or even fearful. This choice is perhaps at the heart of our power, a power that is yet to be fully realised by us as a one global humanity.
The term ‘divide and conquer’ is not a new one. When we choose to be united, responsible, loving and caring of everyone equally, we are in flow with the natural rhythm of the universe and the holding and the power of that is palpable.
Yet in every moment there are two energies that run through us, one of love, harmony, brotherhood and an energy that opposes this. Which one do we choose and what consequences will it have? We have seen it again and again throughout history. We even have movies today to keep reminding us? Have we learned our lesson yet? It appears we have some way to go.
That is true – to divide and rule was a successful maxim in ancient Rome. Every vassal state was at a different level of freedom and control so there were no natural allies as they all had different grievances. Division can keep a small minority in force.
Thank you for reporting on this Samantha with a view that includes everyone as responsible and blaming no one person or group. Where are we all at to allow such separation on such a huge scale? I guess, the separation starts in our own home on a much smaller scale, and from there we take it out into the workplace, the world and before we know it, we’ve created a new normal. Devastating.
It is well worth reading about the formative stages of the Nazi party and learn from this part of our history. We need to study how a small group of extremists were able to convince a nation to act in a way that most of humanity would consider abhorrent and unthinkable. Yet at the time, this was acceptable. We need to know the smallest of details and see them when they start to play out again, like the way that refugees are treated in some countries. We are very good at repeating the same mistakes over and over and being surprised when things get ugly. Perhaps we need to dedicate ourselves to being very good at studying and learning from these mistakes.
What an insightful blog Samantha. We may not yet have a world war but how we are treating the refugees to me is very similar to the beginnings of Hitler’s rule and subsequent terrorising of the Jewish population. Brexit is the worst thing that has happened to our country for a long time and the separation and divisiveness and unrest that it is causing is a reflection of the way we are all living.
Everyone has the responsibility of whether war is actualised or not, because we can all address the quality that we live in at home. This, on a wide-spread-global-scale is enough to bring the potential of war down on its knees, because harmony would never go to war or even consider the possibility. So, perhaps if we truly want to prevent another global catastrophe, then we need to address what is going on behind our own closed doors, and with that, bring harmony back out in to the world so that life can one day again be about evolution as a race of beings on earth, and not about killing each other in one way or another.
True Shami. what we take as normal and what we take as harmony sets a marker for what we will accept as normal and harmonious in life. If we have abusive relationships and separation, judgement, bigotry in our homes then when we see it in society or as policies in our governments or media we will not see it as wrong, we will not contemplate the direction that horror can lead us to.
There is no denying how terrifying the very idea of what is happening now in the UK is a precursor to another gigantic war, especially for those of us who have young men in our lives. The agony of watching them, in all their sweetness and light, be marched off to a brutal war that could have been avoided is enough to break anyone’s heart. Perhaps the painful memories of this for the generations before us have been lost, and there is a complacency now that cannot fully grasp just how awful it would be. War has to be avoided at all costs, because we are not animals, and we do not have to fight each other to the death for territory or rules. We all have the gift of expression and we can use this to bring unity between nations – without having to sacrifice our dearly loved ones.
We can say the media is the ones spinning the lies but it’s the public that buy these papers, or like myself I don’t buy them but I have to ask – do I believe their words that I see in the free papers on the tube or on online headlines? Do I challenge these words and discern for myself whats going on in the world or do I just ignore what they are saying when there are people out there (as Brexit proved) that are listening to the media’s story and making decisions based on what is sold? Putting my head down and ignoring the situation doesn’t make it go away, nor does following blindly. It feels like feeling the truth of the situation for myself and acting on my truth is pictured as the lone road or unpopular option. But it doesn’t feel true to separate from others so going out in my truth is to not be lonely but actually connect to more people.
And if we wait around for others to work together we then fail to learn how to work together that can teach others how to do the same, the at home work has been lacking at this is what Brexit has shown us – our collective cooperation and lack thereof. I ask these questions myself: What is the quality of how I work within my family? with me and my partner, how do I work within and amongst my work team? Rather than looking outside to others I find I understand others greater when I understand myself.
I heard on the news here in Australia today that Brexit has found support amongst a clear majority of MPs, signalling that the move to separation will likely march forward. What a shame that a country that once formed a ‘United Kingdom’ could not extend the same philosophy to remain part of a united Europe.
I love this quote you’ve used Samantha… ““To build may have to be the slow and laborious task of years. To destroy can be the thoughtless act of a single day.” Sir Winston Churchill (3)” This relates to so much in life that is relevant to us now. It is a shocking account you’ve shared… and in the sense of this quote, we are still rebuilding from those short years of inconceivable destruction and atrocity.
Sometimes we have our challenges and these are there to evolve us and to grow from. The EU has been a clear example of that. It has had many faults but it has also been a great example of what is possible and is a foundation for the future. Going back to old ways of the past will never solve anything.
You cannot live on a small island and pull up the drawbridge and think that this will be the answer to your problems. We all share one planet and we have to work together in brotherhood with all to bring harmony to the world.
In a recent radio interview, I heard a gentleman talking about the financial benefits of Brexit, and afterwards I wondered if there is value to be placed on this? Our medical systems are struggling, our social care industry is on the brink of collapse. How will we continue the way things are? But then of course, I remembered, how solutions – especially financial ones, are only ever short term and tend to lead to further problems thus generating the need for further solutions. Whereas truth is sustainable and everlasting. So, while this gentleman made a very good case, I feel that he was only seeing part of the picture. Perhaps there is a lesson here for us all, that while we search for solutions, we are blind to the truth which will actually see our way through.
Such an awesome blog Samantha – thanks for writing it – I really appreciate your wisdom here. I was the same when travelling – loved connecting with all the locals and avoided Brits as I would more often than not be ashamed to to English based on their disposable drunken behaviour. One thing I noticed as a result was that I felt more comfortable and safe with non English speakers – perhaps because without words there is much more room for true connection – whereas words can be manipulated so easily, whether for protection or to attack, neither of which are true or loving. This is what the media is so responsible for – the mass production and infestation of lies via words with absolutely no connection to anyone or humanity as a whole.
One of the biggest myths we get sold is that people from different cultures and parts of the world are somehow different, and while there are obvious outward differences when we scratch below the surface level we get to see that throughout the whole world, people are the same, and at heart everyone has a deeply caring essence, whether it is easily seen or more buried by the harshness of life.
The fact that we can even consider another world war – which any quick search on the internet will easily show is very viable – is proof of the fact that the peace we thought we once had post WW2 was not true, and that we have all been living under the illusion that everything has been fine and progressive when in fact there has been a constant undercurrent of tension and unsettlement that eventually would one day have to be released, unless that is if we were all willing to see and address the illusion and live with genuine love and transparency with eachother, which may in actuality be the only true way to avert war in the first place.
Winston Churchhill was onto something when he spoke about a “united states of Europe”. We cannot continue the ill belief that so long as we are okay, so long as “our” country is doing okay then all is well. All is not well in the world and if we do not start to deal with the separation that we have created then it will only get worse.
We are part of a humongous whole, it is a illusion to think we are separate. As you share here it is a sign of deep distrust and hurt caused by all those years of false unity. Europe isn’t perfect as is shown time and time again. But it is a great start of a united Europe, it is sad to feel the consequence of the choice of the UK to leave the EU.
I read the other day that multi-culturalism is not working, and I thought, well of course it is not. We are not designed to be multi-cultural, but uni-cultural by nature. We are by nature inclusive, not exclusive, and so when we are confronted by another who is seemingly different we react to their sense of exclusivity, and it makes us react by closing our wings around our own. So the reactions we are seeing in the world at the moment are understandable, as each “culture” seeks to reinforce its own sense of identity by ensuring that it is not diluted. And so the world is held in separation, divided by the various competing group senses of identity we call culture. If you are truly to meet another human being and to connect, then you need to be willing to let go of any sense of cultural identity you have, for from within that prison of thought, the world outside of your bubble will always be seen to be different, and a potential threat to your own sense of identity.
As can be seen with the Brexit exit, passed mistakes are repeating themselves
It’s difficult sometimes to really understand where people get their racists ideas from. Most naturally we accept one another as we are, we can see this in small children, where they never discriminate against each other, certainly not because of race. Which proves that we are more controlled by cultural influences, and energetic choices that put ideas in our heads. There is a level of disharmony occurring in our bodies if we have a level of hate of another within us, and from that you could say that we are in very disharmonious times, where extreme forms of discrimination and racism are taking place around the world. The answer to these issues lies in how strong we stand against such hate, and how strongly we reflect that there is a more loving way to live, appreciate and accept one another.
It only takes a few very lost people to let evil flow through them to stir up so much trouble, I hope to God that history won’t repeat itself but we have to be so careful it doesn’t by not sitting back and watching it happen.
This truly is a great piece of writing Samantha, It really does hit home the actual disastrous effects brexit will and is having. I was shocked to see people at the time of the referendum really show their true colours and the racism and discontent that was there on my street whereas before I thought wrongly that it was quite a harmonious neighbourhood where everyone from everywhere got on. Without true love we let evil in, what an extremely important thing to understand because until we do, we allow evil to run amok. I heard yesterday on the news that Nigel Farage was set to stay in politics and lead an anti-establishment party, jumping on the band wagon of Trump who won an election on that handle, we certainly live in scary times.
It seems that when a country or a society is in real pain, the door is open for decisions made from that pain that are detrimental to others. The desire for the self to get out of pain is all encompassing, and look at the results with World War II. We must as a worldwide community be aware of the pain of countries like Yemen, and Syria, and begin to consider are these people living under the torment of war really any different from us?
We can’t do this individually as many a natural disaster has proven, we work so well together helping our fellow man when they are in trouble or in need of support. So how can these sorts of disasters where there is division amongst the many, be good. Nothing good can come from countries being divided, we are in this together and so need each other to get ourselves back to true humanity.
I agree with all the parallels you have made here Samantha and then when you add that the UK government has now proposed that all companies will need to list the foreign workers who work for them, it gets even more serious and more similar to the change in attitudes that happened before world war two. It is easy to see how if we let something evil go on, when we know is absolutely not true, then it can quickly gain momentum and become a much bigger beast. It is not just the ones peddling the supremacist separation story we have to watch, for they will always be a very loud and vocal minority, it is the silent majority who say nothing who are responsible for allowing evil to prosper and thrive in the world.
I like your definition of evil here Samantha – that it is anything that divides or separates humanity from each other or anything that separates us from ourselves. Looking at it this way it is clear that evil is a consciousness, not one person, one country, one race or one thing, an energy that can come through anyone at any time. If we start to see it like that, then there are no good guys and bad guys, no superior and inferior, just a choice of energy which can be observed and called out without judgement or righteousness.
It is sobering to reflect this Remembrance Day on the punitive Armistice terms that sowed the seeds of discontent that eventually created the swell of grievance that Hitler was able to mobilise into his populist policies that promised deliverance. Again we are seeing similar movements arise because people’s concerns are being ignored. The lessons of history have not been learned and we are simply repeating the same scenarios with different players. Unless we learn to work as one the game will continue; that is the great opportunity that is before us.
Samantha your sharing deserves all of our attention! So true that we need reminding of the fact that we are all equal as humanity and not separate nationalities, religions or genders. We are all one and equally deserving of our place here on earth, to say differently by denigrating others is to separate.
As you mention in this article allowing separatism into our bodies is something we need to look at. Sometimes we think that the thoughts that comes up in our minds are ours but they are just the result of energies having entered our bodies. So when we have thoughts in the line of us and them or when we want to talk about someone in a non loving manner we are in fact separated from ourselves, and when we are it’s easy to allow these divisive thoughts. So before we get behind our thoughts and fuelling them even more let’s ask ourselves are these even me thinking or am I allowing thoughts to play with me? In this way we can catch ourselves when we are not our true loving selves that we naturally and innately are, and in truth deep within there are no room for thinking bad about someone else.
I so very much enjoyed rereading your blog Samantha; from afar I have taken a great interest in Brexit and the separation and disunity it has caused. Likening it to World War two is horrifying yet I can clearly see the similar patterns and momentums. Paralleling it to our own separation is a powerful message indeed.
It is crucial in our path of return to being unified as one, that we start to consider that everything is energy and that everything is because of energy (SB) as from here we are able to see similarities in all what we heave lived with in the past and are still living now. Only then we are able to tackle this ‘war’ of the energies and choose from our innermost that where we are from and that is love, the place we all come from and will unite back into one day. It is up to each and everybody of us individually how soon this will be, as resisting this pull to unity is only delaying that moment of unification.
With the world more poised than ever before with a them and us mentality including Britain and Brexit, we are on very wobbly ground. I hadn’t realised until I read an article in newMatilda.com, “that In the last eighteen months, the greatest build-up of military forces since World War Two – led by the United States – is taking place along Russia’s western frontier.” No one is asking why China is building airstrips in the South China Sea.” Nationalism here has much to answer to and the consequences of it are very scary.
There still remains something very real and relevant to modern life today in the quotes given here by Winston Churchill. Relevant to the fact that life remains to be about relationships first, before it is about boarders and boundaries and policy and trade laws. The relationships that exist between our countries is what matters. He was a very wise and brave person who seemed to have incredible vision for the future.
That is the major trouble, that there are a lot of people in the world whose main mission in life is to keep us separate and can in no way see or understand that we are all one brotherhood. Nigel Farage said he got into politics to get Britain out of the Euro Zone and he now says he can retire from politics as his job is now done. I hope one day we will all realise what a disastrous thing he helped achieve and the long term consequences.
“The media has too often been used as a driver for the energy of separation and in this case we have seen how the media, again and again, used its power to incite blame and mistrust amongst migrants / refugees and the public.” Yes this is very true, the media is playing hard these days at separation, not to unite but to pitch people against each other, nationalities, countries and for what? What do they get other than a headline, it appears that is more important these days than people.
When the UK government proposed that companies list their foreign workers we know we have to be super aware and say no this is not on when such obvious attempts at separation arise like this. This time enough voices were heard calling for the dogs of war to back away. With Brexit waiting in the wings I can foresee many other attempts like this will arise because that is what Brexit is calling for.
Evil can play out in many different forms and ways. It can be shocking at times to see what another allows to run through them and what I am finding is that the more deceitful and cunning the energy is at play the more evil it is. I am re-learning to see and feel the evil in everything no matter how uncomfortable it may appear at the time.
Do we still have separation within ourselves, do we still judge, however slight and sneaky that may be? Love and total acceptance of all begins with self.
Could it be that another prediction could also come true about the apocalypse? Could Hilary Clinton lead USA into the 3 WW? Let love lead us to the truth that humanity seeks, for I feel that as my love grows the opposite energy is causing separation worldwide!
I certainly have a much clearer view of what Brexit involves, thanks to your in depth sharing Samantha. I is indeed an example of wanting the best for ourselves at the expense of others, particularly those worse off than ourselves who are in dire need such as Migrants and Refugees who are looking to share a new country and in turn what they have to bring to the table from their own former culture. As you say Winston Churchill’s scarily accurate prediction seems to have come to pass.
Here is history repeating itself under the veil of fear when this is no different to the atrocity of WW2 and Adolf Hitler that we all shun and speak of today as something that should never be repeated. To separate from one another in the smallest or biggest of ways is still a separation from what we are naturally here to be – united and as one human race.
Brexit is in the news again – so much talk of the worst case scenarios not having occurred as proof it’s not so bad, the doom mongering is all unfounded. But Brexit hasn’t even begun. We have had a break – like a ship resting in the harbour. But it is getting ready to be launched and we still haven’t realised how sickening the journey will become. We haven’t addressed our motivations for breaking up are all about separation and not about our fellow man. People have come to us for help and we have turned our backs. Even the arguments for staying are mainly based on financial stability and not the call for unity. I couldn’t agree more Samantha that: ‘Any decision that is not based on real love must then be evil (separation).’
