Last year I met an old friend who I hadn’t seen for nearly 15 years. He recognised me but I knew he couldn’t remember my name, so I said, “You don’t remember me do you?” to which he shook his head, so I told him my name. He literally stood there for about 3-4 seconds with his mouth open and eyes wide in disbelief and just blurted out “You’ve gone back in time.”
We started to talk about how I had chosen to refine my diet; over the last few years I had cut out dairy, gluten, alcohol, sugar and caffeine. This dietary change has had such a profound and positive effect on me and my overall well-being; it had also helped me lose a lot of extra weight I had been carrying. But his only response to everything that I shared with him was “What, you don’t drink any alcohol at all?”
I found it strange that his only response was about the alcohol so I presented to him the possibility that what we eat has a direct influence on how we look and that certain foods and drink can age us prematurely.
Using the analogy of looking at our body as a car, what happens to a car if we:
- Don’t always put the right fuel in?
- Drive it too fast?
- Don’t protect it from rusting?
- Don’t keep it clean and tidy?
What happens is that the car starts to look shabby, neglected and old beyond its years.
Is it possible then, if we don’t lovingly take care of our bodies and really look at what fuel we put into it, that our bodies will go through the same process?
I feel that by putting the wrong fuel into our bodies it starts to rust from the inside. We start to look a lot older than we actually are and then things start to break down.
For instance, I used to have a constant supply of tablets for heartburn and indigestion because I was drinking too much coffee and alcohol combined with eating lots of fatty fried food and enormous amounts of sugar in the form of cakes, biscuits, chocolate, sweets and fizzy drinks. I would also feel bloated from eating foods with gluten, like bread or pasta.
Because of what I was eating I always felt lethargic; I just couldn’t be bothered to do anything except watch TV, which just compounded the issue. My thoughts were very foggy and only seemed to be about food and watching TV/DVD’s. My skin was red and blotchy and I quite often came out in spots. My bones seemed to creak when I had to get up and I was always catching a cold or having a complaint with my chest; at one point in my life I had a stint of several ear infections.
Since 2007, when I started to attend the presentations by Universal Medicine and Serge Benhayon, I have gained a better understanding about the effects certain foods and drinks have on our bodies. I could then start to make choices that truly nurtured and supported my body.
With the changes I have made to what I eat and drink I no longer need any tablets for heartburn or indigestion, I don’t feel bloated and my energy levels have increased. My thoughts have a lot more clarity and are not just focussed on me. My skin is very clear and I haven’t had a cold or a chest complaint for years.
Looking at some old photos of myself, I now look about 10 years younger and what is more important is that I FEEL younger. The choices I have made have had a profound effect on my life and I know I will never go back to my old ways.
So, in answer to the question,
Is Time Travel Possible?
No.
But is it possible to appear to slow down the ageing process by choosing to fuel and run our bodies in a loving manner, so we will look healthier and have more vitality? YES!
It just makes sense that if something we put into our bodies can prematurely age us, then we can reverse that by not putting it into our bodies, something which I have experienced, all without a time capsule in sight!!
Inspired by the work of Universal Medicine, Serge Benhayon and his continued love, commitment and dedication to humanity.

“The choices I have made have had a profound effect on my life” Beautiful reflection on the power of choices.
Our body is very grateful… it instantly responds to love and regenerates astoundingly when we let go everything that is not
I met a colleague recently that I hadn’t seen for a year and they had become bloated around their face and their whole body felt lethargic. when we eat and drink the foods that do not support our bodies surely the effects of this builds up in our bodies and is it possible that this adds to the possibility of getting something say like Diabetes because the body cannot cope with the excess that builds up from what we consume that the body cannot excrete fast enough hence the bloating as a sign that the body is in distressed.
Another living example of how simply listening to our bodies works miracles that are irrefutable.
Tim I spent a long time looking at the ‘after’ photo of you and yet would still have a hard time picking your age. You have a very youthful feel about you, you genuinely do. You also have a lightness about you that is not just about the weight that you have lost. And similarly in the ‘before’ photo the heaviness that is felt is not purely coming from the extra kilos that you’re carrying, it comes from a burdensome quality that you were lugging around. Bravo Tim. Hey and what a different bus driver people get met with, the new version, youthful, enthusiastic and vibrant as opposed to the old version, heavy, energetically weighed down and much more introspective.
Fantastic testament Tim to The Way of the Livingness and Serge Benhayon
What an inspiration you are Tim, showing that true health and vitality are very possible when we choose to love and care for ourselves.
This is a great analogy Tim and one that is well worth remembering; ‘Using the analogy of looking at our body as a car, what happens to a car if we: Don’t always put the right fuel in? Drive it too fast? Don’t protect it from rusting? Don’t keep it clean and tidy? What happens is that the car starts to look shabby, neglected and old beyond its years.’
‘Looking at some old photos of myself, I now look about 10 years younger and what is more important is that I FEEL younger. ‘ This is truly amazing. When I was young I had a theory that when people got older they either addressed their worries and hurts and grew into sweet, kind and lovingly wise old people; or their hurts and bigaotories ate them up so they became bitter and twisted. What’s wonderful is reading how, when we deeply care for ourselves, we show the world what is possible.
Life is all about choices and the most self-loving choice we can make is to care for our body so that it supports us in all that we ask it to do.
This is amazing Tim, what a turnaround of how you were living and caring for yourself, ‘With the changes I have made to what I eat and drink I no longer need any tablets for heartburn or indigestion, I don’t feel bloated and my energy levels have increased. My thoughts have a lot more clarity and are not just focussed on me. My skin is very clear and I haven’t had a cold or a chest complaint for years.’
Whilst time travel is not possible certinly you’ve shown and inspired so many that you can turn back time or that actually you can defy time and live a far more full and incredible life by deeply caring for yourself and the result is a non-surgical, non-botox youth and vitality.
Yes, we have a huge impact on our health and well-being by deeply caring for ourselves.
Stepping backwards in time is like stepping through a doorway into a deepening paradigm of Love and self-caring as we evolve. So a deepening paradigm is like time travel as every, yes every time we enter a door we have a chance to deepen our return to our essences! So much has ‘a profound effect on my life and I know I will never go back to my old ways.’
The ‘manual’ of life we live with is well known but it’s all written on the basis of us living in a unloving way. Change the energy that runs our body and all the rules and ‘home truths’ about what’s normal go out the window.
Ultimately we choose what we look like – if we continue to eat foods and drinks that prematurely age us then of course we will look older then our years. Eat foods to nourish and our skin and eyes will just sparkle.
Same for me at 58. I have more vitality than I did as a healthy and vital 20 year old.
It is such a simple statement that if something can prematurely age us then there could well be things that slow down the ageing process or even reverse previous ill effects and here is an example.
Our body is indeed a vehicle through which its movements are fueled by a source of energy. When we choose a quality of energy which is aligned to the natural order of our bodies, we and our bodies then naturally reflect the vitality and spunk of who we naturally are in essence.
I love coming back to this blog Tim, you show us what is possible when we commit to life and ourselves, totally inspirational!
Commitment to self, and life, is a great choice to make.
I have just turned 40 and wow do I feel more beautiful, more healthy and more sorted then ever and why? because like you Tim I started to make my life simple and block out that which is not love.
Life is glorious – it is our choice to make it so.
I reckon it is all in our perspective, of what we think normal is…I look and feel younger than I did 10 years ago, apart from a few mores lines around my face….but maybe I am normal for my age, but generally people in their 40’s have shifted into midlife, giving upness and so that becomes normal. It may look like I am going back in time, but in truth I am just normal 40 something looking after themselves, more than I used to.
Looking gorgeous Tim, but more than the looks, its the vitality that you have so clearly in the second picture that is the stop moment for me… someone who is re-engaged with life. Beautiful to see.
Vitality is a rarity in our society, it really is, which is a dreadful reflection of where we’re at. Vitality is a very natural state, it is how we all were before we started to mess with our energetic make up. Our pristine energetic state is glorious, it’s vibrant, it’s alive, it’s always in active expansion but we’ve bludgeoned our energetic make up to death, so much so that most of us present as fed up, worn out, fatigued and generally ‘over it’. And we, yes we, have done it to ourselves through our day to day choices. But as Tim has so beautifully demonstrated it is reversible.
Exhaustion stemming from our ill lifestyle choices is indeed endemic in our modern society and yet we keep looking for temporary solutions to keep us going like caffeien and sugar.
So so many students of The Way of The Livingness I see looking younger, more healthier and more glorious each time I see them – its amazing – they are living medicine.
It’s such a vicious cycle when we eat poorly. You feel tired, heavy and your body reacts with things like indigestion. You can’t be bothered exercising, you eat more food and drink more coffee/alcohol to make the unpleasant feelings go away. You don’t know how great you will feel until you stop and try a different diet. I was forced by my body’s reactions to give up gluten many years ago, which I thought I couldn’t live without. I started to lose weight that I hadn’t been able to shift, I felt more energised and back in life instead of existing through it. With this massive change I was more able to listen to my body and other refinements naturally happened which have further supported my health.
And Tim you just look better and better each time I see you, and always with that amazing smile of yours, what a great advert for living life in a certain way.
This is a brilliant testimony to the transformational effect of making different choices to our lives, and being aware of what we’re putting into our bodies and the fuel we’re running it on. One of the biggest choices we can make is to accept ourselves and to let go: let go of our pictures and expectations of how life should be and how we need to be in it, the things we think we need to make us feel okay, including certain types of foods and activities, other people’s responses and reactions to us, etc. Treating our bodies with deep love and care, including noticing what type of fuel we’re running it on, has a ripple effect on our relationship with ourselves, with others, and how we are in the world.
“The choices I have made have had a profound effect on my life and I know I will never go back to my old ways.” – This statement feels like one of the most powerful ones of this great transformative approach that Tim has chosen, because there are so many behaviours that we all can drop into or return to in order to numb or distract ourselves from feeling some hurt or other difficult situation, even when we thought we were past them, but to be able to build a certain level of self-love where you know in your heart you will never return to those self-destructive behaviours is truly remarkable and shows how the concepts taught by Universal Medicine assist in true long-lasting healing, not just a quick fix only to have the issue resurface later.
Epic before and after Tim – quite the model for a way of living that has plainly supported you to take a step back in time. Is it possible… absolutely yes and there is a proven way of living to help which is what Serge and his team have been promoting since 1999.
Thank you Tim Bowyer for it clearly reveals what effect we have on our body by what we consume. Let’s make some healthy choices ! Truly healthy I mean.
Its amazing how quickly we can feel good just by making simple loving choices that support our body, I have seen people’s levels of vitality sky rocket really quickly just by taking away all forms of gluten and diary.
Awesome we have people like you Tim who can inspire us to listen to that inner voice that is forever there just waiting to be heard.
Its not restricted – a few days of living well (or improving our way of living in some way) can always be felt. We get a spring in our step, life feels more positive… so why not keep going, keep developing, keep evolving?
What we think about eating becomes a policy that we believe will work and it is a bit like Russian roulette when we consider that most processed foods are simply not healthy. Then food can become an exhuming passion that keeps us from listening to our body because we are entrapped by a way of eating, which is all about fast food and convenience.
Living in a way so not to eat foods that will dull, case damp and bloat us, is simple to feel, when we are able to listen to our body.
What becomes confusing is that we have sometimes given up food before we are not actually ready to eliminate it from our diet, so we end up with the replacement items. Then it is easy to fall into critique that comes from the judgement about what we see others eating or buying at the super market and this is because we have given this or that up but energetically we are still craving for that food.
So that we have eliminated foods without the discernment of what it felt like in our body.
When we feel the effect of any-things that has been brought to our body and we discern why we feel dulled, hung-over, racy etc. then it becomes quite easy to say no to that energy because we recognise the symptoms, which means we are not easily fooled by false energies and what they put into our body. Thank you Tim, there is so much to explore, and when it comes to being accepting of who we all are, we would never ”go back to my old ways.”
Yes it is definitely possible for vintage cars to look amazing 🙂
The difference in your before and after photos is incredible. I’ve always found it strange that most people know about the harming effects of certain lifestyle choices yet still choose these things and act surprised when someone else makes a different choice.
Great to come back to this blog again today and be supported in some dietary changes that I am in the process of making. Ones that I know make sense but that I have been holding onto for the comfort they bring.
We will all without doubt age, but we all have a huge role to play as part of the ageing process. When I say that I don’t mean in deciding how youthful we look, but in how vital we are so we can live our lives to the fullest.
I love the practicality of this blog and the analogy of how our car will quickly break down if we do not put the right fuel into it. It just goes to show that we take better care of our car than we do our body a lot of the time.
Amazing testimonial in photos and truly the confirmation of a photo is in the feeling of it.
What I love about the esoteric teachings presented by Serge Benhayon is that the way we live is medicine. This means that we have no one to blame when we develop conditions that alert us to the fact we are not living in a way that supports the health and vitality of our body and thus calls us to be way more responsible in terms of how we are choosing to live – the food we out into our body, the way we sleep, the quality of our thoughts, behaviours and interactions with others etc. when we truly understand that ‘life is medicine’ we can step out of the victim mode and start to restore who we truly are in a world that has long buried the reflection of this.
Simple but so true Tim, when we allow our-self to feel what certain foods do, we can turn back the clock on how we feel, by eliminating those food choices from what we eat.
“But is it possible to appear to slow down the ageing process by choosing to fuel and run our bodies in a loving manner, so we will look healthier and have more vitality? YES!”
Absolutely Tim, and the students of the livingness prove this again and again.
I wonder if as a society we all deeply cared for our bodies, what we would look like. Perhaps much of what we see in ageing is simply a consequence of not having cared for ourselves. Yes the body will age, wrinkles will form, things will slow down…but perhaps there is a grace to be had in all of this instead of much of what we see with it being a struggle and ill health.
Great photos’s Tim. I love the analogy of the car in relationship to our body and how we take care of it, inevitably bringing the same result as the car – from the care we have, or have not brought to it..
“Using the analogy of looking at our body as a car, what happens to a car if we:
Don’t always put the right fuel in?
Drive it too fast?
Don’t protect it from rusting?
Don’t keep it clean and tidy?
What happens is that the car starts to look shabby, neglected and old beyond its years”.
Aging happens slower than normal when we look at our normal (our diets, lifestyles etc) and express that it is actually abusive and we go back to what is natural to the body ( loving), what de-ages us is self-care and self-love.
This article and others like it need to be expanded, studied and put into practice if our society is going to begin to truly feel the harm of living life in disregard and the results that come from such a choice.
I loved reading your blog Tim and would love to be a passenger on your bus any day!
At some point as we get healthier and healthier we have to learn how to adjust to the increased power our car (body) has and that takes another whole level of awareness!
Living the future.. looking and feeling great. It is so worth taking care of ourselves.
Exactly Victoria the benefits far outweigh the non benefits so to speak, even if we like the retreat away from life in truth we want the care and love we just have to be willing to give this to ourselves, Whenever I get angry I don’t want to care for myself yet its then a cycle that keeps me from me.
Love the body/car analogy. It is interesting to look at the state our cars are in and the quality of care we treat them with…reflective of how we are with ourselves. In fact this applies to our homes too and everything in life.
True Victoria, in fact that would explain why it feels so great to valet your car inside and out!
No wonder he did not recognize you Tim the transformation I have witnessed in the time I have known you is extraordinary and I would not have recognized you now had I not seen you regularly over the years while you were changing.
Yes, I agree Mary-Louise- I have witnessed the same changes in Tim as reflected in the photos – totally awesome!
One of the most important relationships of our lives, which we are conditioned to overlook, is the one we have with our body. Whether we accept it, honor it or pay attention to it or not, the relationship remains, continually reminding us of the truth of our choices and if they are supporting us to live our true potential. Hence when we begin to listen and honor it, it is no surprise that our health and well-being improves out of sight.
“The choices I have made have had a profound effect on my life and I know I will never go back to my old ways.” This is profound compared to the success of diets. How many can say they will never go back?
Looking at your photo Tim, I’d say time travel is possible!
If our car becomes run down and shabby from our lack of care and loving attention it makes perfect sense that the same happens to our bodies. But it is very obvious that if we take more care of our car it will reflect that care in the way it looks and drives, just as our body will when we make the choice to treat it in a deeply caring and honouring way.
This is a true testimony of how making inner change can manifest when the inner change is backed up by choices that lovingly support the body.
A beautiful sharing on what it means to truly nourish ourselves from the inside and how this nourishment and love is then felt and mirrored outwardly so. Awesome thank you.
It makes absolute sense to me Tim. What doesn’t make sense is why there is such a push for all the products and lifestyle choices that are harmful to the body. The option of eating to support our body’s well-being and vitality still seem to be on the ‘unusual/less obvious’ list of approaches.
I love your photos Tim, it looks like time travel is possible when you look at them. It amazes me how incredible our bodies are and how well they respond to love and care. If we abuse our body and not look after it as well as we should it will deteriorate and age much faster, but when we make more loving choices it doesn’t take long for our body to regenerate and return to its natural state. Your blog shows us how intelligent and amazing our bodies are.
I love that your blog shows that now is always a great time to start making great choices for your body and taking great care of your overall health. It’s never too late to start to make amazing choices and giving ourselves the care that we truly need, as your story shows the results are incredible, and go much further than the eye can see.
It can never ever be too late to return to who we truly are because we can never ever not be who we are in truth and so in actual fact we are all already who we’re going to be and so it is not something that is measured in time but something that is marked in space because we are not stepping forwards in our return, it is something that we are moving backwards to being. We are returning to a way of being, there is no forwards motion in it, forwards motion is part of the illusion that keeps us peddling in the wrong direction.
I went to an old school reunion recently and I felt disappointed by the lack of vitality I saw in my friends. Most of them I had not seen since leaving school so lots had happened in all our lives – including mine. What struck me was that they all said I hadn’t changed, it was like the ticking time clock had gone on hold.
“I feel that by putting the wrong fuel into our bodies it starts to rust from the inside. We start to look a lot older than we actually are and then things start to break down.” An invitation to be our own mechanic and fine tune our vehicle.
When we choose to live true to ourselves anything is possible.
Most societies around the world are eating foods that are not good and are harmful to them, society even endorses this kind of unhealthy behaviour it is seen as the norm to eat sugar, drink alcohol and to have caffeine yet all of these dramatically decrease our mental and physical vitality.
Loading the body up with food items that are devoid of what is truly nutritious makes us heavy, bloated and foggy; no fancy science needed here, just practical everyday experience and astute and honest observation.
Its true Tim, all people need is a reflection that is true and they can get a glimpse of a different reality.
Its a shame we fuel our bodies with the wrong fuel when we are young and the body copes and suffers and then we age and the cracks deepen and start to appear everywhere. Much easier to be self loving when we are younger.
‘I feel that by putting the wrong fuel into our bodies it starts to rust from the inside.’ This is a great analogy Tim.
Well done.
It is so true that we are super careful not to put the wrong fuel into our cars but generally pay far less attention to what we are fuelling our bodies with. You are an amazing example of how you can appear to turn back the clock when you chose to completely overhaul your diet and start to take care of every aspect of your life and this has been captured beautifully in your before and after photos.
I love your sharing Tim! What an inspiration you are , and looking at your photos I can see that it is possible to get younger when we treat our bodies lovingly.
It really goes to show that we do have a hand in how we are looking and feeling in our bodies unlike many people who say that it is about genes, heavy bones etc. We do have a responsibility for everything that happens in our body.
I was at a meeting the other day and age came up in the conversation, when I told them my age most of them was shocked and said I looked a lot lot younger, I know this is because I live lightly, and live a life as best of my ability based on love. Love always is the best product to invest in.
We generally seem to find it easier to care for our cars, i.e. give it the right fuel, than it is to care for ourselves. We would never deliberately put diesel into a petrol engine but we don’t think twice about filling our body with alcohol and soft drinks. Why do we care so little about the body that we live in and that is with us 24/7?
It’s true we wouldn’t put the wrong fuel in our car as we know the harm this would cause and yet we don’t apply the same principle to food and our bodies! Yet, Tim you have proven just what happens when you do take the care to nourish yourself.
You really have transformed, it’s great to see your smile in the second picture.
Great food for thought Tim ; ) Love it! And what if we could live our future today? That instead of going back in time we are ahead of our time, in that we are living our future selves now. With every moment that we are met with, we are presented with a choice that will determine the quality in which we will live the next moment that inevitably returns to us. And so, it is that it could be that with every moment we are met with, we are presented with our future, with the added opportunity to choose the quality in which we step into our future.
I certainly felt my body telling me that drinking alcohol was ‘rusting’ the inside. It wasn’t just my body thou it was the way I felt about myself and feeling drained and exhausted. Not just from the sugar that is alcohol but from checking out of myself and waking the next morning feeling odd and like I was trying to come back to myself. Whilst I would be throwing up inside the toilet bowl. Everything we clear that it was not agreeing with my body and being.
It appears mad to me that we have a whole industry for anti ageing when the possibilities are there to change how we look and feel by our nutritional and other lifestyle changes. Perhaps we actually need in a deeply honest way to address why we are so drawn to poor health choices. In terms of understanding the ‘why’ nothing and no one has ever come close to explaining this like Serge Benhayon does in his presentations.
The amount of things we’ve created in order to solve our problems is incredible – the “clean eating” hype, the gym hype, the ant-acing hype, they’re all just bandages to our wounds, but these bandages will soon become too small to cover the hurts we’re creating ourselves.
We do have this effect on people…. And we don’t have to say anything … our bodies and the light in our eyes speak volumes for us.
I love this Chris, so TRUE.
I know many people who through lifestyle choices have gotten younger as they’ve aged. Perhaps our perception of ageing is warped especially as we fuel ourselves with things our bodies aren’t fond of.
‘I feel that by putting the wrong fuel into our bodies it starts to rust from the inside.’ I love this description of putting the wrong fuel in our bodies. A great question to ask ourselves when we are eating – will this food rust or lubricate and allow my body to flow?
It’s interesting how people clock change, real and true change in another but as soon as that change is explained they can become very weary and even concerned! A great example here is not drinking alcohol and how the choice to not do that really rocks the boat for a lot of people because it is actually saying that drinking alcohol should not be a normal thing to do to the body.
To address the foods we eat we have to first address the reason we crave those foods in the first place. Recently I have noticed that when I feel great and in total acceptance of who I am I am content within myself and therefore do not feel the need to overeat or eat foods that dull me but when I feel in contraction especially after I have been in the company of others there is a tendency to want to overeat and numb myself… the link between food and how we are feeling is certainly something to consider and worth observing.
I love reading these before and after stories where it appears that the person has stopped ageing and looking better than ever. However there are many more examples these days of the negative before and after, where time is not so kind to the person we meet 10 or 20 years later. I was reflecting today on why older people are not valued in our society and somewhat shunned. I wondered if we don’t like the reflection we see, of the way we live and the end result 70 or 80 years later.
If we don’t see food as fuel for our bodies and nothing more we will always be susceptible to the comforts and indulgence of it.
It is possible to travel out of time.
Such a fantastic analogy because we all know what happens to a car that is not looked after, it stops working. Starting to turn the way we think and realise that we are either rusting ourselves from the inside or not is an amazing opportunity to change the quality of life we are going to live. You are a prime example Tim and thanks so much for sharing.