I actually feel the world is even more dangerous than at the precipice of world war 2, the middle east is literally a bomb site on all fronts and america looks like it is about to get a mad man at the helm, Russia has gone back decades in human rights. It is like we are travelling in circles only repeating the same lessons until we evolve… hang on isn’t that what Serge has been saying for a very long time and all the masters of life before him… I wonder when we will actually start to pay attention?
Great questions Vanessa, and I can attest to the fact my life was definitely going in circles before I found the presentations by Serge Benhayon. Could it be that as the love meter is being turned up that the opposite energy has to also be turned up?
I like many was totally stunned when I heard the result of the referendum, and I was also shocked at the conversations I heard or took part in with various people and saw peoples true colours. I live on a street in London with many different nationalities and religions and I thought that it was and is quite harmonious but certain people on the street, pro brexit came out as real racists and used this vote as protection or something as though this made separation Ok.
Such a brilliant and powerful piece Samantha – this is true journalism and could be printed in newspapers worldwide as you offer a greater understanding of the evil at play here and how we can no longer dismiss how harming and destructive the energy of separation is to humanity.
“We cannot afford to be complacent to the fact that Hitler rose to power through ‘democracy’.” And this is one thing we must not forget, that evil is in every void we do not fill with the love that we all belong to and do crave so much. Turning a blind eye to this truth and in that not taking our individual responsibility, does give room and space for evil to grow its influence in our societies, even through our so called civilised ways we administer our societies.
It is actually quite startling to read that Hitler was named ‘man of the year’ by time magazine, which is such a well respected publication. And then to also see how media became his great ally in the lead up to and during the war, misguiding the general population and influencing their decisions about eachother. I suppose in light of this past global history, it would be naive of us to think that this kind of thing no longer happens, albeit not as extreme, are we not still heavily influenced by the media coverage of certain people and guided in what and how to think about eachother based on what is published and what is not?
This is a great reminder of the importance of dealing with our issues and our hurts for it is alarming how such harm can otherwise come through them and cause such separation and disarray amongst us. This is not our normal but we have allowed it to be yet it so far from our potential. No one wins from the destruction of unity but you wonder how bad it has to get before people wake up to that fact.
‘we can quite simply choose to learn and love or we can choose to retreat and hate – it is up to us’ This is so true of countries of people and of the microcosm of our everyday lives. The difference in how I am in the world when I am open to appreciating the majesty of divinity in everyone I meet is world’s apart from a self-imposed isolated island of judgement of one.
Often I hear politician’s talk of immigration in terms of what benefits those allowed into this country can give us in terms of monetary wealth. I hear how governments reflect a nation’s wish to only look after their own and attempt to skill up the nation’s labour market and only seek non-nationals when it is unavoidable. How we limit the worth of all people when we talk like this.
So true Karin, it is cold and heartless, we would all like to be treated like the beautiful souls that we are. We deserve it, so lets spread the love to all.
We need only review history a short way and we will encounter many a regime and agenda that relied upon propaganda to spread it’s cry. The spoken and written word that bullies another, manipulates and invokes reaction from others is not a reliable Truth and if we were to learn from History we would be extremely wary of both its catch-cry, plead and promise.
Powerfully put Deborah it takes love to see through the propaganda and the evil underneath that tries to separate us.
A brilliant article exposing what we are indeed all responsible for.
Beautiful Elizabeth. back to back we can pretend we do not see that we are all the same, regardless of shape, colour, clothing etc. Eyes to eyes we cannot help but feel that we are one.
If I feel myself wanting to slip away from responsibility this article wakes me out of my reverie to the fact that we habitually repeat separative behaviour and then with the pretence of surprise, bemoan the consequences. In our homes, with ourselves and those we live or interact daily with, is where our habits and history can change and it is here that we can all take responsibility.
“The Nazi Party was made up of a very small number of nationalists who were out to persuade the public that it was the Jews who were the main reason for Germany’s problems and woes at the time, rather than the consequences of World War I and the punitive and divisive conditions of the Treaty of Versailles.” there are so many similarities about what occurred at the start of World War II and Brexit, in the same way that blame was pointed at a particular group and everyone choosing to join the bandwagon rather than look at what was really going on, that has occurred again. The blame for immigrants in a country where everyone is an immigrant. It’s deeply concerning though that everyone has accepted Brexit will happen rather than put our hands up and say we made a mistake.
It is a humbling moment when we realize that we are all responsible for the separation that occurs in the world. How much separation do we live with within ourselves every day? Do we do anything about it? It is avoiding what we don’t like to know about that brings about something like Brexit.
So well said, thank you Elizabeth.
Anything that separates is evil and it is built upon the illusion of fear that can feed this. What has gone unrecognised is the fact that within we are all the same, we are love and as we re-connect to that love and begin to live this in our everyday, true brotherhood will emerge.
I’m with you Monica, we all need to take responsibility to look within ourselves, and call out where we are not living, the love, truth and unity we all are. There is no us and them, we are all equal, we aĺl have the same essence within us. It’s up to us which energy we allow.
Flags, borders, countries, land …. none of it is ‘ours’ or ‘anothers’ and this is what we must understand and learn. Instead it is about people, all of us, humanity being, feeling and living the true equalness we are. It is about true Love and Brotherhood and despite so called Brexit this will still happen, people will still love, value, respect and hold another in equalness. What it has shown is how so much needs to be healed. We ‘think’ we have moved on, that we are ‘international’ but what Brexit shows is still a lot that needs to be addressed in order to truly evolve. As you mentioned ‘nationalists who were out to persuade the public that it was the Jews who were the main reason for Germany’s problems and woes at the time, rather than the consequences of World War I’ This is never the case, we can never blame another. First and foremost it ALWAYS starts with each and everyone of us and how we are living and what we are choosing.
‘What had persuaded people to turn against their neighbours and business associates, made them suspicious of their friends and relatives?’ Once we begin to look inward and shore up ‘what is mine’ mentality in a protective stance, coupled with national media biased reports that feed an insular way of thinking clearly it can be easy to slip into a more extreme way of living. For those that already live with a blame culture it can be easy to ignite hatred and turn it against others. What if we all took greater responsibility for our choices and our lives would this not dilute the problem somewhat?
“To build may have to be the slow and laborious task of years. To destroy can be the thoughtless act of a single day.” Sir Winston Churchill. That to me says that we do know how it works, we have been told before but apparently we tend to turn a blind eye to the truth that is in front of us and with that open the door to the evil that choosing for separation brings. Our future is in living in unity, void of nations, cultures and institutionalised religion, so stepping away from that natural movement to unity is delaying our return to a world where we all will be valued for who we are and can live together in brotherhood.
Separation and division amongst people is always a concern, you highlight some great points in this superb blog Samantha, ‘In truth the campaign to leave Europe was orchestrated from the start to cause separation and division amongst people and had the perfect opportunity to work through the disgruntled ones, creating a groundswell of bitterness and resentment.’
Samantha I had an interesting talk with our local MP it made me realise that I had not really considered or learnt about him before he was voted in, his view which he said was his alone was that it was great the UK voted out because then Denmark and France can vote out as we were the only reason they stayed in and then it would all crumble and could be rebuilt again. Despite a conversation about sticking with what is not working and helping bring change, that to separate is not the answer he felt quite pleased. He would not and did not want to stop the UK leaving the EU. The lesson is really years before the vote for Brexit who did we vote in?
Samantha – you uncover what is behind Brexit so simply and powerfully. To see the likeness of this act of separation in that of Nazi Germany really exposes the patterns we get ourselves stuck in if we do not want to see something and stand up for truth. As you say – anything that is not love is evil.
If we see each other as separate, then it is easy to put up borders in the land between each other.
No matter what the reason is or how it’s justified if anything ends this way, “The recent British referendum has fractured Europe, divided families and split the country.” then it can’t be true. Whether it’s something this large or something smaller, if it further divides people then no matter what the heading or how good it looks it’s going down the wrong road in my opinion. If we look back at any point we are strongest when we are united.
This is such a well delivered article on where we are right now in history, it really is up to us to write what happens next.
Why when things are going wrong do we look to blame others?, “Germany at this time was in depression and had high rates of unemployment, which provided Hitler with a perfect political platform to play on the general discontent and unease of the public.”. At any point if you are feeling any unease or turmoil the only place to look is inside or within. In other words don’t allow that uneasy feeling to be pushed out onto other which in turn creates an opening for these larger things to happen. To often as a race of people we turn on others when we are feeling not so great when all we need do is ask the question of ourselves and keep asking until the answer becomes clearer. Being self responsible for how you are feeling, thinking and acting is a great part of how we need to deal with anything that comes our way.
Connection with self and connection to others are intertwined realities…which means we have to be disconnected from ourselves in order to disconnect to others and vice versa.
It can be easy to make our lives and the divine expression we are capable of, about the world getting it right. I feel like I have been caught in this for eons. Yet thanks to Serge Benhayon’s work and being a student of The Way of The Livingness, I have found a great healing of this attachment and that in the most simple of expressions, that there is full commitment and power in being myself and loving those I meet, friend or stranger and that this ongoing choice is world changing. I am in awe of how people expressing from this same place on this blog site and what can be shared.
‘The recipe of propaganda, a false picture of a better life and a cry for change, all mixed together with the stench of nationalism (sound familiar yet?), gave rise to what we now know as the Second World War that resulted in millions of deaths.’ The point is that whilst we are not in a ‘World War’ today per se. The world is in constant war. The same tactics and energy that has been behind all wars to date is still rampant in society and the instigator of hate crimes, slavery, separation, abuse, wars, murders, on a ‘small’ and grand scale.
Connection begins with self, with this as a foundation we can then connect with all.
Separation, the ‘them and us’ is a killer. The moment we are thinking there is a ‘them and us’ – we are lost.
The Ancient Wisdom as presented by Serge Benhayon speaks universal truth. It is only when we are open to feeling the truth that these destructive and insidious patterns in history can begin to be broken and healing can begin. We must one day walk back through our irresponsibility and realise the lovelessness that we have chosen and we are each responsible for this.
The more loving my relationships, the more I look at the broader community as my equal brothers. This has taken away any presumed boarders or differences that I have perceived in the past!
We use the term exit and are not aware that it is an illusion to exit. We are connected energetically and we can either confirm this and live the joy of it or deny the truth and suffer the self-made illusion.
Ha! True. There is no escape from this planet.
I am sure this is the cause why a lot of us deny reincarnation, because we must take responsibility then. We are the ones who will inherit what we left….
And we deny that we are energetic beings. We are all connected – no illusion of ‘exit’ will change that fact.
Brexit happened because of a deep seated tendency in humanity to “look after their own.” What happens on the other side of the picket fence is not my concern, so we say. But today more than ever before we live in a global community, and it is in truth naive to think that we can return to a time when we could claim that what happens on the other side of our border is not of our concern. It is time we embraced the fact that borders are but a line on a map and not something that should determine our true sovereignty.
Political science studies how people vote and usually apply rational models to try to make sense of it. Yet, more and more I have realised how angry/frustrated people are that it is those energies that govern the decisions of someone who has to choose between political options.
‘When considering the above past and present historical events, it is evident to say that there must be an energy that is opposite to truth and real love; an energy that works through the minds of men and feeds the illusion that we are separated by national borders, beliefs, cultures and the like, and will stop at no means to instil this separation, inhibiting us from feeling the real unity we are all from.’ – very well said Samantha
– Samantha I couldn’t agree more with you “Yes, being in the European Union has not been perfect, but like any marriage it requires commitment and understanding; Brexit has not shown any commitment or understanding.” – When it gets tough of course it seems easy to run away and not to have to deal with it but from my experience and what I have noticed with those around me is that even though we run away it does not fix the situation and we always have that problem that we ran away from come back around, potentially just in a slightly different set up. To stand strong and not waver from the responsibility that we all know is true and what we all know is a level of integrity that is lacking world wide. You could say well at least England had the guts to make the change but as this article clearly presents is that nothing has really changed – it has just exposed what people were already feeling and holding back, that actually in fact it has made the separation of brotherhood a further step away and that what we all desperately crave has been pushed away. By reacting to what has been going on has lead to a utter devastation – by not voting at all is just as equal in voting to leave. We all have a responsibility in how we live and we all know deep down what is the truth. Oneness or Separation.
Great to be reminded of this fact Samantha, ‘“To build may have to be the slow and laborious task of years. To destroy can be the thoughtless act of a single day.” Sir Winston Churchill ‘
An absolutely brilliant article Samantha, this would be great to be shared on a much larger scale. Yes, ‘True brotherhood is universal, it is not about blood or nationality; we are all one family and the fact we don’t acknowledge this is a big reason for why we currently find the world in such a mess.’
How deep Humanity’s mistrust is, within society is that any number of fear-inciting propaganda campaigns can elicit a closing down of our hearts and a shutting of our doors to fellow human beings. We are easy prey when we do not resolve our own past hurts or open ourselves up to Trust and Love one another.
This blog reminds me that there is still so much more to learn from our past, more than perhaps what any school teacher can offer, this is a journey that is bigger than the curriculum or any TV program. There is a collective history of our world and the events upon it that we have yet to discover and understand completely down to the bone.
I was never a history buff. All through school I avoided history and dismissed it as being in the past and so in a way, ‘who cares’. As we are seeing that history is in fact with us, it just has a different name and is dressed differently. What have we really changed when it comes to quality. I can see how life has changed on the surface but much under that surface has not changed as we are seeing. I can see I have much to learn from history that brings me a clearer picture of what is happening now. It’s not necessarily history repeating but more us going around in circles.
Reading this reminds me of the fact that separation from others is only possible when there is separation from our self-first. If we choose to live in connection to our self then we are also in connection to all others.
It’s very interesting that in the same way the Nazi party used one-sided propaganda to convince the German people of the so-called ‘problems’ with the Jewish citizens, the media covered the ‘Leave’ campaign much more than they did the Remain, giving the public more of a biased and one-sided view on Brexit.
Great blog Samantha, very informative, outlining truly what can happen when separatism is fostered and championed. Throughout our history some atrocious things have occurred, because man has not made life about equality and love. What is now happening in our modern day, the plight of refugees globally and the now most recent Brexit, whereby the actual repercussions of this decision are still unfolding. Either way, it is not moving us towards more connection and building global communities that are about working and living together. There is a long way to go.
There’s such a parallel here of historical events and the recent Brexit, that are certainly worthy of highlighting, to raise awareness about the choices currently being made that will have an impact on people and the future.
I was very appreciative of this blog as I had not fully felt the devastation of the choice for Britain to exit the EU – a great example of how we don’t really feel the effect of world events unless they touch us personally. I feel it is well worth drawing parallels with other disastrous choices that humanity has made to separate in the past. We still don’t seem to see the writing on the wall or the big picture. I have to wonder how many more disasters and wars we need to get it.
Nationalism seems like religion to me. It sets us up to think we are in different camps, have different beliefs and privileges. We become insular in our view of life, rather than seeing humanity as one. It feeds competition and a sense of right and wrong where this need not exist, as there really is only truth or lies (in the form of beliefs, ideals, ‘shoulds’). Truth unites us all.
“As humanity we have so, so much we can learn from one another; we can quite simply choose to learn and love or we can choose to retreat and hate – it is up to us”. It is only since I started to feel what inside people that I have appreciated how exquisite we really are and how there is always something more to discover, something magical within them. When we focus on the outer of a person and the differences we perceive, we miss out on all this.
The recounting of Hitler and the Nazi party’s rise to fame, shows what a vital role the media can play as agents of harm and destruction. The intention to sell newspapers no matter what the cost (which has only gotten worse from my observations) is clearly shown here. Getting behind the hatred, blame and separation and feeding it back to the public is huge karma. The devastating effects of this played out not only in Germany but across the world with WW2. Yet another reminder that every little choice we make affects everyone.
What is fascinating is that regardless of what the vote was we got to see how quite divided the country really is and how much people are not happy with the current state of affairs which is a reflection of the way they see life. I heard from a lot of people well what do we have to lose? ie. saying they weren’t happy now so any change is better than none. In my experience only love and truth bring true change – any other change is only temporary and needs to be constantly fueled.
Samantha, the love and truth felt in this blog shock my body to its core. When life is viewed by energy it’s apparent how black and white situations can be.
This very true observation about the evil of separation and how it has taken hold of mainstream media can feel disempowering and distressing. When we appreciate that in choosing to be in connection with ourselves and with the energy of harmony within us, we are dissolving evil with every step we take. This is true power in expression because it leaves a wake of grace or healing wherever we go.
I appreciate your mention of Winston Churchill’s statement: “There is a remedy which … would in a few years make all Europe … free and … happy. It is to re-create the European family, or as much of it as we can, and to provide it with a structure under which it can dwell in peace, in safety and in freedom.” This as well as his other statements is so wise, and so timeless. A statement that can easily be generalized to far greater today – we have the worldwide web, we should by now be a one worldwide family.
Hindsight is an amazing thing. If we had known what would become of the Nazi party’s meager beginnings, we would have taken steps to prevent the insanity that took hold of Germany. Yet like the current propaganda about refugees, we sit back and allow, perhaps because it doesn’t directly affect us or maybe we think the anti-refugee group have a few good points. Time and time again propaganda acts on our self-interest and creates separation. Warning bells should go off when we hear this strategy and know we are being played at our weaknesses.
Separation has never been a recipe for unity! If we do not learn from our history, are we not doomed to repeat it?
It was `bread and circuses’ in ancient Rome to pacify citizens need for stimulation and identification, but the much more powerful tool is to offer nationality as an identification of strength, belonging to a group endowed with attributes (in contrast to others who lack that attributes) giving you a sense of value, importance, uniqueness, pride.
As soon as we separate people into ‘them and us’ we breed concepts such as ‘nationalism’ which seed the potential for war and it is very easy to whip people up into a frenzy of fear and so people like Hitler can be used as puppets to spread evil through the world. As you say Samantha, “No one person, not even Hitler, is born ‘evil’. But when we are separated enough from the love we truly are, and allow hurts, ideals and beliefs to control us, we can allow great harm to come through.”
So well written Samantha and so called for, we are all equally one and nationalism is very effective in separating us.
What a great blog, calling at the truth of what is at play.
True evil is in the energy that incites separation. It is not at the core of being human and it is very confirming to travel around the world and experience people of many nationalities and cultures having a great commonality of openness and willingness to get on and learn from each other.
A whiff of fear-promoting propaganda and Humanity is gone – how quickly we run for the hills and hide behind race, nationality and any number of divisions – this camp or that camp to suit our stance at the time.
The outer division and war (whether actively playing out or brooding awaiting release) is reflective of the inner turmoil of Humanity. We live in a constant tension of the division between how we live our lives and the Inner-most Truth we each know contrary to this outplay. It is irresponsible to destroy the otherwise unity with others, condemn one’s neighbour and ‘batten the hatches’ to keep our brothers out – in avoidance of self-review and seeking to heal our own inner-war to restore harmony within.
Why is premier May so insistent on putting article 50 in action? There’s a major call from so many in and outside of England that are calling for reconsidering Brexit. As much more is known now about the consequences of a Brexit, we are to not stubbornly hold on to what’s been chosen one day, but learn from history and commit to the ‘marriage’ we once started. Let’s be wise and continue building a union that is to dissolve all the different ideals and beliefs. Do we want to trust and work harmoniously together or do we want to hide behind our fortresses, forever waiting for others to take the (first) step? Expansion is forever, evolving is forever just like our economies. I love all the people from Great Britain to the bone and can strongly feel that we need all of them to keep the foundation that we’ve build over the years. And from that foundation we can build.
As long as we seek identification in being different, unique, special, belonging to this but not that group of people we will be in disharmony with self and each other. In disharmony separation, discrimination, racism, conflict, fight and war are inevitable. Understanding ourselves as equal is key to harmony, it is a personal choice right here and now and we don´t need to wait for the world to change before we can change.
I have so many friends / family or more correctly true family, who are from all over the world that are standing up for and expressing truth with such love and dedication to humanity. What binds us together in brotherhood is our connection to our inner heart. I feel this binding in the students of the Livingness and in all of Humanity and more and more of humanity are also standing up for truth!
Racism is becoming very evident after the Brexit vote, there has been an increase in hate crime and many have made it clear that they do not want a country full of immigrants for various reasons, blaming them for taking their jobs and getting social assistance immediately. It is actually exposing the hate people had before in thought, but didn’t physically act on before, and energetically there really isn’t any difference.
Samantha this is a very powerful piece of writing that exposes what many of us did not want to see for Brexit – that we are calling in the same energy as WW2 and we are sitting back and letting it happen. The fact is we are no different from each other, and as you say – there are people from all walks of life all over the world, and they are just like us. Sure culture, religion and boarders are a factor but they exist because they separate us, not because they unite us. Take these out of the equation and we have someone just the same as the next person. To consider how we feel and the energy rather than just what we see is so important in this equation.
A very powerful blog Samantha. We are not re-writing history at all, we just repeated same mistakes in a different dress. – over and over. To truly amend all we have done, to change the world, we need to understand that unless we come from a foundation of true harmony there is always a place for the evil of separatism to reside.
Hello Samantha and I appreciate you writing about this. When we go back to recorded history it becomes a little scary with how it reads, “How was this possible? What had persuaded people to turn against their neighbours and business associates, made them suspicious of their friends and relatives? The national media got behind Hitler to create and incite more hatred and blame, promoting a feeling of separation towards all people in minority. On an international scale, Time Magazine named Hitler ‘man of the year’ in 1938.” So if Hitler is a name we have been lead to believe was a single man that did so many ‘evil’ things, why in the media was he ‘man of the year’ in 1938? What was the media’s response in all that was happening in 1938 and are we simply going around in circles again? This article itself is very sobering, thank you.
What an immensely powerful read, worthy of major newspapers throughout the world.
Both are historical examples of experiments driven by promises of returning to false idilic pictures the, in the past, and most certainly in the future, have led to results that are starkly different from the pictures that were able to mobilise the people in the hope for a better future.
“So what instigates someone to hate someone else based on their differences?” To get to this stage there has to already be a high level of separatism and a divorce from the knowing of the love we all innately carry and are equally so. For one person to live from this state is clearly not a good thing, for a large percentage of the population, or a whole nation, to be living from this separation is devastating. To cope in life with these waves and undercurrents and to not feel their impact we have to work hard to numb and distract ourselves from what is truly going on.
“When we do not claim the love we all naturally are we end up expressing what we are not; allowing the energy of separation and evil to run through us.” This is an understanding that needs to be widely disseminated as it changes the focus of how to counter and eliminate evil. Instead of focusing on the evil, which only enhances it, we build and emanate from “the love we all naturally are” we deny evil its fuel and in its place establish a force that evil cannot counter.
What a powerful article Samantha bringing to light the separation and evil that exists in the world today and the parallels with the lead up to WW11. I feel though that which is playing out on the world stage can only be a reflection of what is happening on a personal scale in our own hearts and lives and requires deep self honesty and personal responsibility to observe, no matter how subtle, our own separating ways.
Samantha, thank you for this informational piece on Brexit, which is something I was a little out of the loop with. From what you have shared, I can understand how you say that “The recent British referendum has fractured Europe, divided families and split the country.” – this is headed in the opposite direction of harmony and unity. Perhaps a lesson to be learned, all over again?
Wonderfully powerful article calling it as it is. Thank you Samantha. This phrase alone speaks volumes for me: “True brotherhood is universal, it is not about blood or nationality; we are all one family and the fact we don’t acknowledge this is a big reason for why we currently find the world in such a mess.”
How much responsibility do we have if we truly take these words for the Wisdom they hold: “When we do not claim the love we all naturally are we end up expressing what we are not; allowing the energy of separation and evil to run through us.”.
The fact that Brexit occured is a reflection for us all – not only for the people in and from Great Brittain – then what is the energy that we choose on a daily basis. Could it be that we as a species allow a lot of separative energy coming through us. Rather then the loving energy we all naturally are. And if we don’t understand exactly what this means, wouldn’t it be wise to give it a second feel? What if the whole world would accept the fact that we’re responsible for everything that happens on our planet. And that there is a way to live harmoniously together and celebrate and adore each other’s Wisdom and qualities. What if…
Evil is separation – Samantha this is true to its very core. In working in the industry of DNA and ancestry testing, it is so clear that my genetic makeup cannot be from just one place. I am born in Australia but where I am born is not reflective of what makes me up. I am a complete mix from different countries all around the world – as is everyone – genetics show us in black and white that we’re all connected and made up of different parts of the world – there can be no separation in our bodies, it is simply something made up in our mind that we’ve given traction too.
The macrocosm always has a way of reflecting the microcosm. What happens in our personal relationships also plays out on the world stage.
Just the fact that the propaganda machine was so effective that Hitler was named man of the year by Time magazine should give us all a sobering pause for thought… things are no different now, its just that the tools for manipulation have become so much more sophisticated.
No one person is responsible for these atrocities and we all have a responsibility to look at the separation and hurt in our own lives no matter how small and having conversations sharing about what we are learning.
The notion of being global and or world citizens is in its infancy yet despite all the big words. Being universal is even another caliber beyond everything defined by our human dimension we need to grow up to actually, we need to understand ourselves as much more than just humans.
In fact, the war is not over. We fight each other. At home in our families; in school and via Internet bullying is getting terrible. On our workplaces, on the street – its everywhere: we are looking to better our life and if it is not ‘good’ w are looking for someone to blame for it. We call it peace but I call it war as long w are not living in harmony together.
What an amazing article Samantha! And I agree, to bring Europe together is just the first step to bring the world and its inhabitants together – or better said: to express finally the truth, that we are all brothers and sisters. That the Europe Community is not perfectly working yet does just show how it needs more commitment and activity. Brexit is the opposite of this and a backward step in development. At the other hand it shows and brings really to stage how much ‘separation’ is lived in in our thinking and actions. This is hurting us all and we see where this is leading to. We have to take responsibility about our actions and thoughts and make them combining instead of separative – thats the only way to not go ahead WITH each other.
Samantha I was looking back on this and realising that with all the propaganda going on it was never seen as propaganda. For me the vote was simple, there would be no way we would want to leave Europe regardless of the issues, yet I had not fully appreciated the lies that were being told about the benefits of leaving. It shows me that there are still many things in the world that I take at face value instead of feeling what is behind them.
David, this a very honest and open comment here – and I too must say that I have fallen for face value time and time again and not looked further into what is truly going on behind the scenes. What Samantha has presented has opened up my eyes and my understanding further too. This is the kind of articles we need to be reading more – ones that present the truth and allow us to understand the dynamics behind much of the politics.
I have a fascination with world affairs and politics, hence I read your blog Samantha with great interest and appreciation.
The evil and destruction that arises from separative behaviours, from the micro to the macro, is staggering; your expose on this is very informative, thank you. What you have written here says it all;
“When we do not claim the love we all naturally are we end up expressing what we are not; allowing the energy of separation and evil to run through us”
To feel the warmth and fires of true brotherhood, to then hate or go to war is impossible. The restoration of brotherhood, inclusion, therefore is the way of ending bitterness, and all war.
“How people have a choice to be racist, ignoring and condemning you based on an ideal they may have, or how they can choose to treat you with equality, love and respect” – whenever this issue of racism rears its ugly head, i always think and given my sense of reincarnation, that it is the most absurd thing ever to uphold.. because we will have been the exact race, culture, nationality etc. we have a race issue against, as we have our present incarnation/life. Racism therefore becomes a weapon of irresponsibility used not just for attacking someone, but also to resist the knowing of reincarnation and all that brings in regards restoring imbalance and disharmony through right/loving living.
This article is bring the light of truth in what is really going on and Samantha it is very inspiring to feel how this has had an enormous impact on you. To be able to to see and feel the enormous impact it has had on everyone in the UK, EU and the world is as you say very very devastating.
‘On an international scale, Time Magazine named Hitler ‘man of the year’ in 1938.’ if ever we needed a reason to question how our media and popular culture are misguided surely this is it.
“Any decision that is not based on real love must then be evil (separation).” Such a short sentence that changes our entire relationship with every single decision we make in life. If everything we do is not first rooted in real love, i.e completely void of any emotional bias, self-interest, gain or glory then the choice can only come from evil. The magnitude of this is yet to be fully and completely comprehended and applies equally to ‘good’ and ‘bad’ choices. Learning to make ‘true’ choices’ is a new awareness that will quite rightly challenge many of our accepted social norms. Any form of racism is evil, whether it takes the form of persecution or elitism; it creates separation where in truth none exists. We are all one family and it’s our responsibility make life about real love and to return to this truth as quickly as we can.
Your explanation of the separation that we choose Samantha goes way deeper than the superficial arguments we mostly have around the differences we cannot tolerate. In exposing how we choose to separate ourselves from others we are also exposing how we in truth separated from our true selves.
I find it very interesting that one of the factors that led to Germany’s general discontent and gave Hitler his platform to rise to power was the treaty of Versailles which was in itself a very separative, reactionary and divisive agreement that was not designed to unify Europe. This treaty itself was a reaction to the horror of world war one and the divisiveness of that event. So one separative act breeds another one with even more dire consequences. It seems that once we allow separatism to be in our societies it can easily snowball and spread. So we need to call it out wherever it exists and rather than react, choose another way that unifies humanity rather than separates it.
I agree Samantha, nationalism, individualism and separation are not the way forward, we need to learn to live together with our families as much as with our neighboring countries. And if someone is in need because they lost their home and country we cannot deny them support and refuse to share what we have with them, we have to find ways to deal with that and shutting down our country, building protection around us is certainly not the answer.
Thank you for sharing, Samantha.
That the truth of brotherhood you walk this earth with Samantha, will be felt by the whole of England and the world, how deeply blessed we are.
Samantha what an awesome article that I agree whole heartily with, the devastation of what took place on the 24th July has not yet fully been understood or accepted. This is a very bitter pill to swallow and that doesn’t even sum it up. Until we start to see the detrimental effects of when UK starts to physically leave the EU will we start to really get what has been chosen. I could not watch any tv or media during the lead up to the 24th as it literally made me feel sick the amount of lies and abuse that was taking place. It was disgusting how vile it really became.
“I have felt so blessed to have been able to travel and experience getting to know others and see through labels such as race and religion. ” And what an immense blessing it is, but at the same time perfectly natural. When we have an open heart and an open mind, connecting to people who live in different parts of the world is so simple, so easy. It’s only when we have given up and closed down within ourselves that we allow these labels to set us apart and that is how the energy of evil can play with us. Addressing racism requires a huge amount of love, not only for those who are its victims but for those who allow this evil energy to play out through them. When we are consistent, open, inclusive, appreciative, honest and firm, we offer a quality people can trust in again and open up the road to trusting humanity.