‘It just makes sense that if something we put into our bodies can prematurely age us, then we can reverse that by not putting it into our bodies,’ Absolutely. And our common perception of ageing is in fact premature ageing.
That is exactly right – especially the idea that we lose vitality in our 50s, 60s and 70s. That is completely optional.
“I feel that by putting the wrong fuel into our bodies it starts to rust from the inside. We start to look a lot older than we actually are and then things start to break down.” It is true Tim and like our car it takes a while for this to happen and then one day we wake up to seeing the rust that had gradually been happening in certain areas of the car or in some cases only exposed when the car goes to the garage, no different to our body and a visit to the doctors. We know if we put diesel in a petrol car it will do a lot of harm and possibly need a new engine, yet we are happy to override our bodies and put in fuel we know deep down to be harming but refuse to accept or even look at, even when our bodies, the doctors and the emergency operation say otherwise.
When we eat to nourish our body like everything else it has a knock on effect. We have energy and it supports and sets us up for what is next. Whereas when we indulge in food and drink we become lethargic and are more likely to sit in front of the tv to distract and numb ourselves. What we choose in every moment affects the next.
Tim, your analogy of the car is a good one because a lot of the time we take better care of our cars than we do our bodies. It certainly makes sense that we consider the fuel we want to put into our bodies.
The photos of you say it all Tim. “Is it possible then, if we don’t lovingly take care of our bodies and really look at what fuel we put into it, that our bodies will go through the same process?” Yet so many of us take more care of our cars than we do of our body. And then we expect doctors to clear up the havoc we have created with pills or surgery. No wonder health care systems are going bankrupt.
You only need walk into a supermarket to see the immense volumes of pain killers and indigestion aids on sale, and know as a society we have a problem. Those shelves wouldn’t be stacked full of such goods unless there was the demand, and that tells us people are in pain, or at least discomfort very often. The issue is are we willing to change our way of living to avoid that pain, or live how we want (in disregard of the body) and overcome it with drugs.
A brilliant blog and tribute to your choices Tim. Your words remind me that life doesn’t have to be the way we think it does, all struggles and hardship. All we need is the love to say ‘no’ to the things we do that abuse us. For me that is less to do with the foods that I eat and more dependent on the emotions in which I partake. They certainly take their toll on me – so it seems simple and clear that it’s time to travel a different path from here.
Great article Tim, your pictures say it, how amazing, that by lovingly looking after your body by eliminating sugar dairy and gluten, how that can provide a younger healthier and more vibrant version of your self. It goes to show how huge the impact that certain foods have on our life.
Seriously amazing. And it’s not about trying to remain young forever, or delay the getting old process. It’s about sustaining our bodies so that they can support us through our life and not ambush it by destroying it with toxic fuel.
I enjoyed reading your example of how the car is like your body Tim. So often we are impressed by a shiny and well looked after car and will appreciate the model. Why is it that when we show the same levels of shine in our body that we are often met with resistance, remarks that are not supportive or a level of comparison?
Time travel may not be possible, but it is possible to look younger and more beautiful as we age and that is all about the choices we are making. All of them. However it’s not about how we look or external appearances that’s simply a result of our inner connection which results in all of our choices.
Totally awesome Tim. As a kid I remember thinking time travel would be epic – I could go back any time in the past and see what life was like or take a sneak peek into the future, and I love what you’ve shared about this being a reality in terms of how we live and the health of our bodies.. We can change the present and bring the future now.
We are consumed by the things we consume, until we begin discerning these choices and what we are in fact saying yes to.
Thank you, Tim, you are a true role model for others to be inspired to live in a way that is honouring of their own inner beauty which is more than what we can see visibly but more of an emanation within.
If the old Tim had stood on the roof tops he’d have broken the roof – now he’d float on the tiles like a butterfly!
On top of which it is particularly special to hear a man talk about this stuff. So few men are open to self care like this and I mean true self care. In that any attention that most men give their bodies is based in vanity and a pursuit of some kind of image. Whereas what I can feel in what you are sharing Tim is that you choices and changes are rooted in a commitment to live, eat and move in a way that supports you to be the tender, amazing, loving and open man that we all are – weights-smashing, body-building and fad-eating is not the same!
These photos are amazing – truly amazing and it is awesome that you are out there Tim – a living example of the choices that we can make. I have so much admiration, respect and appreciation of you for the love that you have shown yourself and thus the love that you inspire us all to be to ourselves. Amazing man.
It great to come back and re-read this and appreciate how much things can change if we really start looking after ourselves. The old body, car analogy is a good one as it is so easy to spot a car that is not being looked after as well as a body or the person who does not self-care.
It is interesting that we can age and yet we don’t feel any different inside as if time has not passed. Yet when we challenge our ideals and beliefs around how we should be in life again we can let go of years of burdens we have carried.
It is also the vitality and shine from the face of someone who is living with self care and live from their bodies that really stands out, and takes years off!
Thanks Tim, yes we have indeed discovered the ultimate Tardis… Reconnected living… It’s as simple as that.
And let’s not forget how much space there was inside the Tardis as well. Your analogy works on multiple levels Chris!
In the two photographs, I love how Tim is just very honest and open in the one on the right, whereas in the left hand photo he seems to be hiding. How gorgeous to see Tim not hiding anymore..
Absolutely. The physical changes are one thing – but it is the shining light of this awesome man – standing strong, proud and open that I love.
I love coming back to this blog, it is so inspiring – and I love looking at the before and after pictures: you are so handsome!
I agree Gabriele, although for me it’s not so much that Tim is handsome but more that he is very attractive. There is a quality about Tim that makes him incredibly appealing, something that draws me towards him and makes me want to connect and find out more. It doesn’t have an ounce of sexual energy or even flirtatiousness about it but something deep, recognised and known.
We tend to want to always consult experts, naturopaths, dieticians, etc regarding what to eat but if we put the power in someone else’s hands we generally then are using willpower to follow a diet. And, that diet may not be right for our body. Listening to the body is much simpler and places the power lovingly with ourselves. It’s not about motivation, goals, or willpower but respecting and honouring the body with honesty and self love.
Such a simple and straightforward blog and the results speak for themselves in the before and after photos. This is a beautiful example of how our choices impact our lives and our bodies.
“But is it possible to appear to slow down the ageing process by choosing to fuel and run our bodies in a loving manner, so we will look healthier and have more vitality? YES!” So true Tim. I love the car analogy. We all know what happens if we put petrol in a diesel car. Why don’t we take the same care with our bodies?
The majority of the population is getting bigger and unhealthier whilst those involved with Universal Medicine are doing the exact opposite. These stories should be making headlines
Love of self is a really great reason to stop eating and drinking things that simply do not work for us and actually harm us.
It really is so simple we are what we eat and if we eat greasy fatty food that’s whats our bodies have to become, the human race would not suffer as much if instead of succumbing to our cravings and minds desires we listen to our bodies and truly honour what they want as a form of nourishment.
What is the point of looking younger if we don’t feel and live with more joy and vitality? We can so often focus on what is the right foods to eat or not in order to achieve weight loss, but this story demonstrates a fuller picture of eating in a nourishing way to allow our true essence more space to shine from within.
Since we are divine the body needs to be looked after so that we can shine like the bright lights that we are. And that you do Tim.
I wouldn’t be so quick to dismiss time travel because what I have learnt is that most of us don’t even know what “Time” is and live under a completely false understanding or rather complete lack of understanding about time. If you want to know the truth about time I highly recommend the book “Time, Space and all of us, Book 1 – Time” by Serge Benhayon – a totally revelatory and liberating must read!
This is truly miraculous Tim, imagine, instead of trying to loose weight we assessed our diet and cut out food and drink, as you did, that are not good for us. We need to listen to our bodies and eat only what works for us. This would change the diet industry, you need to do presentations in these institutions to bring greater awareness around a true diet.
Time travel is the art of living the future now so that all can arise back to the absolute majesty we are and once lived. By making a few simple but life changing choices Tim, you have showed us all that it is possible to reverse the ageing process once we reconnect to, and start living from, the deep well of love that lives within our heart.
These pictures Tim are outstanding, you look amazing – what a journey you have been on to now come back to the beautiful tender guy you are. Bring it on Tim you inspire many others.
Your before and after pictures speak volumes – the transformation is colossal, to say the least. And you shed all this weight not through willpower or any diets, but by having a good look at how loving the choices you made actually were and whether you really wanted to continue down that path of self abuse.
Just like the well-known, time-travelling, TV Doctor, Tim’s story and pictures prove we can indeed – just like the good Doctor – regenerate!
Tim it was brilliant to reread your blog again. The changes you have made in your life are profound…Through your lived experiences and turn around you really speak from a knowing and authority on the subject. What you share is so true, “I feel that by putting the wrong fuel into our bodies it starts to rust from the inside.” You are an inspiration and for those that knew you before and after must certainly give them pause for thought.
Better than any anti ageing cream, what we eat, how we live, and not bottling up emotions and feelings, That is simple living.
Tim ,you have just shared the secret to “eternal beauty” and that is simply by being loving with ourselves and being willing to make adjustments for what our bodies need in accordance to our own evolution.
When we are being who we truly are we are all so beautiful, stunning in fact. Just imagine how blindingly dazzling it’s going to be when we are all collectively being who we truly are!
I have recently met up with someone who I hadn’t seen for at least 15 years and his reaction was the same as your friend’s; in fact for the next hour he couldn’t stop telling me how amazing I looked. We mightn’t be able to time travel but we can certainly return to a way of living that is not so taxing and draining on our bodies, as both you and I are great examples of Tim; looking younger and more vital as we age, something that is breaking all the beliefs we have been raised to accept as normal.
A beautiful testimony on how what we choose to eat and drink is responsible for how we feel, our health and our sense of well-being.
Thank you for sharing your story Tim, and the profound changes form you emberacing a more loving nad caring way to live. A true inspiration for all.
Reversing the look of being worn out and ageing beyond one’s actual age is definitely possible as Tim shows. The idea of giving up alcohol is still such a huge thing for people and the social effect appears to be as important as the physical. But this begs the question, why do we depend on physically harming habits in order to feel comfortable socialising?
Interesting that your friend chose to focus on the alcohol when you were presenting the whole picture of choices and changes you had made. Alcohol is a crux that holds many of us, it certainly did me for many years, as it is a medication that stopped me having to feel uncomfortable things that were arising for me to address. And although it might be fun to say that alcohol is all about having a good time, when we see the direct links to cancer and the other social problems that arise, we know this is not true.
It is interesting to observe how much we live disconnected from our bodies to the point that we often are more concerned about the state of our cars than we are our physical bodies. I know I lived with this disconnection for ages. As important it is to observe what we are choosing to put into or ask of our bodies, is to observe and explore why we are choosing it. As with this honesty we free ourselves to understand and know what degree of Love we are actually choosing to live in connection with.
I love looking at these two pictures. Amazing. Wondrous. Inspiring. (even the nature behind you looks a zillion times healthier!)
Thank you Tim, it really is that simple when we put the wrong things into our bodies we suffer for it, when we listen to what our bodies are saying we thrive. We always have to choices.
Hands up who’s used food for everything but what it is intended for? I know I have. For reward, energy, pleasure, to numb myself, to sleep, to alleviate boredom, to entertain… You name it, it’s been misused. And so many of us do this – and at such a cost to our well-being.
I’ve come to realise for myself how much of a drug food has been / still is for me. Kicking the habit whilst still eating to nourish the body is the challenge.
Very impressive turnaround Tim – the photos speak a thousand words, and not necessarily the weight but the open-ness across the chest especially.
I love the title of this blog Tim Bowyer as you have hit the nail on the head with this topic that so many want quick fixes with. Dieting has become a trillion dollar industry that looks at quick fixes to the long- term ways of living with instant results. The choices of fuel we have made over the years are a responsibility that lies with us. The inspiration you have received from the work of Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine is a reminder of where we can go next and the vitality we can all live.
WOW! You look sooooooo much younger in the second photo. Diet definietly has a huge impact on our health and in turn how we look. I needed to go to a building at work to get my phone sorted out and this might sound a bit weird but the whole floor (and it’s a big floor) felt unwell. The majority of the day staff are looking at their computer screen and drinking either tea or coffee and you could feel this lack of vitality in the air. When we care for ourselves it has a bigger impact on everything around us including other people and how we work.
The way we typically imagine someone who is in their 30s, 40s, 50s, or 60s is often based on a life that is considered ‘normal’ by society’s standards, including a diet of the ‘food pyramid’, and including alcohol, sugar, gluten, dairy, caffeine etc. A life free of these things sets an entirely new standard on what we can look like at any age.
We most certainly can turn back the ageing process through our choices to self-nurture – not that I mind getting older, but the grace in which we age depends very much on our choices. I recently renewed my driver’s license and was pleasantly surprised to see that I indeed appeared younger in the the most recent photo. There was greater vitality in my eyes and a lightness of being that was not there five years ago.
I’ve noticed recently that people keep telling me that I look younger every time I see them… its always a bit of an awkward moment becuase they can’t quite understand the how or the why. I think you’ve nailed it here Tim – generally the way we live ages us faster, so when someone takes care of themselves in every way they know how then I know for me there is a vitality that shines through.. and it is that they recognise.
Tim it is amazing how much you have changed – same person yet looking completely different! What a great testimonial you are to the benefits of taking care of yourself and that it is never too late.
“It just makes sense that if something we put into our bodies can prematurely age us, then we can reverse that by not putting it into our bodies, something which I have experienced, all without a time capsule in sight!!” it is so simple, by making a choice not to eat something can easily slow down the ageing process, what most of us don’t realise food can really harm our body if its not nutritious and contains lots of sugar
An awesome sharing, what I find really interesting is that tipping point where the choice is made to change our ways, to let go of a behaviour like eating the wrong foods or watching too much TV and replacing it with healthier choices. I know myself this can sometimes be a bit of a seesaw, one bad choice followed by the motivation to make a better one, but the change only really sticks when I feel and understand the consequences of the less loving behaviour, something that Tim it seems has really got to grips with. A motivational read for sure and one free of any excuses, just getting on with changing his life for the better.
What stood out to me was the photo, I have never met you but you look like a solid bloke and I read in your blurb that you are a bus driver on one of the busiest streets in the world, Oxford Street in London. To me it makes this testimonial even more powerful because not only are you choosing food and a lifestyle that supports you but you a strong enough in yourself as a man to write publicly about why you are, truly an inspiration to every man that thinks they are too burly or tough a guy to talk about self love, awesome!
Hello Tim and by eating the ‘right’ foods or food that supports you to actually be in each or as many moments in your day as possible then time appears to stand still. I’m realising more and more that everything is connected and if you can add more and more detail to that connections time can open up further. I love what you are saying in here because there is the relationship with food also. How and what you eat sets up each moment and as you show eating to support yourself truly has turned back time on your clock. So time isn’t what it seems and more and more I am seeing that the clock doesn’t put pressure on me, it’s me that try’s to go faster and get things done and in that time reflects that there is ‘no time’. As you have done, if we want things to change then there is no use pointing at other things, we need to make a change and what’s more we have already known this for sometime and just have chosen to ignore it.
The transforming power of making different choices cannot be underestimated.
There was a very interesting study recently that actually mapped the effects of sugar, caffeine, alcohol , dairy, gluten on the face, and how this health practitioner could determine exactly what people ate… just by looking at their face … Interesting !
Wow Tim what a transformation, you are living proof that making loving choices in the way we eat leads to amazing changes that truly support us and inspires others.
I got from reading this blog and looking at the before and after pictures, how much more in focus you are now Tim and although this could be brought to a simple explanation about photographic quality, I can feel the truth that it is a lot more than that!
I used to also have a constant supply of heartburn pills, in fact if I had run out I knew I would not be able to sleep much until I replenished my stock. It was a common thing for guys in my circle of friends to take them as well, but now they are all on blood pressure pills also, It’s no doubt if I hadn’t stopped drinking alcohol and changed my diet I too would be on these pills to reduce blood pressure for the rest of my life or until I made better life style choices.
It goes to show how distorted our version of time, and age has become when it can so clearly be very different. We have accepted a picture of what happens to the body over years of living; instead of seeing that what is common is not ‘normal’ and there is a level of vitality that can be lived and sustained, and thus a deeper beauty and contentment within the body that can come with the number of cycles around the sun.
Amazing Tim.
It’s interesting how often making self caring or self loving choices is mocked or made fun of – i.e.: ‘oh, you go to bed early’, or ‘what? you don’t drink’…
However time always tells the true nature of our choices and our bodies always reveal whether they have been supportive or not.
Thank you Tim for sharing your amazing changes, your pictures say it all.
It’s amazing the knock on effect of simply making a different choice for yourself. “With the changes I have made to what I eat and drink I no longer need any tablets for heartburn or indigestion, I don’t feel bloated and my energy levels have increased. My thoughts have a lot more clarity and are not just focussed on me. My skin is very clear and I haven’t had a cold or a chest complaint for years.”
I just loved reading this again Tim and the responsibility you have taken to really look at your lifestyle and not be a victim anymore.
Wow – what an amazing journey you have gone on from managing your health to now being absolutely accountable for every movement. When we get into the poor me mentality – one thing leads to another – we’re on tablets, we can’t move much, we eat the wrong foods ect. It can be a downward spiral. But to truly claim back who we are just shows that being a victim is just a choice to hide who we are underneath.
Beautifully inspiring to read this blog again this morning. The thing is that the tweeking of our diet never ends. As our bodies get lighter and more sensitive as we cut out the foods that are obviously weighing us down and holding us back we naturally choose different things to nurture and nourish us. I used to say that I enjoyed my food and it was true but now I can taste so much more and by not snacking in between meals I enjoy what I eat so much more too. By allowing myself to feel how energetically full my body and life is and appreciating this and saying yes to life I am saying yes to more true respect for my body and a much trimmer body like you Tim.
When we overeat it makes us feel very tired, and the result is that we either just sit down and distract ourselves, or we continue to work constantly needed a sugar boost to get us through the day, and as a result the body is not getting time to digest and process the intake and resorts to storing it up.
It it amazing (but not really) that simple changes have such a big impact on one’s life. Giving up coffee, TV, sugar, dairy and gluten can seem like such a big deal. Yet once we do it, it is self motivating as the impacts start to kick in and be felt. They are small changes to make in life and their impact is huge. But of course they are. The simple choice of putting the wrong fuel in your car would be detrimentally damaging to your car. We know that, yet we play dumb to what we do to our bodies.
Thank you Tim , that is amazing. How powerful to see that these changes made such huge effect on your life and also body. Incredible work, and this shows the absolute commitment and support along your way. Beautiful to read. I want to hear more!
Your before and after shots say so much about how influential the foods we consume are on our bodies and overall wellbeing
Tim I love your analogy of a car ‘I feel that by putting the wrong fuel into our bodies it starts to rust from the inside. We start to look a lot older than we actually are and then things start to break down.’ This is so true, because we don’t actually see the rust on the inside we don’t take any notice, and then when we do it takes a lot longer to start dealing with the ‘Rust’.
Tim, I love your articles, pure and simple just saying it how it is. We all have the opportunity for miracles like yours and you ‘going back in time’ is a miracle that needs to be shouted from the roof tops. In this day and age real life stories where people turn their life around, look younger, feel amazing and have more energy are very rare in mainstream society, what you share is golden. Thanks for the inspiration.
Amazing blog Tim, I have read this a few times but love reading it again because it really highlights how amazing our body is. Even though after years of eating food that didn’t support you, by making loving choices to care and support yourself it regenerated and you look years younger, vibrant and joyful. What we choose to put into our body definitely affects us in every way, just like the example of our car, we would never choose to put the wrong fuel into our car because we know it will break down, our bodies are not dissimilar to our car.
This has nothing to do with dieting, this is just choosing to love yourself more every single day, must have been quite a shock to your friend to meet you, opening his eyes to see and feel all of you, what a healing.
This is a great sharing and look into how we feed our bodies and the consequences we may not be completely aware of. Our bodies are our most precious possession, yet most of us don’t see it this way. A lot see their car or house or family or some priceless object as their most precious possession, but it is in fact our bodies. They are with us 24 hours a day, yes, that is every single moment of every single day, yet we treat them with such disdain and disregard most of the time. I love what you have shared here Tim in terms of the fuel we give our precious bodies has an impact, one that can prematurely age us and cause illness or disease, or one that can support us in our vitally, as well as our physical and mental well-being.
Awesome sharing Tim – the photos say it all, but more importantly yet is the difference you feel in your body. Thank you for your sharing. I also find it a blessing that you met your friend and got to share this with him, but also in the process got to truly appreciate yourself and the choices you have made in life.
This two photos say it all. Everything. In your short article you have listed some of the profound knock-on effects. But if we are to expand this out and imagine a whole nation making the same changes, it becomes almost impossible to quantify the ginormous social and financial changes that would occur. This is so much more than just a guy who has lost a few pounds. This is a world-changing story and example. This is inspiration in it’s simplest, purest and most powerful form.
Absolutely amazing blog Tim! The difference in your ‘before and after’ is extraordinary, there is now so much joy and aliveness in your after! I am inspired by how you explained your lifestyle change to your old friend. There is no limit to the amount that we can share that can help other people, even if we think it isn’t relevant or they don’t want to hear it, it is surprising that more often than not it changes someone’s life.
Absolutely inspiring Tim, with your before and after photos speaking volumes; who could argue with the fact that these days you are bringing your body all the love and care that it needs. And I totally agree “that by putting the wrong fuel into our bodies it starts to rust from the inside”. From your after photo it is certainly obvious that you have been very successfully getting rid of that rust!
It does make me wonder how true ageing occurs when the body doesn’t have all the substances and behaviours that prematurely age it faster than is natural. As you’ve shared here Tim you are an amazing example of how without the extra weight of harming behaviours the body can age, be, live and work naturally and simply with a joy that no amount of those added behaviours could ever bring no matter how they are dressed up to be our supposed solutions.
A great blog, sharing your story and wisdom by using a powerful metaphor;
“I feel that by putting the wrong fuel into our bodies it starts to rust from the inside. We start to look a lot older than we actually are and then things start to break down”.
I have also experienced the utter disbelief from people when I say I don’t drink alcohol any more, it’s as though they can’t conceive a world where alcohol doesn’t exist. I also feel a sort of pity from some,as though I have some sort of affliction and can’t drink it. I would hate to see how old I would look now if I continued to consume alcohol at the rate I used to, it would probably look like I had used time travel to go forward in time.
At younger and younger ages people are looking older than their years and so what Tim is referring to here about our bodies being like cars and if we place the wrong fuel in them they will start to rust makes total sense. This confirms that our lifestyle and many of the foods that we are eating are not supporting our health and well-being.
It always amazes me when I have the discussion around cutting out certain foods that people comment “don’t you feel like you are missing out?” I would much rather pass on the food and not miss out on life to ill health and disease .
I cannot begin to imagine what sort of health problems I would have if I hadn’t had the Way of the Livingness presented to me. I used to treat my body like 1975 Skoda that had had fourteen owners no MOT or tax and was ready for the scrape yard. Now I treat it maybe not quite like a Bently but maybe a one owner lightly used but cared for Mercedes.
Brilliant Kevin and very funny … but I guess in someways not – meaning how we treat our bodies or have done in the past, with complete disregard. The Way of the Livingness has completely turn my life around to, health problems I used to have, like painful periods, are no more. What I got from reading Tim’s blog this time round was just how addictive these foods and drinks are (gluten, dairy, caffeine, sugar and alcohol) in that we can feel how badly the body reacts to them but just carry on choosing to have them! It shows just how much we have learnt to override our bodies and the foundation of self-love and self-care has not been there.