“When we do not claim the love we all naturally are we end up expressing what we are not; allowing the energy of separation and evil to run through us.” This is such a powerful awareness and truly supports an understanding of what the out play of our individual choices based on our own un-dealt with concerns, can have an all of humanity. We are all equally responsible for the state of the world, the mis-placed people and the fear amongst us. From neighbours to nationalism the fear we feel is the choice to identify our own needs and wants beyond love and caring for ourselves and others as equal divine beings.
“Before Hitler came to power, Jewish and German citizens had lived and worked side by side”
Before Brexit came along, people from Great Britain and all the other countries in Europe lived and worked side by side.
It’s only emotional turmoil inside of people that made people think that choosing for separation, individuality would be supportive for both Great Britain as well as Europe. Of course, when people fight with each other, the relationship improves… This may seem absurd, but in truth this is what happened. Every one of us has the right to choose individualism or collectivity. If we would only feel the two words there’s a great difference… One is light and embracing of the all, the other is tight and not encompassing of the whole. One is the Soul’s light and the other one’s the spirit’s light. Only when the two are in union there’s true love. The future will tell us if we’ve learnt from it or not.
This is a superb piece of writing Samantha, unfortunately in it’s ugly truth, highlighting how we as a humanity are really responsible for so much that do not wish to acknowledge. If only we all knew about energy and how what we choose comes from an energy that is driving us, then we may have enough sense and real care for others to start looking at our part in the choices we are making that affect everyone. Everything is energy, and everything matters.
Samantha a great and in depth article revealing what truly lies behind these choices. I too could feel the enormity of our collective decision as a country to choose separation that morning the results came out. What was even sadder was that no one I knew or that others knew of voted this way. It was like a collective groundswell emerged and tidal waved the votes, pulling them all back out to see never to be seen again. A great lesson in staying tuned in to people, how they are feeling, what they are choosing and not being complacent in our choices, EVER.
‘So what instigates someone to hate someone else based on their differences?’ Hate is simply an excuse to not live a level of responsibility to all – equally so – that we are all called to live.
When I heard the news of the decision to leave Europe I felt how I’d imagined people were told war had broke out. I cried and couldn’t shake off the feeling that evil was in the separation of people from people. It’s been a few months since and economists are talking about it’s not so bad as predicted etc. People seem to be retreating into the comfort of all is well. I’ll perhaps not be affected as I was. But every time I consider this division hasn’t yet been actioned I feel as if waking up from a bad dream and realising the dream is still a reality. The process of division hasn’t yet begun and it is going to require a great love and understanding of all to keep on upholding what it true and say no to a greater degree of abuse that will try to establish being the norm.
It can be all to easy to point our finger at the past and conveniently forget about the present and that what happened then is only a few choices away now- we may seem to be evolving in our technology, but have we really evolved past the separation, frustrations, anger, resentments and long held beliefs that fuelled these conflicts of the past?
Samantha, your whole blog is GOLD! And here is the punch line once again: “We need to remember we are far more than our nationality, race, colour or creed, we are all equal, we are in fact universal and any movement away from this is playing with the same evil that created, instigated and orchestrated World War II.”
‘Nationalism was a huge motivating force in Hitler’s agenda.’ It goes without saying that nationalism is an energy that is loaded with the evil seed of separation – how on earth can we live as one humanity if there are any one person or nation that are superior?
It’s very shocking to read the comments posted on online newspaper articles such as those by The Sun about Brexit… The vile and twisted abuse that can be read is a marker of how this referendum and our choice to Leave the EU has brought a huge culture and activity of racism to the surface, exposing how people have been thinking for many years and what’s been going on in our society.
Nationalism is scary. It has a force that feeds separation and division. It contains the energy of war.
An amazingly brilliant and truthful article bringing a refreshing knowing and truth to the cause and effects of Brexit
The separation it came from and the separation it will continue to bring is something to really take care to highlight and see and not to be kept in the illusion of what is really going on. A great call Samantha and beautifully written and the reality of all you share really does make absolute sense and rings true and the oneness of our world needs to be brought back to light by our living way.
I also have been shocked, when I heard the outcome of the Brexit vote and there has been a huge media response to it. But what is scaring me most is that silent process of accepting those results as normal as the way life and humanity is.
So thank you – for this blog- it keeps reminding me to speak up and do not accept less as the love we are.
“When we do not claim the love we all naturally are we end up expressing what we are not; allowing the energy of separation and evil to run through us.”
The more aware we get of the energy which is love and those which is not love we are able to claim our power of love and start to live it on a daily basis. The part of claiming what we got aware of is very important in order to bring it alive.
‘Coming out of the EU will be costly; emotionally and financially the consequences and implications are enormous. We are already seeing how incidents of hate crime have skyrocketed since the result, and far right movements across the world rub their hands with glee as they too contemplate separation.’ The economic argument for leaving Europe to me didn’t make sense, but time will tell on that front. The reports of racially motivated hate crimes increasing the day after Brexit was shocking…it was as if those who voted to leave on the argument of immigration were suddenly given permission to bring out their views in this way. We cannot underestimate how Britain’s decision to leave Europe will affect the descions of others world wide.
Brilliant article. Nationalism is one of the cornerstones of true separation, and in itself has been responsible for much war, and in itself was one of the major driving forces of both WW1 and WWII, and yet – our media, our politicians, and indeed society itself seems intent on fostering separation by encouraging nationalism as some saving grace to the evil that surrounds us.
The campaign to leave Europe was a curious mix of a number of things, it struck me as odd that David Cameron called the vote yet was campaigning against it. It gives the impression that it is played as a game by those with power and influence, the media choose a side and influence many people with their words. Yet where is the responsibility in this, the bigger picture is that Europe has done much for the UK, not all the negative headlines we read, and that the stability of Europe owes a lot to the unity the EU has created. Partnerships are never perfect but they need work, they need attention, running away will not solve anything and it won’t make the disenfranchised suddenly prosperous, as the EU was never the problem, the problem is the corruption endemic in all our countries, society at large shares a common lack of equality.
Reading your article brought to mind the shocking stories my Russian and Ukranian parents used to tell myself and my brothers about the devastating effects brought about in their villages, towns and countries as a consequence of communism being introduced and firmly adopted in the USSR. Instead of operating on the uniting principle of working together for ‘the common good of all’ – within a very short space of time, power, greed and corruption raised its ugly head and much misery followed in its wake. One horrific example was how school children were ordered to spy on their parents in the home and report back to their teachers which, in some cases, led to either one, or sometimes both, of their parents being arrested. This is nothing short of pure evil.
A very inspiring read Samantha, thank you.
It is interesting how we can see ourselves as so separate and individual from one another – like our minds have pictures of how people should be, how life should be… and yet if we take our skin and hair off our bodies we are all exactly the same underneath – there is no difference between any of us… we are all the same: our skin and hair colour, along with our qualities, are the details that make each one of us a unique part of the one big family.
A truly powerful piece that draws the necessary parallels with the ingredients that led to WW2 and ensures we remember the evil that always lurks alongside complacency.
In politics, I find it quite scary to look back over history. because I see men and women who turn up to work each day, doing their jobs to the best of their ability, with the skills and resources that they have at their disposal, but perhaps unsupported to be able to address the bigger to biggest picture. How many of us are totally exhausted just by day to day living. Imagine being that tired and having to make major decisions that will affect an entire nation and all of its relationships with the world.
This is why perhaps eventually, we the people need not to stand up and take matters in to our own hands, but to be there alongside the politicians, the government bodies, the schools, the community projects. Make life happen as opposed to watching it unfold on the tv and then being disappointed or angry when things do not go our own way, and yet we never took the time to be the change we want to see.
I work in an industry that brings the world to my door step. Every day I have the amazing opportunity to meet people who live in different countries, who have different cultural expectations and expressions, it’s called the Tourist Industry and Britain’s economy is quite dependent on it. What I know and have always known is that all these apparent differences in culture and race are mere decorations, icing on the cake. Underneath we are all made from the same ingredients, we are all sensitive, tender people and keeping our hearts open to one another is extremely important in these ‘tinder dry’ conditions. If we want a rich life, then make life about people, there is nothing more fulfilling than enjoying a wide variety of friendships from all around the world, nothing else fills the heart with so much joy.
What I found very interesting is how difficult it is for those politicians advocating Brexit in the UK to have constructive and positive relationships with their peers.
Running on emotions seems not to be a very unifying and economical great thing to do. History has illustrated this very clearly. Not only in world war II but in all wars. At micro level I can tell that in my life nothing that had a seed of separation in it ever worked. So both on macro and micro levels we are shown everyday that our greatest form of wisdom and economical heights are in working together. The world craves for being loved and to be able to love, hence all the emotions. Are we willing to look back at history, learn from it and move on towards a more unifying and harmonious way of being and living together or are we choosing another world war?
History is full of people who have called for a certain type of unity to great success, ‘vote for us and we will have power’. Hitler as you show in your example Samantha offered this idea of a greater stronger Aryan race. But none of these include the whole human race, none hold everyone as an equal being worthy of love and an abuse-free life. So is it not time we stopped settling for poor substitutes for the Love and unity we are designed to feel?
The truth is we are one humanity – all thoughts and activity that do not have this truth as their foundation are bound to fail and your sharing illustrates this beautifully Samantha.
“The recipe of propaganda, a false picture of a better life and a cry for change, all mixed together with the stench of nationalism (sound familiar yet?)” Yes, this does feel scaringly familiar and whilst there may be cries of ‘this is nothing like the Third Reich’ the energetics feel the same.’
I live on the other side of the world and those parallels have not been lost on me either, they are eerily and frighteningly identical and need to be written about, spoken about, and discussed widely as you so eloquently have Samantha. Bravo to you.
It will be very interesting to see the after effects of Brexit, and whether the British people realise the choice that they made for separation over unity.
Yes, and if they are lucky and will be able to revisit this choice. The referendum is non-binding.
Yes, Mary, the underlying tension in the UK is now out in the open, exposing how much we have had our heads in the sand and not been willing to feel what is really going on.
Yes, the last quote from Winston Churchill does indeed sound like a prophesy, and yet who would have thought that decades of relationship building and co-operation could be destroyed in one day. We are now left to live the consequences of our collective irresponsibility and learn from this situation, so that we never choose separation over love ever again.
We will eventually return to a way of being that will mean that when we look into another’s eyes, all we shall see is ourself.
Samantha this is such a stunning, solid piece of writing that says so much.
Thank you for sharing Samantha, I agree with what you have said about brexit – no body really wanted it but were swelled up into thinking it would be the best thing and others thought the chance of voting out would never happen so did not even bother to vote! The day after one of the most googled searches was about the European Union and what it is – which shows that many who voted did not actually know what they were voting to leave. It goes to show how easily we can be swayed and manipulated by the media.
Having read this article for the first time yesterday I could not but come back to it today again. It feels like such a complete appraisal of how things are and our extraordinary ability not to learn from history and the cyclical patterns of our behaviour.
The separation you describe Samantha is indeed happening at so many levels of society, within families, between neighbours, between colleagues and organisations, countries and nations. We seem to want more and more boundaries on land and at sea to own things such as resources, power and control others. Is it the constant fear of losing our security and perceived protection that sets us up to see another as a potential threat?
An honest, hard hitting and stunning piece of writing. The choice to love or hate is up to us and as history and life shows us repeatedly, separation does not serve us individually or as a whole.
What you present here Samantha is so true – you make it so clear as to how these behaviours have, and are currently, playing out.
As a humanity we do need to wake up and realise that we are one big family… that abuse even of one person in the world is not ok.
The intention of the media has much to answer for… however it is also up to each one of us to be willing to discern what is truly going on around us, and to speak up – our silence only encourages this evil behaviour.
The separation of UK from the European Union is a global example magnifying the ‘them’ and ‘us’ attitude, which is an attempt to erode the very fabric of the human knowing, that we are one world, one whole union, and one brotherhood of people.
“When we do not claim the love we all naturally are we end up expressing what we are not;” – So easy and clear when phrased this way Samantha, and a very simple but extremely powerful truth.
Beautifully expressed Samantha – ” .. We need to remember we are far more than our nationality, race, colour or creed, we are all equal, we are in fact universal …”, so true, and something to carry at the forefront of our mind, to remember this in all our interactions no matter who it is with,
Wow, thank you Samantha for this very powerful blog. You have covered so much and it is hugely exposing of what is actually going on. The evil of separation is being played out not just in Europe but I feel it is happening globally, it is happening in our own homes, in our work place and in our governments, schools, and pretty much everywhere I turn separation is present. We all have the ability to change this, to choose love over separation and live united as ONE. I feel I have a responsibility here for true change, firstly for me to live my life without separation but with true love and harmony to the best of my ability. Also to embrace and inspire each other to live who we truly are, we are indeed universal and to share who we are with humanity to break down our barriers and separation.
A superb piece of writing Samantha that clearly exposes the real evil of a decision that was made by less than a third of the U.K population to pull out of a partnership that has truly benefitted everyone in the country, a fact that will only become clear when the process of exiting the European Union begins. But what is has exposed is that we have not really dealt with the energy of persecution and separatism that sparked World War II and maybe the Brexit vote has put it back under our noses so that we do deal with it once and for all. The world is too small a place now for any country to think it can go its own way and not have to work at its national and international relationships. Britain has been a major player in world politics, the way we choose to deal with the rise in racism here is critical, a lot of other countries and nations are watching our every move. It is therefore vital that the message we broadcast is one of unity, compassion and respect to all of mankind, that we are all one brotherhood that has the ability to overcome our short-sighted and self-centered ignorance and that abuse of any kind is no longer an acceptable expression in any society.
“When we do not claim the love we all naturally are we end up expressing what we are not; allowing the energy of separation and evil to run through us.” – this is so (sadly) true. Which means that in fact we are together as a species responsible for each and every war. The outher war is ‘just’ a manifestation of the inner war that is inside of us. To keep a relationship going, it asks for love and understanding. Being judgemental and bullying is easy, it is commenting from the outside without taking any responsibility. And as Brexit clearly has shown us, no one of the campaigners for Brexit was and is willing to take responsibility. There’s no one to blame or at least no one should be blamed, but – obvious to me – honesty is required, not emotional decisions building on an intention that never came from love. If we’ll be building on the no, whatever comes forth out of the talking, will be separative – even when it ‘looks’ good on the outside. Are we willing to be honest that we want connection, humbleness and appreciation? And if we dare to ask the important question, what is necessary to re-build trust?
“When we do not claim the love we all naturally are we end up expressing what we are not; allowing the energy of separation and evil to run through us.” Very true Samantha. Thus we have a responsibility to ourselves – and to everyone – to be aware of what energy we are allowing in – in effect choosing – in all our daily movements and thoughts.
Samantha this is so true and so down to Earth. I love the way you expressed and researched. This is an article that should be in any newspaper all over the world on the FrontPage.
Equalness brings with it tremendous responsibility; whilst nationalism feeds the idea that we are ‘separate’ from each other as human beings, and thus fosters irresponsibility on every level; including encouraging harm towards others under the guise of it being ‘good’ or ‘for your country’.
I too have been fortunate to have travelled all over the world and am constantly amazed at how language, traditions, cultures can so easily be bridged when I meet people in absolute equality. Indeed I would add that they have zero bearing on that connection – for example, conversely, I often feel most foreign in America – a country that shares my language and many of my cultures and systems. My point being that it has nothing to do with any of those structures. It is only ever about people. Brexit is a massively dividing and evil separative force. The ripples will be felt far and wide – whether the ripples become waves or tsunamis will depend on all of us. We each, more than ever, have the hugest responsibility to be doing everything that we can to connect to our equal brothers and show each other that none of us are defined by the country we live in nor the culture or religion or ideology that we have aligned to. We are all people. All the same.