You are an inspiration Tim and ‘expanding’ your light for everyone around you. Love it.
Great blog Tim, I love the analogy to running a car, many of us look after our cars better than we look after ourselves. It is easy to make changes once you start, and it starts with making one choice, saying no to what we know deep down does not support us.
I am constantly amazed by the way in which students of the Universal Medicine look younger, healthier and more joy-full every time I see them. I have seen miracles happen right before my eyes and you Tim are a prime example of one of them!
I agree Sam, Tim is such a great advert if there was to be one, for the benefits and the importance of a few different lifestyle choices. I would love to see that on a bill board or a Telly advert instead of the ones from weight watches or other so called health promoting adds.
Once I put the wrong fuel in my car, petrol instead of diesel. Instantly it stopped functioning properly, a few coughs and splutters and that was it. No second chance here! and certainly not years of abuse putting in the wrong fuel as I did with my body. You set an amazing example Tim and an inspiration to us all as to what is so possible when we start to put in four star fuel and the high performance we get in return.
I agree Susan, I had two people in the space of two days comment on how young I was looking ( at least not looking my age) and dropping alcohol and coffee was a big part of that
I can feel that my choices are supporting my body to stay as healthy and vital as it is able at 41, age will come and is coming and yet I feel and look better than I ever have in my adult life. Although not time travel, I am certainly not falling into the trap of ‘thinking’ that as I age I need to ‘go down hill’ or get a ‘mid life spread’ neither of these or any other descriptions for not feeling or looking good are necessary, they are not a for gone conclusion with age.
So inspiring Tim!
I love this blog Tim, I couldn’t agree with you more ! Thank you for sharing.
Time travel is possible especially for people involved in Universal Medicine, from my observation people who start making positive lifestyle choices reverse the ageing factor
Thank you Tim for sharing your story, the changes you have made in your diet and the effects on your life are nothing short of amazing . One lady said ” I am getting younger as I am getting older” looks the same with you also.
Those photos just say a thousand words, the health, vitality and wellbeing that jumps out at you is just delightful. Absolutely something to celebrate for yourself, the fact you feel so good within and about you, is just wonderful.
The photos can’t be argued with…not an airbrush in sight and a glowing health and vitality.
I love your before and after pictures Tim. Now you look and feel so joyful, clear and light. Why would anyone not want to take care of themselves in the way that you have described?
Tim I would be gob smacked if I knew you before and then met you looking the way you do now. The transformation is astounding. Not only have you lost weight, but you look vibrant and glowing with vitality. There is a lot to be said for the fuel we put into our bodies. You demonstrate how much power there is in simple choices around eating and drinking. So wonderful that you no longer need medication for heartburn.
Removing gluten, dairy and alcohol from my diet instantly cured my horrendous heart burn/indigestion problem. As it turned out those three things were the problem not the cure. I also lost loads of weight to boot.
When I look around me at the amount of cakes, bread and pasta that get consumed every day, I sometimes wonder how people are standing up! Since choosing not to eat gluten any more loads of niggling health issues have disappeared. The choice to eat for how I feel, rather than what tastes good has been life changing.
“I feel that by putting the wrong fuel into our bodies it starts to rust from the inside. We start to look a lot older than we actually are and then things start to break down.” I love this description – it is so true. The idea of rusting from the inside is very graphic and one that makes us sit up and take notice. And how many people want to rust away from the inside? I know I don’t and that’s why I do not choose alcohol dairy or gluten as part of my diet. However the more we refine our diet so too do our bodies respond and gradually make it more and more obvious to us what truly supports them, or not. It is then our turn to honour those choices now coming from our body so loud and clear. Our relationship with our bodies is no different from that of our friends or family . The more we respect honour and love them the more they love us back and the vitality clarity and loveliness of them is easy to feel.
Everything you have shared about how we fuel our bodies and how this is reflected in how we look and more importantly feel is so true Tim. Your story is a great testament and inspiration for us all. Thank you for sharing your transformation with us.
Self responsibility and self care will gradually filter into everyday living. It will be the turning point in society because nothing else is working. There are many government initiatives to promote a healthy lifestyle, but even these are flawed to some degree. Those that are already choosing self care this as their path know within their hearts that this is the path to true inner and outer vitality.
Self-care will filter in, and this a great way to describe getting started on the self-care journey. Gradually making small choices that bring a loving care to the body. This then feeds the body back with the vitality, health, ease and energy we have all been looking for.
Thanks for sharing your story Tim , your right time travel may not be possible but we certainly can use it as a marker of how we live and the energy we live in , what your friend saw was how you have reset your use of time. A great confirmation of how you have lived in your previous cycles around the sun since you last saw your friend up until your current meeting and how he and other people he knows had lived those orbits.
What is time travel in truth and why do we want to do it? It is to travel back in time so to speak to re do a certain event or action so that in the future the outcomes will be better. Do we not have this opportunity with us all the time? We don’t have to relive the past to redo the present for a better future, we can simply make the true choice now.
Wow Tim what a change! Nobody can close their eyes to what you have presented so clearly in your awesome blog and with your amazing photos. What you say is mind-blowing and easy and on top did not cost a lot of money: “It just makes sense that if something we put into our bodies can prematurely age us, then we can reverse that by not putting it into our bodies, something which I have experienced, all without a time capsule in sight!!” That is gold and needed to be print in big letters in a daily newspaper. I would love to read it because what you recommend is so easy understandable and made so much sense.
Tim, I thoroughly enjoyed re-reading your blog. As you say – it just makes sense to take care of our bodies which are very willing to respond accordingly. With the sky rocketing rates of chronic disease it would be great if doctors, health practitioners and pharmacists etc were distributing your your blog along with all the other bits and pieces that are given out to patients to read.
Inspiring story Tim – thank you. Your story and that of many students of The Way of the Livingness is defying trends and turning their health and well-being around and sustainably so – as you say you will never go back to those old ways as you have built a foundation of self-care and self-love. What I find interesting when we dull and numb ourselves whether it be through food or emotions is the quality of our thoughts. You mentioned your thoughts always being about food and watching a video I can relate very strongly to this as when I was in a strong momentum of dishonouring my body through my daily choices, my whole focus was on checking out – finding relief, a dead spot where I could just ‘check out’. This was mostly with alcohol, drama and tv – but it all had a similar dulling quality to it that was a flatline, same all the time, and not a whiff of expansion or evolution. As you can see in your eyes in the photo, each moment is an opportunity to feel and express more love as we commit to self-care and self-love – totally awesome!
Tim when I see the words, ‘dairy, gluten, alcohol, sugar and caffeine’ written there in a row I can feel your responsibility and commitment to yourself in choosing to eliminate them from your life! This is no small feat in a world that is intent of promoting these foods as acceptable and even a necessary part of our diets. Well done you for embracing your own power and showing the world how life can be when we know ourselves as worth such care.
I feel that by putting the wrong fuel into our bodies it starts to rust from the inside. We start to look a lot older than we actually are and then things start to break down. This is so true Tim, and yet people use the term, that’s just old age, or, that’s what happens when you get older, things just start to fall apart. If we took much more care of ourselves we would be vital and enjoy our lives for much longer.
I can feel too that this is true Julie, eating the foods that do not support what our bodies truly need does influence the ageing of the body. To my experience not many are going against the trend and eat to what their body supports. I see many people eat what they are told to eat and by that not nurturing their bodies to the level to truly support it in all that the body has to do. Through this behaviors the body ages in a certain way, a way that has become the norm of aging with the majority of people in nowadays societies.
This is great sentence, how many people feel like the in the evening….”Because of what I was eating I always felt lethargic; I just couldn’t be bothered to do anything except watch TV, which just compounded the issue.” I know I did, I rushed all day was ahead of myself and felt too busy and then when it got quiet I would eat a meal and lie back on the sofa, feel exhausted and unsatisfied. I can remember very clearly doing this, but I have find another way to care for myself now and I live with vitality, I would not choose another way now. I still have work to do, but that is cool, it is part of life. We can make these choices to alter how we approach our health, whatever our age, and they are so worth it feel amazing.
Tim – wow the change in you is enormous, there is absolutely no doubt that the Ganges you have made in taking care of yourself has had the most ginormous impact on your health and wellbeing.
What a handsome man you are, and great that you show you….not disguise you by ill choices…you definitely have shown that lifestyle choices have an enormous impact on our bodies and thus our quality of life. But most of all, when we choose lifestyle of wellbeing and vitality it brings out how we are born to look, and that is beautiful, with a quality of wellbeing…to make these positive choices builds a loving relationship with our selves and natural this is shared with others. Love and wellbeing are the ingredients to not only healthy living but quality of life…i’ll also throw in some joy in the mix.
I think describing you as ‘younger’ Tim, is an understatement. You do look younger than your years, but you also look and feel lighter, brighter, more exuberant and lit up from within – this is something that you do not attain by being ‘young’, but by being joyfully connected to who you truly are.
I love this blog, it so clearly shows what an enormous effect our diets and way of life has on our appearance and the quality of being.
Absolutely Benkt van Haastrecht, we have total control of our bodies and how they are operating, so can choose to lovingly look after it or not, but in the end the body reflects our choices.
Agreed Benkt, the choices Tim made show us all how when we strip back all the extra layers we have taken on in life, we get back to the sparkle and vital being we so naturally are.
The quality of life that emerges from dietary choices is incredible. and dare I say not something the food manufacturers want you to know!
Tim, what I see in your picture and also when I look at pictures of myself, there is so much more aliveness in your face Our expression is vibrant, you see the joy, a sparkle..just love coming through. I saw un uncle after 20 years and he said, what has happened to you, your face has become so expressive and that is the truth we express who we are and that stands out
I count myself also as a living testament – as you are Tim – of the power of self care, which has included learning to put the right fuel in my body. I not only look younger than I feel I have in the past 10-15 years, I also feel more joyful, less stressed, less emotional, have more loving relationships ect than I ever have, and the true key for me here has been the marrying of self-care with self-love.
Love this Sue our bodies rusting from the inside – so true and the only ingredient to get rid of that rust is to Self love and self nurture. Not bought in a bottle or a can.
What a transformation Tim, your before and after photos confirm that we certainly can turn back the clock on health and ageing when we choose to take responsibility for how we live, and what we consume, including food, thoughts and feelings which can all be toxic to the body.
Having seen and Tim before and after and as he has shared the clock has certainly been turned back. But whats also deeply inspiring is the vitality that Tim brings. We often think that we are more vital and energised when we are younger but this post shows that the opposite can actually be true. What if everyone took this level of care in the way they looked after themselves and lived? The NHS would no longer be at breaking point, family life would be transformed so the family court system would be able to operate effectively. Just two things out of many millions that would change.
I don’t know so much about the fore gone conclusions about time travel, maybe it is possible due to the fact that time doesn’t make us travel anywhere other than around in circles back to the same spot over and over again. But what I do know for sure, is what’s stated here: “But is it possible to appear to slow down the ageing process by choosing to fuel and run our bodies in a loving manner, so we will look healthier and have more vitality? YES!”
Tim you look amazing in the picture what an amazing transformation you have going through, very inspiring!
It sure is Janina and it is a transformation when we make lifestyle choices that are caring and loving, it shows how powerful we are and not the victims we can feel with life at times.
This is such a gorgeous photo of you, Tim – we can feel the vitality and sense of fun that you live now, so different from ten years ago. Going back in time also means clearing all our old choices so they no longer weigh upon us, and we can live with a clarity not seen for centuries.
The body. Its our first home. The place where we live. The vehicle through which we express and feel. Unlike a car that we can replace, we don’t get a new one, so it has to last us our whole lifetime. It makes sense to me now that I should treat it with the utmost respect and care. This has not been an easy change to make, but the benefits of looking after my body are enormous. Thank you Universal Medicine and Serge Benhayon for reminding me of this important responsibility.
Your right Tim time travel is not possible, but with time we can change choices we have made in the past to affect our futures to have another outcome.
So simple, so true. You have shown us proof that time travel is indeed possible with a way of living and eating. It might not be the time travel that we first think if but it is indeed time travel in another great form.
In a sense – we could be a living and breathing time machine – for what is time exactly?
I know I can live in old habits that delay my evolution and living my future self – or I can make the choices to know my future self and live that now. For me, I waver between the two and the power, Love and stillness I hold in my future self is sometimes overwhelming that I revert back to the old ways to dumb and numb my light. In steadiness and being with the present the future is shown.
Beautifully said, I totally agree we can live repeating the past every single day, or live what the future offers us now, and it’s all simply a choice.
Very well said Rachael! Our future self is pure love, we are the ones resisting by choosing patterns and familiarity.
I love the analogy of a car representing our physical body Tim, I often see men who take such amazing care of their cars with no expense spared, the very best fuels, oils and polish’s and many loving dedicated hours of work. Yet the way they treat their bodies is in complete disregard, overeating, drinking lots of alcohol, smoking etc etc, with no awareness that the ‘fuel’ they feed their bodies with is causing many ‘mechanical’ problems.
The photos speak for themselves Tim, what a transformation, not only the weight loss, but the vitality, joy, presence and confidence that emanates from you.
I love the humour you bring to what is actually a very serious health problem when eating all of the wrong foods, treating the body with disrespect, especially as we are expecting it to work very hard for us day in and day out, and all the health issues which follow. Is it any wonder we numb ourselves to not feel all of that going on, but what you have shared here Tim is that life does not have to be numbed out by using the TV and DVD’s and other distractions and that there is a way to live which is far more purposeful, not forgetting the health benefits which naturally occur.
Tim, for me the real difference in a person when they start to make loving choices is in the vibrancy in their eyes. It’s fairly easy to look younger in a superficial way, some clever make up and a good set of clothes but the one thing that you simply can’t change from the outside is a persons eyes.
I was at a School reunion a couple of months ago and it was fascinating. We had all rowed at a very high level, and it was a particularly interesting cross section as most of the people there were still in good shape with just one or two over-weight. You might think that was a success story, but the thing I noticed was that everyone looked old… and there were a number of comments about how baby faced I was. As you say Tim, how we live, and what we consume naturally have a big impact on how we look – and why wouldn’t you look after yourself?
Indeed Simon. Listening to what our body really needs and changing our diet accordingly will bring amazing changes, like an increase in well-being and vitality that I would never have deemed possible for myself.
This made me think to how many athletes often look after a period of years of often very intense and physical training schedules. I used to admire their bodies in respect of the level of physical fitness, however having come to a new understanding and appreciation of true self-care, I can feel that pushing our bodies in this way is a long stretch from self care. The body never lies and hence why we often observe these very hard, old bodies as a result… Which as you say Simon is fascinating to observe.
Great sharing Simon, often with friends or people i see from the past i commonly get the comment ‘you haven’t changed at all’…in fact i have changed a lot by my lifestyle choices, which is about self responsibility and throw in some love where i have been building a loving relationship with myself that is naturally the shared with others, and I haven’t aged in the way i would have if i continued to make the choices that actually harmed me such as smoking…….BUT not only aged but very unwell!
Tim, I have had a similar experience with old friends seeing my Facebook picture and saying that I haven’t changed a bit. I may not have changed much on the outside but I know I have changed so much on the inside. The changes have happened slowly over time so sometimes like watching your kids grow you don’t notice it. I am starting to realise how important it is for us to appreciate the changes we have made and every step we take back to our divine selves.
Its all there in the photo, you barely look like the same person. The transformation is obvious for all to see.
Reading your words Tim I feel a sense of exactness and solidity. You have experienced this food merry go round and found something that fundamentally works for your body. It is beautiful to hear you write from this place and confirm how practical and sensible it is to just choose love as our way. What a brilliant mentor you must make at your work.
I’m not surprised Tim that your friend focused on the alcohol. Drinking alcohol is such a big part of our society and often people find it inconceivable that we can live life without it. Although there is much research quoted stating that alcohol is good for us, there is the contra evidence that it is a proven poison. We all know it’s not life enhancing and age defying, as we only need to take the next day hangovers as our proof.
Tim, what an awesome sharing. Even if I made similar diet changes like you are sharing inspires me to be even more gentle with myself during taking meals, not to rush or squeeze them in, but enjoy them and take the time for eating., actuelly creating space and stop with the rush I am sometimes in. Thank you..
Thank you Tim. Here is proof again that loving and taking care of our body brings health, clarity of thought, energy and love that is reflected all around us is no many diverse ways.
Tim, this is so beautiful what you are sharing and the results speak for themselves. You bring an opportunity for true and loving change for so many, by expressing your lived experience which can certainly be felt so thank-you.
I agree Julie and it shows how powerful we are and not victims to life.
At some point in time we start putting ‘food’ into our mouths that actually isn’t real food. So much is processed, sugarised, salted, coloured, enhanced or just plainly adulterated and it is normal to buy it and eat it without any inkling that it is harmful.
I totally agree Matthew, you only have to walk around the supermarket to see all the food that isn’t actually food. The great concern, as you have stated, is that people think this processed and adulterated food is normal, and are either unaware, or don’t care, as some prefer the convenience of theses foods, of the damage they are doing to themselves on many levels.
I know matthew brown, and the supermarkets are chock-a-block with aisle upon aisle of such food options. At some point in time I hope to see nothing but the perfect healthy ‘fuel’ on our supermarket shelves.
Exactly Mathew and like the car analogy we wouldn’t put diesel in a car that is run on unleaded fuel, but we will eat foods that might as well be the wrong fuel. There foods do nothing for our body except exhaust it, make it sick etc, the only satisfaction it brings to quench the craving for sugar etc and titillate the palate – all only for a fleeting moment and then the cycle starts again!
The celebration I am enjoying from this blog includes how so many people are celebrating with you Tim, in a beautiful show of selflessness. When a brother succeeds in embracing the love within and embodying it as a lasting replacement of the excess weight and bloating, it is indeed something to celebrate.
Great story Tim, it all makes so much sense, you’re a great inspiration for us all to take better care of ourselves and wow! -how simple it is to turn our lives around.
“I found it strange that his only response was about the alcohol so I presented to him the possibility that what we eat has a direct influence on how we look and that certain foods and drink can age us prematurely.”
Isn’t it amazing how we choose to hear what we want, how much we are willing to accept, I know when i came to the work of Universal Medicine i was very selective about what i was willing to hear, many buttons were being pressed because i could feel that much of the way i was choosing to live was not truly supporting me.
Men and women spend extraordinary amounts of money to become something they think they are not. How many times have we heard the saying “you are what you eat” and those are our choices. Choices are free and everyone is amazing and yes we can travel back in time if we choose.
Love is the only consistent way to look AND feel younger, and it’s free! The wisest choice, Tim.
I like how you relate our body to a car, this makes it so obvious how strange it is to choose food that is not only not supporting us to the optimum, but even harming our bodies.
Yes Michael, we would never put the wrong fuel in our car as we know the consequences could be dire, but almost on a daily basis we knowingly make choices to consume food, thoughts and emotions which do not allow us, and our bodies, to live with true health, wellbeing, joy and presence.
To know that you will never go back to old ways not because you are driven by fear or will power but because you have done the work and you no longer live with the issues in your body – is offering people a profound and unique healing tool.
The results are evident from the photos Tim that the changes you have made to your diet do work, you look like a totally different person.
This is actually how it looks like if we are RETUNING to who we truly are. It looks like we are traveling in time, that time has not the effect of wearing off over time anymore as we where used to have as an image. It is possible to return to a original state of being that is independent of time when we are using time to its true meaning, as a marker in life to show how much we have involved or not. Allowing time to be linear in our lives does not give this opportunity to grow and evolve, but instead allows us to drop deeper and deeper in the misery of it, being in the illusion that we are evolving to a ‘better’ state of being. We only have to open our eyes to see that we are actually going nowhere and life is not anything better than yesterday or the year before. But when we look to the pictures of Tim… they show that there is another way, a way of living that has another relation with time than we where used to.
You are a living testament to the amazingness of Universal Medicine, Tim…very inspiring.
Just looking at the pictures, and knowing you as I do Tim… the changes have been profound. Quite apart from the weight loss it is the clarity in your eyes, and your face that speak more to me about how much more alive you look.
Yes, Matilda, Tim is a ‘living testament’ to Universal Medicine and an inspiration. He is such a gentle and lovely man and confirms our innate knowing that it is possible for us all to unfold and change in a way that allows us to be truly who we are in our essence.
Love this Tim – It still surprises me that sharing why we have shed those ‘years’ (of what we are not) the reactions to what we offer makes such an impact for those listening to our reasons – giving up alcohol, sugar, dairy etc. For me it was the same, observing others who had chosen to self love and self nurture again I wanted so much to have that for myself. To see someone else looking so amazing, walking/moving with such grace and a softness in their bodies. Yes I wanted to be like that but, first it was the hurdle of self doubt that I could ever achieve such a way of being and give up so much ‘comfort’. This I feel was only possible because of Universal Medicine and Serge Benhayon, what was and still is being presented offers that there is another way to live our lives through taking back responsibility for all of our choices. Like yourself Tim you are such an inspiring student of life – you just sparkle with joy at how you have turned your life around. The results are amazing for all to feel and see.
Even though the quality of the photos shown here are of a very different quality Tim, I can totally feel the difference in the person being photographed. There is no way I could recognise the two of you as being the same person. I can feel how you have changed in ways far and beyond your body shape! It is truly beautiful to know that you have taken responsibility for yourself as you have described. And time had nothing to do with it! Thank you.
What a transformation you have made Tim, I loved reading about your experiences.
The analogy of the car is very powerful, one that provides much food for thought!
Thank you for sharing your story and wisdom.
Tim you look like you are at least 10 years younger, you look absolutely great. I love your analogy of putting the correct fuel into your body like a car, we wouldn’t dream of getting to the fuel pump with a car, and filling it up with the wrong grade fuel, it wouldn’t make any sense, so why are we so easily tempted to do just that by the food we eat, we need to take responsibility for what we eat, and why we eat it.
Thank you Tim, amazing to see such an incredible life changing turn around, the photos tell the story.
What an amazing transformation Tim, it’s not just the significant amount of weight loss it is also the profound way in which you hold you self with your stance and the way your face has changed. It is like you have truly go back in time to a younger and more vital self. Beautiful.
I agree Ben, Tim’s transformation is truly amazing, and through his blog he has allowed us to see and feel that transformations like his are truly possible for anyone who takes responsibility for his life style and food choices.
When I look at your photos Tim, I’m blown away by what I see. Not just a man who has lost a lot of weight, there is so much more more. What I see in your before photo is a man heavily protected by the weight he was carrying and a feeling of ‘don’t come too close’. When I look your after photo…wow…I see a man yes, who is slim, but again so much more…I see you as open, warm and approachable. Your transformation is remarkable Tim and so much more than a weight loss success story.
Beautiful Tim what an inspiration you are! The choice of love and living this really does make a difference and you are living proof of this. A simply amazing transformation to who you really are, gorgeous, loving and glowing with health and vitality.
“Because of what I was eating I always felt lethargic; I just couldn’t be bothered to do anything except watch TV, which just compounded the issue. My thoughts were very foggy and only seemed to be about food and watching TV/DVD’s”, I can so relate to this feeling Tim, you hit it right on the nail.
I too have made many changes to my diet and continue to do so. What I have found challenging is people’s reaction to what I eat. Most people have got used to the fact that I do not drink alcohol but the elimination of foods or introducing new foods into my diet, a lot of people find it difficult to fathom. As I deepen my connection with self, the less I am concerned about others and their reaction. It is a process of deepening self-love, claiming in my body that the foods I eat, support and nourish my body.
I wonder if your friend Tim will be inspired to make a few lifestyle changes himself? Most of my old drinking buddies are for a start amazed that I kicked the booze, amazed at how good I look but are uninspired to make any changes themselves and prefer to make remarks like ‘he’s found God or something’ without asking me the truth of why I look so great, compared with how I did ten years ago. They just don’t seem to want to know.
I can see that jaw-dropping moment when your old friend realised who you were and had to take in the transformative miracle that stood before him. Your before and after photographs deliver the gold and I love the analogy of the car – total common sense. Thank you.
Thanks Tim, this line made me stop “We start to look a lot older than we actually are and then things start to break down.” – it made me realise that is we are all make the same choice, then we all will show similar signs of aging, so we will all think it is normal….but the reality the Universal Medicine, before and after project show is that it is not normal.
Your photos speak a million words Tim – not only the physical changes but from looking half alive and unhappy to sparkling off the page with joy and vitality – an enormous change and certainly something to celebrate and appreciate. Your friend will most likely be processing your profound transformation for some time to come!
I am processing the change in you.. images like these show the grace ageing can be – in the first photo you can feel the lethargy you described, and in the second photo you feel solid, confident and very sweet.
I love reading your articles Tim. And indeed, as Heather says, this so called miracle is available to everyone. There would be very few people in the world who do not deep down know what was nourishing for the body and what was not – every biscuit, cake, fast food, soft drink, alcohol is consumed with an absolute knowing it is not good fuel for the body; it’s a matter of pausing and making common sense choices.
It is amazing to see such a major transformation and one that has been sustained over a long period of time. It is well known that maintaining significant weight loss can be difficult, the tabloid magazines are regularly publishing stories of reality weight loss TV show contestants who have struggled to keep weight off – Universal Medicine is offering something different, transformations from the inside out.
Hear hear to your last sentence Nicole – “Universal Medicine is offering something different, transformations from the inside out.” Would it not be wonderful if meaningful others in ones lives would see that the changes that are so readily visible are not an “Universal Medicine THING” – as seemingly seen to be a disdainful situation, it seems to me that the truth of it is it’s about unravelling and discarding all that which we are not, and re-discovering the beautiful being that has always been there, just hidden by previous belief systems and the absorbed ills of ones choices.
Tim what a fantastic blog and a true inspiration for others . Not only do your friends see your super amazing changers you have make and live . They get to feel a beautiful man express what is possible , to make loving choices…. with how they too can fuel there body.
Well Tim Bowyer, you seem to have reversed the aging process so I’m going to do that too, self-care, true self-care, which for me means supporting myself every day with loving choices for me, truly works… therefore for me, turning 60 in three years time will be the new 50 ! 🙂
Tim you’ve certainly shown the world that is possible to reverse the ageing process, not necessarily in actual years, but in the fact that the pictures show just how vital, alive and healthy you now look compared to how you did in the past. No wonder it was hard for your friend to recognise you. It also shows that choosing to selectively take care of yourself is also not the answer and it was only with your complete, without perfection, willingness to address all areas has such an obvious – unignorable transformation taken place. From looking like life was a struggle to being fully engaged and enjoying life. What a difference – very inspiring.
Reading how you used to live had me pondering over how normal that is for most. A life of coffee, alcohol, fried foods, pastries and other sweets is very common. It is interesting however that when one’s health gets in the way of continuing to enjoy this diet instead of making changes to the diet the marvels of science are turned to, to provide us instead with the heartburn or indigestion tablets or insulin etc to help us soldier through. It’s pretty crazy when the alternative to medication, in the form of responsible living and listening to what the body truly wants, can bring so much vitality and health. Surely that’s a more appealing choice than managing symptoms.
Fifteen years is a very long time, at any stage in our life span the signs of getting and looking older are usually unavoidable. For your friend to exclaim you are looking younger now than 15 years earlier is shocking but the evidence is there in your photo. Your photo not only shows you as younger, healthier and happier, there is also a radiating joy and light-heartedness, a load dropped when the status quo for many people is to accumulate baggage with years lived -not drop it! We have all seen the weight loss commercials on TV where someone is bubbling with excitement about their weight loss and their new found zest for life but what you stand with today Tim is so much more than this. There is a wholesomeness to your story that is rare –its about true love.
What a transformation you have experienced Tim! I can understand why your friend didn’t recognize you! Come to think of it, I have had some people who have known me from the past and when I have bumped into them again, look at me with a similar quizzical look, not sure why they don’t quite recognize me. I know that during the time when I had my baby, my emotions overtook me and I definitely felt older, hagged and more checked out. In the livingness we take care of ourselves in every way: what we eat, how we exercise, how we care for ourselves and most importantly, the relationship we have with ourselves. The effect of this relationship shines through our bodies, as you have shown us so clearly through your before and after photos.
The establishment has been feeding us bullshit for too long, wheat, dairy, sugar, alcohol and tobacco were designed to supress our clairsentience and turn us into good little consumers.
Got it in one Nicholas Bason, how gullible are we. But not any more I feel, word is out and it is only a matter of time when the food industry will have to eat their words as the world cannot sustain the level of obesity, illness and disease not to mention us coming back to our clairsentience once again which is our normal and natural way of being.
The establishment… what a great way of putting it… The nudge here and there, the ‘should’s’ and ‘shouldn’t’ of what to eat, when to eat. Tim’s blog shows us that there is another way to live, eat and be responsible for our choices, instead of living under the influence of the establishment… Having the ability to question and go ‘against the tide’ is the first step to self empowerment and health
Yes Johanne, I agree, there is another way we can live, and that is taking responsibility for our own choices, which leads to self empowerment, and does away with the feeling of being under the influence of any other, the establishment included.
Well put Nicholas, you hit the nail right on the head. It is up to us to stop being consumers of things we know are so not good for us.
I love this Tim. It is so very inspiring.
It is not just physical weight and physical disease that so many of us suffer from, but the emotional weight of unresolved issues that we carry around which add to our ageing process and general vitality. What we choose to take on in the form of other people’s problems, accepting abuse in our relationships, holding back all that we are, living with jealousy etc. etc. etc. all are extremely common things that we carry around like an extra 20 pounds which we cannot see.
Choosing what we put into ourselves both in terms of food to fuel our body, but also what we hold onto in our minds is super important.
Naren you make some great points here it’s not just about food we eat, but also the emotional issues we hold on to. We need to be looking at everything to truly support the healing of our body.
Absolutely Naren, food has so often been the perfect solution to take me away from feeling the weight of all I’ve been unnecessarily carrying. Putting down those loads quite naturally inspire more of an awareness with what I then choose to put in.
I love your friends response to seeing you again. ‘You have gone back in time” is something that could be said to many students of the livingness who are choosing to live in a way that honours their body. The more they make self loving choices, the more the years seem to drop away. This is a grand testimony of a way of livingness that works.
This is an inspiring story Tim with the changes you have made to your lifestyle and as a result your changes in appearance. Through self love and care anything is possible. I too found it interesting how your friend mentioned the alcohol you had given up but nothing else. Sadly I feel this would be for most people as this is such an important thing in most people’s lives. Well done Tim.
Tim- I love your analogy of a car rusting and not functioning well depending on how you look after it – needing correct fuel etc to run. Our bodies, as you have beautifully shown from your blog and picture of you, that it can indeed become rejuvenated if we choose foods that truly nourish us and self loving ways in how we live.
Tim, it does not suprise me that your friend did a double take when he realised it was you. You presented to him in that split second the power we have to heal. What a statement you and your body are making.
An awesome statement indeed Vicky.
Tim, I congratulate you on your amazing transformation and the fact that you are sharing with us the joy and healing you have in your life now. It is no mean feat to lose weight and be consistent in keeping it off you have shown dedication and appreciation for the changes. Without the love and support of Universal Medicine in Serge Benhayon Presenting the Way of The Livingness and self nurturing ways most of us would still be unhealthy and unloving in our day to day living. Thank you Tim .
What a great before and after Tim and love the title ‘is time travel possible?’ From your photos it actually does look like you have manipulated time. But also from reading you blog, it has been through you taking deeper self responsibility and self care with all that you do and how you live. Very inspiring.
Yes, Fiona the car analogy really highlights our choices and what we do to ourselves.
In his very sweet way, Tim has shown how there is a freedom to choose self care in what ever manner we want, however, the consequences of each choice will always become our lived experience as our human frame deals with all of our daily choices that eventually build up to a life time of choosing-ways that can lead to a body that is overwhelmingly fatigued, or is deeply full of vitality.
‘Overwhelmingly fatigued or deeply full of vitality’…hmmmm…hard choice…NOT! And so cool to realise that the choice/power is in my hands. Thank you, Shami.
‘I feel that by putting the wrong fuel into our bodies it starts to rust from the inside.’ This is so true Tim, and its called ‘oxidative stress’, whereby we have too many free radicals in our body. This is what happens to an apple when it starts to go brown when cut open. Excessive alcohol consumption, along with eating too much, stress, eating sugar and refined carbohydrates, all contribute to excess free radicals, which then go on to contribute to disease, and have serious consequences for our health. Free radicals are also responsible for accelerating how our body ages.
As you found out Tim, ‘if something we put into our bodies can prematurely age us, then we can reverse that by not putting it into our bodies’.
Your amazing Tim and very inspiring. I am still trying to remove sugar from my diet. It definitely is not the fuel that you want in your car or your body – it makes the very thing go a little crazy!
Tim I always enjoy your writing. Simple and to the point with a lovely conspicuous meaning for the reader to take-away.
Awesome post Tim! What an inspirational story. It’s funny and I guess understandable how shocked people are when you tell them you don’t drink, not even on special occasions. You do look amazing, and the before and after photos are such proof that taking better care of yourself is well worth the effort, to be able to have the vitality you have now is nothing short of awesome!
Tim, I love what you write and I love how you write! In Germany there is a saying: ‘You are what you eat.’ Which actually means what you have described about your life and the changes you have made. Fabulous you look now compared to how you looked a few years ago. And yes, if a person needs an analogy what bad fuel does to our bodies, the car is perfect to show it.
An amazing blog and the change is you is astounding Tim! A few changes to the diet and how each day is lived has an obvious affect on your health and the body.
You are a living proof of how different food changes can change your whole life! Amazing changes and the cool thing is, you didn´t change your food behaviours to look younger, it was just the positive side effect.
Steffi great point you make by changing the way we eat does have positive side effects, like change in weight, change in energy in the body, change in physical mobility, change in vitality. There are so many positive side affects by changing what we eat and the way we eat.
Your personal development is very inspiring Tim and I like your analogy of the car and the body. It makes so much sense – depending on the fuel we shine more and more or we harm ourselves – the light goes off. The change between the 2 photos is really huge, I love it.
I love the analogy of the car Tim, and the amazing changes yo have experienced are a testament to the choices you have made and “…choosing to fuel and run our bodies in a loving manner…”
Yes just lovely – “…choosing to fuel and run our bodies in a loving manner…” – makes all the difference and the body will respond with such grace and yumminess.
Tim, Your picture is amazing and says it all……until I saw you face to face at an event last night and Wow! – there are even more changes.
You look younger and more harmoniously ‘living in your own skin’ every time I see you! How amazing it is that is from simply listening to your body and feeding it with the true fuel it requires you have changed so much – how inspiring this is as it it possible for everyone without all the self defeating continual struggle with the concept of dieting.
I agree Stephanie, the changes from when I first met Tim, over 15 years ago, whilst still in the midst of spiritual pursuits, to seeing him at an event a couple of days ago is remarkable and ever expanding. Definitely a wow.
You have shown the proof is in the pudding Tim, that we are not prisoners of our past choices. You and many others are coming to realize and feel what really is in, what we put in our body and how we have cared, or not cared for it in the past. We can all turn back the clock; it is just a choice away.
True Steve, though it seems to be a miracle how Tim has changed his life and his body appearance – actually it was his awareness, choices and commitment to do so. This clearly shows ‘we are not prisoner of our past choices’ and we have the key for our prison door.
Well said, Steve – “we are not prisoners of our past choices”. This blog really highlights that we really can turn our lives around if we take care and are present with our choices today.
I like that too Steve – that we are not prisoners of our past choices. We can choose anew any moment at any time – and once different choices made and effects felt, the choosing to a more healthy and vital lifestyle will get easier and easier.
Tim, thank you for presenting that it is entirely possible to make different choices and turn your whole experience of life around. This is inspiring for us all and very confirming: that our bodies respond beautifully to loving choices.
Tim, your health and lifestyle turn around is a revelation thats nothing short of revolutionary!
Tim, the pictures say it all and tells everyone that it is possible to slow down or even reverse the ageing process. We don’t need time travel when we have the power to make such remarkable changes ourselves by making loving choices as you have done.
Tim, you are living proof of the difference that our choices make. This is so empowering because really our life and health is in our own hands.
Exactly, Tim your blog completely shows that simply through changing our choices we can change our health and well-being. It’s wonderful to have it do clearly spelled out that the power of change is 1 billion percent in our own hands.
Yes, Meg, it’s so much more empowering when we take responsibility for our own health and don’t blame it on DNA. I have learnt the hard way that my body is always seeking to tell me the truth as I have not been willing to feel the messages it was sending. I ignored the messenger – and then wondered why I didn’t feel great. I am slowly and surely building a new and forever evolving relationship with my body. As you say all the answers to life are in our own hands.
You look amazing Tim, the joy from within lights up your face.. Its so great when we start listening to our bodies and putting the right “fuel” in. Inspirational.
I have found that mastering the fact that I am not the slave to time to be one of the most freeing aspects of being a student of Universal Medicine. The whole idea of time racing away from us, or running out exacerbates stress and anxiety which don’t do us any favours in the ageing stakes.
This makes so much sense it is almost crazy that you have to write about it. If we don’t look after our body, we age faster and become unhealthy. Luckily as Tim has shown, we can always turn around our choices and turn back the clock.
So many movies have explored time and how it is more a matter of perception than reality. However none have come close to explaining time and the illusionary relationship we have with it like Serge Benhayon. The way we live and relate to time is one of the greatest drains on our energy.
Totally against the general trend toward ill-health and bucking the idea of resignation toward ageing that we often suffer. Tim Bowyer you provide all the evidence of a life well lived. An inspiration indeed.
It sad indeed when the general trend is towards ill-heath. This is clearly showing us all that how we are living is not working, and then Universal Medicine enters the world and shows us how to be truly healthy.
So true Helen, Tim is living proof that ageing need not be a one-way street to ill-health, and that by making loving choices about what to put into our body and how we live (drive it) each day…it shows on the outside. No amount of plastic surgery or rigorous exercise to delay the ageing process can result in the vitality that Tim is clearly showing us is possible through a life lived well.
This is a brilliant sharing Tim, I love the car analogy, so simple yet so true. I even notice that sometimes we take greater care of our cars than we do of our bodies. We are much more discerning of the type of petrol, oil and etc we put into our cars, but often not so much re what fuel we put in our own bodies. I mean if a car ran out of fuel you wouldn’t fill it with coke, yet when our bodies run out of fuel we often go for the easy sugar energy hit, which makes sense in the short term but not so much in the long. You are a living testimony to the benefits of caring for self. Thank you for sharing.
So true, Caroline- I often saw people caring for their car like a baby but treating themselves like an enemy. Spending thousands of euro for their car, but if it comes to pay for good food or doing something nurturing like going in a SPA or buying some cosy good quality clothes there are too tight for it. Crazy ….
The madness of this: taking more care of our cars than ourselves – it is something that we will be incredulous about one day…
I love that you have share your story Tim. It will be an inspiration to so many people. You prove that it is possible to turn your life around and improve your health by doing so. It is a much needed sharing. Thank you.
Tim Bowyer i am forever inspired by the changes you have implemented and the committed way you now live.
Your clarity and purpose shines through you – in word and image.
Beautifully said Lucinda and I absolutely agree. Tim is an inspiration to many, many people and the photo’s say it all!
Yes, I completely agree Lucinda & Caroline. Tim is a shining example for us all.
“It just makes sense that if something we put into our bodies can prematurely age us, then we can reverse that by not putting it into our bodies, something which I have experienced, all without a time capsule in sight!!” So true Tim and not only a time capsule in sight, but all those capsules and pills and creams that we use hoping to stop the ageing process, without looking at our lifestyle and all the food and drinks we consume that are actually poisoning our bodies and accelerating the ageing process.
Tim I would add that the choices that you have made re food and drink have had an amazing affect on your body along with the choice to love yourself more deeply giving you the opportunity to continue to make choices that will support you more and more.
You’re right, Marika, it is not rocket science to ensure we put the right fuel in the car, and yet when this refers to our own bodies we slip up. So do we need educating from a young age – on how to connect to what our body needs, and to nourish it with suitable foods, to not poison it with negative thoughts and emotions? This to me feels like a good starting point for life education, how to be responsible for ourselves in every aspect of our day.
Thanks Tim – I had a little laugh to myself picturing the exchange between you and your friend. But seriously, your blog simply and clearly sets out the changes that are possible through the power of responsibily committing to self.
I love how you said this Helen: “…the power of responsibility committing to self.” This is a great key to hold, it opens the door to that commitment and the changes are just awesome when this commitment is held in the highest regard with no compromise.
Love it, love it, love it Tim. What a difference and an amazing sharing. How cool that your friend asked such a question. Just goes to show that our choices and living way makes a huge difference.
Looking mighty fine Tim. Such a lovely writing style and such a great person to be sharing what you have done, because YOU have done it, lived it and are a testimony to your choices.
What awesome results you have had Tim from choosing to truly look after your body and be discerning of what you put into your body and how you treat it. It makes so much sense really, as we usually make sure our cars are given what they need to run so our bodies are no different and definitely deserve our loving care and attention, after all, they go with us everywhere we do.
That’s a great point Julie. There is no escaping our bodies, it’s the one thing you can’t decide to leave at home one day because you can’t be bothered dragging it around, so it makes sense to care for it and actually enjoy it rather than see it as a burden.
I like the point that our bodies are the one thing we cannot leave the house without, so it makes total sense to take the utmost care of them so we can fully enjoy whatever the day brings.
When I put the wrong fuel in my body my body knows it and it communicates to me loud and clear the key is whether I listen.
Tim, what you have offered your friend is profound! He clocked every bit of the way you live; your body says it all. And the car analogy is perfect. When our car is in great shape, vis a vis our body of course we want to give someone a lift or share the joy of it’s quality. I loved your sharing Tim, thank you.
Great sharing Tim. However I would also add that it is not just the diet that leads to these physical changes, but equally our choice to open up to our divine connection. When we live life in reaction or by closing ourselves down to all that is around us, the body ages rapidly. Of course, we observe this to be normal, and so generally we do not question it. But I have watched numerous students of Universal Medicine over the years (myself and my wife included) change for the better, and I have seen how being open to the world changes the way we look. Our eyes sparkle, the face becomes full. Lines of weariness disappear, and for some we shed weight that was our way of holding onto the traumas of the past. The fact is that without connection, we are nothing, and it is no wonder then that we allow ourselves to eat and live in a way that is dishonouring of our body and our being when we have forgotten who we are. But re-connect to the love that surrounds us, and suddenly food, and all of life has a different meaning and context, and the body responds accordingly
Yes Adam, emotions, attitudes and beliefs definitely play a huge part in the premature ageing process.
Absolutely – so many things contribute to premature ageing both internally and externally, emotions and reactions is a huge one, also your mind never ever switching off. I remember getting to about 25 and thinking – I feel old! Because my mind and body had been on a constant high stress racetrack for 10 years… Definitely not a healthy way to live, but a way that is totally considered normal.
Yes, Meg, I know at times I feel ancient and that is only because I have been hanging on so tightly to the past and not allowing the future to come towards me. What is this illusion that means so many are dependent on ‘on a constant high stress racetrack’ when in our essence we know that we are enough just ‘being’?
I know that feeling, I find that ancient feeling can come in two forms, that my body feels older than it is, or sometimes I feel ancient in an amazing way, when I connect to everything I know and I feel beautifully older than my time, or rather I feel older than my body.
Tim when i look at these pictures again, they just are so clear and it’s astounding to see in the second one how you are living the future now through having made different choices, and contrasted with the prior life’s dullness or misery living stuck in the past. When we deal with our hurts, the natural beauty and vitality can be allowed to blossom. Wow. Totally worth doing.
You are a walking, talking, breathing miracle Tim!
And what an inspiration to the world and us all. Not only the changes but the fact that you can so eloquently describe how what you were eating and drinking had such profound a effect on what you did, and then what you did then had such a profound effect on what you ate and drink – the misery merry-go-round.
Thank you for sharing yourself with us.
Your right about the merry-go-round Alison. Its amazing how we consume life to the fullest and expand only on the outside. But when we rediscover what is truly inside of each and every one of us.., our outer shell diminishes and our love that was hidden expands larger than your shadow that is cast by the rising sun
Our body is our vehicle here on earth and there are only to types of fuel, the what is: love and the what is not: not love, but emotions, drama, issues, etc. Tim you are such a great testimony of what choosing love truly means and that it is possible for everybody. Thank you for sharing!!
This is a real gem Tim, I have seen the wonderful change and the clocks seemingly go back in the ten years or so that I have known you. It has been a real pleasure seeing you grow as a person an shrink in the waist line.
Looking and feeling younger as we get older – yep a walking miracle I say and what I love about your story Tim is you made simple lifestyle choices and changes to better care for yourself. It’s not rocket science and you are a great example of what is possible when we make life about self-love and self-care. Thank you for sharing your story which will inspire so many.
This is so true Marika, ‘It’s not rocket science and you are a great example of what is possible when we make life about self-love and self-care’. I love the simplicity of Tim’s article, it so common sense, nothing ‘out there’ about it, just taking care of himself, that is why it is so inspiring to read, it shows that anyone can turn their lives around and that as you say Marika it is not ‘rocket science’.
I agree Marika through loving choices with the way we live health and vitality return and ageing reverses. Sounds and looks good to me.
It is no rocket science at all and the truth is, we ALL know. Yet making the choices and starting to live it, that is something different.
Great point Monica – isn’t it absurd that many take better care of their car than they do their bodies? That just doesn’t make sense to me…
Tim you are living testimony of what making loving choices looks like. It really is so very simple as you shared, yet equally astounding that what we choose as our fuel determines our bodies performance.
Love it Giselle, “Choosing our fuel chooses our body performance”. Begs the question, if this is such a simple science, is it possible we deliberately set ourselves up to under perform and if so Why? I remember a quote somewhere, re our greatest fear is not of getting it wrong but of being great. Something to consider next time we knowingly eat or do something we know is not good for us, yet we do it anyway. Once again great blog Tim, thank you.
Great question Caroline, it would seem we’re sooner more comfortable treating ourselves as less than we are living our greatness. This really makes no sense considering the divine love we’re from. Beautiful it is to have truly great stories such as Tim’s proving otherwise.