The one good thing that comes out of all this is to expose the amount of racism that exists in the UK, in England especially. We have been a multi-national country right from the start – invaded constantly by people from different lands – those who are objecting to ‘foreigners’ coming in will be surprised to find that their own DNA is not at all pure Bred English. For whatever reason we are naturally suspicious of strangers, pulling up the drawbridge, refusing to recognise that migrants, incoming people of any nation all have something to offer, many of them want to work, to earn a living, to support their families, to make a contribution. Freezing anyone out just makes us look stupid.
I travelled on the Eurostar the day after the Brexit vote. Handing over my passport was such a profound experience. I felt the separation. 100%. I concur entirely with what is said in this blog. Because I felt it.
I also noticed the role the media was creating for itself to incite fear and bias in the stories, and where they published articles was deliberately planned. The ‘For’ articles were generally published in newspapers with mass readership – easy pickings for such propaganda, very much along the lines of the late 30’s and early 40’s Germany
To read through the labyrinth of politics and corruption is a healing service for all. Thank you, Samantha, for bringing forth the truth for us. Separation is evil is Brexit.
It is great to have this on the table for open and sensible discussion.
Division has plagued mankind since the beginning of time and delivered us naught.
We are at war within ourselves to seek to cast such horror outward – to diminish another and to see them as less deserving of freedom and true living.
The sheer arrogance to consider that we have the right to determine who belongs and who does not when we enhouse this earth together (one humanity) – madness on a grand scale. How far from our Divinity we are to pit one against another and to see our fellow brothers suffer.
“When we do not claim the love we all naturally are we end up expressing what we are not; allowing the energy of separation and evil to run through us.” A truly insightful observation of how the energy of evilness can flow through us and thereby showing clearly how important it is for us to claim and return our natural state of being: love.
It is worthwhile noting how in the UK National Front Party ( NFP) )ideology was re-packaged in the form of UKIP (UK Independence Party). UKIP learned from the failings of the NFP and chose individuals and leaders with more popular appeal to ‘front’ the party. It played on weaknesses and fears of the vulnerable, unaware, unemployed or low employment communities. Statistics show that UKIP appealed to many so called disenfranchised working people, but also older voters who wanted ‘their country back’. 65% of voters aged 65 + and 56% of those age 50-64 voted for Brexit. As opposed to 75% of people aged 18-25 and 56% aged 25-49 who voted to stay within Europe.(i). This shows that younger people see the value of staying connected and within Europe and many of these have also developed relationships with other europeans and nationalities or travelled outside the UK and Europe. We can be heartened to know that a significant proportion of younger people were open to truth and were not influenced by the negative and stereotypical media and UKIP hysteria about european migrants.
(i) yougove exit poll
You say “The recent British referendum has fractured Europe, divided families and split the country.” Perhaps the referendum has exposed a rot, lack of care, irresponsibility and separatism that was already there and brought it to the surface?
It’s scary the parallels between Brexit and Nazi Germany, I’ve been horrified by the hate crimes going on against foreign citizens here. We are all people, and deserve the same integrity and respect wherever we’re from, we don’t own this planet – we’re guardians of it.
It is deeply distressing that anyone can turn against anyone. World war 2 and Brexit are simply magnified versions of how we can be with each other every day. War and separation exist within our community and in our relationships with each other all the time. Until we open our hearts to the people around us we cannot open our hearts to the world. The pain of this is excruciating, and the effects are devastating.
It was fascinating to watch people wake up on the day of the result of Brexit and a feeling or shock, grief and regret blanket the whole country – many who voted to leave suddenly seemed to snap out of the trance they where in and want to take back their vote. It was like as you say, people got caught up in a collective mindset that some snapped out of once the vote was cast and others have carried on with, feeling as though the vote to leave gives permission to verbally and physically abuse.
Thank you for sharing Samantha, there are indeed similarities between the recent Brexit referendum (and decision) and the lead up to WWII. It’s very true what you’ve shared about how the media has played a large part in both events, and it shocked me just how much ‘Leave’ coverage there was in the UK during the referendum, and also the fact that they printed a number of lies (that were discovered post-vote) influencing people to vote out of the EU. It’s very interesting that in both cases the media chose to back separation… Perhaps this just exposes what makes up the energetic backbone of the media.
Samantha I love the way you have presented the facts so clearly, it is something we should very much heed. As you have shown there are many parallels between Brexit and World War II and no doubt many other wars throughout the ages. Through separation we make life about ourselves and not everyone else, we become insular and isolated and this we can see is happening with Brexit, our fear for the refugees flooding our countries, filled by media hype and propaganda has caused the UK to step back as one of the leading countries, lighting the way for unity and understanding.
‘The national media got behind Hitler to create and incite more hatred and blame, promoting a feeling of separation towards all people in minority. On an international scale, Time Magazine named Hitler ‘man of the year’ in 1938.’ This is exposes the evils of the media who sadly still operate in the same way the world over today. Isn’t it time that the public became more discerning and reflective on what is published? There is the adage ‘we can learn from History’ but do we really? We tend to repeat the same again time over.
Nationalism can only flourish by emphasising the differences of one group of people from those around them and crucially that particular group’s superiority over others. Thus by its very nature it fosters separation and prejudice and has led to many atrocities carried out in its name. Europe has had years of divisive wars fought in the name of nationalism and now is the time to build unity and brotherhood not inflict further separation. We would all do well to heed Sir Winston Churchill’s wise words and build bridges and not walls with our fellow brothers.
Samantha, amazing article, so clearly written, when the results of Brexit came in I felt very sad, I didn’t quite understand the enormity of what had happened but just felt in my body how awful it was, reading your article I can now understand why. I have witnessed and heard about cruel words being used against friends who have moved to the Uk from other countries, this is shocking to see and hear about, Brexit has incited separation and it seems completly crazy that people who have been happily living side by side are now being targeted and told to leave the country, this has caused much upset for these families. The energy behind Brexit feels like pure evil and I can feel how important it is for us all to not allow this situation to escalate as it did with Hitler.
For as long as we blame another for our misery the world will continue to remain in separation. We have to take responsibility for what is going on in the world and be willing to heal the separation within us.
Samantha, this article I will come back to many times. It is beautifully written, authoritative, clear and very steadying as you explain succinctly and with pin point accuracy what lies behind Brexit. I was shaken to my core by our decision to leave The European Union… I knew what I felt was true and your article has confirmed the horror I was feeling.
True love has no nationalism, no pride, no emotions, no hatred, for true Love is us surrendering to our innermost, which is our divine connection.
Thank you Samantha for your indepth sharing on what you see as the possible result of the Brexit . I will admit I had not fully appreciated what it was all about even when the news came of the exit of the UK from the European Union. As you explained so succinctly the repercussions could be quite devastating! I must admit I am quite shocked at your sharing of the scary connection to the words Sir Winston Churchill spoke all those years ago! I have read this morning a little more on Australia’s Refugee Policy ( I don’t understand our selfish attitude) and what that means for not only the refugees but other rich nations unfortunately taking our lead too!
Samantha, what you have written here is absolutely amazing – I love in particular your love for people and your love for humanity and what is truly needed to bring us all together – this is palpable and brought tears to my eyes as I read the blog. To hold all as equals is something that is sorely missing in our current world, and would be an incredible healing for us all. To hold all as equal and to cherish each person as if they were our son, our daughter, our father or mother or sister or brother – how precious would our world then be, or more correctly how precious would we all be? And this is no Utopian call, no wanna-be hippie call for ‘all we want is Lurve’…it is a true call for what we know innately to be true – that we have the capacity within each of us to bring so much more to the world and each other. And we are all a part of the puzzle, every single one of us. It begins in our own homes, opening up our hearts to each other, letting each other in no holes barred, no guards up. We can just practice this on a small scale, and watch out, because it will have an impact on a larger scale too as we all unite to express and share and let more unfold.
What a very informative expose on the power of evil, the overwhelming lack of understanding and the absolutely devastating effects that inevitably follow.
From the other side of the world Samantha Brexit did feel wrong and evil fuelled by separatists, selfishness and a media who incited this evil.
Powerful article Samantha, I love that you went into the detail about how Hitler actually came to power, it was a slow eroding of unity, the energy played on desperation and sealed the deal with fear, once it had you, that was all that was needed, after that, it can do what ever it liked because it is already in power, a power that it ‘legitimately’ got to. Its the tiny choices away from brotherhood that allow us to be controlled in this way, nobody liked the mass murder that went on in World War 2 but each time we say yes to separation, then what else are we saying yes to?
Thanks for writing this Samantha, it is the easiest piece of history that I have been able to read. I realise how I have often struggled to read history probably because it has been twisted and not expressed in truth. Thank you so much.
Modern history was never a strong point of mine at school, well, probably because most of it was really boring as it missed out on the fundamental key of life – energy. Samantha, this article reads so beautifully and I have a sense of total equality when reading it – I understand the similarities and the potential harm and devastation that separation will have on the world (and has already had).
Traveling through India and Nepal I was welcomed into the homes of many. I was so touched with how little these people had but how much they wanted to share what they had anyway, with a perfect stranger. Connection goes far beyond the confines of the physical world and our heart has no boundaries.
Many of us have been touched by the openness and innate generosity of fellow humans around the world – does this not expose further the utter madness of the structures, religions, social frameworks, institutions and beliefs that separate and divide us?
Samantha, you have exposed so much in your article and called for us all to wake up and to act. What is happening overseas is happening in the lives of all humanity in the choices we are all making small and large. Thank you for this article it has brought much to ponder.
Believing that, as just ourselves, we have no power, has kept us stuck in all of this mess we call our lives for so long. We have proven it time and time again through history, that when natural disasters (earth’s corrections) come upon us, we all band together in brotherhood and help each other. It is our naturally impulse way, so we can never be alone, we are all connected and we need to start talking to each other about these kinds of things and not just accept we cant do anything. We are powerful beyond compare, every one of us, and together, we can change the world.
Thank you Samantha. I learnt a lot from this article. It’s so interesting how much we as a society ignore feeling. All the energetic reasons you’ve suggested make perfect sense and it’s such a shame that so few people are willing to talk about the truth.
Although the events may be different the forces which create them are the same as is so clearly shown here. It is the energy behind these events, which fuel us to be opposed to each other and to act in total disregard which we must now continue to expose as the real evil behind the actions of men.
wow this really explores the fact that we are vessels and what we have control of is our choices. So in the case of hitler, he was almost a puppet to exactly what was needed to tear a country apart. To turn neighbours on each other. It shows there is something so much bigger at play here than just people. There is energy in everything and it is our responsibility to live in a way where we can distinguish between allowing an energy that will heal or harm.
What I find so very scary in this instance is the power the media seems to garner in situations like Brexit. This is constantly seen in the reporting of general news, but seems to fly under the radar, yet is doing the same thing daily. That is placing the seeds into people’s minds that there is cause to demonise a group of people, or just one person, it doesn’t matter.
What is so disturbing is that this has been building for years, yet left undetected and unchallenged.
Great article that is now challenging not only the media and its behaviour, but people the world over to stop and consider just what impact any judgement of a person, creed or race has.
The grossest form of corruption is any movement that follows from a separation to the Love we are within. Allowing this corruption to exist unaddressed, magnifies this already gross activity into the war, turmoils, unrest and abuse which we consider to be accepted as normal part of today’s day and age.
“are we not seeing this now with the way our refugees and migrants are portrayed in the media, that they are to blame for all our woes?” It is easier to blame someone else for our own problems than truly taking responsibility for how things are and how we feel and change it ourselves. We can blame refugees, migrants, foreigners etc. but this is not changing the way things are at the moment. The situations that are there in England and Europe at the moment are there because of our choices not because of refugees, migrants and foreigners…
I felt devastated by the vote to leave the EU. It felt surreal and very much being part of history I really feel it is important for us to vote again as so many didn’t really know the impact of voting to leave, some saying they didn’t think there vote counted so had done a protest vote to leave. If any thing it showed our one vote does count and shoes the power of people coming together – imagine if that was used for love and harmony and brotherhood! We are so powerful yet are happy to pretend that we have no power.
The exit from Europe did feel wrong and many people were in a state of shock and disbelief, as though they never thought it could happen. Even people who voted to leave questioned themselves the next day as to why they voted in the way they did – this just shows how easy we can be manipulated if we do not have a sense of humanity and the truth of how we should be living together.
Some of the political supporters to leave the EU were themselves shocked that the referendum passed. When they were interviewed and asked what happens now… they had no idea! We instantly became an ice shelf that had just broken away and is now adrift.
The United states of europe would be a powerful entity, one capable of uniting a world.
‘evil wants the world to be at war.’ this is borne out by the fact that war has been continuing somewhere in the world every day since World War II. War creates hardship, hatred, desire for revenge, all the negative aspects of life that help to keep us in separation. It’s the separation that is so evil when our true nature is to be in harmony, in Brotherhood.
It is sobering indeed to realise that the seeds that sprouted the 2nd World War are still with us today and that unless we stand together and work through our differences, history will repeat itself. There is no time for complacency, our earth garden needs tending.
I too recognise the parallells between the Brexit vote and the rise of the Nazi party. It’s devastating. And more so because I can feel how I have contributed to the energy that meant that a fundamentally democratic and inclusive country has been able to vote in such a divisive and separatist way. It cannot be undone, but I can change the quality of my contribution to humanity and ensure that what I reflect out to my fellow Brothers is equality, love, integrity and deep respect for all.
This is an excellent attitude Lucy, to contribute to humanity and treat all others with equal love. Even when there is separatism in the world we can’t give up and join it, if we do we are lost. If we stay with love, everyone will eventually come back to the love they are innately from.
This is the true role of history – to see, understand and learn from our mistakes, to learn of the inevitable consequences of separatism, of the pitfalls of nationalism, and be ever vigilant never to slip into the stupor and comfort that allows such evil to rise again.
Thank you so much for this piece of truth about the situation we are in together, it not about England or Europe, it is what we tolerate in our whole world close or afar. “To build may have to be the slow and laborious task of years. To destroy can be the thoughtless act of a single day.” Sir Winston Churchill (3) Thank you to be one of the builders by opening eyes for what is truly going on. I assume you have sent this piece to every newspaper you can find so they have a chance to reimprint what and why they are publishing what they publish.
Brilliant expose of the evil that we allow and all too readily repeat over time. Humanity has suffered at the hands of supremacy, hatred and separation repeatedly in history and yet we are are all too willing to apply the same principles of distrust, disunity and division to today that only yesterday ended in war, bloodshed and denied human rights.
When will we wise up and see that a formula for disunity is destructive and against the fibre of true brotherhood and one world-wide family.
Sobering reading Samantha. It is clear when put together we have to be far more discerning about the information we are fed, we must discern why and look to see if there is an alternative agenda. Without this discernment we are all too easily duped.
Life is about relationships, people. There’s so much to learn from each other and so lovely to learn about life and about people. I could feel myself getting nervous reading about the Brexit. As if I don’t want to accept that we have the choice for blaming and hate bigger than responsibility for ourselves and love. I’m from The Netherlands, but feel to talk about we as I’ve allowed, not spoken up before Brexit that I love the people from Great Brittain. All of them, no matter if they are refugees, legal, illegal, black or white or any other colour, religious or not etc. I love them. I might have difficulties accepting some behaviours and expressions, but nevertheless do I have an unconditional love, appreciation and even admiration for every single being living in Great Britain.
To me the vote for Brexit is also offering a deep reflection of how many people do not feel loved, accepted, cared for etc. That we are to take much more care for each other. That if we see somebody’s not happy, we’re to express that we see that and if needed talk about it. Not walk away if nothing’s going on. Because there’s so much going on in people’s lifes. Not only in Great Brittain and the Netherlands, but litterally everywhere. We all crave to be met and accepted.
We walked away from love a long time ago, we said yes to indulgences and ignorance. I would love us to choose now to feel the emptiness Brexit has caused and to feel into what we really want. As a whole. As Great Brittain, but also as people from all over Europe. Do we want union or separation? Do we choose commitment or give up? Are we stubbornly holding on to a ‘no’, that what in fact only a cry out for love and care? What do we do when we have had a fight, even a terrible one? Do we walk away or do we come together and talk about it. In my life, I can definitely share that everything I walked away, the feeling of disconnection and disharmony with both myself and the other one(s) grew. We’ve got a choice, again. Just as the choice to vote for a Brexit, today there’s another choice. For everyone. I am here to express that I would love Great Brittain to be part of the United Stated of Europe. #USoE
People working together are definitely able to do more, grow and expand, experience joy than people working alone. One of the qualities I love about the people from Great Brittain is their proudness of themselves. This has been written of as arrogant and so it has developed itself over centuries, but underneath I feel that there’s an innate proudness that should be adored and learnt from. I’m touched by my own words as I can feel how strong this reflection is and how much I can learn from this. Writing this allows me to grow my own proudness of myself. What are we offering you?
Floris, I am also deeply touched by your words, well said. From someone who has buried their head in the sand in the past and not taken much interest in politics I now have more of an understanding of what is truly going on, and can begin to take more responsibility for my part in our family of humanity. Maybe one day we will have a United States Europe, but not until we begin to love each other, which begins with loving and accepting ourselves.
A great part about this blog for me, is the call it makes to see beyond the home comforts that we all have and to not let complacency for the sake of that comfort lead us in to situations that we have been in before, such as a mass global war, because we were too blinded by all the entrapments of life to want to see what is actually going on.
I remember learning in school about the political and social movements that in the end lead to the out break of war – and then in detail of the atrocities that occurred. It was very clear to me then as it is now, that we need to avoid that eventuality at all costs – and yet here we are will history repeating itself as we continue to walk the same separation that lead us down this path many times before.
“The energy of separatism”, what could be a more simple definition of evil than this. We all come from the same source, we are all connected, love connects us all, any division, possessive tendencies, or defensive aggression is pure evil energy. The growing movements of separation throughout the world is very familiar and ominous, Samantha, and the awareness needs to be raised as you have expressed in this blog. How many times have we looked back and asked if WW2 “How did they let it happen?” And vowed it would never happen again? Until we all recognise that all energies are always flowing through us and there for us to either choose from emptiness or love, the same patterns will continue to be repeated. The education for change has to be about the way energy works in and through us, and it is this truth that The Ageless Wisdom and the teachings of Serge Benhayon bring to us.
“To build may have to be the slow and laborious task of years. To destroy can be the thoughtless act of a single day.” Sir Winston Churchill I love this quote from Churchill it is so true, The truth is we were building a United Europe it may not have been in the time scales of what many wanted, but it was slowly building, yet in one day we have through a thoughtless act changed the foundations that were being laid for a United Europe. In one thoughtless act we are no longer leading the way in showing the world that it was possible to live united together regardless of colour creed or culture or religion.
Thank you Samantha, it is a very important discussion you are opening up for here. You say ‘When we do not claim the love we all naturally are we end up expressing what we are not; allowing the energy of separation and evil to run through us.’ – How is it that the energy of separation can spread so far and so wide, seemingly uncontrolled, when in fact Love can be chosen in an instant.
You have covered so much in your blog Samantha. It was interesting to read about how Hitler came to power and managed to turn Germans against Jews who had previously been living in harmony with each other. The parallels you draw between then and now are very worrying, because already we see the growing trend, spurred on by the media, of targeting certain groups of people as being the reason for our problems. We can all play our part in making sure we don’t continue down this familiar path which unfortunately has occurred time and time again in our world history.
Thank you Samantha for reminding us the devastating consequence of letting the seeds of nationalism take root. in conversation with a young Spanish man in a German city, he put it this way: anti-foreigner and nationalist feelings in the UK post Brexit is not new, its always been there. The only difference is people feel confident to express these views openly and act on them. Another, visiting the UK from Japan said pre-Brexit, post-Brexit it is still the same. it is sometimes better to have racist views out in the open than hidden beneath the surface. At least then we know what we’re dealing with.
The history of World War II and unfortunately recent events have proven that it just takes one belief, one fear that the propaganda can run with, for naturally loving people to allow an energy that is pure evil to take dominion over the masses. We have a lot to examine and learn from with the Brexit vote, about how we are living in daily life that has permitted such an energy to take hold and cause such separation.
This is another incident that shows the hidden agenda of the media, who’s interest is clearly not about the well-being and unity of all but to incite fear, separation, enmity and outright hate, which has lead to war already too many times.
I couldn’t believe the Brexit vote won, but knowing the energetics of it helped me understand what is at play and playing out. This was confirmed when I felt the force and justification with which I heard people defended Brexit, this was very revealing of the energy of separation that is behind it.
“The recipe of propaganda, a false picture of a better life and a cry for change, all mixed together with the stench of nationalism (sound familiar yet?), gave rise to what we now know as the Second World War that resulted in millions of deaths.”
My observation is that this energy is still alive in people today. Our society is still set up to desire the quick fix. Television and media are doing their job to feed this concsiousness. The quick fix or great solutions never leads to true healing not only of illnesses but also of situations we are in and do not want to be in. They do not heal before we are ready to deal with them.
“We need to remember we are far more than our nationality, race, colour or creed, we are all equal, we are in fact universal and any movement away from this is playing with the same evil that created, instigated and orchestrated World War II.” This is a truth that needs to be spread far and wide; one we need to hold in our consciousness and daily awareness.
Brexit didn’t just affect Britain and the rest of Europe. It was felt here in Australia. Maybe because I spent the first 23 yrs of my life in England, or maybe just because we are all connected, I’m not sure, but when I heard the result, I was shocked and I then felt sick in my stomach. It felt like something bad had just happened, and the weeks since have shown the racism that has been bubbling under the surface for many decades. I feel this is just the beginning of much more ugliness as a result of the decision for Britain to leave Europe. It’s a relationship that’s been bad for a long time, and now the break up has taken place and all the ugly pent up words and actions are coming out.
A powerful piece of writing on a topic (s) that need much conversation and deep insights and painful comparisons which you have taken us too. Thank you for writing about this and looking at our history and how we are (again) setting ourselves to repeat. Your love for humanity is deeply felt and appreciated.
Wow Samantha what a powerful blog. You made it very clear that there is so much more at play as our eyes can see. So it is our choice if this energy can play its game. Wether or not but it is our responsibility if the world will live in further separation or in true brotherhood.
Evil can come through any of us if we give ourselves away to believing what we see and read and not trusting what we feel. At the time of the jews being persecuted as Samantha says they were living amongst their fellow citizens and no doubt had many friends and work colleagues of what Hitler would call the ‘pure’ race. But all of this is pure illusion as race does not define us and we are all from the same stuff going to the same place. The more we make this the basis of all life the greater the opportunity there is to eradicate the divisiveness of the hate campaigns we are experiencing in the UK and around the world right now.
Such a powerful blog should most definitely be made available for general publication. I too here in Australia was appalled when the vote was yes to Britain separating from the European Union and appalled again recently to hear Donald Trump advocating hate and separation in America. We also now have people who have just been elected in our own parliament who are advocating similar ideas.
This is one brilliant wake up call for the world Samantha; and I feel that anyone who can possibly ignore what you have so eloquently and lovingly written has probably long separated from themselves and truth. And as I read, this question jumped out: “So what instigates someone to hate someone else based on their differences?”, as it is a question I have asked often. How do we get to a place where we judge our fellow man simply by the colour of his skin, his gender, his country etc, when we are all members of one big family? Peel back our skin and there is no difference; ask us if it is love that we seek and the answer is sure to be yes. Your “voice” has begun this most essential conversation and now it is up to all of us to continue it, if the world is to change anytime soon.
This horrendous war in the world we see happening outside is the reflection of our own internal war within us on a collective and mass scale. As humanity we are at war with not just certain counties or the world, but with ourselves first. For the disquiet inside one person, as in the case of Hitler, can lead to spreading and compounding of the disquiet in a whole load of others equally discontent. To end war, is to learn to self-love, and thanks to modern day philosopher Serge Benhayon, it is what i have been a student of myself these past few years and have seen remarkable changes and so much joy in ditching nationalism, race, class, caste distinction, any ounce of patriotism and instead embracing true unity and universal love. Unified we are stronger because we are one. Separated we are fractious like the splinters of a jagged rock that cuts deep to only draw spilled blood and tears.
Samantha, a superb piece of writing and analysis on the energetic causes of war through separation/separatist ideals fuelled by supremacist or patriotic thinking. All wars or disputes are from this, and it seems with all that’s going on in the world right now, that this isolated way is fast continuing and increasing …is there any country that does not have any level of conflict, rampage, disharmony or division in it?? It seems we are all afraid of each other, and yet deep down and when there is connection between people, there is this joy felt and experienced. We love to feel at-one with another, equal. To separate is what disconnects, and in disconnection come the loss of common sense or decency, and the addition of arrogance where it’s easy to fight or destroy what is meant naturally to be unified. This makes no sense to me.
Thank you Samantha- this is huge and we all know that this is true, evil is there to try to get us off track from living the divine love we are. It is huge what you say, it is so beautiful and so pure. A very special read for all. The whole truth about the past and the present – world war 3.
I live on the other side of the world in Australia and had not even heard of Brexit until it was in the news headlines daily and it left me wondering how something of such huge importance had managed to slip under the wire. It also left me feeling very uneasy – like something was very wrong. After reading your brilliantly written article Samantha I now understand what I was feeling. This is a classic example of history repeating itself by using the separatist mentality of Divide and rule (or divide and conquer, from Latin dīvide et īmpera) in politics and sociology is gaining and maintaining power by breaking up larger concentrations of power into pieces that individually have less power than the one implementing the strategy. When will we ever learn?
Such a powerful piece you have so beautifully and truthfully written here Samantha. Really reflecting for us how much a part of this evil that we are. We separate and divide ourselves from others and even from ourselves when we let the pictures and old ideals and beliefs run us and taking us in judgements and defence. This is a huge wake up call for us all to look at our own lives and how we are not as united as we would like to believe. If there is no true love, what is there?
“As humanity we have so, so much we can learn from one another; we can simply choose to learn and love or we can choose to retreat and hate – it is up to us”. The result of the Brexit campaign is extremely sad and yet another example of how much fear and division is being propagated in the world today. When are we going to learn from history instead of going around and around repeating the same behaviours that continually create fear, blame, hate and division instead of accepting and embracing that we are all one and when indeed it’s so obvious that this created separation and fear cause so much struggle in life. We don’t come into the world filled with hate, we don’t check out the colour of peoples skin or check where they come from before passing judgement on whether they are friend or foe, it is a learnt behaviour we choose to take on or we can choose to say no to. When I travelled I came to realise that although others may appear at first to be very different that in fact underneath our exterior appearance and cultural ways we are all truly the same with the same feelings, the same needs and we all have the equal capacity to and be love.
Thank You Samantha, I agree with all you have expressed. Brexit is not the only threat to the fragile harmony of the world at the moment, as we also have the very Hitler-like Donald Trump on the world stage, who incites degrading and self righteous separatism. As you mentioned about Hitler and his treatment of groups he targeted many alongside the Jews – “Other persecuted groups included communists, homosexuals, gypsies and the mentally and physically disabled.”, we see the same in Trump. The world media has not changed either from the time of Nazi Germany, continually adding to the separateness by insinuating if not outrightly declaring negative bias against refuges, migrants, gays or other groups, and supporting instigators of hatred such as Trump. Nothing has changed, we need to all be aware that the same energies behind our previous world wars has never left, it’s now simmering away ready to unleash it’s true evil on the world again if we do not all take personal responsibility and action.
We don’t have to be in the UK or Europe to feel the devastating effects of separatism (‘them’ and ‘us’) because it is present where ever the rot of feeling different and inferior that ‘them and us’ thinking plays on, plays out within ourselves, our families, our workplaces, schools, communities, local councils and governments.
True Adrienne, whenever there is them and us in our community there is separation which blocks any love from coming through. To those we say annoy us or rub us up the wrong way, if we get to know the person behind the eyes, the soul behind the behavior, we bring much needed love to others and ourselves.
Yep Samantha, you really say it all… the history books are the reminder of what is always there lurking, when we choose separation over brotherhood and take it to the extreme. The Brexit voters exposed the deep rooted racism that still exists in Britain. It’s now for everyone to stand up tall in their own light amidst what has happened, so that eventually, the evil knows nowhere to go, for the welcoming arms of our fellow brothers are so huge and warm by those who stand in this light, the evil is exposed just for what it is.
It is very sad that what has been so long worked for was destroyed like this. Separation is evil and we can feel it in our own bodies when we become very individual – We get sad, dwell on the injustices, compare where we are at with others, go into competition and do all the things that lead to dissatisfaction and unhappiness. When we are a part of humanity and the universe, those thoughts seem small, we care for one another, we feel what is best for all. Separation is our original hurt, why would we ever want to live there?
When we know the truth that we are one people, how much this truth is being lived is how much it will be reflected back in the world.
When there is judgment against people, we set up walls between each other. This is a very unnatural way to live simply because it causes tension within ourselves and this tension is reflected everywhere in the world. When people seemingly from two worlds live with each other, it is an evolutionary opportunity to re-imprint what is natural, that despite all external differences, there is a commonality between people no matter what culture or nation they are from.
Samantha this is a great and important blog, I don’t think Brexit has been covered like this in writing to the extent you have written. What you say is very true the energy of Brexit is exactly the same as that of world war 2 and since the referendum it has been noted immediately after, the rise in hate crime rose dramatically. The stories I saw and read in the news of people’s behaviour, what they were doing and saying shocked me and was very sad to see. Someone I know recently went over to America and speaking with all the Americans (cleaners, hotel and shop staff) they have the impression Britain likes the extreme right winged parties there because of Brexit!!!! You are so right in saying media entices and spreads this energy of separation and lies – evil. Not only that, decisions where being made by people that had been lied to by politicians with no sense of morals or integrity with regards to the NHS and many people that voted didn’t even truly understand what leaving the EU would mean. On some level maybe this needed to happen as the ugliness that has laid dormant for years has not truly been addressed, healed and cleared and it is very much time for this to be done once and for all. You are also right in the fact that it is about people, everyone all races, religions, genders …. Ultimately we are the same and more importantly all One.
Happenings like this are confronting us with the false sense of harmony we live in. When we open our eyes we see seperation everywhere. It is friendships, between us and our neighbours, between cities, between states, between countries, it is everywhere. And it is all a testament of the seperation from love we chose. And it is just another choice to reconnect and see everyone with an open heart, discover who they are and what is going on for them.
It is incredible to see what the separation from love brings. It shows we are not choosing to go for it, by instead settle for the lesser way of living in separation.
‘Evil does not want to see Britain united, evil does not want Europe united; evil wants the world to be at war.’ How very true this is and how Brexit could easily be a turning point if we do not take responsibility to build stronger connections, make greater friends and see past borders, nationality and religion.
This is a very informative and well written piece. As a black woman I have been used to being treated differently, but what surprises me is that in the field that I work in we often read reports of people who have behaved in a racist or an abusive manner, but only twice in eight years have I had that directed at me. I feel that this is because of the way that I am with people. Regardless of what a person’s behaviour has been, my approach to life is to treat everyone with love. respect and understanding and this make a HUGE difference to others.