Tim your transformation is quite incredible. Thanks for sharing your journey. It is a great analogy you use with the fuel and car and you are living proof that the fuel we use in our bodies has an effect on our health, vitality, appearance, and ageing.
Agreed Annie, whoever said you are what you eat was pretty jolly close!
Thank you Tim for sharing your amazing story and inspiring others to FEEL that they can also make changes just by choosing to love their ‘vehicle’.
Loving our vehicle and surrendering to the upgrade. 🙂
You said it is a “possibility that what we eat has a direct influence on how we look and that certain foods and drink can age us prematurely”. It is “possible then, if we don’t lovingly take care of our bodies and really look at what fuel we put into it, that our bodies will go through the same process?”
From your pictures it looks like you have proved this question right Tim.
Yes it’s no wonder your friend could not recognise you. We expect people to age a certain way but don’t always put two and two together: how we live, what we run our bodies on – sugar, anxiety etc or real respect for our bodies. So I’ve no doubt your friend who knew you when you were drinking, eating all that can be fried expected you to age a certain way. But when you changed how you live this put less strain on your body and it doesn’t age so much. A real example for everyone you meet. Awesome!
Looking great Tim! What a great relateable blog – the simple choices of not eating certain foods.
A classic Tim – I’ve also had that experience of catching up with people who haven’t seen me in quite a while, and watching the jaws hit the ground! Then everyone asking me what I’ve been doing to appear to have not aged since they last saw me several years before, while they had aged out of proportion to the time elapsed. I felt like Rip Van Winkle! Choices, choices, amazing the difference they make!
It’s curious how many people are happy to accept that you don’t eat certain foods, but when they find out you don’t drink alcohol, it causes more heads to turn and lots of further questioning. It’s been my experience that people can’t get their heads round the idea, and I’ve been asked how do I enjoy myself if I don’t drink. I am delighted I no longer drink. No more days lost to hangovers or hours lost where I have no memory of what I was doing. I get to experience more of my life.
‘But is it possible to appear to slow down the aging process by choosing to fuel and run our bodies in a loving manner, so we will look healthier and have more vitality? YES!” I absolutely agree with your ‘yes’ here Tim and you are the living proof. The same has happened for me. I look amazing for my age, and I feel so much better for cutting out the same foods you did.
Tim I love the simplicity and common sense in your blogs. Like you share there are things that we would never do to our cars- like pour in the wrong fuel yet we have no issue doing this with our bodies. We really need to question where intelligence comes into this, someone who has all the medical training and understanding of the body can live in a way where they do not put into their body the right fuels- why?
How does this happen? We really need to question this and look deeper for answers to the many ills we experience as a society.
Thank you Tim. With the obesity epidemic we are facing now isn’t it time that researchers started to study the lives of people like yourself who are bucking the trend. There is much for them to learn.
Yes, I agree Elizabeth there is so much about Tim’s story that Bucks the trend.
Absolutely Elizabeth. The improvements to my health as a student of The Way of The Livingness have been profound. As I near 50 my vitality and wellbeing are increasing, my lower back pain is gone, anxiety a thing of the past – and I have more energy at work than I did in my twenties! Worth studying.
Well said Elizabeth, you would think that stories like Tim’s would be welcomed with open arms by researchers. Tim offers answers that many people could benefit from.
Agreed Elizabeth there is much to be learnt from such a simple observation. Let’s get back to how science use to be – a philosophical journey of observation, truly felt and discerned from ones body. Tim you are living proof how how the power of observation is the greatest science there is.
Absolutely Elizabeth! What an obvious thing to do. Sometimes it just feel too blatantly easy, yet we always opt for the difficult way round. Imagine if a few case studies like yours Tim was out there proving through a lived experience that taking care of oneself is in fact a sustainable way of life.
It is interesting – lots of people know that what we eat affects us. What most of us don’t seem to know or want to know is how much what we eat and drink affects us. We hide that knowledge from ourselves because we feel there is no alternative.
Hi Tim,
Everything that you share about how we are to fuel our bodies and how this is reflected in how we look and more importantly feel is so true, and your story is a great testament and inspiration for many. Thank you for sharing your turnaround with us.
An excellent blog Tim – I love the simple way you have described the consequense of the choices we make, and that this does not just affect you but everyone equally. The ability to see beyond ourselves is to take true responsibility for what we contribute in this world.
I love Eva how you say – the ability to see beyond ourselves.
Fantastic blog and so simply shared. We have the choice to change what we put in our body, if we look after it with the nutritious food and drinks then the healthier our body will be and our ageing process will slow down. If we continue to put foods that are not supporting our body, we will age quicker and bring on illness and disease.
Yep, just as simple as that, and everyone can choose which way it’s gonna be for them. I know my choice …
Wow- Tim what an amazing positive transformation you have experienced through more loving choices re diet, lifestyle. Your photo says it all – Your face is beaming and you look like you are indeed enjoying life.
You have shown that it is indeed possible to feel and look 10 yrs younger, without the need for surgery or pills.
Now then, no time traveling…but anyway I did ask myself: would it be enough to ‘just be younger’ (again)? All the movies I know which grab this topic so far (and there are many) include a learning, a development from this ‘second chance’. Now, can it be that if we chose the learning, the development without the (time traveling factor) – we get more time given?
I can join you Tim, as I have lost 40kg and a lot of other ‘old stuff’ like behaviors, beliefes, illnesses and hurts while participating in Universal Medicine courses that have changed my life as I make more loving choices. And I feel like I have got more time given. Without Universal Medicine and Serge Benhayon I am sure I would be dead or near by and now. I am a vital and joyful alive person who is an active member of the community, inspiring others for a more healthier life-style. And I guess I’ve got this time-gift not out of purpose – I’ve got it to share and I’ve got to share the love I have experienced and claimed as my own as well. So the question for me now is not ‘how to get more time (for me)’ – but ‘how do we use the time we have given (for us)’?
Tim I am amazed your friend even recognised you as you have changed so much. I recently ran into a friend I knew 25 years ago. We were chatting to each other over the course of the one-day workshop and I kept feeling something was familiar about him. It took till the end of the day and we just about simultaneously realized our connection. He did not recognize me at first because I looked so much younger and more beautiful. I did not recognize him because he looked so much older and so unhealthy. We had made very different choices over the years and it was reflected back in how we looked and felt to each other. He was very inspired by the changes I had made.
Your sharing of your experience here Tim just goes to show how taking responsibility for how we ‘fuel our bodies’ can have a huge impact upon our well being and health. This is huge for global medical organisations to take note of. I know I have experienced much improved health and vitality since making more responsible food and drink choices.
Looking at the 2 photos of you here Tim the change is palpable, changing from someone who appeared quite sad to some one who now emanates joy and vitality. Great choices I say.
I love the fact that it is possible to go back in time and de-age by 10 years or so simply by making consistent choices to deeply care for the body. This goes against the current trend of illness and disease, and completely challenges the ‘anti-aging’ consciousness. Well done Tim!
I absolutely agree, I celebrate the choices I make to care for my body “The choices I have made have had a profound effect on my life and I know I will never go back to my old ways.” Making choices to care for myself has absolutely turned my life around, I feel younger and more healthy in body and mind than I did at 30 and I am now 41 years old. I can feel wrinkles coming because there is no doubt I am ageing but the vitality and true joy I feel from living in my body and feeling more myself is something I have not enjoyed since childhood.
Thank you, Tim. I feel the car is a very effective analogy, because it makes so much sense to look after it, not consciously filling it with fuel that will harm it and ultimately shorten its lifespan. It is with great arrogance that we neglect and abuse our bodies, and then when the signs of strain in the body become obvious we blame various external factors and look to the medical profession to sort us out. This is a serious problem for our society, while we allow each other to remain unaccountable for our choices.
What an amazing transformation, you have done what many wish to do – lose weight and turn back the clock on their bodies and their energy levels. And yet what you have shared is that you can turn back the clock till you take responsibility for the way you have been living and treating your body that has prematurely aged it inside and out. Only then will the return process begin.
Awesome Tim! I liked the analogy of the car and our body- very clear and easy to understand and get. What we put in and how we treat ourselves has a profound effect on our bodies and health. It seems like a no brainer to me now, but before universal medicine and others examples I didn’t put two and two together.
Your gorgeousness shines through every word of they blog Tim and your before and after photos are absolutely incredible. People would pay millions for a pill that gave them these types of results and yet the secret to true beauty and vitality is actually very simple and accessible. Simply take responsibility for our bodies and treat them with love and respect.
That is true Leonne, people always look for a quick fix, one that doesn’t change their ‘comfy’ lifestyle too much. But as you say it is all about loving and respecting our bodies and listening to what it communicates to you.
Tim, these photo’s of you are incredible, you look and feel like a different person in the second photo, you look so well, you look more than 10 years younger and there is a lightness and joy that can be felt – what an amazing transformation.
What you share here Tim inspires me to bring greater attention to the quality of what I put in my body. The analogy you present of the car, makes me consider that before food or drink, the quality of energy I choose to fuel me is really the key.
Love how you are taking it deeper Joseph. The quality of the energy that fuels the thoughts that feeds the body.
Gorgeous Tim, your pictures tell the story. It makes absolute sense that if we take care of ourselves with the food we eat and the lifestyle we have that we are going to look and feel better. It’s surprising really that so many people don’t realise that it is that simple. Thanks Tim for being living proof of this.
I love how you have likened our bodies to our car and the similarities in how we care for our vehicle and how our vehicle (car and body) responds to that care.
The changes that you have made not only in your physical appearance but in your vitality and look on life is amazing. You are an inspiration Tim.
Constantly refining our diet is like reading in a never-ending book. It is an absolutely fascinating scientific process and can actually be lots of fun, if done without concepts and ideals.
This is an amazing transformation Tim and you definitely have a gorgeous glow that wasn’t evident before. What we ingest can just simply be poisonous to our systems. I’ve also felt the vast changes in my body since giving up alcohol, cigarettes and certain foods which I am refining all the time as my body feels so much more clear without all the toxins and the heavy foods I once ate. It’s like my body can breathe again. Just as important as the choice not to ingest these things is the understanding of why I chose them in the first place.
Its so true and quite ridiculous Monica when you look at it like that. I would be like ‘oh my gosh, what have I done!’ if I put the wrong fuel in my car… then all the extra energy it takes to get the fuel removed and changed would be like a big drain, YET, that is what it feels like when we eat or drink something that is just as harming to our body as the wrong fuel is to a car… it takes so much more effort and energy to get through the day.
Wow Tim, your before and after photos speak volumes of what ‘fuel’ and choices you are making for your body. The changes you made are so simple and makes so much sense yet are incredibly profound. Stopping and giving yourself a moment to question how and why you were living in the way you were is something to appreciate in itself, as often we don’t give ourselves that stop. Your face now shines with such a glow and vitality.
What we eat is what we are – on a very plain physical level.
If we eat according to what our bodies need and not just according to what we might fancy, our bodies will reflect that level of love and care by simply radiating health and well-being.
I love it time travel with no capsules needed – as you say it makes perfect sense that we can reverse some of the aging process by altering what we put into our bodies – cause and effect.
It is great how you felt the impact that eating certain foods was having on your body Tim through the bloating etc. It can be seemingly so easy to subscribe to a way of living or eating that actually does not feel right in our bodies, but we accept that it is the way it is. By listening to our bodies, honouring what we feel and living from this, we open ourselves up to the possibility that there is more to life than what we have been “fed”.
Congratulations on your loving choices Tim. You look fantastic, indeed it seems you have gone back in time if the photos are any indication. What seems more important here though is the quality with how you write. Through your writing I can feel your vitality, clarity and love.
How mind blowing for your friend, Tim. Firstly to not recognise you and then to get so stuck on the thought of having no alcohol. I bet you gave him some food for thought to take home even if it was that internal struggle within himself trying to fathom a life without alcohol. I would say this is a seed to be well planted.
I have observed that for many it is not new that something is bad for them but the ability to make a different choice is the big difference, so what happens? One of the biggest factors in allowing me to make different choices was when I discovered the difference between my spirit and my Soul as presented by Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine (http://www.unimedliving.com/unimedpedia/word-index/unimedpedia-spirit.html) Once I got to see more clearly the tricky nature of my spirit that was indulging in making harmful choices at the expense of my body, I started to have more freedom to make a different choice. Another big factor that helped me to make different choices was the reflection in seeing many other people who had already made different choices and were living a different way. Serge Benhayon was my first role model in this. I got to see what it looks and feels like when you make those different choices and all the details and mechanisms of doing so. As I started to make different choices I found it incredibly empowering and each loving choice set me up for the next loving choice just as each harmful choice does likewise.
This blog got me pondering because what you say makes so much sense Tim. In fact everyone knows (whether they admit it or not) that certain food, drink, cigarettes etc harms them but that does not stop them from eating, drinking or smoking. So it is not only the awareness of this that makes the difference but there is something else going on here. Hundreds, probably thousands of people have had the same going back in time experience as you have since coming to Universal Medicine as can be seen in the eyes of just a few more examples here: http://www.unimedliving.com/the-livingness/before-and-after/the-before-after-photo-diary/the-before-after-project.html – I will continue my ponder!
Such a great analogy between a car and our body Tim you are living proof that the right fuel in our bodies leaves us glowing and youthfull.
Your pictures say it all here,Tim. In confirmation of your presentation on how what we eat affects the vitality and health status of our bodies, I overheard this conversation yesterday at the celebration of my friend’s 100th birthday. He was speaking with a younger man, 90 years of age, and they were discussing the reasons for their healthy longevity. My centenarian friend shared that he attributed his healthy longevity to his focus on eating only in moderation for the entire course of his life. He never left the table feeling full, but always feeling as though there was room for more food. His words were, ” I believe that eating too much is worse than not eating at all.” His 90 year old friend commented, ” Well…you have the evidence for that.”
It was truly a joy and an honour to listen in on 190 years of experience sharing the reasons behind their vitality – both men are still active serving members of their community.
Tim,
Your blog and your pictures spell out an amazing transformation.
And a really powerful example of how simple, natural and wonderful things can be with the will to really take care of us.
Isn’t it astounding the reaction people can have when they find out that you don’t drink alcohol at all? It’s a show to them. That makes me wonder- how on earth have we ended up around the world with drinking something that is so bad for us, physically, emotionally and socially as our standard way of living everyday?
That’s crazy. And your change in you life is a shining example of what we are missing out on, and how we could change the way the world is very very simply.
Thanks for your choices and thanks for your blog.
Good for you Tim. You do look fabulous, and the sparkle in your eye says it all. I look forward to the day when not drinking is quite common rather than a rare occurrence. In my opinion we have lost out on some precious and true connection with people because alcohol comes between us. I certainly never felt like the real me when I was drinking. And now that I no longer drink my relationships are so much deeper and honest. (and yes, I have to agree that most people don’t think I look anywhere near my true age).
Thank you for this profound sharing Tim. It is amazing how the body can repair itself when we stop assaulting it with Alcohol, overloading it with Emotions, and food for numbing rather than nutrition.
Awesome blog Tim and I love how you presented what you know to be true for you to your friend. The changes you have made are nothing short of remarkable and are an inspiration for everyone. Is time travel possible? Maybe not but turning back the clock certainly is!
Tom, your story is extraordinary and your pictures speak a gazillion words. The ageing process takes on an entirely different face and meaning when we take loving responsibility for our bodies and treat them — ourselves — trendy. And it’s such common sense — i loved what you said how if we eat the wrong foods etc our bodies start to rust on the inside. Very very true. We tend to respect this when it comes to our cars so how come we don’t with our own bodies?
It is great they way you compare something as simple as looking after a car to how we can look after our bodies. And it really is that simple! But the effects are profound which is evident in your photos. You really do look a lot younger Tim even if you haven’t travelled back in time. A beautiful display of the of how far a bit of self nurturing goes.
The fact that many of us choose not to fuel our bodies in the way we know we should exposes a deeper truth. We simply do not want to feel that we are not choosing love in our lives. That we have bought into one big huge lie, the illusion we have heavily invested in and to feel this is avoided at all costs, even at the cost of our health.
I love what you have shared Tim. We are clearly always and constantly affected but what we put in our bodies, the obvious ones that demonstrate this are drugs and alcohol. But foods and drinks also affect us, although seemingly not so obvious, but in truth still do. This I came to realise this when I eliminated foods from my diet that I sensed were dulling the way I felt and lived. The clarity I experienced in contrast after doing this, to the dullness, was so obvious that I could not return to consuming them again. You and your photos beautifully reflect, that through the self-loving choices you have made, how you now glow with health and vitality of who you are within. That within us all is a timeless and eternal essence that can be lived every day whenever we choose to. Thank you Tim for sharing what is possible when we choose to love, nuture and care for our bodies.
I love that you talk about food in relation to how it affects the way you live. Your writing is like a spark on the page, thank you Carola
Hello Tim Bowyer and this is a classic blog. I love your comparison with our bodies and our cars, this makes real sense. From the photos you certainly have ‘turned back the clock’ and will continue to do so by the sound of things. Thanks Tim.
Tim can I say you look totally amazing now, you can see and feel all this light shining out of you which is really gorgeous. The choices that you have been making are certainly agreeing with your body, I can feel a joy in you that is not present in the before photo. I bet you love life and love your job, I would love to hop on a bus that you drive down those busy streets of London, what a healing it would be!
Our bodies are so responsive to our love and care. Time travel may not be possible but we can live our future now by the choices we are making. I find your words here very inspiring, Tim, “My thoughts have a lot more clarity and are not just focused on me”. Thanks for sharing your inner transformation, which your outer simply confirms.
Yes, the idea that certain foods ( I call them blobby foods) keep us selfish is a very interesting one, isn’t it Victoria? That’s an entirely different way to look at nutrition.
Wow love that Victoria Picone, ‘our inner transformation, which our outer simply confirms’ – such simplicity of truth.
It is a wonderful confirmation of how you are living when an old friend is blown out by how well you look. The Way of the Livingness is a lifestyle that offers vitality, health and true well-being, and Tim you are clearly a reflection of this. Everyday you are inspiring those around you – even when it starts with jaw dropping disbelief from an old friend!
Jo I so agree _ I love the “jaw dropping disbelief”. Tom go and knock them in the aisles, that is I can feel the blessing all your passengers receive from your loving self honouring connection with yourself and them. Also travelling on the roads of London leaving a beautiful gentle imprint for the next drivers. Wow what you bring and reflect to humanity is very precious, thank you.
Your photos say it all Tim, just magic! So many people spend so much money on weight loss programs and pills and literally fight to keep the weight off, whereas you have found a very natural and sustainable way to look after you and your body through the foods you eat and have lost lots of weight at the same time! I would love to see this article in a Diet and Weight Loss magazine and your before and after photographs on the front cover!
Yes, these photos do say it all Shevon. Your change Tim is there for all to see so clearly. We all know that eating healthy is good for us, but sometimes due to our emotional state we ignore what we know is true and binge eat on junk and overeat. This is where Universal Medicine has made the most profound difference; because through the support of this most amazing organisation we can look underneath the emotions, heal them and the cravings for certain food and drink can go if we choose it. Once our self-regard and self-love increases it becomes impossible to abuse ourselves with food that does not support the body.
You make a good point here Shevon and one that I can relate to. Diets in the past have felt like a battle. I used to struggle to lose weight just to put it all back on again a short while afterwards. The way I was approaching my diets was all wrong. I would starve myself, then binge on my treat foods once the weight came off. It felt like punishment. I now see what I eat as a loving choice. A choice to respect my body with what I choose to put in it. I also check in regularly with how foods make me feel and I have over the years eliminated things that don’t feel good. This approach has been key in supporting me to sustain a diet that feels great for me and has enabled me to loose weight without trying or struggling, and stabilize at a point that is right for my body.
Yes I agree Shevon.
This is the kind of before and after story that should be in weight loss magazines. Supporting people to CHOOSE life not diet.
Tim, the joy in your eyes shares the truth of your tale. The choices you have made have undoubtedly made your car look incredible. It’s not rocket science it’s all common sense really, just as your analogy so clearly explains. Treat your car with love, respect and kindness. Feed it the right fuel to allow it to run at it’s full potential, keeping all parts clear to do the same. Take it to get looked at every now and then if its needs a little extra care.
Tim, your photo says it all. What an amazing turnaround you have made in your life by changing your diet and lovingly looking after yourself. As you say, you now look 10 years younger, at least, and you look as if you are so enjoying life now. You are a living example of what we are capable of when we come to understand our responsibility for looking after ourselves and connecting back to the divinity we come from. There is such a joy in your face now, beautiful.
What a wonderful blog Tim – thank you. You do look marvellous by the way and the difference in how you look in your photos is huge. You look imprisoned in your body in your before photo – heavy in body and in your being in it. In your more recent photo – wow, your smile says it all – you look vibrant, much lighter in your body and just a little cheeky. Great to see and thanks so much for sharing your inspirational story … so far.
Incredible Transformation Tim – to see in the before photo your lack of vitality, bloating, giving up and lack of True health in contrast to who you really are and have returned to in the after picture is astounding.
This is living evidence of the importance of listening to our body and tending to it with absolute Love and Care.
I love the way you said this so lovingly Deborah – “This is living evidence of the importance of listening to our body and tending to it with absolute Love and Care.” So true, and the love you have mentioned here I can feel in your expression.
Thank you Tim. This is a true health and vitality blog about how we can support our bodies to their natural state.
Your story is very inspiring, and I can’t even imagine coming out of eating and living in a way that is so comfortable, to then turning it all around and saying no to what is not loving. That is absolutely amazing – and your analogy to a car makes so much sense. We would not put the wrong fuel in our cars so why do we put it in our bodies? Thank you so much for sharing this.
Tim your very inspiring story is something that I have consistently seen with many Universal Medicine students. I have seen women in their 60’s 70’s and 80’s so are totally drop dead gorgeous, vital and very committed to life. Diet plays a very important part in how we care for ourselves, as does how we are in everything that we do. I can see that in your photo Tim a man who is very open to living life, very present and someone who is enjoying the life that you live rather than closed off and protected, quite distant and far away and very sad as your before image shows. I’d love to hear how your experience as a bus driver has changed too over this period of time.
I can second this Jen one billion per cent. I am consistently amazed at seeing how the students of Universal Medicine look younger and younger, and more and more vital and vibrant. Ageing has been a taboo subject in our society, as we age we lose value, we lose beauty etc etc. What we get back from society is a reflection of our self-worth diminishing with each year after a certain age that’s ‘off the shelf’.
The students of Universal Medicine are reversing this trend and cutting down this ill belief. We can all age with such beauty and grace when we choose to take responsibility for the bodies we are in.
Tim it is true people defy age when they take responsibility for what they eat, drink and the quality they live with.
Yes vanessamchardy, and if you add taking responsibility for every thought word and deed to your list the quality we can live with is truly does defy age, in fact I will go as far to say we can become ageless.
Wow Tim, there is no disputing the fact the difference the photos of you show, that the changes you have made to your diet and life have worked in supporting you to look more vital and healthy. I to have used the analogy between the way we are look after our cars, can be compared to how we treat ourselves, as a useful way in explaining the common sense approach it makes in choosing to care and nurture ourselves.
Yes Deidre its a great way to make us stop and think. Would we put the wrong fuel in our cars or not bother to have it serviced regularly and just run it into the ground? Most would not; so then we have to look at why we treat our bodies in a less respectful way?