Wise words from Sir Winston Churchill. It was indeed a sad day the morning of the 26th July 16. History has shown us time and time again that separation does, and never will work.
The power of the media needs to be questioned – at least in democratic nations. We seem to have two extremes operating in the world in this regard: places where any sort of reportage can land you a death sentence at worst or jail sentence at best, and places where the media has free reign, is all about profit-share and has no hesitation manipulating truth and pulling strings. We do not seem to have achieved balance let alone a true responsibility in this domain and it seems little has changed since Hitler came to power.
It’s no coincidence, just when we were saying the world is getting smaller because we can connect, have access to world news, stand against world issues via social media all from our homes. Something comes along to instils mistrust, blame and division. It feels like a turning point has been reached.
Samantha, your love for humanity clearly shows in this blog with: “We need to be able to look in another’s eyes and not see them as a label such as migrant / refugee / foreigner, we need to look in their eyes and understand that we are family.” We all need to do this and share with humanity the love we see in others. In our community people are aligning to the hate that is being trumped up instead of getting to know their family.
“What kinds of decisions are made when they are being made on the basis of disrespect of another?” – this is a great question Samantha. We know we are heading in an erroneous and damaging direction when our choices and decisions are fuelled by a separation to Love. Yes this energy of separation has been present and allowed to work through us for years as it still is today, the same evil energy running through different bodies. Evil cannot move through a body that has surrendered to Love.
When we disengage from who we are, from the Love we are within, we are open to be moved in a way that is in separation to Love, and so in separation to all that we are connected to through Love. From here we are then open to receive and indulge in our hurts, pain, ideals and beliefs that have us move and behave in loveless ways not only for ourselves but with all others. In this state of emptiness we are driven to seek self-gratification at any cost, be it blaming of others for the unease of emptiness we feel or discriminating against others to assume a stance of supremacy through control, yet always the cost is forsaking the harmony of living in Brotherhood, through instead condemning our fellow brothers and sisters. Through separation to Love we allow evil to work through us as we no longer are moved by the Love in our hearts but instead moved by the thoughts from our minds which is driven by an energy that is absent of Love, and so we lose the sight of the what is true, as we no longer feel our loving connection to ourselves or each other.
It is very sad indeed to witness people allowing this separation being whipped up by the media to vote from fear instead of love. When the majority of people fall for this irresponsibility it is a bastardisation of the democratic process.
What you share here Samantha is compelling in that it is undeniable that as a human race we are governed by the force that champions difference and promotes one religion, political belief, colour etc. over another. We are choosing evil and this path is one of destruction from which Churchill’s words are realised. ‘“To build may have to be the slow and laborious task of years. To destroy can be the thoughtless act of a single day.” Our choice is stark and I am inspired and compelled to make love more and more my way.
Thank you for alerting us to this Samantha, there is definitely similar atmosphere of intolerance, resentment, and blaming minorities for the rot instead of addressing the corruption within.
Samantha, I was close to tears reading your heartfelt expression about separation from the love we are and how this impacts on such a grand scale. Your love of humanity is palpable and your arms are held wide open to embrace all equally. Truly beautiful.
Samantha, what you have written here is very powerful and very sobering. “Throughout history we have seen how nationalism and patriotism have been used to ignite and fuel war. We need to remember we are far more than our nationality, race, colour or creed, we are all equal, we are in fact universal and any movement away from this is playing with the same evil that created, instigated and orchestrated World War II.” A stark reminder for us all of what potentially can happen when we make life all about self.
This is s great piece of expressing Samantha, it is frightening where we are in the UK and the world, Serge Benhayon has supported me to understand what drives this. That prediction of Winston Churchill is spooky in its accuracy. A single vote.
An amazing and powerful blog Samantha. Although it seems Brexit happened in a day and possibly over the period of the campaign it is super important to realise that the energy behind it had be festering and growing under the surface for some time before finding an opportunity to do such harm.
Brexit really has exposed the extent of nationalism and racism still prescribed to in the UK. It is a bitter pill to swallow but one we must in order to now rebuild our relationships within the UK and on a global scale, on a true footing – “We need to be able to look in another’s eyes and not see them as a label such as migrant / refugee / foreigner, we need to look in their eyes and understand that we are family. True brotherhood is universal, it is not about blood or nationality”
Brilliantly written and researched Samantha bringing the truth that we are in a position of repeating yet again the mistakes of the past being driven by evil having access through those that are choosing to disconnect to their essence and the love they truly are.
One of the comments you made in this blog had me pondering – you speak of travelling to connect with others and I can feel the open heart with which you travelled and the curiosity to meet your brothers. That is what lies at the core of travel (and life). With that approach to life we would never want to cause separation between us and another.
Hear, hear Samantha, it is voices like yours that were ignored which eventually lead us into World War II, ignoring the forerunners and the signs, pushing them aside thinking they were nothing. Not wanting to face evil allows evil to rule us, it is when we claim our power to love and unite then evil has no chance to gain the upper hand.
What a fantastic article Samantha. There is one race on Earth and than is the human race. We are all member of the same race. When we focus on our differences it causes separation. We are the same and it is only the scenery that is different.
A very enlightening account of the state humanity has created. Why is it we can’t address what is clearly before us when it comes to the care, consideration and love for another whether we know them or not? No imaginary line, religion or nationality separate that we are all made of the same. We are all human beings with pulsing hearts and connected to far greater possibilities than personal prejudices and fears. How many times will we go around dividing and separating our own small kingdoms for our own reasons before we implode in on ourselves?
About to implode with the Con/ Selfservatatives ! Ultra right wing massaging their ego’s! Stretching their’Dogs of War’ in an attempt to high jack the country ( or as their knuckle dragging followers would say! Country! ) into Disaster Capitalism for the sake of themselves! Not in the interests of Britain, for they know the reality, but purely to gain more capital to hide away in an Offshore Tax Haven!
While the UK is being raped for what it’s worth ! More money into the Government ? More money no longer available to support Councils ? More money not available to the NHS? Garden vanity Project lost 40 million yet nobody held to account ? It all gets lost with Brexit! Along with the Criminal cheating of Leave !
I think you will gather I am more than Angry that I have lost my rights ! My mother was a Polish Radio Operator, one day ahead of each Battle in WW2 with a medal to prove she made a huge contribution but the Conservative Party are all making that a waste of effort, leading the UK to a most dismal future!
One of the things that I found very interesting was how the person who was leading the campaign for Brexit left pretty much immediately after the vote. The disruption was successful, ‘now I wash my hands of it’. But what you share here Samantha takes this to another level and tied in fairly recent history to say we have an opportunity here we be truly united as a whole or separate and know the consequences. History is clear on these.
Great blog Samantha and yes lets learn from history and choose to express love in the end this is all we want and love and connection are the things that are going to solve our issues – not separation, doing it alone and judgment.
Amazing and very humbling to read what you share Samantha. This highlights how the “past” is not really the past if we have not truly changed the energy of our behaviours as their intent will resurface in other ways and continue to until it is truly addressed and healed. The energy behind Brexit had been building for many many years and Brexit gave an opportunity to see the true reality of what has been at play for a long time just on a subtle level.
Joshua absolutely not only do we see the true reality, something many people have remorse over after the occasion, but the fact that past and future are together in the present. We’ve not left anything behind in this regard.
Brilliant – I deeply appreciate you writing on this topic Samantha, for a few weeks have passed now since the referendum, and at least where I live, its meaning and consequences have disappeared from the news, to be replaced by new intrigues and sport. The vote was hugely significant and continues to be, not just for Eurpoe but the whole of the world. I also wonder, did the vote split and separate us or did it just confirm a division that was already there? Isn’t this the part we don’t like to see, the aspect that comes before revolution, propaganda or fear, the fact that any moment we live without feeling our unity as one family, we are effectively voting for disharmony.
After the Brexit what really stood out was how racist the UK is, its as if there has been an under current for many years and now it is ok to voice our disapproval of ‘the foreigners’, but it is not ok. Here we are with Germany as a prime example of what can happen if we allow this energy to take a hold of us and we would be naive to think that it could never happen to us, or any country for that matter. Have we learnt nothing from the second world war.
I too have been fortunate to have traveled the world from an early age, exposing me to the multitude of different people, places, life styles, cultures and religions – I have always felt welcome and see these things not as bad differences, but as beautiful ways to learn about one another. The world doesn’t need 7 billion robots – it needs 7 billion people living side by side in harmony together, seeing past the irrelevant difference of the physicality of life to the far more important things that connect us all – the fact we are all human, we all have hearts, in those hearts is the greatest capacity for love. When every person can experience suffering we should unite in saying that it will not be an experience we will create for another through our actions, for it is only when we create an us and them mind set that we feel able and morally sound in our abuse and mistreatment of anything that is ‘other’. We cannot sit blind and watch while the world is being stirred into another world war by a media fuelled fire. In every country there is evidence of the cracks of separation beginning to show, and though those cracks pours the potential behaviours and actions we would never say would be possibly, and yet using history as our witness, nothing is impossible when we stay silent and on the side lines to abuse. In America, the gun violence and tensions between skins colours is mounting every day, and the election that is shocking the world over as people continue to vote in favour of walls and separation. In England, the vote to leave the EU is inciting more terror and hate speech than ever before, in France the Burkini has been banned from the beach, with women being asked to remove their coving clothing as it is against the law. In Syria the air strikes continue to decimate the country and more and more people flee the unrest in the east. The tensions between the big powers of China, America and Russia is mounting with the whispers of war in the air. The world seems to me to be in melt down and no one seems to want to admit it or take action to prevent obvious trajectory we are heading down. Will this be another part of history studied in 100 years time, a marker looked back on to say never again and to analyse how it all went wrong? Or will we wake up and call a halt now, recognise that we are several steps down the path we all swore we would never walk down again after the devastation of WW2.
If history is around for any reason it is there to identify our past behaviours so we may have the clear opportunity to not make them again. Will we change course this turn round?
What will it take to change our global patterns of conflict? Everyone knows war does not work!
It is time to take personal responsibility for what is happening in our world. Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine has presented a way of living that has transformed my life. This way of living has changed many lives and it can change our world.
I remember how emotional many people were on the morning after the BREXIT vote. Even those who voted to leave Europe were shocked. It was indeed a significant moment in our history and the repercussions of the choices are still unfolding. We do need to dig deeper to understand the vital question you pose Samantha – ‘So what instigates someone to hate someone else based on their differences?’ Your explanation about the energy behind such acts of separation makes a lot of sense.
A chilling statement Samantha, which is felt right down to the very marrow of the bones. The level of discontent in the world and the majority of humanity wanting the easy way out of blaming others in different countries or in having an axe to grind in labelling people as refugees is a very muddy step, far away from brotherhood and towards world war.
“Evil does not want to see Britain united, evil does not want Europe united; evil wants the world to be at war”.
A poignant comment you use here by Sir Winston Churchill which stands as true today as it did in 1946.
“To build may have to be the slow and laborious task of years. To destroy can be the thoughtless act of a single day.” Sir Winston Churchill (3)
“As humanity we have so, so much we can learn from one another; we can quite simply choose to learn and love or we can choose to retreat and hate – it is up to us.” So very true and it starts with every relationship, we can either pick on what we don’t like or cherish, honour and support what the other is and brings. The first is that os separation and hate the latter allows us all to benefit and grow.
History repeating itself, with the same rhetoric used to justify isolation, separation and a lack of personal responsibility for what we experience
48 million deaths. We cannot repeat this. But we do not seem to learn.
The statistics ring home to the level of harm we have continued to say yes to with 48 million deaths. But is it possible that the current world population of 7.4 billion is at near death with the levels of harm we still accept and turn a blind eye to everyday?
“When we do not claim the love we all naturally are we end up expressing what we are not; allowing the energy of separation and evil to run through us” – this is so powerful and so true. It’s actually quite shocking to realise that not having an intent to be love is enough to cause harm, but it is true – we are making ourselves empty so that any energy can grab us.
We champion nationalism, yet over the ages it has brought so much division and separation and is a far cry from brotherhood, which has no borders and is built on love.
Samantha, you have cut to the chase and given the most honest history lesson and shown how we are currently in a repeat where evil reigns over love. WWII is present with us if we do not learn from our past, we cannot truly move forward and evolve. Very powerful Samantha, it’s people like you that need to be in politics and bring back the integrity and human factor.
Where once we only knew Oneness and God, we now only know separation and war. Even in our homes we erect walls between us and those we love as if these invisible barriers were somehow confirmation that we made the right choice to walk away from love, when deep down we all know it was not and it is this separation that is the source of all our pain.
This is absolutely brilliant and so well expressed Samantha, up until reading this I had not connected the dots as to what is happening currently in the UK with the atrocities of our past.
This is a brilliant analysis of the evil at play in the world both past and present and really alerts us to the fact that we are not going anywhere in the sense of true evolution but rather going around and around the same old ground playing out the same old fears, anger, hatred and bigotry that keep us all so divided from each other. Evil is simply the absence of love and since we are all love in our essence, evil is all that seeks to keep us from connecting to and expressing from this essence; the Oneness we all naturally are when not imposed upon and manipulated by an outer force. Before there can be war, there must first be separation. The seed of which is sown deep within us that then plays out as ‘me versus you’, ‘us versus them’ when really the truth is, we are at war within ourselves for we separated from love and in the pain of this set about creating walls, borders and structures to house and protect us, never for a moment considering that such barriers offer no true comfort or safety but only a dark and cold imprisonment for not only do we lock ourselves in, we lock everyone else out as well.
Samantha thank you for your powerful insight into what is actually at play here. It felt truly shocking when I heard the news about Brexit, and the racial hatred that underpinned the decision. We do not solve problems by running away and excluding people. In my experience, meeting people from other cultures and nationalities confirms our similarities rather than our differences. A smile is universal, as is the tenderness in which a baby is held, joy and sorrow. It is worth breaking down the barriers and learning to get along with each other.
A very powerful piece Samantha – really brilliant. It’s the sitting back and watching evil at play that is even more insidious than the act itself which is what has happened throughout history. What happened in Brexit didn’t happen overnight. People have been feeling and bottling up their unease for decades and this gave many licence to unleash it. But it’s like being in a relationship, if you let everything bottle up and don’t deal with it, one day you’ll just explode…that’s what Brexit feels like. It’s the explosion from the decades of sitting back and being complacent.
a great blog drawing many great references to the similarities between Brexit and WW2.. its as if the world wide conflict was never resolved but the fighting stopped. And these wise words by Winston Churchill “To build may have to be the slow and laborious task of years. To destroy can be the thoughtless act of a single day.” – how true I know when I’ve had a bad moment it can escalate very quickly and it becomes a desire to keep getting more destructive so as to not feel the damage that was done in the initial separation.
Moving to London has provided me with many situations whereby I get to meet people from all over the world. And really, when we stop focusing on where on the same planet (if but from a different position but never the less still from the same planet) and connect to the person, we are not different at all. This is something that really stood out for me over the years of wanting to try ‘exciting’ recipes and different dishes that came from places far far away, but once I read the ingredients I found that fantasy of a certain part of the world being better wore off instantly. Because it was all the same stuff over and over again with a different name or ingredients that I had around and available to me (mostly). People are no different, no matter where we are from we all experience the same things in life, and being open to that side of the same aspects of life expands our understanding rather than cutting ourselves off, getting into a mess then realising we can’t go solo on this planet.