Well done Tim,
In choosing to love and care for yourself and your body you are also sharing a much deeper truer quality of love with all those around you in reflection of who you are.
Tim thank you for confirming that our bodies are constantly responding to our food and lifestyle choices. Your pictures say it all…… before, the clock was set, and life was ticking away, the hands of time seemed to have a fast hold on you. Through your wise loving choices, after, it is obvious, the clock had slowed right down, time had relaxed its grip, and touched you with the same gentle care you afforded yourself, creating a picture of seeming timeless health and vitality. Perhaps we can’t ‘time travel’ but we can certainly turn back the clock to the point where time relative to the ageing process seems to stand still.
Brilliant blog Tim, I love your before and after photo. You look amazing! When people read your blog and look at your photo they are completely inspired. It is so true that what we choose to fuel our body really impacts on us physically and mentally. If we look after it by making loving choices, by listening to our body and take care of it, we will simply look and feel incredible. Our body is so precious but sadly most of us completely abuse and neglect. We can reverse this by choosing to make different choices. Universal Medicine have inspired so many people globally to make loving choices, just like you have Tim.
What I find amazing is that we have been so conditioned to accept drinking poison – whoops alcohol as the norm, that when someone chooses to not drink alcohol they stand out like a sore thumb – in truth like a beacon of light as in Tim, Serge Benhayons and many orhers case – showing us there is another way. One that is far more healthy and loving, which leaves us not feeling need to drink poison to numb whatever it is we don’t want to feel.
The weight loss is impressive Tim, but it is the sparkle in your eyes and your smile that has me smiling all over. You have not just given up some foods to “be healthy”. This is a story of time travel, back to a state of being you lived as a very little boy, and a story of all of our futures, when we live again in the most natural accord with our bodies. Can we travel in time? Well not in a Tardis! But when we listen to our bodies we free ourselves of its strangling grip. You have lived this Tim – the time past and the time future. Gorgeous to behold.
Another great blog Tim of the quality I know you for, how amazing is it that the average person on the street just cant imagine life without alcohol.
Hi Nicholas, it just goes to show the enormous hold alcohol has over the general population. I remember when I was young and I decided to give up alcohol the outcry from family and friends was incredible and quite shocking to me at the time. In fact my mother was the most upset. I can remember her saying in a hurtful way “so you are never going to drink champagne with me again?” I was shocked as I was a always an emotional mess after 2 ½ glasses of wine and often struggled with a three day headache after. I thought she would have been happy for me.
Yes, Kathleen, it’s hard to fathom that your mother was not happy for you but its possible that it was more to do with the daunting concept of her having to reflect on her choices. Drinking alone is not much fun as there is nothing to distract you from the fact that alcohol is just a mild poison designed to make your head spin, not that dissimilar to sniffing petrol for the intoxication of the fumes. Imagine a group of people sitting around a circle at every social event you went to sniffing petrol…. Alcohol is the same, we have just glamorised drinking as socially acceptable. While a huge population of the world is struggling to have clean water available so they can survive and the rest of us deliberately dehydrate ourselves with a mild poison every occasion we get and defend it to no end?
Wow Kathleen, I can imagine how devastating it would have been to hear that from your mother.
Tim, what a picture of a man you are! Glowing with health and vitality, not to mention the cheeky grin 🙂 Once more you have shown us that by cutting out foods that are not good for your body and truly looking after yourself you can reverse the aging process and throw away the pills. Well done Tim! If we all adopted this regime, not only would the world be a more healthy place it would save the National Health Service (NHS) a fortune…
It is not only the physical changes that notably make it appear you have gone back in time but also the genuine joy and lightness that is so strong in you that is rare to see at the age you currently are. It feels like there is also a process of not only physical ageing but also of reducing our light and joy and what we see in a person and their age is not only their physical appearance and living way but also their levels of vitality and joy. It just so happens humanity generally at the age you are at Tim experience much lower levels of love, joy and vitality than you currently do.
Brilliant point Joshua Campbell – the ageing process from what we ingest compounds the misery that we walk with every day – everything is heavy and difficult not light and joyful.
Great point Joshua. There is actually scientific evidence that links how happy/joyful you are with your biological age – when you are unhappy you tend not to look after yourself as well so this makes a lot of sense!
Tim, the analogy of the fuel to run the car is a brilliant way to look at the fuel we fill up our bodies with and how this affects the degree of maintenance and performance of both the car and our body.
Your before and after photos absolutely say it all, in full – how Universal Medicine presentations have given you the opportunity to change not only your lifestyle choices, but possibly your entire wardrobe as well!
The difference is profound.
Tim, what you share here is an important guide to self-care, which is the missing link in today’s health care. To be in dis-ease has become way too normal and is ignored by most of us, like struggling with your weight or not having clear thoughts and difficulties concentrated – all alarm signs that something is not quite right, but so many people put it off as, “that is just how it is” and don’t make the effort to look deeper into the life-style choices that are required.
Yes Judith.
Why do people want to loose weight?
It feels like everyone is looking for the ‘quick fix’ to weight loss rather than the choice to take responsibility for our lives and take it from there. Self care is key when it comes to true change.
You raise an important point Sandra that the choices that our minds come up with in terms of food is not always about what is nourishing or what our bodies really need. Rather it might be a taste experience, reward or relief from something we don’t want to feel by dulling or stimulating us. What in fact if we were to feel what our body really needs rather than eating too much or certain foods that we don’t need or can’t digest or assimilate well.
Mmm very true, I remember the first time I heard the notion of “conscious presence” and I finally realised why I was not able to concentrate. Raising our awareness helps to understand all of these.
I agree Mary, this is science coming alive. Who can argue with this visible evidence?
Tim, what you share is simple, and so effective! The pictures say it all really, what an amazing change you have undergone! I have made the same changes for myself and I love the way I feel these days as compared to the heaviness and constant bloating and indigestion I used to suffer as well. And this is only the surface level of how amazing I feel; I feel more love and appreciation for life and people in general.
You are such an inspiration Tim – It is very true many are more prepared to check the engines of their cars to make sure they run smoothly rather than look at what they bring daily into their lives, particularly what they consume and drink resulting in body malfunction. I recently heard the term ‘ageing backwards’ which I feel is very apt – choosing to self love and self nurture the evidence is there for all to see and feel. A wonderful sharing thank you.
It’s crazy how so many people need, like you did Tim, ‘a constant supply of tablets’ to counteract the lifestyle that they inflict on their bodies. Your blog is a great inspiration to people to see that by making simple self-loving choices they could feel so much more vitality and clarity.
Yes, I am going to share this blog more widely too. It is so easy and fun to read – a tonic in itself and with some very wise content. Thank you Tim.
You are right Tim, just as a neglected car can look shabby, so can a neglected body start to look shabby. Some are much more adept at covering up the shabbiness, even though it is still there, laying just beneath the surface. Unfortunately the better we are at pretending the better we are at lying too.
Tim, what you are sharing makes absolute sense and you are a living proof of it, your pictures say it all. I like how you say ‘to fuel and run our bodies in a loving manner’.
So true the fuel we put in tells a whole other story, I recently saw some old photos and the fuel used in those was rocket fuel and we all know what happens to rockets…. they go up and then crash!
I loved feeling your joy in expressing about this Tim. What you have presented indeed makes so much sense, and yet it is not what is considered the ‘norm’ as yet in our society. Feeding and running our bodies, whilst honouring them completely in every cell and molecule is not something that is widely accepted or done. We have much to learn as a species about operating our bodies on a daily basis – and honouring has a huge part to play in this. No longer can we run ourselves into the ground without regard. Our bodies are suffering, and our systems are suffering, which in turn cannot keep up with the suffering bodies. It’s a vicious cycle we have the control over reversing!
Yes, I agree Amelia – it is beautiful ‘feeling your joy in expressing about this Tim’. I love the simplicity and straightforward way in which Tim sees life and this is contrary to many other high flown ideas of life that I have been drawn to in the past. Life makes such beautiful and spherical sense when we get our minds out of the way and allow our body to lead us. As you say ‘We have much to learn as a species about operating our bodies on a daily basis’ and with blogs such as Tim’s we have golden opportunities to let go of the old ways and gently embrace ourselves back to love.
I wonder if we all went for a regular checkup like we do with servicing our cars if we would all be healthier as a race?
I know this has been the case with myself and a lot of my friends since we have been going for regular check ups. I never thought to have regular check ups until I heard a presentation by Serge Benhayon on this subject. When I went for my first one I found I had a chronic disease, as well as through the roof mercury levels and many other vitamin and mineral deficiencies
Having treated all this ailments over the years my health and well-being has vastly improved and I have regular checks which keep me on track. If not for this I would be really sick by now as I was not listening to my body nor noticing the signs because I was overriding with nervous energy. I would highly recommend every-one went for regular checks.
The regular check ups are great, it shows the level of health where we at, because our body is the marker of what we live every day. I go to the medical check ups just like I do it for my car.
It gives me a feeling of taking responsibility and looking after myself, so I can enjoy my choices in the future.
That is a fantastic question Heather and I am sure if there will be a research about that they will find out that our cars and our pets are definitely the ones who had this regular checkup. I am wondering why such a research is not yet published.
You are so right Esther. Crazy when you think about it that our cars and our pets get regular checkups and we don’t. Of course it is all about the money. You can choose to go and pay yourself. If everybody would go it would be too expensive.
Tim Bowyer, thank you for sharing a great blog! I find it so telling when you say…..”But his only response to everything that I shared with him was “What, you don’t drink any alcohol at all?” …..Because I can imagine a similar response from my friends. Giving up all manner of everyday foods seems perfectly acceptable in the pursuit of losing weight or gaining fitness and health, but somehow stopping drinking just seems a bridge too far…..It just goes to show how deeply entrenched the idea of drinking alcohol is in our society and for many, giving it up is almost akin to giving up breathing.
It was great to read your blog Tim, you write an inspiring one with a wonderful analogy of the car and the body as one and the same. Since listening to Serge Benhayon and the presentations of Universal Medicine I have begun to take more notice of the type of fuel I am using on a daily basis and am continually feeling a greater level of vitality. Thank you for sharing your amazing before and after photos showing clearly your transformation.
I always enjoy your writing very much Tim and loved seeing the beautiful before and after photo’s of you.
“Is time travel possible? No.” That cracked me up I have to say. So unequivocal. I do wonder when looking at you though, as you have definitely ‘un-aged’!! Well done for making such lovely choices to care for your body and undo the ageing process.
Tim thanks for sharing your story, you always write from your body which means that what you write feels clear and true. What you have shared sounds so simple and obvious and yet I have to remind myself that I too once ate appallingly and drank and smoked. It is not a case of simply understanding with our minds what to do, there are forces at play that are invested in preventing us from re-connecting to our bodies. The guy that you bumped into is a prime example, there was so much that he could of commented on and yet he chose (was the choice already made for him?) to question the fact that you don’t drink alcohol at all, rather than ask more about why you look so great. There is so much going on in the world that we are only just waking up to but waking up we are.
And isn’t it funny – we know the cost of putting the wrong food/fuel into the car and take great care for that not to happen, yet what gets put in the body seems to be of no importance. Makes no sense really…
What I love about your sharing Tim is that it comes from such a deep sense of appreciation and valuing of yourself and the choices you have made. I think you should organise for your before and after photos to be plastered over the buses you drive down Oxford St with the words – “This is what you get when you choose love!”
This really made me laugh Marcia! What a gorgeous thought. I would love to see Tim’s beaming face plastered on the London buses as he drives down Oxford Street. – what a light that would shine in that busy busy part of the city.
Tim, what a great sharing. It feels so good to get rid of some of the rust in my body now that I am more aware of what I am putting into it. It is hard to believe that at one time I probably looked after my car better than my body! You look amazing and it is not just the weight loss but what is coming from your innermost out.
Yes sure does – I only had that conversation with a family member today and their body was giving all the tell-tale signs of not getting the right food, the right wash and the right care, yet they didn’t want to listen. Next time we get to talk about it again, the car analogy will be a great one to use.
“But is it possible to appear to slow down the ageing process by choosing to fuel and run our bodies in a loving manner, so we will look healthier and have more vitality? YES!” YES – a big loud YES from me too Tim, isn’t it awesome that by just paying attention and truly caring for the body, that the body responds so beautifully!!
This also shows how much our society thinks that fuelling ourselves with alcohol is normal. Without people living and breathing real lives of ‘before and afters’ we wouldn’t have the undeniable reflection and proof for us to see. A life of alcohol, stimulants and other foods can have an affect on us that we assume to be normal, until we see the dramatically life changing occurrence that happens when we drop them ~ Tim looks like a miracle walking to me, but perhaps he is the new normal?
Beautifully said Cherise – Tim is indeed the new normal.
Thank you Tim, you are a purely scrumptious image of inspiration! Everything that you have written here about the choices we can make and the knock on effects they have just makes sense and just having the awareness that this is actually possible is a life changer for anyone who has ever wanted to make a change in their life.
That makes a lot of sense Tim as I have seen that if an object like a car or even a wash bucket is cared for it can last for years and still look almost like new compared to when we don’t care for it on a regular basis. Our bodies are no different. It makes me wonder what could or would ageing be marked as if our current markers of ‘getting old’ are based on a lifestyle that is ageing us faster than we naturally would…
your picture speaks 1000 words … an absolutely remarkable story Tim. And reading you bio at the end of your piece was so light and fun. I really cherish the joy that you share with us all.
I agree Natasha. Tim’s joy and vitality really shines through.
Tim if we put the wrong fuel in to our car even if mixed in with the right fuel it will loose it smoothness in driving, it’s mechanics will need to work harder and eventually it breaks down. But as most carlovers will know we can feel this, we detect it when something isn’t quite right and we tend to it. What if we were to love our bodies and ourselves to the point that we regularly tune in to the messages it is giving us about anything we choose that interferes with its natural smooth running?
I saw some friends the other night during a concert and one of them had a hard time recognizing me. Later on, I heard from another mutual friend that they had asked her if I had a face lift…Since I have been attending Universal Medicine courses I also made a lot of changes with regards to food and not drinking alcohol and I feel so much lighter, vital and yes, younger. And no, I did not have a face lift, I have an overal life lift thanks to Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine.
Great to read about your high performance car Tim, it is brilliant to be reading more stories on the life changing effects of giving up alcohol, gluten and dairy. Such common sense changes yet not ones that nutritionist or dieticians often recommend. It is a shame this industry is so heavily influenced by business and profit rather than the health of people as i am sure there are many people who could benefit immensely from copying the type of changes you have made to aid your health and wellbeing.
I love this Tim. The simplicity and honesty of sharing your experience is definitely one to share with all. So many of us miss the obvious when it comes to taking care of ourselves. I love your clarity, thank you.
Tim, I loved it when you described that your thoughts only seemed to be about food and TV/DVD and you were so lethargic obviously from everything you were ingesting. That in itself is a stunning observation, our thoughts are affected by what we put in our bodies, if we live on potato chips we will think like a potato chip! Perhaps if everyone ate as you do Tim, the quality of our TV and DVDs would change, since our thoughts would be different, and we would seek different entertainment if we needed that much entertainment at all.
I aways love reading your blogs too, Tim, they are so refreshing and down to earth. Your joyfulness and light always shine through and your observations and experiences make a great read.
This is true. What Tim presents is relatable for all of us and deeply inspiring. Imagine if we all took an honest look at how our body is truly doing with all that we ingest and align to?
You know, I could go onto the internet and look up scientific and ‘expert’ articles about dairy, gluten, alcohol, sugar and caffeine and find that these substances are ok (in moderation of course). And then I could find articles that present the opposite. It’s a bit confusing and really, we can find whatever we want to support our individual viewpoint or bias.
But frankly Tim, by looking at your before and after photos, the proof is in the (GF/DF/low sugar) pudding. What more compelling evidence is needed?
Time travel? Looks possible to me.
Thanks Tim. You not only look so different in the photos in terms of your physicality, but the way you feel younger and more alive just emanates out from your recent photo. So simple that what we put into our bodies affects not just what we look like, but how we feel and the clarity of our thoughts. I know when I eat dull, heavy foods, my thoughts become dull and heavy and all about me. Eating super sugary foods sends me racing around, and there’s a sort of harsh, jagged quality to my movements.
It does seem that time goes backwards when all the bloated-ness, hardness and saggy-ness goes out of one’s face and the youthful vitality comes back into one’s body. It is also fun to look at time going backwards in terms of connecting with the love within being about embodying an ageless energy. If the ageing process has occurred prematurely, we could say we are clearing that ageing effect and literally getting younger. Thinking this way is perhaps also a playful way to explore freeing ourselves from our attachment to a linear notion of time.
You a re a living example of the profound common sense, “It just makes sense that if something we put into our bodies can prematurely age us, then we can reverse that by not putting it into our bodies”.
Yes one couldn’t put it any simpler than that could one – I love that sentence, it brings it home with no detours!
You are a real inspiration and I am sure your friend walked away with much to consider. Whilst reading what I noticed was even though I made some choices to diet and lifestyle in my life I did not truly or wholeheartedly commit to this or loving me UNTIL I met Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine who I have a lot to thank for and have inspired and continue to inspire me to no end. My diet is by no way ‘perfect’ and still contantly work in progress but there is a clarity, strength and love in my body now that I did not or could not feel in the past.
A great analogy Tim, that puts into perspective the choices we make as to how to ‘fuel’ our ‘vehicle’ on a daily basis. These choices not only determine how we look, but more importantly, as you explain, how you feel.
Tim, looking at your before and after photos I would have to say that time travel is definitely possible. The change is you is amazing, not just your weight loss, but the light that is shining from you, and the years that have fallen away. And I love the analogy of the car, one that I have used many times when sharing that what happens to a car when you don’t care for it, is the same as what happens to your body, of which you are the living proof. Inspirational!
When we look after our bodies as we would look after a fancy car we get a shiny well kept body. You are testament to this Tim.
Brilliant article Tim, you sir are an awesome example of what living with true self -responsibility looks like. To see that we can make such massive changes to how we look, feel and live by being more honest about the food we eat and the choices we make is amazing. Yet so simple when we value ourselves and begin to live with true self-love. Well done Tim you are a true inspiration!
A very inspirational blog Tim.The changes you have experienced are a testament to the loving choices you are making.
I love, love, love this article Tim! Everything you share about aging the body makes so much sense. It’s definitely been my own experience too that sugar, coffee, alcohol, gluten and dairy have dire effects on the way I feel and the condition of my body – felt from the inside… having to live with the aches, bloating and discomfort, and seen from the outside (more bloating, excess weight, and tired, strained and uneven complexion). Our food choices can’t but help affect how fresh-faced and vital we are.
Recently when I was travelling someone called me a ‘young man’ which made me smile as I am nearly 40. I’m not sure how old she thought I was, but it was evidence that the way I live, inspired by the teachings of Universal Medicine, really does have a big impact on our bodies, and the health and vitality we gain from this way of living radiates out for all to see and feel.
Gorgeous Tim. The type and amount of fuel we put into our bodies can have a huge affect on our health… Things like alcohol and sugar really can poison and rot our bodies from the inside out, and as you say this can very easily result in being overweight, or acquiring illnesses or diseases. But this is not new knowledge in the slightest, so why does humanity still choose caffeine over true health? Smoking over feeling vital?
Wow Tim what an amazing title and piece of writing sharing so much truth ,honesty and responsibility about what we put in our bodies and how we are on the inside, the outside and how we live. Time travel really can exist as i see with Universal Medicine students changing their lives so beautifully and you are an shining glowing real deal example of this.
Your changes and photos are living proof of how we can look after ourselves and live our life,it really does make a difference and we reverse time and get younger in bodies and outlook and how we live with a real purpose understanding and life being not just about ourselves. Love the car analogy and the response to life without alcohol says it all. Thank you for your amazing sharing and all you are.
If someone says to me ‘wow you are looking younger as you get older’ than to me that speaks volumes about how I was living in my twenties! Even though I was 20 years younger then, I was living in a very disregarding and abusive way towards my body. I very much took it for granted and expected it to put up with the punishment and put up with it it did but when I look at photos of myself then, the strain of this lifestyle is plain to see.
Hi Tim you are living proof of the amazing things that can happen when we honour ourselves by our food choices. And not a diet book in sight!
It’s interesting isn’t it that it can become normal to rely on medication to fix an ailment like a headache or heartburn and yet we rarely ask ourselves why are we getting the ailment in the first place as the quick fix means we do not have to look at the choices we have been making.
Most people fear time and the effects of time on our physical bodies. But could this be all because we are not taking care of our bodies? Maybe if we really loved, supported, nurtured our bodies as the wonderfully delicate things that they are, we would not stop the ageing process completely obviously, but age in such a graceful way that we would no longer fear it? Tim you have shown what is really possible here.
Andrew, how true. To care for our bodies deeply, to give the understanding to ourselves in the same level we would take care and understand a baby, changes the fuel and supports our body in a way that it can support us with more energy and vitality.
Thanks Tim, for another awesome piece of writing. It is lovely to feel your joy-filled expression about the transformation of your life from couch potato to being full of energy and commitment to life. I wish everyone could read this blog.
I really enjoyed your latest offering Tim, it definitely makes a lot of sense that what we put in our bodies has a direct effect on our mental and physical well-being. I have noticed myself that when I eat certain foods my thinking becomes dull and I feel lethargic to the point where I just want to sleep. So is it any wonder that life can seem more of an effort than it need be, just by the foods we choose to eat and drink.
The irony is Julie, that people want to eat sugary foods to give them energy, when in reality it has the reverse affect, it just makes them even more tired, heavy and sleepy. There is a saying ‘Eat Light to be Light’, so in other words, if you want to feel full of vitality, eat what suits your body and not do what the mind wants you to do and eat foods to numb and distract yourself, like the favourite (past) pastime of mine, chocolate!
Hello Julie Matson and it appears to be a never ending cycle for us. We eat certain things, like for me gluten that make us tired and lethargic only to then have a coffee or similar to not make us feel tired? What if we take just a little more awareness around the foods that make us tired? Would this little step make a huge difference?, I think Tim Bowyer is a walking example of this. It’s not rocket science or even a far stretch, some foods even though they may other tick boxes, don’t support us and as Tim has shown when he stopped eating them he felt lighter and certainly looks lighter. Thank you Julie.
Absolutely Julie, I can notice the same thing. I know by how I feel when I wake up in the morning whether my food choices from the night before were supportive or not.
We certainly can reverse the ageing and deterioration of our bodies, by choosing to care for it more. As that is one of the most important things it needs, the love we have within needs to be served out to let our bodies blossom in full.
It is true Benkt we can reverse the ageing and deterioration of our bodies, as the body has an exquisite innate ability to rejuvenate and heal and it responds beautifully to self-care and self-love. The choices we make for ourselves from our inner-most absolutely reflect in our outward wellbeing.
No one can stop the ineffability of growing older, but we all are just a choice away from living younger.
On the TV it seems like makeovers are so difficult! You need plastic surgery, fitness trainers, a dietician and months of hard, hard work. Yet here we have a vision of health, through simple choices. This one blog exposes it all.
Absolutely Heather Pope since those shows are on the surface very ‘wow-effect’, and yet the underlying issue of love’s opposite cousin – abuse, remains lodged in the psyche of a person no matter how good looking or fit they then become. What does the wow-effect picture look like a week, month, a year later? The same or not? The start of self-love is the removal of abuse, and it’s this that is sustaining a person (for years) in their natural beauty, weight, presentation and gorgeous look. There is no end date with love.
Yes indeed the inevitability of growing older is always with us but your comment, Steve, about living younger is all too true … and I’ve found that with the benefits that Tim described, there also comes the joie de vivre, a joy and vitality from one’s being, an enthusiasm and curiosity for life, no matter the age of a person.
Beautifully said Steve! And it is so true, I am sometimes surprised how old some of the Universal Medicine students are, as a lot of them look and feel so much younger. UniMed has certainly inspired many to make life and old age so much more livable and enjoyable. And as you said it is only a choice away and that applies for anyone who cares to give it a go.
love this Steve – “we all are just a choice away from living younger” – this is the truth – Tim is the living proof.
I agree Steve, brilliant comment!
What a gorgeous story, Tim, and the photo difference is stunning! Not only do you look younger, but we can feel the difference in your vitality. Most people think the physical symptoms you described are just ‘normal’ but you are showing us that they need not be there at all, with a few simple changes in what you eat and drink.
Carmel, this is a good point that ‘Most people think the physical symptoms you described are just ‘normal’. It’s great for them to see that it does not have to be that way and that it is possible to make changes and Tim’s blog is proof of this fact.
Carmel, I agree with you “Most people think the physical symptoms you described are just ‘normal”, what a state we have come to in the world, when we accept such a sad level of health as ‘normal’. There is such an enormous difference in the before photos of Tim, in the second he has so much more life and really looks as if he is really enjoying it, looks positively joyful and full of beans, whereas he is obviously very lethargic in the first one, and does not look at all happy and is so very overweight.
I agree Carmel with how people think having the symptoms Tim had are considered ‘normal’ and amazing that he turned his life around with a few simple changes as you said. What we can offer our ailing and ageing bodies by making these simple changes to our diet and lifestyle is nothing short of extraordinary. It wipes out all the diets and pill support options offered by modern day society that’s for sure.
Awesome Tim, the best kind of time travel, one where you heal all the times you have chosen to disregard the body, by instead caring for it as the delicate machine it is.
It shows us time is indeed a concept. Ageing has been rewritten in this blog.
Gorgeous Tim. It’s great what we can do if we start to take care of ourselves. It makes total sense that our bodies need the right fuel in order to function properly. Awareness and practice of this reduces illness and the need for medication. If more people practiced this it would reduce the strain on the health services. It makes total sense.
I love the way you describe the ageing process in connection to a car. The lack of right fuel, care and attention the car will rust and get out of condition, whereas if we look after it, it will run well and look well. Yes, our bodies are just like that. At the end of the day it makes simple common sense.
A great blog showing the profound difference making different choices can make in our lives, thank you Tim – isn’t it interesting how many people will instantly pick up on the fact that someone does not drink alcohol, as doing so as an adult is assumed a normal aspect of life? Strange when doing so is so harmful.
It is incredible that as a humanity we readily accept behaviour that is wayward, turn a blind eye to corruption and abuse moment to moment and don’t blink an eye when it comes to ingesting sugar and alcohol when we are well aware of their harm to us….even at the point when our body is calling out in desperation for us to stop and showing us clearly the signs that all is not well?
Very true Michael. I’m not into partying, drinking and drugs, and when I express this to my friends they say things like, ‘Why not?’, ‘You’re going to try it at some point’, ‘You’re no fun’… Which is crazy when you think of how harming these behaviours can be on the body.
Tim, these photo’s are incredible – what a difference. It is wonderful to read your very humble, inspiring story.
I agree Rebecca, the photos say it all. Well done Tim and Universal Medicine
Tim, your photo’s says it all and I can imagine your friend did not recognise you at first. When we start to love ourselves we are able to make the choices you have made about what you feel to eat and drink. And as you share it has not only an effect on your body but also on your mind; you are more clear in what you think and it becomes more about everyone instead of being focussed on your self. Choosing love as fuel has got an amazing effect, we cannot even imagine how amazing this effect truly is.
Yes Annelies, choosing love slows things down and brings some things to a stop. If we look at what is going on around us, even on a global scale all those ‘stops’ are because of love — the balancing effects of the power of love. Loving choices truly make change instead of unloving choices will bring a forced change.
Love the car analogy Tim and apart from the amazing physical transformation I was struck by you saying that now ‘My thoughts have a lot more clarity and are not just focussed on me.’ The fact that you have chosen to share what has happened to you since your choice to look at the fuel you were putting in your body so that others can feel how it is possible to turn the aging process around by committing to looking after yourself in self loving ways is a true gift to humanity and a direct result of the choices you have made. Thank you for sharing.
I agree, Helen, Tim’s comment about having clarity and not being so focussed on himself is great … perhaps it could be first steps to humanity assisting itself and each other from a spiral down into self-centredness and ‘looking out for number one’ to that of brotherhood and supporting each other – all from just adjusting what one eats!
It is amazing how the body responds to loving choices. You are living proof of this Tim, your photo says it all. I love your car analogy, and the rusting from the inside, we are not aware of this until we become ill and then quite often major repairs are needed. We also don’t overfill our car with petrol, and then stop at every service station to top up, but we are happy to over-ride our body and eat huge meals and then have snacks in-between and wonder why we keep increasing in size.
Very inspiring Tim. It’s rather gross and distorted that so many are doing the equivalent of cutting and pasting their bodies to make themselves appear younger when the answer is clearly to work from the inside out and love and accept ourselves regardless of how we look.
So awesome Tim you are one shining example of what can happen when we truly start to look after ourselves. Over the years I have been blown away by the changes in those attending Universal Medicine Events I have seen people look 10 -20 years younger. It seems the answer to this simply is listening to the heart and body and living from there rather than the mind that can feed you all sorts of things! (quite Literally)
Ha ha Sam literally feed us all sorts of nasty things, thoughts and then foods, I have noticed beyond any doubt that the more we take care of our bodies the more our thoughts are taken care of, loving actions bring loving thoughts but you have to be willing to make the loving action first, our will is significant and the love built in the body is what will initiate that desire for love to fill the body rather than the destructive ill that the loveless mind will happily fill us up with, literally their are people who weigh 1 tonne, that is horrendous – no judgement just an illustration of how far we can go in being fed harm.
Yes Samantha I couldn’t agree more. Living from what our heart and body shares with us continually is the way to be.
Sam I agree that it is about listening to the heart and the body rather than the mind. Our minds have an amazing ability to not only distort the truth but down right lie, whereas the body can only ever tell the truth.
Thank you for sharing Tim and what a huge change there is in you in those pictures. It goes to show how important the way we live and treat our bodies impacts on our health and well being. So many of us let ourselves go as we get older, it is inspiring to have examples and role models like yourself that show it is never too late to change and start truly taking care of ourselves.
A great image Tim, a finely tuned sports car driving a London bus! I too have found I feel so much younger and with much more vitality since I started paying attention to what I put into my body.
It keeps amazing me that what we put into our bodies has such a huge impact on how we look (and feel). And knowing this ,why do so many people choose to ignore this fact?
Great question Lieke, if I reflect it back to my previous attitude around health, I would say that ignoring the fact that if I look in the mirror and I look sloppy, is to then wanting to not feel how my previous choices have affect me. To me this all comes down to taking responsibility for my life and being honest that I disregared it in many ways. I still look at myself in the mirror and see this still sometimes, but the big difference is that I will look deeply into my eyes , feel my previous choices- but also the love that I am! That makes a huge difference, and it reminds me that I am always having a new choice to take care of myself.
Tim, I love reading your blogs and often share them with friends and family, because they are light hearted and speak to many. I have also used the analogy of the car in relation to how we treat our bodies. It’s an irony that we’re more connected to our cars and its maintenance and safety, than we are to ourselves and our own health. Would you drive around in a dodgy car that’s not roadworthy, many would not, yet choose to walk in a body that is not life worthy. Another analogy is the relationship we have with our homes: many people have immaculate, well furnished homes, but live in bodies that are chronically ill. It reminds me of ‘Changing Rooms’ a UK reality TV programme that invited interior designers and decorators into viewer’s homes to clear, re-decorate and re-configure rooms. Though we observed huge physical transformations, home owners walked back into their homes in the same way as they left, so no true change. When we become our own interior designers and decorators and take responsibility for changing our inner rooms, true and lasting transformation happens, that impacts every area of our lives.
A great sharing Tim, You have very simply presented a way of being that brings true health in mind and body in a way that is accessible to all. You also offer the many millions of women (and men) worldwide that turn to cosmetic surgery, an alternative way to maintain youthfulness and vitality.
You are a living testament to the choices we make Tim.
This blog is another beauty Tim, Two weeks ago I went to a friends leaving party and saw old drinking buddies that I haven’t see since I stopped drinking about eight years ago, they were more amazed by the fact that I don’t drink anymore than the fact that I hadn’t really aged and I was 13kgs lighter as well. I too used to suffer terribly from heartburn and that was all down to what I consumed, now its just a distant memory.
You have transformed yourself Tim and how gorgeous it is to be vibrant and free of the things that stopped you from feeling how amazing you are. You are awesome.
I love how you explained your choices so simply by likening your body & food to a car & fuel. What an inspiration you must have been to your friend to be speaking like you did, and looking younger than he remembred.
Yes Fumiyo I especially love the simplicity because it made it even more palpable.
Tim, you show us that time traveling is possible, that it is possible to reverse our bodies health form deteriorate with the years to rejuvenate with the years by applying the proper care and nurturing our bodies deserve.
Congratulations Tim on your decision to reverse the ageing process in this very simple. common sense yet profound way. I have done same, proving at least two of us are capable of ‘time travel’ – and I know many others who have done so too – by implementing changes as a result of attending presentations by Universal Medicine.
I could not agree more Victoria – there are indeed many of us that have done the ‘time travel’ by applying the profound yet common sense teachings by Universal Medicine in our day to day living.
What a fun way to introduce a very serious and inspiring account of time travelling Tim. It is clear from the photos that your transformation is profound, in the second present time photo you look so at home in your own body, and enjoying yourself too.
Your blog is a great testimonial to the wise choices you are making regarding food and alcohol, and how this makes such a difference to our thoughts, mental clarity and vitality. Thank you for sharing your experience with looking so much younger that you were almost unrecognisable! Thank you also to Serge Benhayon for bringing this awareness about caring for and respecting our bodies to our attention in such practical and do-able ways.
Yes that is so true, the possibility to be more aware of the body and how it feels, we have been shown through Serge Benhayon, what a blessing. It is for everyone to live it every day so this way of living can become the own lived true way.
The photo given says it all.
Well done to the commitment you have given yourself to live a life of love, care, self dedication and commitment.
Well done Tim!
The amazing thing is that not drinking alcohol is actually the easiest of all these. Alcohol causes so much harm to us that a little increase in awareness makes it obvious that alcohol hurts us. With sugar, gluten and dairy it is a little more difficult even though the damage is immense once you start noticing it.
It is Christoph, when you start to be honest and bring awareness to how your body feels you then have a very clear choice – continue doing the same or try it without and feel the difference. In most cases I knew full well how I felt drinking alcohol or eating certain foods, there was no questioning really, it was more giving myself permission to not have these things even if everyone around is doing the opposite.
The permission to not have this foods and drinks that are not good for the body, is key to stepping out of this vicious cycle.
Such an inspiration you are Tim . Goes to show that what we fuel our bodies with can either stop us on the side of the road or have us flying past the rest of the cars with ease. Thank you.
It is a truly inspiring story that cannot be questioned or twisted into anything other than a story of how one man made some simple choices and gained a level of health and wellbeing almost everyone wants. This story tells us it is available to all!
Yes a great story – for everyone who is ready to listen to their body
A great message, Tim, that what you eat is what you get. Every time. You’re living proof that taking responsibility for the type of foods that we put into our bodies can bring a considerable pay off in wellbeing and outlook. Our health comes from the inside out so it makes absolute sense to be discerning about what we put inside.
Hmm yes Cathy Hackett, ‘what you eat is what you get’ – this is great, so what are we eating (aside from just food) that is making us so ill as a race, even opted out of life and work? Weight is so much more about the consumption of whole life, and its quality – with the love of self and others, or not.
It is possible to live the future now by simply listening to the messages our bodies are constantly communicating to us. In our ancient past and in our future that follows, this has been and will be, how we live again. We as a society have become lost in the search for the ‘perfect pill’, the magic elixir’ and the ‘ultimate solution’ that will cure us of all our woes and lead us to everlasting youth and well-being. This is pure illusion, for in this outward quest we overlook the very natural wisdom that is on offer from within the ‘confines’ of our own bodies. Instinctively we each know which substances we ingest will either support or oppose our level of health and vitality and in this way, either contribute to our sense of harmony within ourselves, or work against it. Our bodies talk, but are we listening?
It is so true that we do have all the answers right here right now inside of us, and it takes an enormous act of will to override these messages – which is something we have been doing for centuries even though our bodies have never stopped communicating with us right from the start.
Living the future now, brilliant. Just like it was in the past.
We don’t want to listen Liane because that would require us to be honest about what affect our choices are having on our bodies. The wisdom that lives within is there when we are willing to be honest and listen rather than put our fingers in our ears going ‘blah blah blah’ I know this is a position I have taken many times and still do, to the detriment of everything. But what I have noticed is the more I am able to make loving choices the more that builds until I can take my fingers out of my ears and go, oh that feels awful I don’t want to do that anymore, I love myself too much to hurt it like that.
Great comment Liane. I agree, our body is communicating messages to us constantly. The choice is clear, do we listen to them or not makes a world of difference to how we look and feel. Tim’s story shows just how incredible it is when we do listen. The health benefits that we can experience are a direct result of us listening to our body, making loving choices to support and fuel it back to its original supreme state. When we put love and care into anything it will simply flourish and grow. So the same goes for our body, it is waiting and crying out for us to make loving choices continuously.
The question is why don’t we listen to the wisdom our body lovingly speaks ALL the time. The answers are within us but we seek outside ourselves, ignoring the simplicity we instinctively already know. We partake in a huge excursion, walking far away from this truth to ultimately arrive back at the very place we initially left.
Liane, I agree with you. I love your line “It is possible to live the future now by simply listening to the messages our bodies are constantly communicating to us.” Yes, long ago, we lived this way, and gradually, with the help of and role model we have in Serge Benhayon, some of us are just at the early stages of relearning to live this way. It is such a joyful way to be living, building our love, and caring deeply for ourselves. Tim is obviously now listening to the messages from his own body, and his latest photograph shows the beautiful results.
How lovely Beverley. The more we embody the idea of living the future now the more it feels like a possibility. As you say with ‘the help of and role model we have in Serge Benhayon’ our lives are forever changing and adjusting to the amazingness of the Ageless Wisdom. For me so many things are not yet in my livingness but there is a deep inner knowing that I am now following the true path back home and returning to where I belong.
You are so right Liane, we would give anything for a perfect pill, that allows us to continue with an unhealthy lifestyle. The rewards of self-responsibility are much more satisfying as Tim has shown us.
I read recently that scientists are actually trying to produce a pill so people who cannot eat gluten would be able to take the pill and then eat what they want!!!!!! This is absolute madness and I thought scientists where supposed to be smart! There is a very sound reason why the body cannot tolerate certain foods….. because it is not actually good for the body or supporting us at all. How many millions of dollars has gone into that research just so someone can eat what they are not supposed to be eating, when instead it could be used to promote a true healthy way to live and actually listen and respond lovingly to our bodies instead of overriding it. What this is encouraging (the pill idea) is actually more dis-ease.
It is a comedy/tragedy really Liane, the time and energy spent trying to get someone else to change things for us without us ever having to take responsibility when all the time we have the means for change with us, our very own body screaming at us. . .
“please do not ingest/say/drink/think that . . . remember what happened last time. . . .oh, no too late . . .you have already . . .OK here we go again on the down hill spiral. . .” It reminds of a cartoon that asks a crowd of people ‘who wants change’ and everyone puts their hand up enthusiastically and then the crowd is asked ‘who wants to change’ and not one hand goes up and everyone slumps and looks at the ground.
For many it sounds great in theory and most are keen to better their lives but to walk your talk consistently and make true change means not only making the initial choice but making a constant choice thereafter -being committed and responsible. It isn’t just a matter of swallowing the tablet, matrix style, it is how we are with everything that follows.
So true Liane our body holds our natural wisdom we simply need to listen to what it is telling us. I know at times I over ride the messages because I do not want to make the necessary changes. I have known for a year that I often eat salmon for comfort and it is too rich for my liver but it has taken till recently for me to adhere to this as I “loved ” my salmon.
Ah, yes, Mary-Louise that rings a bell with me too – as I have for so long over ridden the messages that my body lovingly offers me I am now receiving louder and clearer – and more uncomfortable messages. This is where I so appreciate all the love and wisdom that I receive both from Esoteric Practitioners and from the student body of Universal Medicine. There is a love and an honesty in the reflections that I receive from them that eventually knock at the door of my stubbornness, and allow me to begin the process of letting go of all the old patterns that have kept me stuck for far too long. And then as I begin to change I wonder why I have waited for so long!
That way of living is actually very simple, but not very interesting for the health industry. If people would take care of their bodies and going for regular check ups and putting the right fuel in, that would mean, that there are more healthy people and less need for the health services in hospitals and with doctors.
Liane, to me what you have put forward is not just a possibility but an absolute truth. To address your question
‘Our bodies talk, but are we listening?’
What I have noticed is when you live most of your life connecting to a energy that is not true, the ‘messages’ you think you are receiving about your body and what it needs are grossly inaccurate. When you aligned to this false source you can be fooled by convenient truths that feed the minds idea of health. To know our wisdom we first must know the source we are connecting to and then all is known by the quality of that source/energy.
That was a great command Liane and so revealing of how we choose to life our lives. I agree our bodies talk but we choose not to listen anymore and that is sad. Therefore I love what you wrote – it is like we need a wake up call out of our Sleeping Beauty dream prison.
Love this post Tim, it is extraordinary every time I look at your photo to see the difference, wow. Particularly enjoyed this analogy: “I feel that by putting the wrong fuel into our bodies it starts to rust from the inside. We start to look a lot older than we actually are and then things start to break down” – adding plenty of self-TLC clearly works wonders. Awesome.
Tim, your photo says it all and your words bring the truth of this home. Your analogy of the car gives a perfect illustration as to what is at play here. The fuel we put into our bodies can either support us or pollute us. There are only ever 2 types of fuel in which to choose from: Love or not-love.
So true Liane and Tim is a great example that if we adhere to this simple law, we have the power to change a lot, we can even somewhat reverse the aging process.
I love your comment Liane, beautifully said. It makes so much sense and it raises awareness for us to take responsibility for our own healthy. It also puts our choices and our healthy into perspective when you read Tim’s blog and the amazing comments.
I know I love the analogy of the car too Liane, it makes it very simple and obvious about what we are choosing and what is or is not supporting the body.
So very simply said Liane. The fuel we choose to put into our body is either loving, nurturing and nourishing, or it is polluting, toxic and difficult for the body to digest. Which one we choose determines how our body feels and how it responds and is in everything we do.
Yes Sandra, the consequences of whether we choose love or not-love are felt far and wide by many, including ourselves. To be loving, caring, and nurturing, or not to be, a simple on-going choice.
It’s a very straight forward before and after! It’s great to read about the symptoms you noticed in your body, and after removing certain foods that these all disappeared. Our body is really communicating strongly all the time. It’s very true that we care better for our cars but disregard our own body expecting it to run well on the worst kind of fuel. Emotionally we may feel we need foods or drinks so strongly that we can’t even consider the harmful effects of our diet. I’ve certainly done this at times, however a vital harmonious body is a joy to live in, much greater than any comfort or distraction a food or drink could offer.
I’ve also previously fed myself unsuppportive foods, Melinda, and agree that a harmonious body is so much better to live in than otherwise … unfortunately many people do not give themselves the chance to experience this … or maybe they do when the body is unwell enough when not listening is not an option!
My car feels great because I have chosen it for me and I do take care of it because I love it. Every time I sit into my car seat I take a moment and appreciate it. It is reliable, sporty, it drives very smooth and sits on the road very safe and is very easy to drive, it also is very efficient and it looks classy. My car reflects me so much.
It is so crazy but, unfortunately, true that the idea of not drinking alcohol seems inconceivable to most people – they look at you in disbelief and then you can almost feel their mind kick in with an instant ‘fire blanket’ to dampen any spark of truth and then onto the next line of defence – criticism.
Yes Tamara, it exposes how reliant people are on alcohol.
And our reliance on alcohol must surely raise the question as to why is this so?
Why do we hold back who we truly are with others? Why do we need to take the edge off life and ‘get out of it’ altogether?
Yes Tamara, I have also experienced that people that were close to me took it personally when I said I no longer drink alcohol, as if I had actually let them down. It is crazy how the whole society is largely set up to blindly make choices that are harmful to not only themselves but everyone else equally.
Such a catchy headline – I had to read on. But it is just as an amazing story as would have been some kind of time machine futuristic story. Great reflection here Tim!
The possibility of actual time travel – let’s never say never: it works for Dr Who, and who knows what we are truly capable of!
And, in another sense, we could say we are time travelling all the time – we think we are moving forward but we are repeating history on a daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, etc basis as we cycle around and around in the same momentums, rarely learning what we need to do to break free.
Yes I agree Neil. I actually find it more amazing than a futuristic time machine story, as this is real and very relatable to our current time.
I could feel the absolute joyfulness in your writing Tim and then, when I looked at your before and after photos, WOW – simply awesome! No words required – you reflect it all! If I ever visit London I will definitely be catching a ride on your bus☺
That’s what I felt too Tamara – it is the joy of Tim sharing the changes that he has made that truly tells his story. A story that needs to be told far and wide.
It is indeed inspiring Tamara, Tim’s transformation is not only a physical or weight one, but a whole change in his level of vitality and well-being.
Yes Tamara, Tim’s before and after pictures speak volumes.
Tim it’s astounding the response I get from people when like you they genuinely ask how have I lost weight and it’s the same response ‘ what you don’t drink at all’. If I said about my car breaking down because I put E10 instead of regular fuel ( which I did) they engage… but no alcholol and it’s a conversation stopper. Such is the hook, we cannot see life without it no matter how rational, intelligent, alternative, health conscious not drinking is a ‘ no go zone ‘. It’s an addiction that effects and controls even the most rational of us. We can’t imagine life without a drink, now I can’t imagine life with a drink I have cracked the mind controlling addiction.
Glad you picked up this point of Tim’s Merrilee, the response to no alcohol being a no go zone just serves to demonstrate how embedded and insidious it is. What I pick up on in the responses to not drinking is a sort of pity that I certainly cannot be having any fun in life at all without consuming alcohol. “Oh surely you can have just a little glass of xyz to celebrate so and so’s birthday?” It’s like not drinking is something that’s been imposed upon me rather than I have freely made that choice and like you cannot imagine a life with alcohol nor would I want one. And incidentally I have far more fun or should I say joy without it.
And yes Josephine we also remember having fun and it’s awesome to wake the next day with clarity and feel the joy. I had this conversation with someone yesterday and they immediately put me in the ‘wowser’ basket but as I stayed with my choice they got louder, more giggly and mocking such was their true discomfort and need to feel better about their choices.