I sat and read very word of this brilliant article and allowed myself to feel exactly what you are talking about here Samantha, which is that the energy of separation that ruled Hitler is the same energy behind Brexit. Whilst I do not live in Britain I too cried on hearing the news because I felt the implications of it for the whole world. We cannot embrace separation; we have to see it for the disease that it is and the evil that is allowed under its banner. As you say, Samantha, we are all equal and the sooner we realize this and accept this the better.
And to top it all off, we now have a presidential candidate in the United States who wants to build a wall to ward off those who are unwanted in ‘God’s own country’ and aligns with nationalists and supremacist views.
Said the Trump of a very dubious history and background !
“To build may have to be the slow and laborious task of years. To destroy can be the thoughtless act of a single day.” – the thoughtless act of so many to vote to leave the EU, has brought about a separation which, sadly, the younger generations are now left to deal with over the coming years. A decision which most young people vehemently disagreed with.
It is very similar to the times when Hitler came to power- it is not just in the UK that we are seeing this but on a global level as there is much upheaval in the world currently. Many are still choosing to be blind to this and it is this that allows evil to happen.
I love these strong words “Evil does not want to see Britain united, evil does not want Europe united; evil wants the world to be at war.” Only in the true strength of love and truth can words represent the facts of pure evil. Love is an energy. Evil is every. Separation to love is evil. Love is firm and this is what we need before everyone’s hurt gets the better of them and war is charged up through the energy of separation. “We need to be able to look in another’s eyes and not see them as a label such as migrant / refugee / foreigner, we need to look in their eyes and understand that we are family.” Family I know is another brother, another person living here on earth. We are more than what we mostly see and read from each other. I know its my responsibility to not react when I feel another totally irresponsible and in separation caught by an ideal and run by their hurt. Its time to shape up and deal with our hurt or we will be forced to deal with war. We already experience this with each other on a micro-scale and the more this breeds we will see it on a macro-scale like Brexit.
Wow Samantha, it is quite revealing that we seem to be recreating the same energetic pattern that led to World War II. I am absolutely horrified by the state of the world at this time. In fact of all the wars and atrocities I have seen in the news I was most alarmed and distressed seeing that women in burquinis were being harassed by police on a beach in Nice and forced to remove their clothing. This may not seem like much with beheadings etc going on, however, to me it shows that the world has gone completely mad. The only good thing about all of this horror is the fact that none of us can keep pretending that everything is fine.
“As humanity we have so, so much we can learn from one another; we can quite simply choose to learn and love or we can choose to retreat and hate – it is up to us.” We are seperate from the so many created pillars in life and society – politics, nationalism, to religion, and classes of education, there is many. Working together and learning from each other has never before made so much sense. It is love. Do we have love for ourselves or do we allow a seedy separated ideal to be our direction? It is hate because in truth there is love or there is not. “When we do not claim the love we all naturally are we end up expressing what we are not; allowing the energy of separation and evil to run through us.”
What a deeply moving and powerful article Samantha. The historical parallels you have drawn upon are exposing the real down-side and danger in patriotism and nationalism and how easily hatred can be incited amongst people.
“Throughout history we have seen how nationalism and patriotism have been used to ignite and fuel war. We need to remember we are far more than our nationality, race, colour or creed, we are all equal, we are in fact universal and any movement away from this is playing with the same evil that created, instigated and orchestrated World War II”.
Samantha, what you have shared here is a big eye opener for me and there is much for all of us to ponder on. I am asking myself what I am contributing to this separation in my thoughts, words and actions. After all that is all energy and feeds the bigger picture.
This article is very powerful…have you considered Samantha of putting it forward to other publications?
‘We must not forget that the energy of separation led to the Second World War. We cannot afford to be complacent to the fact that Hitler rose to power through ‘democracy’.’ This is a powerful reminder Samantha and you offer us much to ponder on through the UK’s way to Brexit. Separation can never be true and the media’s avocation for it has to be accountable for so much. Equally is our greedy appetite for sensationalism and our ability to gobble up news stories, without question, so that propaganda and the magnified issues that do not serve the whole easily sway us.
‘As humanity we have so, so much we can learn from one another; we can quite simply choose to learn and love or we can choose to retreat and hate – it is up to us.’ What you have written here, Samantha is a powerful set of words that we need to heed – Brexit has affected the world on a much larger scale than the individual voters had any concept of, and the media has played a big part in all of this. We have much to learn about living in brotherhood and it will only happen if we work together.
This is one scary parallel you’ve drawn here for us Samantha – and one to take very seriously indeed. From seemingly benign beginnings evil can flourish, particularly when no one is reading the situation and acting upon what they see. Let’s not dull ourselves down to the extent we’re unable to act let alone see ever again.
A powerful point share Victoria! Could it be possible that the dulling of ourselves has lead to this decision in the first place? So many who have voted have now realised the ramifications that have us all wondering whether we have not moved far from the behaviours of our historical past.
Samantha you have presented the truth about the energy behind Brexit with simplicity and clarity. The evil energy you describe is at play everywhere and we can clearly see this if we choose to or we can choose to ignore what is at play, ignore history, ignore what we know and turn away from taking responsibility.
So things get tough and often we choose to push others way, blame them or look for a scapegoat, this happens on the micro and it happen in the macro sphere of life. In our everyday life we do it and this escalates. What is being seen in the politics, the media and with social unease and violence reflects what is happening on our streets and in our homes. Change needs to come from us, every day people knowing that we are responsibility for what is reflected back to us in life. We get choose how we are with people, we get to choose whether we point the finger or take a good look in the mirror.
I felt shock in the aftermath of the choice to vote out of the EU. I live in the UK and voted to stay in. The EU is not perfect but it is a starting point for unity and a unity and way of being that does not only encompass the EU. As you say we are universal, these boundaries, lines an separation are a creation and we can choose to honour the fact we are truly one family or choose otherwise. I can feel in my bones our commonality, our connection our equality are our true way of being. This is where I live from and have begun to honour more in my daily life. This is what we can all choose if we want to see the threat of separation and war be reduced and true unity, fairness, cooperation and equality be in how we live, it does not come from closing people out and allowing ourselves to be fed by profiteers and war mongerers.
A brilliant article Samantha, it would be great to have this published in all the major papers, there is so much for us to learn from this. It is true there are so many similarities between World War II and Brexit, the separation, the nationalism, and the picking on the minorities (in this case the refugees and the migrants) as being the cause of our problems. It is so far from the truth all the migrants and refugees I have met have been extremely hard working and are the back bone of our economy. The media love to feed off the separation they generate, and this was witnessed during World War II and Brexit, and in our comfort we woke up too late to the reality of the lies they had been feeding us.
Our manmade national boundaries are often the result of wars and have fostered so much separation down the centuries, now with our ever increasing accessibility to travel the world it doesn’t make sense to barricade ourselves into our own little enclaves and shut everyone else out. Seeing past our superficial differences and working together for the benefit of humanity has to be the way forward but that will only happen when we come together to defeat the evilness of separation and the belief that we are protecting ourselves by shutting others out.
A very touching blog Samantha which brings to light the true devastating effects that separation causes, both on a grand and personal scale.
‘True brotherhood is universal, it is not about blood or nationality; we are all one family and the fact we don’t acknowledge this is a big reason for why we currently find the world in such a mess.’ So true Samantha and in not acknowledging it we allow in the evil of separation and the parallels you draw between Brexit and the lead up to WW2 are very apt. How a small group can hijack a situation for their own ends because the majority stay silent in the face of a relentless barrage of propaganda.
Since the shock of June 24th I feel like I have been in waiting mode, not wanting to feel the enormity that our collective decision or inaction has imposed, and felt powerless to change the result (other than signing petitions) but reading this feels like a wake up call that we all have a responsibility to move forward and build greater unity and not cement the separation that the Brexit campaign fought for with no plan of what would happen if they won – game playing at its most evil which needs to be exposed and healed.
Your blog should be read by all, so we can ponder and look at what is truly going on today. Ignoring the fact that history is repeating itself is completely irresponsible and is currently leading us to another catastrophe.
Samantha a stunning blog and one close to my heart, what you share here is not the simple Brexit discussion but the real facts behind how similar this is to the start of World War 11. If we, as a species, really did have common sense we would learn from our past mistakes. Yet there are those that are wise that had perhaps foreseen the irrational way a country can behave when gripped by evil. I love this quote that sums it up “To build may have to be the slow and laborious task of years. To destroy can be the thoughtless act of a single day.” Sir Winston Churchill” Sad, but very true.
Thank you for writing this blog Samantha, as it makes clear that it is all about energy, in this case the energy of separation, that is among humanity for aeons and although we think we live in peace and unity after World War II, that same energy is still around us and is finding ways to destabilise, what people like Winston Churchill have worded in public and stood for and that what we have collectively build after being confronted with the devastations World War II has left us with.
A profound expose of what is going on in the UK currently. The media has its own agenda, stirring up racism and disregards the truth.
“.. is the energy of the Brexit campaign more sinister than meets the eye?” A question that most definitely with only one answer clearly outlined in this article.
Thank you Samantha for being willing to discuss this topic so openly. I too have travelled a lot and connected with many people from all over the world with many different cultures, religions, nationalities, ages etc and this convinced me beyond a doubt that there is far more that we all have in common as human beings than we claim we have as differences. Ultimately we all want to love and be loved and this is the common thread that unites us all and makes us as you say one human family.
Travelling allows us to experience a broader expression of how others live and how remarkably we rally cultures and differences when within these all are people who are craving a connection and feeling of family and brotherhood. What is interesting to note here is how the ideas and beliefs of brotherhood is what often holds the barriers between nations through religion, borders and politics.
Brilliant exposure drawing on the parallels of World War 2 and Brexit which can be seen very clearly when presented as this blog does. It is shocking and concerning to feel the potential impact of a choice made on the June 24, 2016 and spooky the way this could be confirming what Winston Churchill expressed a few decades ago. “To build may have to be the slow and laborious task of years. To destroy can be the thoughtless act of a single day.” Sir Winston Churchill (3) are we willing to wake up to the energy we are choosing in every moment? Thank you Samantha for keeping talking about what is going on.
Samantha this blog deserves to be on the front page of every national newspaper this weekend and every local one also . Bringing truth and the understanding of true evil simply and clearly exposed in front of our eyes. What a powerful reading this makes.
This is very clear and succinctly put, Samantha – any movement away from being universal is evil. I too cried when the referendum results were announced, and have since been reminded that every single one of us is responsible for Europe not being the United States that Churchill envisioned. Brexit was as clear a reflection of where humanity is at as we could possibly have, which goes to show that we have a lot to be and do in order to remind each other that we in essence all come from the same love.
Those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it. The cycle of separation needs to be broken once and for all! Where is the love in Brexit? there is none. As you have pointed out Samantha, the evil in the propaganda machine worked this time at the despondency of all of us.
That is a great point Steve; it is only because we are disconnected to and uncaring of ourselves that we start to believe this evil is true. To see others as different, or lesser has its root in the separation within ourselves.
Thank you Samantha for this very powerful writing that is so much needed to be heard for everyone to understand what is happening in the world currently as we know it and the comparisons with all that has happened and the evil at play. Your love of people and the oneness of us all is so beautiful to feel and brings the truth and power to abolish all fighting wars and separatism in the world which is all one and the sooner we get behind this and accept this the better, as we are on our way to another world war as you bring an understanding of so clearly.
For me what Brexit showed was what has been hidden from most of humanity because we have been burying our heads in comfort or sand and remained silent about what we all see everyday in our own lives. How does war start? By people not taking action and standing for truth, all of us are responsible and until we take that as a given and start changing our own lives by calling out evil and separative ideals and beliefs then nothing will change.
What happened in Britain is happening everywhere and it’s not hard to find in our own backyard with the treatment of refugees as just one example. While anyone is not treated as an equal brother we all have work to do.
The evil of separation is apparent in many corners of the world and the extremist activities, actions, ideals and beliefs of the few creating distrust and further separation from people who are perceived to share the same religion or ideals. We all have a responsibility to be aware of this growing unrest but to also live in harmony with all our neighbours and fellow human beings to show that there is another way.
The evil that was shared by Samantha with the example of the Hitler Regime is now making its subtle and harmful lead into what we call cyber bullying. The levels of harm that are posted on line of those that we do know is no different to those we have never had the opportunity to build relationships with. Each comment that is not made in brotherhood leads to separation and faction groups that brings the repeat behaviours of our past.
This is a very powerful expose of the energetic machinations behind the decision to Brexit, and a huge wake up call that while Brexit may be inevitable we have a responsibility to keep building bridges not borders. To challenge separation at every turn, and heed the wisdom of Sir Winston Churchill all those years ago who was speaking from the understanding gained at the end of of WW2 and the cost of 40+ million lives. These are big times, and we all have a responsibility.
Super writing Samantha, we cover so much and there are for sure so many comparisons we can make with naziism and hitler. We do after all have a strong history of repeating our actions in different guises, change the flavour but the result is the same. We need to keep talking about these things and keep sharing our stories of meeting others from different places, to show that we are actually one big family, and that those from different countries are just like you and I, whomever you and I happen to be.
I agree there is a big repetition of events, just the clothes and look has changed, but same old stories arise, blame, lack of responsibility and separation. What have any of us truly learnt from history. Yes, lets talk, open our hearts and get out there in life. so we and all can feel another way.
An awesome blog to read Samantha, thank you! If ‘Everything is Energy’, and then ‘Everything is because of Energy’ (Serge Benhayon), it makes one also consider Newton’s 3rd law of physics who stated that, ‘For every action, there’s an equal and opposite reaction…’ which, confirms your sharing that the opposing force to love and union, is evil and separation. Just goes to show how inextricably interconnected science is, in our everyday living.
Well pointed out Johanna, for everyone one movement in one direction there is another in the other direction. It is up to us which movement we will align to which then will swing one way or the other, the effects of that choice won’t be long in coming …
Truly frightening and very real parallels you draw here between the start of WWII and Brexit – both fuelled by nationalism and the ill belief that we are better off without a group of people it suits us to demonise.
Frightening indeed, and the propaganda that occurs well before the actions take place is so insidious and so underhand before it becomes really blatant.
This is a powerful and moving blog Samantha as it highlights the devastating meaning of this exit from a united Europe. You are spot on when you state. . . ” True brotherhood is universal, it is not about blood or nationality; we are all one family and the fact we don’t acknowledge this is a big reason for why we currently find the world in such a mess.” I also loved this quote . . . “To build may have to be the slow and laborious task of years. To destroy can be the thoughtless act of a single day.” from Sir Winston Churchill . The media has been feeding and manipulating this “thoughtless act” for a long time though. Separation is the name of the game when it comes dividing and conquering in the quest for personal gain, self interest and big business.
I love these comments too Kathleen and can feel the dedication and commitment Samantha has to humanity. Her writing is truly inspiring and calls on us all to understand the part we can play in ‘stopping the rot’ of our own demise.
“On the morning of the 24th July 2016, once the results of the referendum were known, I cried… in fact I cried for hours; I could feel in my body the devastation that such a decision would cause, the stench of separation it stood for and the evil that had been used in the media to sway people.” I can so relate to what you have written here, Samantha. I felt so shocked and upset when I heard the decision, yes for Brexit, I also could see the ramifications for the possible future that could now be the case. It has been very disturbing lately to feel and see the separatism that has been building in the world over the past few years, and especially recently. Although not living in the UK, but in Australia, I could see how it could so easily affect the rest of the world and feed the evil that has been building through a number of increasingly powerful people. The media has much to answer for in its support for the increased emotionalism and racism which led to the Brexit decision.
This evil is on our doorstep on a global scale. It is more than foolish to ignore the facts of this current world situation and not heed the past.
Thank you Samantha, for what you have written clearly spells out what we can look forward to if we don’t all take heed.