I agree Merrilee, it never fails to amaze me either how threatened people are even about the thought of going without alcohol for an evening when an event is alcohol free. I can recall feeling put upon when asked not to drink when I was drinking and yet when I broke free from the hold that alcohol had I never looked back.
Gosh, indeed Merrilee – I too can’t imagine a life drinking alcohol again, my whole body is shouting out a loud and clear NO.
It’s incledibe Eva it’s not just a no to alcohol, it is actually as you say a full body NO, which I find fascinating and ask myself was the body shouting so loudly when I was drinking and I just couldn’t hear it as it’s now so tangible and I feel the NO in every particle of my body.
Merrilee alcohol is a no go area for many people, when you say you don’t drink they look at you as you are crazy. It’s definitely an addiction that people don’t want to let go off, a pure comfort so they don’t need to feel. They will justify and defend why they drink and that it helps them relax. Does it really help people relax or does it just numb them from feeling?.
Yes Amita – when I say no to alcohol around those who are drinking they really get concerned that I am missing out on something ‘fun’ or a ‘good time’. At times I go into reaction trying to drill them for their choices and make it seem like I am better than them for not drinking – but when I am accepting of their choices I can present the truth of it, that I have never enjoyed the taste or the feeling of being on alcohol and I don’t enjoy the person I become…so why drink it? The only thing I am missing out on is me if I choose to drink it.
I have experienced this a few times Merrilee – when I have stated I don’t drink to someone wanting to share their wine and the response is always a raised eyebrow or a comment like ‘what! how can you manage life without a drink” indicating that this is very strange indeed to have chosen not to drink alcohol about 7 years ago after understanding the impact it has on my body after attending a presentation by Serge Benyahon. I cannot imagine how I would feel with alcohol now, I certainly feel much clearer and filled with joy without it.
I love your blogs Tim, I never know it is yours till I get to the end of it but they always get me! You look amazing and to know that this is because you have considered what you put in has an effect on what you get out…so simple and clearly so profound! Your friend, like so many others …me included at one point… Spend so much time focusing on what we can’t have that diets just never work. Feeling from your body the immense benefits, both physical and psychological, of throwing the word diet out and looking at lifestyle choices, a way of living that has the benefits you are a living example of, now that is inspiration for change.
Yes focussing on the positive changes/benefits rather than what someone can’t have gives the inspiration to keep going and constantly refine dietary and other lifestyle choices as Tim so clearly demonstrates. So many are stuck in the mind-set of feeling the lack of something even if they know it is harming for them and seem unable to get past that. It is clear that the initial choice about what kind of fuel you put in your body then governs future choices so until one makes the choice to stop ingesting certain substances they will be trapped in this limiting mentality.
Wow Tim, your photos totally confirm the transformation you have made, very inspiring. I love the analogy you use of the body being like the car; it makes complete sense that what we put in is what we get out.
Simply loving choices, thank you for sharing.
Tim you are an absolute inspiration. Your old friend received a huge healing from seeing your transformation…an imprint of what is possible for anyone and everyone. And the weight is just a byproduct…although he may not have been aware of it, he was feeling you and your light first and the quality with which you choose to live and love… this is undeniable. Thank you Tim
Absolutely Sara – such a beautiful point you’ve made. Everyone gets the blessing or healing of how we are living, whether we have physical changes or not. We feel the energy and light before we see, even though some may not be consciously aware of this. Our choices affect everyone all the time. Thank you for the reminder.
Tim I too have had similar comments from family & friends. I was plagued by indigestion, bloating and creeping weight gain until I changed my diet and my feelings about my self, all through the inspiration of Serge Benhayon who presents that we are all worth the love and care that is required to keep our bodies vital and healthy. With this renewed vitality I am able to engage and truly support others.
I love this Anne: “With this renewed vitality I am able to engage and truly support others.” It is so awesome by just simply listening to the body and taking good care of it and us, of how much more support we can be, and the quality of the support reflects the quality in which we live our life.
Yes Anne, there is such a beautiful synergy in the way that taking loving care of ourselves not only has a dramatic impact on our own health and sense of self, but also on the way we relate, interact and inspire others. This loving way of being is a true support to all.
Tim the difference your choices have made is astounding, not just because of the obvious weight loss, but the complete change in your sense of self and wellbeing. What struck me reading your account was your comment that your thoughts are no longer just about you… a fascinating comment I don’t think l’ve ever heard someone say before. l’ve worked in the health industry a long time, and have seen many physical ‘transformations’ of a relatively minor kind, but very few manage anything major over the longer term. There is an ingredient inherent in what Universal Medicine offers that makes this possible, and is the missing link when it comes to transformational change. Without it, we are left with will power and sheer grit to go against the lifelong ingrained habits that generally pull us back into our old ways soon enough, despite our best intentions otherwise. Thanks for sharing your story, it is very inspiring for others to know this is possible.
I too have never heard anyone say this either – it’s an absolutely fascinating observation. This potential link between lifestyle changes and an increase other-centric thought is worth investigating.
It seems that when we deeply care for ourselves, we have a much greater capacity to see, receive and care for others.
I agree Emma, that is the key I feel, to firstly remember how to truly nurture and care for ourselves first. Something else that I am becoming more aware of is the gem quality of learning to ‘receive’. Many of us would say we are more than willing to care for others, or care for another, indeed in the past oftentimes far more than truly caring for ones’ self. To bring forward the willingness to surrender the will behind the doing I am finding opens up the possibility of acceptance and receiving. Could it be that this is a piece that may be missing from the picture that enables one the possibility of surrender to divine will i.e. the call of our soul that is ever present. I wonder is that a consideration, a point of contemplation?
Absolutely agree Jenny, this sentence called my attention too. Clarity of thought and stop focusing on ourselves, but being deeply self-loving and self-caring is the missing ingredient that is supported by Universal Medicine. We can also call it true purpose and making love the foundation of life. It is not about dieting, getting a better bodily function and/or looks, but about true wellbeing and awareness so that our body can guide us through life.
Tim what you share is pure gold and reading it it offers an amazing reflection for everybody on how our choices can hold us back in time or how we can be ahead of our time and live the future in a body that feels forever vital and young.
well said Jenny the big difference with universal Medicine is not only that the changes are lasting and ongoing but the love, care and nurturing that is reconnected to as in truth it is all about that and the weight changes and the better health are simply a very welcomed result of that.
Spot on Jenny. The diet and weight loss industry is based on using will power, motivation and as you say, sheer grit to break habits and adopt a more healthy lifestyle. But what I see, and have experienced myself is that it is always the mind that either gets you to your goal or gives in. Before I came to the presentations and courses with Universal Medicine, I was addicted to sugar and no amount of will power could keep me from it. It has been through understanding and healing the reason I wanted/needed the sugar that I’ve been able to gradually let it go…no will power needed. The ‘hook’ sugar had on me just gradually loosened and now I can just easily say no to sugar because of how I know I’ll feel if I have it and it’s not worth it.
Hello Jenny Ellis and I agree. I also love this part from Tim Bowyer, “But is it possible to appear to slow down the ageing process by choosing to fuel and run our bodies in a loving manner, so we will look healthier and have more vitality? YES!” The “loving manner” has been what Universal Medicine have support so well. It’s not about diet, eating this or that, going to this course, seeing this person etc. It is about ‘loving’ choices in the whole picture without a focus on just one part. This is what supports everything, the foundation if you will. That same love and care then is there for others, naturally. Thank you Jenny.
This part stood out for me too Jenny. I’ve experienced the same foggy thoughts Tim had when I eat, drink or don’t exercise in a way that supports my body. My thoughts become all about how lethargic and tired I feel, and there is also a sense of confusion… definitely like putting gas into a car when it needs petrol, and when you go to accelerate it either spits and splatters or doesn’t move forward all together! Hence it is than all about me… as I’m unable to then follow through with what needs to be done. Actually through Universal Medicine presentations and feeling this for myself in detail I’ve easily let go of many unloving behaviours, instead of the quick fixes I had tried before.
Yes Aimee – so true all of it, and there are no quick fixes, they are a myth and just a selling propaganda, leaving people in their stuff even more. Loving choices is the key, and the more loving choices we make the more the body responds and we will feel this in every moment of the day.
Totally Jenny, I came back to your comment ‘pulled’ to add to it ! Bring in Universal Medicine, and all the makings about life are presented with nothing that is left out. Only your discernment is pending and your choice to see if it works. Tim acted and made those choices. You feel great Tim and a man I want to meet – inspirational!!
Yes this comment also caught my attention. What an interesting knock on effect. From simple changes in food choices, to clearer thoughts to actually becoming less self-centred and being able to think of others. The impact that food has on our bodies is huge.
You make some great points Jenny…no will power or motivation is needed when the focus is on health and feeling well because once someone decides to make changes to their lifestyle long-term (as opposed to a quick fix or diet), it becomes a way of being that transforms over time. The inspiration is constantly there because feeling well and more vital feels great.
I also love what you say Jenny, about the missing link between long term change and returning eventually to the old ways, is found in the teachings of Universal Medicine. A study of this truth will be heralded as the key to our true health and wellbeing – other wise humanity is on a road to self destruction, a future direction that Tim has arrested for sure. It is so obvious too that once we feel the joy of caring for ourselves with love, we naturally want to share that with others.
Indeed it seems a paradox that the more we take care of ourselves through such self-loving choices around what we eat that we can have more space to think about others and possibly care for others.
Yes, this is true jenny mcgee – Initially it is an odd paradox to consider that self care and self loving choices free up the attachment to time. From my own experience I know this really brings more space to be there for others.
When we change our diets because ‘we should’ it is loveless and while it may have an impact on our weight and looks, it has no impact on our feelings, and we remain hooked in to the glamour of how we present. When we change our diet from love, wanting to care for our body in a way that truly serves, all that glamour falls away, and weight loss, looking younger and have more vitality is the bonus our body thanks us with.
That is so true Catherine, and if we change for the wrong reasons this can become an abuse that the body then suffers. Our body – and our faces – are truly a marker of how we have lived our lives with every painful hurt etched in. We have become to obsessed with our outer appearance that our relationship with our true body of love has been squeezed out of the picture. It is so beautiful to see Tim shining his light as he radiates vitality and love.
This is true and a very astute observation Jenny. To consider that our world opens up and becomes encompassing of all as a result of true self care is a miracle unto itself. How small we keep life when we focus it on the self part and purely on our own comfort or bettering ourself while the whole world is there to connect with.
Michelle I relate to ” Universal Medicine supports us in the missing ingredient of taking care of ourselves” without understanding this key ingredient we would all still be searching for the connection and filling ourselves up with misinformation. So nurturing to feel connected ” to the bone” as you say and feel the fullness of Love.
Well said Jenny. Since making choices to be more self loving and caring with myself, naturally I have been thinking of others more and considering them as much as I consider myself, what a great change indeed. Behaviour like reaching for snacks, comfort food and overeating is ‘self-ish’ behaviour.
This is a super interesting thread to read, I have been considering my self-ish-ness recently, and how easy it is to make a simple decision – such as eating a food that gives me a tummy ache, but for a few moments gratification my whole mood and quality drops, and the people around me get less than they deserve. When you add other people to the equation your choices have to begin to change, otherwise you are knowingly hurting other people.
Its amazing What can happen when we pay some attention to our bodies, and feel how they actually are. This leads us to really inquire and realise that we have a relationship that no body talks about! Its great that we start to talk about it and share it with others. Many are really wanting to know what is up and why their bodies are experiencing so much pain, discomfort and the myriad of other symptoms that we experience. This blog is great because you have shown that making responsible choices for oneself does have amazing results! Keep at it!
How beautiful that your friend got to hear about the loving choices you make not to ‘fill up with the wrong fuel’ including not drinking alcohol. Alcohol is so socially accepted, so ‘normal’, that most people cannot fathom that someone is able to choose not to drink it. Your friend got to hear and see for himself the results of true self-responsibility, that there is another way and that we all have choices.
Wow, look at you Tim, fit, shining and a picture of health. What an amazing change and all due to you taking care of what you do with your body. Yes, our car is a great symbol for our bodies. If we don’t look after our car then we can’t expect a good trade in or for it to last as long as it could. Also if we put the wrong fuel in then it won’t go anywhere and the motor will be damaged, food for thought.
I agree Susan, the analogy of the car is a great one. Effectively how we treat everything in every moment has a direct effect on our bodies – the more loving we are with the more love we feel in our bodies and with everybody else. I find it fascinating how the way we are with ourselves has a direct impact on the way we view / perceive life. The example of 2 people both going to work one really enjoying it, the other being depressed – even though they have gone to the same place and are experiencing the same things. What we allow to run our bodies, the fuel we put in, then dictates the thoughts we have and the day we have. I know how awesome it feels when I put love, the rocket fuel of life into my body and far from it being taxing, it gives more and more. Whereas when I choose emotions, hate, frustration my body feels heavy, hard and withdrawn – it also calls for constant re-fueling leaving me exhausted and run down.
‘when I choose emotions, hate, frustration my body feels heavy, hard and withdrawn – it also calls for constant re-fueling leaving me exhausted and run down.’ this makes me wonder, James, how it feels for the many people around our planet who live with those emotions all the time – no wonder exhaustion is such a plague in our modern society.
Driving yesterday I thought of this blog and the car analogy; which is a great one and also remembered how this can be taken further. I have heard of this analogy before and it makes sense; the one I hadn’t heard before is anything that happens to our car represents our life, e.g. a flat tyre means I am not moving forward in life. Recently, I had my car serviced. There were 2 things to look at from this check up.. a light that keeps getting water in it and is therefore corroding and a slight leak in the gear box. I had completely dismissed this as being something just to do with my car, but as Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine presents everything in life is a communication reflecting back to us what is going on in our life. So pondering on this I felt that the light could be reflecting to me that I have dampness in my body (which is from certain foods I have been eating) and is not allowing the light within to shine out; and the slight leak is showing me how I am not being 100% present with the one thing/task I am doing (instead my mind wanders off elsewhere) in every moment?
You have expressed this so well James, I have experienced the same. “I know how awesome it feels when I put love, the rocket fuel of life into my body and far from it being taxing, it gives more and more. Whereas when I choose emotions, hate, frustration my body feels heavy, hard and withdrawn – it also calls for constant re-fueling leaving me exhausted and run down.
So very true Rachel, I also have experienced the same, how awesome we can feel when we put loving fuel in our bodies versus when we put unloving fuel in. This includes when we choose emotions, absolutely. Anger, frustration, reaction, it does indeed have an impact on the body. It does come down to having awareness of this and feeling how those emotions are in the body. Feeling it so you know you can make another choice the next time.
Yes, Raegan, it’s not until we are willing to feel these emotions that we can begin the progress of unravelling the mess that we have got ourselves into. As you have said when we begin to feel what is going on we have a marker and from that awareness we can evolve and begin to self-love and allow ourselves moments of letting go and being.
James, I loved how you referred to ‘Love’ as being the rocket fuel of life – has me picturing being aligned with our personal bowser of Love Fuel but all being in receipt of this Love from the same source and never having to run dry, or being exhausted by having to go through the motions of re-visiting the bowser, dealing with heavy pumps, being careful of not wasting or spilling any of the fuel etc. etc. – but just to keep the flow going by being ‘plugged in’ or connected continuously without interruption – the awesome thing is that could be our reality if we didn’t choose distraction or contraction, for it seems that that is the truth of it, that Love is there for us all to align to all of the time. To continue being playful, I can see a cartoon segment somewhere in there.
A great description James that we can all relate to.
It is a very clear experiment to do. The days where I am lacking commitment and choosing a more comfortable path, taking the edge off or holding back in any way shape or form are arduous, don’t flow and exhaust me continually both during the day and continue to deplete me in sleep. When I bring all that I am, am committed and with purpose and loving and appreciating of myself and of others, I take this to work and the magic happens. Effortless and yet I am at my most productive, everything flows, I deepen my love and connection to myself and I sleep like a baby held in the love that I am.
I love what you share here Deborah – a simple and beautiful reminder to take into my day.
I agree James, when we choose emotions our body is instantly affected with energy that then needs to be sustained, usually by food, and this is definitely debilitating. Choosing love every day actually develops a body that eventually will only make loving choices. We all can stumble along the way, but once love is truly felt it is always there in our body as our marker.
Very good description James and quite an exposing example of the two people going to the same work. We really are masters of our own destiny / downfall and that is a great way of showing it to be so.
Yes, and so, so many people will look after their car far better than their own body. They realise that if they do not look after their car they are putting themselves and others lives at risk, because of this there are even laws to maintain our cars at a certain standard of safety. Yet our body is not only what we travel in, it is actually what we live in. It’s crazy.
Yes Jonathan, I totally agree with you it is totally crazy – especially considering that the way we are also has an impact on everyone around us.
I Love this Jonathan. I was talking to my dad and his Brother the other day and we all raised how much this is true. These two wonderful men spend more time money and consideration looking after their cars, than they do their bodies. If there is the slightest noise, squeak, rattle or splutter from their car they will do everything they can to work out what it is and have it fixed immediately, and yet the will spend days, weeks, and years with crews and groans and sore knees and a bad back without ever doing anything about it.
Crazy!
I LOVE the analogy of the car. Every day as I drive my car I will relate it back to my body.
IT is my vehicle. It supports me and gets me around.
I can either choose to love and care for it in every way or just treat it as a functional object.
My body is the same. Treat it with love and care or as a functional object? It makes sense doesn’t it.
Tim I love the anology of our bodies being like our cars. It seems logical that how we treat it affects how it performs. I have found this in my own life and I am sure if other people made the choice to consider the fuel that they are putting into their bodies, their bodies would respond just like yours and mine has.
I love that analogy too Sharon – so practical and nothing to misunderstand there …
Simple and true – a great analogy especially coming from someone who knows about the running of automobiles so well!
Ha! yes so true – didn’t think of that – and the analogy is just perfect.
What is so interesting to ponder on this analogy too is that why is it that we take better care of an inanimate object than ourselves? Do we think of ourselves as so undeserving or that our bodies are disposable and just there for a matter of function.
Great point Jenny, unlike a car, when it comes to our bodies we are not able to simply go out and buy a new one when it has run into disrepair. It makes so much sense to start taking care of our bodies now, rather than waiting for something to break before we pay attention.
Love that Hannah! It should be a poster! It’s so true that we can’t just pop out and get a new one when our bodies need repairing. Great blog Tim.
True on one level Hannah but what I am becoming more and more aware of is that with medical and scientific advancements, people’s bodies are being treated like objects with more more replacement parts and complicated surgery available that performs so called miracles. I know people in their 80’s and 90’s who have had their hearts repaired to the extent that the rest of their bodies are well and truly beyond salvage but their hearts will have them live perhaps over a century without any quality of life. Have we allowed our bodies to become commodities, such is the disregard we have for them?
Yes its funny how we treat our cars with so much love and yet when it comes to our bodies we can be the complete opposite. Our bodies are our vehicle for life we cannot upgrade to a different model when we exhaust the one we have.
Yes Jenny, there must be some truth in the belief that our bodies are not worth of care as there is no other logical reason to explain why we take better care of objects than we do ourselves. I have noticed this before with the care I have taken with another person and wondered why I did not apply that same gentleness to myself. The issue of self worth is something that deserves a lot of consideration.
There indeed seems to be something about self worth. Why then would we not take deep care of our bodies? I have also wondered. The analogy is too logical, but look at humanity there is very little care for the body. Apart from that we are bombarded by the media and marketing campaigns that feed this lack of self worth. Why do we ‘suffer’ such little self worth? Something to ponder upon a little more.
Great question which stopped me in my tracks Jenny. It makes no sense to take greater care of our cars than we do ourselves. The analogy of a car certainly exposes our lack of responsibility in taking care of ourselves!
It is mad and sad Jenny how so many of us treat inanimate objects better than our bodies even though our bodies are with us 24/7.
I agree, its also a good metaphor because we take far more care of our cars than we do of ourselves.
…and yet we can replace our cars …but our body is with us for our entire lifetime… and the way we live in it – for lifetimes.
The investment to truly take care of ourselves – deeply and lovingly – is one of the greatest investments we can make, and the return is enjoyed by all.
I too love the analogy and it makes so much sense. We just put anything we want into our bodies and then expect it to work properly and last a long time and we are even take by surprise if it doesn’t. Even animals are fed specific foods to keep it healthy but somehow we humans think this doesn’t apply to us.
The changes you have made by eliminating gluten, dairy and alcohol from your diet are profound and gobsmacking, nothing short of a miracle.
For shizzle Gabriele, for shizzle. Outstanding.
Sarah – I just love the expression ‘for shizzle’ – it says a lot and feels lovely and warm and confirming, and I can only imagine that is what it means in response to Gabriele’s comment on Tim’s simply gorgeous blog. As we all engage with one another and expand the blog we all make an amazing connection to one another and the world becomes smaller and we all begin to feel younger, and all confirming the inspiration of Tim’s original words.
“For shizzle”… no idea what that means either, but it sounds fun. I agree Susan, expressing and expanding on these blogs is what it is all about, and I love the thought of the world getting smaller and us all feeling younger. Tim’s journey with turning back the clock has been nothing short of miraculous, for not only has he changed his diet and lifestyle, but the other little trick up his now much smaller sleeves is the choice to open up to the love of himself, and this is reflected in the joy which shows in his face.
I have never heard of that word before!!!! But yes it just goes to show how eliminating gluten, dairy and alcohol can have amazing health benefits to our body.
No wonder your friend didn’t recognise you! The change seems miraculous, but it is a miracle available to anyone who wants to choose to care for themselves.
Well said Heather thats the true meaning of a miracle. A miracle is not something that miraculous happens if we are lucky. Miracles are happening all the time if we choose to care for ourselves and live from love. It is interesting how miracles have become this fairy tale and unreachable thing that only very lucky people get when it is actually the joy of normal and daily living from our Soul.
Yes, miracles happen all the time if we are willing to make different choices and care for ourselves. We are responsible for the miracles to happen. Nothing to do with being lucky, born on a Sunday, but with connecting to ourselves and taking care of our bodies.
Yes Monika I agree the miracle is the choice to change the way we live for our bodies to run at full capacity with lots of love and care.
Very well said Rachel! Miracles are all over waiting for us to be chosen!
Beautifully said Rachel. Yep miracles occur EVERYDAY with normal folk. There’s no luck involved and it even has nothing to do with genetics. By living more lovingly we CAN transform our lives and our world as Tim is stunningly showing us. This is absolutely Stupendous!
Agree Rachel – we are the miracles happening in the world every day.
That’s right Heather. The choice is always there.. and we have to keep on making those choices until that’s all we know.
It starts with one choice to try something different and then another and another until it becomes a familiar thing to consider our bodies and not simply override it for the sake of a short term relief or reward.
I found and find if I give something a go for a while, not eating something in particular and observing how the body responds, and the body responds beautifully, the desire is fully gone and I am not even having to
choose should I should I not, it is simply not an issue any more. So liberating.
And underneath that choice Jenny is a growing awareness that we are worth this level of care and commitment. This is the beautiful message in Tim’s sharing.
Much cheaper than cosmetic surgery too.
..and does not look so scary.
…and, completely unlike ANY quick fix … the choice to become more loving with yourself actually has benefits that increase continually with time.
Yes a simple choice can unfold such a miraculous shift – incredible.
Yes this is a truly miracle!
Totally agree Gabriele Conrad, and Tim’s photos say it all!
